Mr.AdBar by eddynardo 2023-10-13T03:51:44Z

Insane concept and you actually made it work! Crazy cool

QPCA-77B by Jimbly 2023-10-13T13:29:17Z

I've spent definitely too much time on your game. While being super long for a jam game it still looks like a demo in comparison to original Zach games xd You captured the soul of these games, it truly felt like a spin-offy dlc to TIS-100. I had a lot of fun! I'm glad there are only this few levels though, my brain is melting. The game is super polished, good job!

How many sheep can you fit? by Yngvarr 2023-10-03T20:25:24Z

Reminds me of Kao the Kangaroo 2 and the badgers  Real cute! Btw, I don't know if you realized, but you can trigger the "sheep now goes to the pen" from behind the pen, and the sheep will just navigate to the entrance. Woof!

Ink Souls by Neowedge 2023-10-03T17:24:43Z

Such a chill little game. I love how easily understandable is what to do.

Depthe by SleepyStudios 2023-10-20T12:38:56Z

Fantastic level design! I also love the audio and visuals. Great job on polishing it this much.

Mini Mason by NekuSoul 2023-10-13T00:32:20Z

This is a new kind of puzzle, very interesting idea. I loved it! I'm kinda curious how it would play if you could rotate the patterns/board. mini_mason.PNG It felt weird in the end to have nothing to do except for filling the last spaces with garbage xd The mid-game is the most satisfying. I also liked the bobbing of patterns if they matched, nice design choice.

Profits in Proportion by don.shinski 2023-10-03T18:41:57Z

Really cool idea. The color pallete is also limited, not only space ^^ Made some abominations and one cool one

Save the Tinyverse by azokal 2023-10-02T23:29:36Z

Really cool concept! And implemented well! I'm going to go back to this

Work Until You're Undead by Diego Escalante 2023-10-12T23:36:08Z

Gameplay is simple, but the audio, lighting and the fact that it goes harder and harder every second you can't find the last thing you need sets up a great mood.

Dwarf Looter by Matthieu Riboulot 2023-10-05T05:14:37Z

Holy shit, are those microtonal sounds? Or is it just detuned and I'm crazy? ^^ I like the soundtrack so much I'm distracted from gameplay  I don't know if that's good or bad xD Ok, I focused and got absolutely absorbed by the game. Spent a lot of time in it and at one point realized there is nothing new waiting for me and I'm unstoppable. And then I've found the demon prince and got completely destroyed. 10/10 Congrats on your jam!

Necr♥mantique by ukirain 2023-10-03T02:45:15Z

Short fun experience. I like that I didn't understand a thing (except controls) in the tutorial and had to come up with what is a good play and what is not. Great art!

Cosmic Carnage: Onslaught by Wargon 2023-10-03T21:52:42Z

Holy hell. The game looks and sounds amazing. The sprites, the animations, the lighting. And it plays well. Hopefully you'll work more on this later! By the way it is possible to finish it without shooting (but without holding space, so I guess it doesn't count ^^)

Threshold by Diralf 2023-10-03T00:06:20Z

Fun little game :) Loved the ending

Blockade Burst 95 by OwlyCode 2023-10-03T13:53:49Z

So fun, I would love to get better at this. The game gives of a real nice arcade vibe and looks great. I think it would be nice to be able to rotate the thing both ways.

Midnight Racers by LoicLeGrosFrere 2023-10-03T17:18:43Z

Yay, I won! It looks really great.

Burger Blitz by Euix 2023-10-03T16:30:55Z

That was quick and fun! Loved it!

Inside Out by Matootsy 2023-10-12T23:48:53Z

It worked on android! :robot: I had the same bug as the rest on windows. I love the art. The eyes in the menu are so cute!

Inside Out by Matootsy 2023-10-20T12:10:51Z

It works!

Jam-Pack by Plutonium Powered 2023-10-03T18:29:57Z

It's very polished. The game reminded me that the concept of winning in games is arbitrary as hell. I like the wobble.

Unlimited space by akitl 2023-10-02T23:01:05Z

Loved it! So chill. Sargento rastapatata is just beautiful. It's a shame this space is so... limited ^^ Would love more. (Oh my, I just realised how many of you worked on this, good job).

Bound Balance by imwonderr 2023-10-03T00:23:16Z

Beautiful art! I love how the tiles jerk a little when placed etc. xd

Pot Friends by Seong 2023-10-13T00:40:30Z

Funny, interesting idea. I like the vibe of graphics and music

Unlimited space by Recher 2023-10-04T19:55:06Z

I didn't know I knew french better than emoji, but "un moteur de jeux 2D, en python" is infinitely more understandable than "🧟🛤️🍐🌞🌵" ^^ So cool of you to make your own game engine! The ride was a bit exotic, but in a good way

Whiskers in the Dark by Diego Teran 2023-10-03T22:08:52Z

I like how there are no instructions needed, the levels just teach you what to do. Very atmospheric.

Natura by DzejPi 2023-10-03T20:05:14Z

It's a really cool concept! And cute! It obviously needs finishing, but I really like the idea. And you can build berry bush ladders!

HEXAK by Phillip Scott 2023-10-05T00:31:53Z

I had some trouble understanding what to do, but it finally clicked.

hexak_small.png And it turned out to be a chill, polished game. There are definitely some strategies that could do a lot more points. I would love to see a screenshot of something clever. I also need to say that I love how it looks, especially the lighted parts and the water tiles are super cool!

HEXAK by Phillip Scott 2023-10-05T01:42:12Z

Yeah, I don't think I can go a lot better than this: hexak2_small.png I'm posting this because I skimmed through the thread and I think it's actually a high score :sunglasses: Hexak is surprisingly fun!

Parry Hotter and the Stilosopher’s Phone by osh.studio 2023-10-03T22:50:25Z

Visuals are simply top notch. The gameplay is also great, a bit long, but fun mechanic!

Too Maneon Loots by lastuck 2023-10-04T21:42:58Z

You've got to be kidding me with the escaping trash xD From today, scrolls of destruction are my bestiest friends. I like the graphical effects of dying (in both ways). I really like the concept. Though I had a hard time judging what equipment is better, there is no time to learn this or it just feels too complicated. Otherwise, very fun! Btw, just so you know, the equipment tooltips are weirdly sized/placed in fullscreen. Are you trying to kickstart a new genre? Cyber-fantasy sounds awesome ^^

Suck it to Them! by AmberFall92 2023-10-04T04:22:41Z

Such a cool idea! And the game plays really well! Though it feels like it goes on forever without real danger. I like how even empty handed and surrounded I can just suck a bad guy and dash away. Music, sfx, graphics and animations are a real treat! Great job!

