Really laggy. I LOVE the graphics and audio, though!

Really laggy. I LOVE the graphics and audio, though!
I couldn't figure it out, but I loved the graphics and music.
I loved the frantic feeling and how you could just barely get that item out the door! Challenging, while remaining rewarding! Excellent experience!
I enjoyed it! The physics felt unintuitive but I really had fun playing it! Great work!
Seems insanely difficult but I love the art! The animations are great too.
Really love the style! I was sure you had used something from opengameart until I read your comment!
Also the code is excellent, I can't believe you guys managed to cram in an ECS system.
This game is excellent! I could see this on a console as a fully-fledged masterpiece.
Seemed like it could use more content/enemies, but I liked what you have so far and the mood was set well!
@garett-cooper sorry if that wasn't clear, there's more text in it in the next night.
@wheybags i have to agree, honestly. something i'd definitely like to add with more time
@kaan-alpar nope, sorry that happened. you may have opened the note by the campfire, but I'm not sure why you couldn't pick up sticks and logs...?
@yohapii thank you!
Interesting concept. Maybe it would be even better if you added progression/levels in the future!
Really nice graphics, and I love the audio, really fun!
Very silly, enjoyed it lots. Good work!
An excellent game! I've messed with NES development and it's certainly not easy, and I would be impressed even if you made the same game in a modern engine! This is really awesome!
This is really excellent! The pixel art is really beautiful and the whole game feels well-composed and polished! One of my faves so far!
I really like the "stealth" mechanics, super unique and well executed! Graphics are solid as well!
Wasn't expecting to see a shoot to move game again, but this one is really well executed! Nice and juicy and as others have mentioned, the hat getting left behind was classic cartoon funny. Take my stars!
Nice game! I only played easy mode so this might not be a real critique, but I found it somewhat repetitive. I really enjoyed the graphics! Great game!
Although it's a very neat idea, I feel like the ability to just spam without regard for color kind of nullifies the mechanic. Maybe some repercussions for shooting the wrong color? Awesome work otherwise!
Very nice game! Simple idea, cleanly executed. A little dry after a while - some powerups or something might help the gameplay stay interesting. Excellent work!
Incredible work! NES games in this kind of time limit are instantly impressive, and it's fun which is a nice bonus! I love the graphics, and especially the font! It's super cool while still being completely readable which is a difficult balance to achieve! Excellent work!
Interesting balance between dodge ability and not dying! Would be a cool one to expand with some progression perhaps? I also found that the art served its purpose but could have been expanded upon at least a little. Solid game!
Couldn't figure out how to play. Maybe add some controls to the webpage or a new build? Cool design for the character!
What a great, simple concept! Reminds me of the simplicity and fun of games like minesweeper and snake! Incredible work!
What a cool concept! I was just messing around with this myself, but never thought to make it into a game! It's really nicely laid out and the colors are well chosen, excellent work!
A cool game! Love the Witness so this was nicely up my alley, puzzles could have been intro'd a little more slowly to allow the player to fully grasp the mechanics. Otherwise, nice job!
Art style is cool, I like the background choice. The gameplay felt a little mushy and the platforming was a little loose which made it harder than it probably needed to be, but great work overall!
@javasaurus just wanted to add on that your comment is absolutely the best thing I have ever read in all of my game-making. Thank you so much for playing.
@vectrex28 Thank you so much for the high praise - we pushed really hard to make sure it felt polished and whole, which is something I know I've struggled with in the past. Thank you so much for playing and for the incredibly kind words!
@spike-studio I'm glad it's difficult but still fun enough that you kept playing!! I know I'm pretty weak when it comes to hard games so it's incredible to hear that someone else enjoyed it enough to see it through!
@vectrex28 I think we're both super happy (Braeden and I) with the way that level came out. Playtesting with other people helped for sure!
@sli Thank you for playing! Glad you liked it!
