LD39 — Running out of Power

Kingin' It by JoshyOshKenoshi 2022-04-05T16:49:29Z

Lost the first time around, second time won on turn 3. Noticed the visits are randomized, so the playthrough was different. Was quite fun to play, there is definitely something there worth exploring.

LD44 — Your life is currency

Basil Price: Mint Investigator by minibobbo 2019-05-02T18:22:10Z

Fun little story, the whimsical music fit the game nicely. Would love to see the game expanded.

Life Hunter by neonian 2019-05-02T16:56:05Z

It was fun to play and the game looks very nice. The default sound volume was a bit too quiet on my pc compared to other stuff. Would be great if there were more fun upgrades to buy and enemies.

A credit card by alex_kpojb 2019-05-02T17:28:25Z

The game is fun and satisfying to play. The visuals are very nice. Sometimes i got confused as to when I can and can't jump/dash any more. Some sound effects would help it a ton

Alleycat Faust by kostasvs 2019-05-02T17:12:28Z

I love the look and the music, the gameplay obviously needs more spice, the powerups are too strong :)

Escape from Hell by Becher 2019-05-02T18:11:47Z

Beautiful art and the gameplay could be improved by adding some sound and making the combat little bit more satisfying. Good work over the weekend!

Paper, Cork and Bugs by IAmWave 2019-05-01T09:03:53Z

Fun game, got to level 24 then accidentally reincarnated into an offspring that wasn't quite ready yet :) One annoyance was that the web page kept scrolling when using arrow keys.

LD46 — Keep it alive

The Messenger Assist by graebor 2020-04-24T10:22:53Z

Not sure how I did it but I'm probably an expert spaceship engineer now. Was a bit short but everything else feels like a polished finished game, wouldn't expect this sort of quality from a weekend project.

BeamTron 5500 by Panagiotis Iatrou 2020-04-24T10:13:13Z

Starts off a bit slow but as multiple big ships start coming at once it gets very hectic and fun especially if you start making typos and struggle to recover. Love the visuals and how the music ramps up.

Lost Beneath by Honey Pony 2020-04-24T10:58:08Z

Was enjoyable to play, but got stuck at the section with the springs/trampolines couldn't figure out how to get all the way up to the top one much less have some spores leftover as it looked like I might still need some to make the flight right after hitting that one. As others have said the slipperiness on the ground felt wrong but it wasn't something I couldn't get over.

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Etracyte by bentglasstube 2020-10-05T15:24:13Z

Very cool for 48 hours! Not sure if there is a way to access all the crystals but I only managed to get some of them. Also the description says the planet is procedurally generated, but it seems to always be the same to me, so I'm not sure if that's a random seeding bug or if the feature is not currently in effect.

Twist Turn Shoot Burn by gamepopper 2020-10-05T19:53:13Z

Love the music and the visuals! The gameplay is quite challenging and can be a bit hard to wrap your head around when navigating those curves.

Kinalo by mutuware 2020-10-05T15:07:32Z

The music is quite cool, I managed to escape the loop before really getting stuck into it :) but I understood after I tried it the second time. It would be nice for something to happen when all leaves fall down for example.

Portaloop by Allas 2020-10-07T21:49:14Z

@rngames @zebrainflames Yes, I also noticed the controls feel a bit unresponsive. I made the mistake and used the predefined Unity Horizontal input axis as a turning coefficient as is, which takes a while to build and decay. I noticed it after I came back from trying the mobile version, for which the turning control used a different input as a source, so it behaved much better as a result. I would fix it, but It's not really a game breaking bug, so I'd consider it to be against the spirit of the compo to change it during the voting period :)

@fabula-rasa the android controls work the way that the right half of the screen serves as the right button and the left side is the left button, didn't they work like that for you?

Loopstuck by Nobleboy 2020-10-05T19:32:03Z

My eyes will never forget this

Stuck in a (Froot) Loop by Sthor726 2020-10-05T21:29:49Z

Short but sweet. The music and art are my favorite parts, also the play on the theme is quite nice. The dash feature wasn't really needed anywhere and the game could be beaten without it, so maybe it would be nice to have to utilize it more.

DISTORT by SuperGamersGames 2020-10-05T20:11:17Z

Great idea, great art great gameplay, and one of the better compo games I've played so far. I haven't beaten it yet (the lasers keep kicking my ass), but I might try.

Kosmosrunda by patetfisk 2020-10-05T18:49:51Z

Spent way longer on this than I'd like to admit, but it was worth it. Really nice and well polished game, especially for 2 days of work.