Escape from the clutches by Anton4ik-dev 2023-10-04T20:59:40Z

So cool! For the first few rounds it was difficult to win, but the queen plays the same way every time. After understanding the pattern, the fight was doable and winning felt great! I don't think the mechanic left much to explore, but for a small game like this it's awesome. Loved the music and sounds. And... probably a lot of people already said the art is great ^^

Card Hexchange by Arnazian 2023-10-03T01:07:01Z

Woah.. The music, the art, just beautiful <3 The candle as a turn signal (xD) is so cool. I also loved the card animations in midair. Spent a lot of time on this one. Game design is awesome, even though it gets repetitive after such time. The game begs for more content. I regret using that adrenaline shot + blood ritual combo on the boss, because I wanted to vibe a little bit with a new enemy ^^

Bit Golf by badcop 2023-10-13T02:58:55Z

While I was making my game I sometimes had you on my second monitor for company. The first day I felt kinda stressed (it is my first jam) and seeing you reading wikipedia on some random oversophisticated math instead of already working on code was soothing ^^ (I felt I was fine with my progress). I loved the creative concept behind your game, so I'm here now. And you managed to implement the concept fantastically! It was super fun! Even though I'm a bit mad that I couldn't get 3 stars on the last level  I love that you later added histograms and community levels, it added a lot to the experience. And to give you some actual feedback - I think you should add a way to exit the level back to the menu (or if it is there already, make it more obvious). Thanks for the jam!

disembARK by Crygos 2023-10-03T17:36:45Z

So much chaos ^^ I like the contrast between the silliness of presentation and the act of drowning hordes of animals. And don't tell me you can get a perfect score on this, no way xD

Morgue Mayhem by Mantsje 2023-10-03T17:11:48Z

I like the graphics and the lighting! And the creepy idea!

Bimbi's Cosmo Party by Frib 2023-10-02T23:57:03Z

This is not a genre I thought I would play today xD Loved the music!

Tower Up by BlackCat508 2023-10-03T14:17:47Z

Super fun! Interesting idea! Stressful xD Managed to go to 32 feet on second and third run. I would love to use the scrap blueprints and see what they do. I will come back to this.

Tower Up by BlackCat508 2023-10-03T15:30:45Z

Yeah, @blackcat508, I am aware, I will try later ^^

Gacha Fever by Falestress 2023-10-02T22:11:05Z

Fun! I love the music.

Purrrgatory by lumie 2023-10-03T01:19:10Z

Congratulations on finishing your first ldjam! Purrrrr

Snowlord by minjutin 2023-10-03T21:27:41Z

Hahah, amazing! I love the silly story! And the frowns! To be honest, all the aspects of the game are great :snowflake: Oh, for example, the color coding of numbers for quality of life. snowlord_small.png (definitely my first try, do not doubt that I grasped the concept immediately) Sorry for being so excited, but I really liked the game, and I played a lot of them today

Limited Space Cart by MajoMirez 2023-10-03T13:59:08Z

Fun small simple game. Surprising how you start playing by spamming, and gradually in the next runs you can actually strategize to get more score.

Infinite Square Well by orangeoceans 2023-10-03T01:37:49Z

Such a cool concept! And so funny writing and chill music and art. Love me some 4D limited space.

InvenStory by pro4 2023-10-03T02:25:15Z

Cute! It's always fun to infer tangible meaning from vague words in games. The puzzle mechanic is explored well, not too short, not too long. I had some trouble packing the australian inventory, but in the end I managed. Loved the music <3

Fill the crates ! by Flancon 2023-10-03T18:53:44Z

I'm in awe that you finished your first game jam while still struggling with coding. Great job! I hope you'll get more comfortable with it in the future.

Cramped - 3D Maze Escape by Onsson 2023-10-02T22:31:50Z

Insane. Couldn't do it, especially after 3 days of thinking. I loved the concept though and level design.

Lab Job! (Play In-Browser) by Smitner 2023-10-02T23:22:21Z

Loved it! The vibe is really nice and the puzzles are designed well. I like how it goes straight to action. However, this goes to bookmarks for later for I am too exhausted to think xd

FELL OUT by daveranan 2023-10-04T23:22:16Z

This was fantastic! I love the shading! It comes with great artstyle. Animations were super fun, especially the jerkiness ^^ Music sets this up perfectly. This feels like a lot for 72h tbh. And the writing. For some godforsaken reason it really got me xD Especially the unexpected one-liners like "his past was pretty dark ngl" and "oh that? that's just a god particle". I feel like I have to complain about Benji giving wrong directions to the tree (it's definitely not south-west). He made me find Barry the Barracuda instead and narrator said something about Windell and I started to feel lost. Especially because of how little of the sea the camera (otherwise being super fun) shows. But in the end it all come together.

How much space does your RAM have? by Gamester1128 2023-10-04T23:28:48Z

Jeremy is a great song though

Circular Nest by ShidyGames 2023-10-03T19:25:39Z

The sound effects are so good ^^ I really like the game mechanics / level design, it just plays super well and is satisfying! You struggle at the beginning, and then it's power fantasy.

Killstreak by wiru 2023-10-02T23:36:12Z

Congrats on finishing your first game jam! Great work!

Sip & Slime by JakJak 2023-10-03T20:54:29Z

It's super polished! I love the details like the design of the watering can. And it plays well, not a single objection! I like the possibility of planting veggies without having all the space for them at the moment.

Pocket Universe Snake by TheLastSlowpoke 2023-10-03T13:44:55Z

Thank you for playing, and your comments, and reviews! It's so fun to see your reaction! Regarding your advice - most of it I am aware of, I just prioritised polishing other things. Regarding your enthusiasm - <3 My friend just got to a whooping 84 (!) and made a photo of what life feels like when snacke. rtx_on.png It's so cool to see others come up with strategies I didn't think of.

By the way, this universe is not a sphere, the projection of it definitely looks like it, because the curvature is spherical. It's half a sphere connected to itself on the edges. And you can see the whole universe at once in any given moment (though the edges are just a little bit obstructed to look better).

Pocket Universe Snake by TheLastSlowpoke 2023-10-03T18:11:05Z

@don-shinski, @kennyklizzle There is no score during gameplay, because I realized it was distracting. If you need it super badly though, it should be in the browser developer console ^^ I'm glad you liked the game!

I would probably add it as an option if I were to make a release with fully explored concept.

Pocket Universe Snake by TheLastSlowpoke 2023-10-03T20:09:48Z

@bumble Glad you're experiencing it, because that's what I was aiming for! The universe is just a lot smaller than it seems.

Pocket Universe Snake by TheLastSlowpoke 2023-10-04T20:08:24Z

@recher Holy hell, hyperbolic sokoban is crazy xD Thanks for your comment! I'm not sure if I understand your suggestion correctly, but I think I did exactly that! Maybe it's easier to see that on my half-way-there prototype at https://thelastslowpoke.itch.io/ld54-36h-prototype (password: snake) if you want to check it out.

Pocket Universe Snake by TheLastSlowpoke 2023-10-05T02:42:16Z

@frib Nice. So now 75% of Bimbi's Cosmo Party's crew already played my game xD Y'all tireless. I played a lot of games myself and although it's absolutely fantastic to see what others came up with, if I were to play them back to back all day every day, I would definitely go insane. By the way, I loved your game, it's one of the most memorable ones ^^ I think it's one last game today. Dwarf Looter is already booted and I love the music coming from that tab @khelian! @matthieu-riboulot You either played my game simultaneously or someone is using two accounts to rate

Pocket Universe Snake by TheLastSlowpoke 2023-10-20T12:27:07Z

@croze space snake friends! You're right with the shape! The manifold you play in is not a complete sphere, it's half a sphere connected to itself on the edges. In fact, you can see the whole universe at the same time. Although the furthest points from you are not looking preety so I've kinda hidden them, so not exactly the whole universe.