@piw Wow, I didn't realize this game was that intensive, but I'm glad you enjoyed the soundtrack! What are the specs on your computer?
@antrimplato Thank you for playing!
@sploky Thank you for playing, glad you enjoyed it!!
@namnam It's definitely a tough one, that seems to be something a lot of people have said. I'm glad you still enjoyed it!
@wouter52 Trackpad sounds especially awful for the time-pressure levels! I applaud you for trying to use it! Thanks for checking out the game!
@korfi That was absolutely what we were going for, thank you for playing and I'm glad you enjoyed it!!
@twospaces-sg We found that unintended bug in playtesting but it was too much fun to remove, we're so glad you found it! The best time we've seen is a 1:03 according to the in-game timer, see if you can beat it! Thank you for playing!
@wedgiebee Thank you so much for the feedback! Although we're super grateful for all the support, it's good to get some critique so we can improve. If we were to do this again we both agreed that having the box hang from the mouse on a joint would be much better than having it rotate automatically. That should solve the second issue you had too which sounds like it's because its rotating into the floor when you're picking it up, and then dropping it because of that. Thank you so much for playing it, I glad you enjoyed it!
@chillertyp No worries haha! If you weren't aware you can press R to restart, I hope you give it another shot! Thank you for playing and leaving a comment!
@enad96 So glad you enjoyed! Thank you for playing!
@antti-haavikko Thank you for all the feedback! The box jumping """feature""" some people have found is glitchy because it was unintended. We found it in playtesting and could have removed it, but we both agreed it was too fun to remove so we left it in. It could use some more polish for sure. Your ideas about a timed mode are super cool, and if we end up extending this game I'll make sure to bring it up. The "lava wall" (what should it even be called??) is mostly there to add some time pressure and required accuracy, especially on the first level which has it because it's an easier one to figure out. On the later levels, it's there to add to the difficulty. It sounds like you found the game relatively easy so that might be why you thought the lava wall felt out of place. Thank you so much for playing and for all the feedback!
@hydezeke @joerenglish The box rotation is definitely the biggest feedback point we've gotten, so you're not alone. Ideally I think we would have had the box "hang" from the mouse cursor on a joint, which should have been a lot more intuitive. Thank you for the comment and for playing!
@animawish Thank you for playing!
@ideaspersecond That's definitely something I thought about and something we probably should have tested, but I think I didn't bring it up because of the other dangers (like spikes etc.) that we already had. That's a great idea though, and I'm really glad you liked the game! Thank you for the feedback!
George W. Bush and Commuters are the best possible combo your game is broken
Nice game! I love the shader/graphics work, very nicely put-together! Gameplay felt really difficult but still on the edge of feasibility which is great, especially for a game jam game! Keep up the good work.
Haven't even played it yet but props for the tom7 fonts! I thought I was the only one!!
Love the game! The graphics are really nice, some excellent pixel art you got going there! Very addictive, even if I'm not sure what the goal is. One of my favorites!
Fun! Does seem like there's a defined "best" way to beat the game which hurts replayability, but it's really nice especially for a one-day game! Good work!
This game is really amazing! I love the palette shift for each level, it really helps add some variation without detracting from the JUICY gameplay! Best game for me so far.
Great game, loved the graphics! The concept got old without the introduction of new mechanics, but it felt like it can be easily expanded upon in the future! Nice game!
Couldn't tell what was going on, I kept getting the overlay about Twatch.tv and it kept resetting me. Maybe a tutorial? Seems like others figured it out and enjoyed it so I'm interested in getting it to work.
I wasn't able to figure out any potions. Maybe some kind of indication of what worked when making a potion might be nice! Great pixel art though!
Clever little game! Very nice concept, and polished/juicy to play! Very tough in my opinion, but not frustrating or annoying :) Excellent work!!
Mac build doesn't work on my M1 air. If you exported for x86, that might be why, but x86 should still work on M1 so not sure what the issue is :(
@henanboy Awesome! I'll give the web build a shot.
