Fun little game! Although sometimes is not easy to understand the resonancy concept, it was quite entretaining.

Fun little game! Although sometimes is not easy to understand the resonancy concept, it was quite entretaining.
Hard but fun game.
Wow this is an interesting take on the theme. It's a little mechanically complex for it maybe, but I feel like you could make this a daily wordle-type game and make some cash. I do think the way you have to guess if your board has enough points and then submit blindly makes it feel a little bewildering, though I don't know how I'd suggest redesigning that feature as it's pretty key to the structure.
Visually it's nice and clean and responsive enough. Submitting sometimes takes a few seconds where I feared it was frozen but I assume that's just it connecting and checking data online, which is understandable. Maybe a "loading" popup would help there. Very nice job overall!
This is a fun idea! Great job :)
It's a really fun take on scrabble, love it! The resonancy concept brings in some balance, as you can't spam the same high score words over and over again and you have to adapt to the context.
GOOOOOODS!!!
What a wonderful. Takes a lot of thought but I got through the first level.
Nicely done!!!
How are you processing your dictionary for related words. How did you build your relational dictionary? How large is your dictionary?
I really like the idea here, exploring resonance is also fun in its own right - must have spent half an hour or so, so far? My top score is only level 4, and I got around 280 points once... that's what I get for skipping word day :p
Unexpected take on the theme, fun, addictive, with just the right level of challenge! Reminds me of Semantle, but harder - I'll defo be playing more tonight.
Nice word game! How did you do the associations? I had fun playing this, but there were some weird graphical artifacts, black flashes over the screen that is a bit distracting.
@beebster-games @nsadie The word association is done with a Web API request in Unity, the API utilizes [Word2Vec](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Word2vec) word embeddings (natural language processing). Basically, the API can use that and calculate the distance between word embeddings, which can be translated into meaning the semantic similarity between words. I thought the mostly intuitive yet sometimes strange correlations it finds between words is kind of like rituals where you have to summon creatures with incantations!
@nsadie if you're able to share the weird graphical artifacts with a screenshot let me know, hopefully it's not something that might trigger epilepsy! I never saw that when testing the game out (granted, I did not have a lot of time for testing, LOL)
Interesting mechanic, but my English vocabulary is a bit difficult to play with XD
Weird, I cannot take a screenshot or video capture of it, which makes me think it is some sort of vsync/refresh rate issue. It looks almost like black flashing scanlines, but I don't think it is in danger of making anyone feel ill.
I played with Word2Vec a few years back as I wanted to use it to associate words with categories, so that for example a certain theme is picked like Beach and these words score higher points on a round.
I think this is a really interesting idea! I liked how responsive things were for the most part, although I kept finding myself stumped a lot of the time. I'm not a huge fan of word games, so I wouldn't be the target audience but I think this is really cool and would be awesome to flesh out. I think games that are easy to understand but hard to master are really good pulls for people and I could totally see this being successful. I ended up playing for quite a while before I decided to stop. Really well done!!!
Wow, its very complicated for me, but i love the concept :)
Love this! Not sure why others are saying was complex, I found it intuitive and well explained. Very slick transitions. Wish the letter values meant more to the gameplay; for me it essentially turned into Semantle. However I still had fun! Great work!
I had fun playing! I mainly enjoyed coming up with words. Moving them around in the grid to make space for new words was somewhat cumbersome. Fun to see Word2Vec in a Ludum Dare game!
The input worked well, although sometimes when I entered a letter I would suddenly fill the whole row or column with WWWWWWW. ;) I would have liked to be able to do all the editing with my keyboard, so that I don't have to switch between keyboard and mouse all the time.
I like that there is an in-game explanation of how the game works, but all that text looks a bit messy, being centered, slanted and different sizes. The graphics are efficient, but sticking to a color scheme might help to make the look more cohesive.
It's funny how sometimes I got the #1 word, but other times I was very far off. The highest level I reached was level 6. I would have liked to be able to go back to the level that I reached, in stead of starting from level 1 again.
Overall, good game!
A really complex, very interesting and overall really enjoyable game. The concept is really original and mechanically the game is really well-made. I love word-puzzle games, and this one is so original and fun. Great job!
This is a great game concept, and the execution was great. Very fun, I think i played it for like 25~ minutes. This could definitely be a great web game like Wordle if you ported it over to a web based platform.
That's one challenging game, but I liked it a lot. The concept of resonance is cool, though a bit hard to grasp. I wish I didn't have to start from the beginning every time I messed up, especially considering you have to play around a lot at first to understand how the rules work. But I definitely enjoyed it and i see a lot of potential for a great word puzzle. Well done.
Nice game idea. My english vocabulary did not get me very far, I just typed in things google would spit out as synonymes. Didn't get me much points however.
There seems to be a graphics issue where the screen suddenly starts flashing. Moving the window fixes it for a few seconds but it consistently comes back which is really annoying. Also the window is kinda too big for my screen, the bottom line of the error message is rendered outside but I can't set it to fullscreen either, so some errors I had to guess.
Something I noticed is that you are assuming a QWERTY layout for your input. I have a QWERTZ keyboard so I mistyped Y/Z several times
Very interesting game and concept! I wasn't particularly good at it, but was enjoyable and has plenty of potential for development. Good Work!
Neat little game, I have no idea how all this could be working on the back end, very impressive! It was quite hard to figure out what you were meant to do from the start though, I didn't find the instructions very clear. Would've been nice to have fewer words and more pictures, but once I knew it made total sense! The one other problem I had whilst playing was the dictionary not recognising a bunch of really common words, neither 'net' nor 'is' gets accepted.
And with this game I wish you could retry a given puzzle once you've seen the word values! I often found the resonance to be highly unintuitive, and felt I was losing in unpredictable ways, but would've totally tried again if I could. Despite all this, I genuinely really enjoyed my time with this game, it makes you think in an interesting way! Scrabble really rewards you for packing as many words as closely together as possible, and combined with resonance this made for a really interesting word puzzle! I would love to see this developed as a web app that you can quickly open up and play every so often, perhaps with a daily challenge like wordle
Love the graphics, but would love to know whats the connection with the theme, overall the game is nice its amazing that you managed to make all of that alone in just 3days good job, keep it up!