Nice Park! by Barbabulle 2023-10-03T16:58:46Z

That was super funny! I really like the sound design and I really don't like the go-karts ^^

SokoSnake by imontheweb 2023-10-03T15:44:03Z

Geez, the first level was hard, my brain can't handle the second xD Great level design, though I feel like thrown in at the deep end. I love the art and the concept. Snake + sokoban and kinda tetris? (I made a snake too )

Fishpile by mina 2023-10-03T15:12:35Z

So fun to pile the fish! fishpile_small.png Preety art, relaxing music, preety game, relaxing game. I like how the color of the ocean changes with time. Self-explanatory, tutorial not needed. I love how fish are different gameplay wise in many categories (price, depth, shape, catching difficulty). Like for example, squids are worth a lot and are not that deep, but they are hard to catch and jump around the boat like crazy.

One of the three sharks I caught ended up in the ocean again  Wierdly enough it was the first one.

Ma|n|dness at shopping by andrei.gusan 2023-10-03T16:40:14Z

That was funny! I like how I thought in the tutorial that the movement was tedious, but it actually added to the experience xD

LD55 — Summoning

To do magic, please dance by Yngvarr 2024-04-24T08:11:40Z

I always have trouble with this kind of games - the HJKL controls really helped and I got my treat ^^ I love the models and these epic animations haha

Summon Bunnies by gamerjenn 2024-04-19T04:55:46Z

Hahahah, the game part of the game is so funny for me, especially that it confuses everyone. It's simple and easy, and well, you obviously went for the art. Both graphics and animations are gorgeous and cute and the background is also fun! Still giggling ^^

Replicate-You by loveapplegames 2024-04-30T15:49:09Z

That's so cool, definitely one of those different entries. More of a simulation/demo than a game, but I like what it simulates/demonstrates ^^ Good job tuning it so it works that well. The mechanics seem frame-dependent, it works super fast on my computer - it's difficult to take a single step and not overshoot, but I've seen the gameplay recording in the comments and it's a lot lot slower. Thanks for the experience!

Labyrinth of Fiends by jcbeaureg 2024-04-30T15:17:57Z

Good job on making a game! Everything works well, I bet the level generation was the most difficult part to do and it works great! I love the hud!

Demon Sealer by OwlyCode 2024-04-19T02:18:05Z

Wow, that was polished! I realy love the music, level design and animations. Great job! Invested from start to end (1607 02:43.35 / 46). One little tiny thing worth noting though - I think you should say somewhere that it's better to use a controler than a keyboard ^^ Keyboard controls are not that precise here, I was overshooting by pixels when trying to stand on a specific tile and it clicked a bit too late that I could switch it up. I get it that movement couldn't really be smoothened for one device considering the mechanics design, but a note to use a controller would help. Thanks for fun few minutes!

Dominion by Durrani19 2024-04-23T13:00:06Z

Awesome! Very cool idea and very cool execution! I love having growing hordes of minions. And it's beautiful, gj! One stuff thing I could highlight for you to think about: change button mashing to button holding - I think it would feel more natural (especially in the case of soul draining) and less fatiguing.

The Acolyte's Handbook by ditam 2024-04-23T12:04:44Z

Scored 3600 in the one only try. Very cool vibes. I love the style you went for. For some reason capital letters are hard to type. Actually, the game doesn't feel very responsive to typing in general, which is kinda frustrating in a game that wants you to type fast. I don't care though. Great job on delivering something cool in this limited time you had!

The Acolyte's Handbook by ditam 2024-04-30T12:27:56Z

I mean, if we're keeping scores... I feel kinda obligated to be first  simsalbimm.PNG You decide if it counts ;p

Ordinary Wizards Doing Ordinary Things by Fupi 2024-04-30T16:06:01Z

That was fun! Short polished game. Very funny, simple to pick up and just have fun. I like your "what I've learned" section ^^ And the music was fun, they did a great job!

Just Another Tuesday by Gus Goucher 2024-04-19T06:01:15Z

@catlard Oh huh thank you very much, I almost gave up on this one, and boy I would miss out! Mouse aiming doesn't work if controller is plugged in indeed, but the controller wasn't working for me either. I think it's the best game I played today. The flying eyes are hard to learn to fight melee, but other than that it plays really nice. I love the idea of weapon crafting like this. Whip, my beloved <3 so much ammo an so much range... The health indicator is pretty funny. Speaking of funny - telefragging the wizard summoning you? Lmao Music is a fantastic bop! The graphics and animations are on point (the dash effect feels so nice)! I don't know what else to say, I just like it a lot and I wish there would be a boss fight at the end (I feel like it was planned, wasn't it?)

Bad Rooms by kjscott 2024-04-30T16:20:14Z

It's not really obvious to press the right arrow to start ^^ When prompted, the first thing that comes to mind is a *start* button on a controller. I had fun though! It's not trivially easy and it's not super hard. I had noone to play with, but it would seem that it'd play very intense. I like the graphics!

Summoner's Emporium by imwonderr 2024-04-24T07:06:19Z

Cute lil game! I love the art! The models, animations, shader, other vfx and all that. Great job on choosing to spend your time to make a tutorial, it would be super confusing without it. With the tutorial I now produce more omni potions than I can sell and live happily ever after. It played nicely, great work!

Pulse of the Ethereal by DzejPi 2024-04-24T07:57:52Z

I love the music, haha! The Swallower got me. I definitely got caught off guard when I heard familiar melody (check it out: youtu.be/lWNOLqs1IPQ?feature=shared&t=34). Funny coincidence ^^ Let me try again. I did it! I like the difficulty level and length, works great! The rotators are my favourite :D And the bosses look awesome! The aiming is a little bit unintuitive (feels non linear? idk) - a cursor would definitely help. And the game's missing spicier feedback on getting hit - when you focus on the game you can easily miss it. Other than that it's fantastic! Great job! Music always on!

ClickerMant by DeltaMain 2024-04-30T15:03:20Z

Cool game! I really like the concept. I like that I had to understand by myself what every thing does and when I did I just won! The only thing I didn't get is what the "explosion" button on the right does ^^

Dr. Kappasigma's Summoning Training by Crygos 2024-04-24T08:39:03Z

Audio levels were all over the place. Fix it! Other than that that was pretty fun experience (: I liked the spinning circles one

Grand Court Summons by Frib 2024-04-30T16:49:50Z

Hahahahah! I love how unpolished it is! I really love the camera work and the level design. They're awesome and they'd feel amazing in a more polished everything else! The ramp is the pinnacle of this game ^^ The driving mechanic is insane, I was giggling for some time when I first tried it, but after some time it became tedious. I'm sorry to hear you had some trouble with export. And the music fits perfectly! Great job!