@henanboy I think the web build's cursor is corrupted, but the game appears to work :)
Loved the layout of the level, and it's not too tough for me which is rare! I loved the aesthetic and it's very cohesive visually. The tentacle I found to be a little in the way when I wasn't using it, but I'm probably just being nitpicky :)
It's a fun concept and cool idea but the execution visually felt like it got in the way - it was hard to understand who had a bomb, and the shaders/effects were a little heavy. Enjoyable overall, though! Keep up the good work.
Nice mood and graphics! Cool concept too, haven't seen anything like it so far. Could be a little snappier (if that makes sense?), but also could just be lagging on my computer. Maybe a windows/native build if possible and if that's the case? Really nice work!
@trashbag Thank you so much for playing! If I could go back and do it again, I think I would focus more on the gameplay as opposed to the intro and menu, and try to really make it challenging and fun. Glad you enjoyed it though, and thanks for the feedback!
@elxar-productions Thank you so much for playing and for the feedback!
@allas Yep, definitely wish I had focused on expanding the gameplay with more stages and obstacles, and spent less time on polish. Thanks for the feedback, it's super valuable.
@iamwave Thank you for the note about the doc counter glitch - I don't think I ever tested replaying the game (definitely should have!) I'll patch that out for people in the future with a patched version on itch. Thanks for playing and for the feedback!
@minusc Thank you so much for playing and for the kind words!
@ikelucas Thank you for playing!!! Glad you liked the jokes
@codebug I'm putting together a list of things to fix, and making the cutscene skippable would definitely be a big quality of life thing to fix, so I'll make sure it's on there. The window breaking sound could probably be turned down a bit too :). Thanks for playing and for the feedback!
@simplepotential Thank you for playing! Sorry you couldn't get to the end, hopefully it wasn't too frustrating.
@notnasiul Thanks for the feedback and for playing!
@goudcode The theme definitely isn't as strong in this as in some other games, and you're right it's more "running away from" than "delaying" the inevitable. Glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for playing!
@jozef I'm glad you loved the intro so much! Hearing that people enjoyed it definitely makes it worth it whether the rest of the game is amazing or not. Thank you so much for playing!!
@limered I don't think it would hurt to make it skippable though, and I think it's probably more annoying if you want to replay after you died and you want a quick turnaround time. Will fix sound volume :) Thank you for playing and for the feedback!
@kankje @homineludens @beefsock Thank you so much for playing and for leaving a comment!!
@davision That's a super cool idea that would work really well with the current "HUD" setup for sure! I'm glad you enjoyed the game!!
@lohii Glad I'm not the only one who thinks the gameplay is a little lackluster compared to the amount of polish. Thanks so much for the review and for playing!!
@rafael-garcez Thank you so much for playing and hopefully your eardrums are okay!
@paulhocker We had a blast! Thank you so much for playing and for the kind words!
@fionnabhair I'm so glad you enjoyed using the leafblower, and thank you for playing! Hopefully your mouse is okay :D
I'm not sure if I was doing something wrong, but the game seemed very easy. Very nice pixel art though, and polished! Big SimCity vibes, nice work.
@cryptomnesic Definitely must be misunderstanding something then. Cool game either way :)
Way too hard for me but from the comments it seems like I'm just bad at video games :...( Nice platformer though, nice graphics (well composed even if they're not original), and fun experience overall! Nice work!
Hello, I'm here for the games called "Death and Taxes" convention?
Train? Alien? Fun?? Excellent jam game, and cool idea to really just focus on a boss battle. Took me a sec to figure out how to refuel the train but I got it after a bit of trial and error. Not too hard, either! Great work.
Had to read the comments to understand the spike tower, but that is a super clever idea - I wish it were communicated more clearly. Rotation is a super cool twist (no pun intended) and this is the first game I've played for more than a few minutes this jam! Nice work!