The exit is in ----- by Masaru 2020-10-05T15:38:39Z

The character controls are very janky. I love the parts of the level rotating idea. Didn't manage to find the exit, but got stuck in a loop trying to :). The dead enemies keep attacking me from the ground, which is not something I was happy about.

Protogonus by RNGames 2020-10-05T22:40:04Z

I liked this game a lot, then sometime in level 5 I unfortunately encountered a bug where I couldn't interact with some of the cards in hand and I'd stop getting new cards on turn. That bummed me out a little, because the game was genuinely good, so I would've liked to continue playing it.

Loop Defender by DreamerofDays 2020-10-05T20:24:42Z

Definitely pack the .exe and .pak files together so people don't need to download them separately. As for the game itself, it would be nice to be able to shoot in both directions, and with some more levels and enemy types it could be quite fun. Some platforms are stacked so close vertically that they're very frustrating to navigate.

Work Sleep Repeat by Manspider 2020-10-05T17:07:29Z

This is an improvement compared to the real thing... but for real, visually it is very nice and moody, but the gameplay is very simple and doesn't surprise you in any way, which in a way fits the theme.

Fresh Harvest by Craig Cordeiro 2020-10-05T16:17:18Z

(Edit: I just realized I completely missed the launch button, so much of what I said is probably not even relevant) I set up my defenses and waited, the amount of enemies at the start was really low, so I just left it running on my other monitor, then after around 8 minutes the game started having some performance issues which ramped up quite quickly as more and more enemies started overwhelming me - unable to react quickly enough with the game running at around 1fps at this point :) It would be interesting to see how it plays if the performance was addressed. I also quite liked the design of your little harvester and base sprites.

League of Ultranormal Detectives by Ghuyajil 2020-10-05T17:55:43Z

Absolutely insane how you managed to make all this in 2 days! So much more that what I've come to expect from compo games. Glad I came across this :)

CoisuLoop by EssiJe 2020-10-05T18:25:35Z

A cool little walking game, but after several tries I only ever managed to get the bad ending.

Endless by Retro Hammer 2020-10-05T17:19:14Z

I just played a computer game for two weeks straight

LD50 — Delay the inevitable

STONEHOLD by teamscripta 2022-04-05T16:27:52Z

I love the combat - it feels very satisfying and skill based. I think I got to and died on level 9, not sure if there is a way to restore health or if you're just supposed to try to kill the enemies as efficiently as possible. Also not sure if there is any point to visiting other players cells but the idea is cool nontheless. Also I almost didn't figure out you can attack the door to open it and progress and I could get out of level bounds using the dodge roll :)

Dyker by lenaschimmel 2022-04-05T17:40:08Z

I played this for quite a while and enjoyed it. I appreciate the novelty of it being made on TIC-80. The game could use some sounds to go along with the gameplay. I got to level 3 and I wish there was a way to save so I can continue later. Anyway good job with the game :)

Leaky Blood by U-Tsang Clan 2022-04-05T17:10:58Z

You could call this game done and it wouldn't feel premature. I actually played this for quite a while and enjoyed it. It feels very polished and I love the risk-management gameplay.

Slide Out by TimeTravelHamster 2022-04-05T16:14:21Z

Cute art and the direction reversal mechanic made the gameplay quite interesting.

DEATH AND TAXES by Gus Goucher 2022-04-05T15:36:41Z

Game is very polished and nice to look at / listen to. The gameplay obviously could be expanded as it's very simple in its current state.

Desert Oasis by Janku 2022-04-05T20:24:55Z

Can't say if there is any gameplay other than trying to rush the little dude when he's being attacked, it is however very relaxing and interesting watching them go about their business.

Destination Hibernation by Hamdogu 2022-04-05T16:05:48Z

Very cute art and cool music, the gameplay could use a bit more to make it more interesting. One thing I noticed is that the days counter keeps on going after the game ended :)

LD53 — Delivery

Holiday Halfpipe by Marcus Otterstrom 2023-05-02T18:44:05Z

This is a very polished and fun to play game :) although I didn't expect to play a Christmas game this time of year, it definitely kept me a bit cooler with the temperatures slowly creeping up these days.

Boxt In Space by Diego Escalante 2023-05-02T18:11:11Z

A well made game. It gets a bit frustrating trying to get everything toghether, but I love the visuals and the sound.

Dungeon Matchmaker by sprunth 2023-05-02T18:24:07Z

Cool idea, very relaxing to play, though I wish there was some kind of rating score or an objective to fight against.

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

Spelling Zombie Shooter by codemaster 2020-10-05T16:29:57Z

The idea and visuals / presentation are quite nice. I feel like it would be more fun being able to control the player with directional keys and having the ability to shoot zombies further away/more precisely while they would also attack you to give you some kind of player agency.