Demon Speedrunning! by BlackCat508 2024-04-19T03:13:24Z

Woah, thats so preety. I really love how it looks. And it's a really fun game overall! I know many people said here that they struggled with painting, but I'll add my insight anyway. It feels like your cursor is a bit "higher than the floor". It took me one run of wasted paint to understand that it paints below. Candles (and other items) do that too - they fall below of where you "feel you put them". I know it makes sense that you hold something over the floor, but it's confusing for players when they have to target the floor. I don't know if it's deliberate or oversight or whatever, I'm just trying to help you realize what the problem could be if you happen to need that. Regardless, it's not a big deal. There are a lot of mechanics here and the other ones feel great. I'm looking forward to see what you'll come up with next LD!

Demon Speedrunning! by BlackCat508 2024-04-19T06:43:18Z

I'm gonna be completely honest with you - I didn't realize those are hands ^^ I tought of it like of an indicator of what is interactive and I thought it should just be on some item closest to cursor. Sometimes it felt weird near boxes. I played it again and it feels better when I know that those are hands. I can see now why it works the way it works and why you happen to make it like that. It's funny how sometimes stuff like this happens when making games. You have a fun idea like working with hands, but it turns out it obscures controls or something. Btw I just thought of a fun way to make the painting more intuitive - just hold the brush upside down! Tweak the size/length of it and where it is held so that the tip would point exactly where the splotch shows up.

YABS by Solis 2024-04-19T08:46:23Z

I love the idea and the game's beautiful, so it's painful for me to say that I couldn't finish it. The controls are clunky and many parts of the level are sometimes working, sometimes not (especially boxes). Combined with the lack of a reset button (sometimes I have to wait a whole minute to start again) and it's enough frustrating. Sooo, the good parts now! Fantastic models and pretty lighting and the music theme is very funkey. Funny dialogs, characters and the story. The tutorial part is very fun! Please tell me what YABS stands for. Yet Another... BS? ^^

Hat vs Evil by minjutin 2024-04-24T09:35:54Z

That was fun! I thought I've read the guide thoroughly... It turned out I didn't realize for some time that I don't have to defend the circle frantically from every enemy. It felt really difficult until that moment, and then came the chill part :D I would love to know from the beginning how many levels there'll be. I guessed it, but I would want to be able to estimate when it'll end a bit more confidently. I love the end screen! And the title screen! And the guide ^^ Chuckled on every one of them. The unhinged humour really got me. Fun little entry! Btw somehow the green tower person doesn't show up very much :p

Occultris by stesim 2024-04-19T08:04:25Z

Fun idea! I feel like there is too much upgrade runes and I just had to rush through them to get anything spawned, but other than that cooooool!

Trouble in Emoji Plane by TheLastSlowpoke 2024-04-19T03:37:28Z

@azure-drake Touché haha. I am well aware of that design problem. I suppose adding some cooldown should help, but it's not the smallest issue to rethink here.

Trouble in Emoji Plane by TheLastSlowpoke 2024-04-30T12:00:04Z

@loveapplegames They spawn demons under themselves. They're worth it if they live a little longer. They're less likely to get targetted if the cops have more demons to shoot at. Thanks for playing!

@fupi I think you're the target audience, hahah! Great score! I owe you an explanation about what you experienced. The skulls are supposed to fly gracefully to their targets, and the shots are supposed to be visible. I just made a weird, embarassing mistake, buckle up: I realized that when I have thousands of demons, the game slows down. Obviously the game would slow down for everyone at some point. I've already optimized a lot properly (ignoring the Godot servers I decided I have no time to learn) so I wasn't motivated, I had other priorities to work on in the time I had got left. It would drop off at some point anyway. So I've made a quick and dirty chaotic solution that kinda works. I made a bullshit detector of the game slowing down, and faster modes of display. The detector works by counting "slow frames" (longer than some threshold) and if there's sufficiently many of them it changes the mode. The solution felt so funny to me that I left it in. People will only see it when they play really well and it's not a problem then so I thought. Later I checked the game on my phone, and it went to faster modes almost instantenously. It should've made me think that someone is gonna have a slower apparatus or something and is going to get confused. But it didn't, I had other priorities in the game. Anyway, the fastest mode doesn't display skull flight, any pop-ups (don't worry about it) and the shot animations... It actually changes the game itself a little bit. In hindsight, I should've at least left the shots, they're not slow at all and lack of them is confusing as hell. It's not a bug, It's an honest mistake ^^ Stuff like this can happen when you have limited time and do some stuff whimsically. And yes, I had a lot of fun while making it ^^

(FYI: skulls go hit the target closest to the centre, demons spawn skulls periodically, squids spawn demons periodically)

@fupi @sstyles93 I know it's not greatly conveyed, but the game is supposed to end after 5:00 shows up on a clock. The [guys] showing up and killing everyone are just a means to do it. The normal cops wouldn't scale as good as a player can, so something stronger is needed. Good job on getting to the [guys]! (I'm not naming them, I have no good name haha. They're not even named in code, cause it's just a reskin. In the first conception it'd be the Doom Guy ripoff, and I think that's incomparably cooler)

Void Beast by Azure Drake 2024-04-19T04:42:45Z

Pretty character art! I like the dialog tree. Cool idea with climbing! I love to use the wall jumping to cross large gaps, although it makes walking stairs a lot harder :D I got softlocked ^^! If you get to the top and go right (over the fire crystal) you just can't go back. I guess I shouldn't go where there's no grass  Also, I feel like it needs some controls explanation. And the camera work was a bit frustrating, especially if I needed to look where I'm dropping down. Congrats on your LD entry!

TNT Summoning Master!!!!! by Bx007 2024-04-16T21:00:36Z

Hahah, very cool! The mechanics are well polished, they feel very intuitive. I like the levels too, especialy the more difficult last two ones. A bit harder that that and it would feel frustrating, so it's perfect. Congrats on your first ludum dare!

Vampire Summoners by DenisMarasan 2024-04-23T13:31:48Z

Hahah, that's a fun idea for a game! Let me try again. Przechwytywanie.PNG Damn, the scaling is crazy. It's totally possible to go for 10 million. Funny strat I used - spawn more enemies just before the dynamite blows up under a horde following you, and have your ball and run ready to get away from those new enemies. A million a minute, just don't take heavy hits. Awesome game, great work!

(edit: It just so happens that I had to try a few more times, but couldn't actually survive the whole 5 minutes that way, always made some mistake Przechwytywanie.PNG )

AquariumHunter by Jcourt 2024-10-24T06:10:51Z

This is a very interesting concept! I am pretty sure I experienced the evolution of fishes (there was an influx of blue ones that were very perceptive and fast). But it soon stopped matter, because my crayfish was equipped with exploitive brain powers and realized that the edges of the aquarium make some fishes escape in the wrong way, and the floor is an edge where additionally a lot of fishes would pile up for a nap. I love how the game looks and feels, great job!

Little Life by ratly 2024-10-24T06:39:35Z

Wow, I'm blown away, this is a really cool concept! I like that it counts your moves, so the levels don't devolve into "wait until everything disappears or settles, then go". From that emerges gameplay of navigating between everchanging walls just to get a little bit closer to the exit. I like the starting conditions of levels, they're designed really well.