Needs a few more instructions to make it clear and easy to pick up, but I loved the idea of laundering 7 whole dollars, truly thrilling. Nice mood, and good job!
Nice little idea! Cleanly executed, but a little slow. Onboarding was a little hard to understand and there wasn't much feedback. A little too difficult for the amount of engagement that it gave me. Good work!
A bit buggy but a cool idea. I enjoy the visuals, but I wasn't able to walk up or left (?) Very odd. Good work though!
Nice idea! Wish there were more explanation or tutorial to it but once I figured it out it made sense. Very difficult but it is a jam game! Great work!
Hey very cool idea! The gameplay felt a little sparse and unmotivated; the beats were a little weak and there wasn't much connective tissue between them, but with some refining and game loop clarification this could be a really cool experience. Upside down spawner/crafting stations were very fun! Great work!
Cool twist on a match three! Liked the specific choice of direction / inspiration. Good work!
One of the better games I've played so far! Love the visuals, great aesthetic. Gameplay was a little difficult to read initially, but I picked it up pretty quickly. Love the characters, great amount of content and variation for a jam game. Wish it were a little faster paced. Great great job!
@nazorus Unsure why the default Godot export settings need internet access, we aren't doing any internet stuff and there's probably a toggle for it somewhere in the export settings that I missed. Thanks for the heads up, will make sure to figure that out for future games and of course thanks for playing!
The control scheme for keyboard immediately wounded my soul. If enter is going to be fire, then WASD NEEDS to be an option for movement. If the arrow keys are your only choice, then fire needs to be further away, something like space or z. Otherwise, my hands are squashed together and cramp quickly. I don't have a controller on hand to test, but that scheme looks much more intuitive. Dodging bullets to catch them was really fun, I enjoyed how close I had to cut it to do it effectively. Would have liked it if catching salt gave more ammo, as the current balance draws too many resources compared to how many you are expected to generate. Overall, I was stoked to see the game working as intended and had a pretty good time while my hands still worked. - Braeden, the sound boye
I like it! LOVE the lil guys. Felt pretty stale pretty quickly; the complexity increase over time alone was not enough to hold my interest. Would have loved to see more gameplay variation such as more challenge types, etc. Great work, though!
I like it! You might get better results by easing the player in with a tutorial or a simpler first level with obvious direction, but I think it was simple enough to figure out. Would have liked more gameplay variation, but what's here is well put together! Love the graphics! Great work!
I'm a sucker for anything Wii so I love this take on Find Mii! Super well executed and the graphics are clean and clear. Nice work, one of my favs so far!
Cool concept! Need much more feedback and information. Very obtuse but I think it has a lot of potential. Nice idea.
Love this! Not sure why others are saying was complex, I found it intuitive and well explained. Very slick transitions. Wish the letter values meant more to the gameplay; for me it essentially turned into Semantle. However I still had fun! Great work!
Very small game bet well implemented! Loved how easy it was to pick up, and the amount of enemy types was surprising and welcome. Wish there were more depth to the gameplay but what's here is great!
Very slick graphics! Hard to play, couldn't see the icons well. If intentional, frustrating. Frantic pace was executed well and tense! Nice job.
Enjoyed the visuals and audio a lot! Good feedback and readable. Would have liked to see more depth of gameplay from that eating mechanic (seemed underused) and more variation in the level structure. Otherwise had a blast. Great work!
Very silly! Wish the Phoenix wasn't completely busted in offense's favor (we won every time!!) but we had a blast. Could speed up the gameplay a little, but watching a golem stroll leisurely down the field was pretty funny. Great great work, one of my favs!
Very very fun! Needs a little bit more lenience (coyote time, hitboxes having round edges, etc) but very fun to play through! Would also benefit from a sound track for sure. Also PLEASE make restart space!! Would keep the loop so much quicker!! Loved it, great job!
Very cool! I liked the visuals and the mood/soundscape. Wish it were a little more fun to move around, and the story were a little more complex. Great work!