I think it's the first time I see a virus depicted with a happy face next to a lot of angry, violent cells. I like the perspective ^^

Space Oyster Mining Company by irwatts 2024-10-24T02:23:04Z

Looks unreal ^^ I like the little touches like the "fifteen minute break" on pause. Nice!

Cellspace: Cellular Automata Sandbox by loveapplegames 2024-10-23T19:09:09Z

Wow, such a cool engine. It would be amazing if there were some puzzle levels with clear win conditions that are detected by the game, and some constraints of what you could do. I'd love to melt my brain over that.

Tossed and Found by SleepyStudios 2024-10-24T01:55:56Z

Wow, that's a really good puzzle game, I love the mechanics! The level design is very satisfying too! It is buggy in some places, mostly with crabs, but it didn't make me appreciate the game less. Actually it is awesome that people exploit it to speedrun! The track is a bop, and the sprites and animations are very cute. Great job!

Sewer Tales by Matthieu Riboulot 2024-10-23T21:44:01Z

It's just beautiful. The art, the music. Composes really well with the chill gameplay. Amazing work!

Highway Crossing Frog by jcbeaureg 2024-10-24T00:42:01Z

You've put a lot of points into the Humor stat. Definitely worked on me! I also love the models and animations, they're really good! Crossing the river on the logs felt illegal.

Kopeng run! by OwlyCode 2024-10-23T19:51:09Z

Very solid entry! Endless runner game was actually my first idea when I saw the theme (only that I envisioned a side-scroller), so I'm glad I could play one. Although it's going to feel weird for me, I want to say what I would change in it. I think I would change controls to mouse so it could support fair movement on faster speeds. And I would check out how the song behaves if it was speeding up with the level, I think that could be cool! Surprisingly polished for a compo, great job!

Kopeng run! by OwlyCode 2024-10-23T22:08:04Z

@owlycode Oh, great! It would seem we do think even more alike hahah. Maybe you could import all the distinct sounds into godot and glue them up there? It would not deform the samples in any way when changing the tempo. They could overlap weirdly though, but I think it maybe could work.

Hamster Hamilton's Cardboard Quest by Yaen 2024-10-24T03:05:42Z

Succession by ditam 2024-10-24T00:06:58Z

Very atmospheric. The ambient music you chose, the impressive wording and the story, the polygonal flat-shaded visuals that remind me of classic flash games...

Snail Trivia Race by GameDevTraum 2024-10-24T03:28:25Z

Ooooo, I very much like the questions! I wish the pool wouldn't reset every try, because I had only one shot at winning without feeling like I'm cheating ^^ The snails are cute... Overall, very polished game, and very original genre in this event.

Tiny Skweek plays Breakout by Recher 2024-10-24T01:23:58Z

I did not expect a resource management game from this ^^ The fact that the walls are not recovering between levels, but you need them to grow in size is making the game really interesting! You probably know this, but your engine is very impressive!

Swirlymon: Spiral Out of Control! by Corrupt Spaghetti 2024-10-24T05:39:02Z

Nice little point-and-click, cute concept, pretty drawings, funny. A minute or two well spent, thanks!

Dreadzone by DzejPi 2024-10-23T18:14:09Z

Loved it!

I've played Natura and Pulse of the Etheral and, as you said, it's probably your best entry yet. It's just simply fun! I'm glad you focused on plain gameplay. My best entry (a year ago) I did exactly that. I'm sorry you had troubles with exporting the web version. I've never experienced gamebreaking exporting problems with godot yet, but I know how it is sometimes. If you say that it could be even better, I am definitely looking forward to your next jam!

jp.PNG The director was really good! Enemies and drops spawned right when I needed them to spawn. There is only one slightly unbalanced downtime (two distinct moments around before the minigun spawn). Making the enemies stupid fast to assure the end of the game was a great idea to. I also need to mention how the first automatic weapon felt like a godsend ^^

I feel it kinda needs an option to change mouse sensitivity, but otherwise the controlls were on point. I love the music that you make! Aaaand I think that's all I've got to say right now xD

Dreadzone by DzejPi 2024-10-23T21:15:20Z

@dzejpi To be frank, I haven't fooled around with 3D godot a lot yet, maybe it's somewhat less cooperative. I can't blame you for sticking to godot 4, it just wants you to work with it! I left unity behind like a year ago and dipped my toes in godot and I don't feel like looking back. I was in love from the start when realized how it is structured and how it wants you to structure your project. It's just clean. I know it's not a really good analogue of going from godot 3, but I just wanted to share some love for the engine ^^ Btw, if you don't mind me asking, where are you from? I'm from Gdańsk and I have some reasons to believe you're not that far from me ^^

Pied Piper's Payback by Crygos 2024-10-24T01:06:29Z

How cruel! How could they not pay him? Great whimsical dark humor game. I really like the sfx! Lots of small nice touches, like the story being presented in a book. A tiny request from me though, please don't skip texts automatically next time, thanks!

Very cool entry! I wish I could start from the level I fumbled on, the begining feels tedious after the high of later levels. I had trouble discerning colors tbh, some were super similar, at least for me. Otherwise it plays great and I love the idea!

Pseudopseudopodia, or amoeba walking simulator by TheLastSlowpoke 2024-10-23T20:44:07Z

@dzejpi Thanks! If I remember to do so, I'm going to write you something about how I did it. Right now though, I have a list of games to play, because I would like to climb to those 20 ratings received and actually show my amoebas to someone (busy night ahead of me). I kind of neglected that in the last weeks because of irl priorities ;/ Anyway, my solution to these amoebas is no rocket science and I'm actually new to creating procedural stuff like this. There is a ton of room to improve and I learned a lot. It's also a bowl of spaghetti code because, of course, I was in a hurry xd

Pseudopseudopodia, or amoeba walking simulator by TheLastSlowpoke 2024-10-24T16:20:40Z

@jellyfishhunter The game resets when you eat it, that's the intended behaviour (I think I said it in the itch description). So you did it! I know that it's a confusing behavior of the game, but it is more or less an easter egg and afterthought. I haven't made a sophisticated detection of who eats who and if whole, and there is also no appropriate response for that.

Ultimate Tic Tac Toe (Buggy Style) by Silliest Goose 2024-10-24T05:28:50Z

I tried to do best moves for both sides and I actually played myself. It looks like the ultimate tic-tac-toe is a promising game, and I like your buggy implementation! Nice little game.

Refinerator by Jimbly 2025-04-24T19:53:31Z

Loved it! Once I understood it's language, the game have put me in a different state of mind. I was thinking in terms of patterns in coal and stone transcending the visuals, inputs and my mortal shell. I other words, I locked in ^^ I love it when a game puts me in this kinda flow. Great mechanic! If you're wondering: perfect on first try :sunglasses:

AdventureGen by loveapplegames 2025-04-22T17:46:22Z

Another insane project from you!

It's a blast to see what you've cooked every time. Even though the actual games generated are inherently soulless and not really of any value, it's a fun sandbox you can explore and exploit.

Gnoccholini Droppotini by Dudum Lare 2025-04-23T19:57:56Z

You peeps are crazy to do this in plain html hahah! Congrats on your first jam! It's a bit on the difficult side. It plays differently on different resolutions and it's easy to break, but I guess that's the nature of this medium. The layer mechanic is interesting. Good job!

Continental Shelf by cassowary 2025-04-23T19:15:17Z

Wow, you made a super polished game, great job! I like the gimmick and your level design. It looks very cozy and I loooove the music! It's actually a perfect length for a jam game in my opinion. I'm impressed that you're using your own engine and how much you've made in just 40h. Congrats!

The Dig by ditam 2025-04-22T18:09:05Z

The "score" is confusing, it suggests that you as a player could do better or worse, but to me it seems random. The story, art and audio are great, but I have trouble understanding what's going on mechanics-wise.

Murder for Dessert by Fupi 2025-04-22T19:36:38Z

Holy hell, that was amazing!

Super polished, congrats. I could literally point out anything and say that it was great. Dialogs, art, music, mechanics and all that. It was a litle bit confusing for me which way the related lines should go (from whom to whom) and I died on the first try, even though I used some hints. Oh yeah, hints, what a great feature to add to your game, thank you very much. I got stuck a few times, but I liked the difficulty anyway.

Hats off.

Rooted Deep by DzejPi 2025-04-22T16:33:57Z

Oh, that's ambitious! A lot of systems to do in two days. Impressive! Loved it.

I love how the goal is clear from the start (and somewhat optional), but you can take different roads there. Let me outline my road, which was exploring-and-chilling-oriented. First, I checked out everything on the computer. I planted one pot of every species to check out how they look like and behave. Not being sure what plant gets you better profits (the cheap one felt faster), I didn't focus on a single one. I upgraded their pots and doubled down on plants. I didn't feel like spending a lot of time outside, so I only bought a profit upgrade. I realized that the upgrade probably wasn't worth it and that I'm already on a realistic pace to the ticket outside. I watched my plants and the environment, analyzed the upgrades, and took off. Then I saw that it was timed, and I appreciated how it is not trivial what the fastest strategy is. Nevertheless, I decided I don't feel like speedruning, I liked the experience for what it was.

I loved the atmosphere, the graphics, the general idea of this game (and the splash screen that is insane quality for ludum dare). That crazy bug didn't bother me much, even though I got launched real far away in an instant once, and was very close to not making it back on time (it was exciting and funny ^^). What I would want of this game is a mouse sensitivity option, the default is way to low for me and my movement felt kinda hindered and clunky because of that. The upgrades could do with a little bit of balancing, but tbh, for a game like this, it would always be the case whatever you would do.

Oh, and I feel a need to apologize to you for not sharing with you how my last dare's amoebas work. It just so happened that the next day after my game rating marathon I got hit by weird ass heart issues (the health kind, not the romantic kind, lmao) and it was super-super scary and it stole a few months of my abilities to focus on anything else. It's a lot better now though (never underestimate the power of sleeping regularly, damn). What I want to say is, I didn't forget. I want to find a moment to get over my chaotic nature and write to you one day, when I'm hopefully done with all of the more pressing matters. Cheers!

Temple of Hands by coyotethursday 2025-04-23T18:18:02Z

Nice, that felt great. If you add steam achievements I'll go for hitless ^^

Painball by AmberFall92 2025-04-22T21:14:49Z

Very interesting entry! I don't remember stumbling upon a pinball with buildable level and some economy for that, and it works really well! I believe there are too many "balls" to get, it is too easy to have infinite points, you just have to have patience, I think it would work better with just the starting three. Anyway, it looks great, plays exceptionally well, and overall, awesome!

Knocking On Hell's Door by Frib 2025-04-22T20:02:17Z

I needed that. Lots of fun, thanks. It's funny how the least flashy weapon (the minigun) is the most powerful for me. I would say well done, but it's medium rare. Good thing I love medium rare. Congrats!

Oh, I forgot to add, very thoughtful of you to add the mouse sensitivity option, great job!

Deeper by BlackCat508 2025-04-22T20:20:30Z

That is amazing for 8 hours. It is easily on par for a 72h event, which I find insane. Super polished, plays super well, looks great, great vibes. Short and entertaining experience. I like how it feels unfair at some points, makes it scarier.

Down Under by TheLastSlowpoke 2025-04-22T20:43:47Z

Down Under by TheLastSlowpoke 2025-04-23T13:59:32Z

@cassowary

Thanks for your praise and feedback!!!

We had a debate about controls, and we decided that we prefer the backwards-when-going-down controls, because they feel very natural when going sideways and upwards. The other way around would feel nice in long vertical corridors, but would be completely confusing in the other directions and overall would subjectively feel worse. We conjectured that most gamer brains would quickly snap into understanding of the first option, around the first few curves. We didn't find any options with smaller drawbacks, and accepted that it will feel weird at the beginning for most, and maybe for the whole game for some.

Down Under by TheLastSlowpoke 2025-04-23T19:13:41Z

@dudum-lare

Thanks!!!

It was actually my fourth jam, the "first time" is about me working in a team (the previous ones were solo). Wallted was jamming for the first time though. I guess the description can be a bit unclear. See you in half a year hahah!

Lost in the Depths by ViraPyon 2025-04-23T16:55:40Z

Holy hell, that was challenging, especially the last part. But I did it! Thank you for featuring checkpoints, it would be frustrating without them. It was very fun! I loved the mechanic gimmick. What I would like to be added, is some kind of indicator how far is to the end, the game felt endless without it. Great job!

CONFESSION by pavlov36 2025-04-22T14:40:00Z

Nice!

The story hooked me, you've built an interesting atmosphere. I'm a bit disappointed that's you couldn't finish on time, but I know how it is and what was done is great. Have you thought of switching to the 'Jam' format when you realized that you don't have enough time? Btw I think you should have quickly written up some excuse on the black screen, because it's confusing without it.

Anyway, I really liked the compass puzzle, I don't recall stumbling upon a similiar minigame before. Also, fancy theme interpretation. Was this your first jam? Great job!

Devour by ScoobySnacks 2025-04-22T14:56:14Z

Hahah, nice!

I love how you learn through playing (for example, on the first few hunts I didn't realize you could get more than one prey at the time, but I quickly asked that question and found the answer myself). I like how it's not too long, it's just right. You nailed the atmosphere too.

DeepBoulder by loveapplegames 2025-10-24T15:04:38Z

Nice, that's very fancy! I've found that the bigger levels can be incredibly difficult. Really great job on the technical level! And using your engine from a year ago... That is putting a smile on my face. The project feels very, very complete, which is not a small thing to mention in a jam.

The Sand Thief by Matthieu Riboulot 2025-10-24T14:11:09Z

Oh man, the music, sound design, artstyle and animations are from another world. You're really talented. I also loved the level design!

I'm very slightly disappointed you don't get an appropriate ending if you don't kill anyone, feels like it should be there. Unless we're counting the souls I took on the first try ^^

I checked both the standalone and the web versions to compare them. The music tempo changes are a fun idea!

Very beautiful entry, great job!

The Sand Thief by Matthieu Riboulot 2025-10-24T14:44:42Z

@matthieu-riboulot xDDD nice.

Ok, I get it now. It was not obvious for me that those are the memories/time of *others*. It is obvious if you actually stop and think about it, you're called a thief for a reason ^^ I love that little bit of obscurity though, better be a little bit too mysterious than to spoon-feed everything and leave no space for interpretation.

The Sand Thief by Matthieu Riboulot 2025-10-25T05:53:34Z

@matthieu-riboulot

Uh, I'm sorry to hear that you're not satisfied. I don't remember how many stars I gave you, but for sure they were over average on every single category (but tbh I feel like I'm doing over average for everyone ^^).

I feel like worse results could come down to 'innovation' dragging down the rest, the core idea of 'just a platformer' could make the rest feel worse. The 'collector' theme we got this season sucked in my opinion, and I feel like collecting stuff around a map was a common trope this jam (I'm not sure because I played only like 7 games this season), so it could feel boring. You can see that these are your worst categories, they weren't your focus this time, but they may have impacted 'fun', 'overall', and 'mood'. The gimmick of fighting with time didn't feel very impactful to me, because it was too easy, I never felt in danger, so it plays as a very beautifully packed, smoothly working, just a classic platformer, nothing as *interesting* as some other games.

Grim analysis aside, I really loved it! I explored every nook and cranny over a few runs and had much fun!

I know you had some crazy results before and you had high expectations, but having two categories over 4.0, one top 100, and 360th overall are definitely good results. Moreover, with just ~30 ratings on each game you're bound to have some random variance depending on what raters you'll get. For example I tend to rate high ^^ I've also played the Sewer Tales and the Dwarf Looter (I'm yet to check out the others, I really like your games!), and in my opinion the Dwarf Looter was the best of the three. Do whatever you wish with that information xD

Anyway, to me, the comments are worth much more than the ratings. Don't let the numbers get in your head, game jams are not really about them, are they?

The Legend of the Mondrokko by ditam 2025-10-24T15:20:22Z

The poisonous mushrooms idea was a very good one, and I liked the ending! Congrats on a polished jam entry!

Skeledaddler! by Catusfelony 2025-10-24T16:35:39Z

Oh wow, astoundingly perfect! I had a great time speedrunning the levels while humming the theme! (Still running in the back while I'm writing this, I love it! The xylophone tiptoeing around me in cirles is \**chef's kiss*\* ^^)

Great idea for a game! And you made it absolutely gorgeous looking, amazing sounding, with fantastic level design, including the level progression, it plays really smoothly, and is polished and cohesive as heck. Had a lot of fun! Oh and yes...

skeledaddler.PNG :)

For me, level 7 was probably the most difficult to get thumbs. People seem to have trouble with level 14, but it was alright for me (wasn't too easy - felt like a final level, but wasn't too hard, I came up with a route and just did it, all the precise kicking is at the beginning anyways).

Skeledaddler! by Catusfelony 2025-10-25T04:42:47Z

@fupi

Oh, that makes a lot of sense that the arc length (and accuracy btw) is a bug  It felt like kicking is a lot more difficult than the rest of the game ^^ Congrats on awesome results!

Gobblin' Günther by Crygos 2025-10-24T17:26:35Z

Oooh, that's a really difficult one for me, and I've played some difficult jam games (as we all did). I can't seem to learn how to damage control, and I seem to have no patience to play in slow mo ^^. One mistake, especially one that pushes you to the edge, and you're done for. This is my best shot after a few tries that were worse than Garry:

I was like "yeah, 'realistic' is probably reasonable to choose". Oh boy. You haven't scared me from it enough...

compliance.PNG

I have enjoyed it, thanks! The three "actual gameplay levels" were taking me a lot of tries, especially the second one, but were a lot of fun!

What I really loved (praise time):

Your meta humor, you made me snicker a lot! Outstanding, and really fitting music! Fun enemy and level sprite diversity. Challenging level, weapon and AI design that made me think of complex strategies to get through the game.

What I'd complain about (feedback time):

I feel like ammo counter should be necessary here. And a crosshair which is not just a vanilla system cursor. There is a tragic issue with buggy walls and doors (some collision shenanigans), making the game feel unfair, especially in the second "actual gameplay level" (girl mauled in the bathroom, big guys, snipers). There is some weird thing with frames, it's visible the most when you move the character in one direction and the crosshair in the other (something something drawing frames / physics frames I guess). Weapons shoot a bit to the right (directly in the direction the player is facing, even though they are not shooting from the player's face), which feels weird, especially before you realize that ^^

All that didn't stop me from having fun though! I feel like you definitely know some of these issues already anyway ^^

I know it hurts when you realize you overscoped, but you did really good with what time you had left and delivered a really fun experience! (Apparently an hour long one, which is crazy for a jam game).

Jars for the Collector by BlackCat508 2025-10-24T10:55:05Z

Wow, that is beautiful! I love all the effects and details, like how the jar content changes visually. And the collector's design! Great level of polish and cohesiveness. I love the humor, especially the   S N I F F . The gameplay mechanics' complexity was not your focus this time, but it wasn't an issue at all. I really enjoyed that there were multiple endings! (I have found 3, is that all of them?). The last request took me really off guard, great idea there ^^ Somehow I did it first try, really felt like I'm fighting for my life.

Call Hector, Organ Collector by TheLastSlowpoke 2025-10-10T11:45:56Z

@ryusui

Glad you liked it!

Yeah, we wrongfully left the difficulty balance for the last minute and in the chaos it was hard to get out of the "I'm not taking into account that I'm a dev *enough*" pitfall. That being said, the brain difficulty is exactly where we wanted it to be. What is not polished is that we failed to convey through the game that the organs are in fact difficulty levels, not consecutive stages. We think of them as "tutorial, normal, hard, stupid hard", and in the game it seems like it could be "stage 1 -> stage 2 -> stage 3 -> stage 4", so the lungs feel not satisfying enough to beat.

The brain is not luck based though (unless you have a veeery bad luck, but I won't go into details). Slowing down by waggling is a very good strategy, and it makes me very happy that you came up with it! But the brain has, as you said, too few matching *donors* for this to work. The heavily optimized strategy for the brain is to go as fast as you can and capitalize on the starting blood. That alone will not get you to the end, so you have to get some donors on the way, but without sacrificing speed to much. So you should only scan the donors that you can feasibly get and that you will scan before you get there - aim high, ignore donors that are too close or ones that have other donors in the way, be biased towards scanning many donors with one scan.

If you want some behind-the-scenes numbers from the top of my head, here you go. Gunning as fast as you can without taking any donors will get you to around 60-70% of the level. You need like 6 donors to get to the end. There are at least 12 donors of 0 blood type (it is not completely random), and the slower you go, the more there can be.

We, playing it after the jam, found out that with good luck you can even get away with one wrong donor. The very few times that we didn't manage we could relate to not being skillful enough that run. It is fair, just unreasonably difficult to not be a bonus level in such a short game. And nothing in the game suggests that it in fact is.

PS. Hahah, I don't know what ZZZ is, but Bangboos definitely have a similar gaze. I hope we haven't destroyed your perception of them forever ^^

@ryusui Guess what, we did exactly this ^^ We have batches of 20 donors, and for every batch, 6 donors has the 0 blood type. And you literally can't die from jar emptying out before you get through the first batch. It is not pure random, it's a gambler's fallacy world for guaranteed consistency, just as yours.

@d3kryption

Hahah, thanks for playing!

Yeah, there were so many people eager to join! The core of the team was like 6 people, but in the credits we included everyone that was happy to help with some stuff, and there were plenty of those too. Before the event my brain was fried trying to visualize what is going to happen, but somehow everything slid into place naturally. Everyone took the challenge seriously, we just shifted into the highest gear for the whole event, and we were in constant dialogue. I'm so proud of how friendly the atmosphere was! We made a lot of organizational mistakes, but we were apparently flexible enough. And I have to mention some insane merge conflicts that we fought this weekend ^^ Compared to the last time, when we did "a pair of programmers + an artist" kinda setup, it was completely different, soooo calm compared to this weekend's insanity.

I've done some solo jams too, before anyone got interested. The experience of working in a team is very different, I'd say it's a breeze of fresh air after a few of solos. Maybe sometime you'll find a team as well. Sorry but I won't share, I treasure them too much

Super Glop Arcade by loveapplegames 2026-05-08T11:10:57Z

Dude. You've got some insane projects in the oven. The Webcogs readme was a really fun read. This test ride was a success I think. The games didn't crash, bug out, they had a working victory condition etc. But strictly from a player perspective... they are honestly not much fun. Like two of the 9 games are somewhat playable - they're an actual test of skill, but simple and frustrating anyway. And like five of them I consider impossible, even with good rng. The Generative Gungeon is doing somewhat better - still frustrating, instant deaths on spawn etc., but has some interesting qualities like the map layouts and interactive elements. That out of the way... I still consider this a success for the framework. I'm thinking about how I was once trying to force an LLM to make a valid 4x4 sudoku grid and gave up. This is really impressive and it may lead somewhere very useful. I haven't a clue how on earth to think about this, but you may try to include some organized feedback input to the project, so you could playtest and complain about balance? I don't intuit well how it works, I'd love to see the "codebase" for these games. My biggest personal feedback for all of these games - I would love to be able to consistently move one cell at a time. I'm zooming past doors like crazy. I don't know if the generated code had to do anything with this, maybe it's a thing to consider in the cellular game engine of yours. That and/or slow everything down. Maybe it has variable speeds on different setups and I am just in a disadvantage? Crazy stuff from you again, glad I managed to check this out before the deadline ^^

Round-a-doodle-doo by Fupi 2026-05-07T19:56:37Z

Cute! And very polished, great job! Loved the artstyle, the organic sfx, and the music - it all works really well together and creates a cozy atmosphere.

Don't get cross with me, but I really *have* to point out that it has as much in common with the concept of a roundabout as Balatro with a concept of poker  As a driver, my expectations were subverted a few times in a row and I found it really funny.

Loved the chicken nuggies joke ^^

Round-a-doodle-doo by Fupi 2026-05-08T12:39:25Z

@fupi I just googled roundabouts in Brazil and I get it now, it's just a cultural thing ^^ I have a very different relationship with them. Anyway, don't worry about it ^^

EDIT: I just had a shower and realized this may sound like I consider all Brazilians stupid xD I don't!!! What I'm saying is, I drive different roads, and you drive different roads, so we have different traffic understanding models in our minds. I got slightly whiplashed when starting the game, and found it funny, and it was very ignorant of me infer that you don't drive. What I experienced was the difference in our models! I'm from Poland btw. I am aware that people drive differently in different places, for example Italian driving is ridiculous for me (I've been a few times there). Hell, in Warsaw we have traffic infrastructure that I would consider insane, and wherever you are in Poland you can tell if someone is visiting from Warsaw, because they drive so differently (this and the licence plate ^^). I'm pretty sure that on the other side of the globe differences in driving culture are far from subtle. Anyway, don't worry about it

Awaiting Response by DzejPi 2026-05-07T16:02:21Z

Holy shit that was creepy, I even got goosebumps! Great job! On the first two runs I never felt in control, and the audiovisuals complemented the confusion about the rules amazingly. The description I had read before the game had set me up very well, and I enjoyed the heck out of it. (I very much took the "don't overthink it" seriously ). I have to admit though, that I believe it is easy to bounce off of the game if you don't embrace the confusion.

On the first run I only went out of the first stage after exploring every nook and cranny, then promptly got very confused as to "what is the puzzle with these screens", but got out not much after I've seen the door, and then I lost on the long corridor. On the second run I skipped the button and the screens, and although I picked up the phone, in the "geometry room" I finally kinda understood the premise and completely ignored the square things on the floor and won. Didn't turn around ^^ (nice voicelines btw). I spent the next few runs on exploring the game and blasting it open, finally allowing myself to overthink it. Fun stuff. Although, I couldn't crack what's up with the balloon room, I am still creeped out in confusion by this one.

Small stuff I'd change: - the mouselook feels uneven between the X and Y axes, is it scaled with the viewport ratio maybe? - the chromatic aberration is to strong on the text imo, on the edge of being too hard to read (on fullscreen) - literally that's it

I'm so glad you did this one, I was afraid you may be done after you skipped the last LD. I too feel old lately ^^ Remember you can switch to Jam category if you feel like you're stretching yourself too much, and touch up on Monday. You're actually crazy fitting those entries of yours in 48h, chapeau bas.

Terminal Espionage by Frib 2026-05-07T18:54:23Z

Hahah, what a nerdy entrance. Very on point to give this to some programmers to play. I liked the learning phase, going through the help system and imagining what I would use for what. I didn't need to use the itch tutorial at all, until one point - when I looked at the circles and thought I have to calculate the exact position of the intersection from the numbers. I thought that can't be right, and the itch tutorial told me bluntly that I should eyeball it (I haven't switched on any DRA yet, so I didn't know their linesights are drawn). I then swiftly managed to do next tasks until I hit the "bug wall" I guess. Exactly the same one as Aurel300 did, I think: the 1650kHz base seems dead. I was smart enough to check out the comments for bugs ^^ Anyway, even though it's a little bit underdone level-wise in comparison to the time needed to learn, the game goes hard and I had my share of fun from it.

PS: the date localizes xD

Signal Catching by BlackCat508 2026-05-08T09:11:31Z

Oh wow, that was challenging (in a good way)! Got 16 380 on my run. The flukes in frequency of incoming purples is what got me every strike, they're tough to do quickly enough. I wish you could see both colors coming on the double signal. Not seeing what's coming made it more rng, but I guess more exciting too? Anyway, the replayability is kinda low, I did one run and I know I've seen everything. But it doesn't have to be high in a jam game, does it? The game looks really beautiful and I loved the experience. And the interactive tutorial - holy shit that is a good idea. Congrats on polishing it too, despite not having much time - the game feels complete.
