Visual style is good, but it's not work in full screen mode
Thanks for the feedback - what browser do you use @leyronmirox? At least here under Chrome in Windows fullscreen works.
Wow, the mood of this game is truly impressive. I wanted to feel like I had a little more control, but otherwise, super happy. Great job.
Interesting game. I really like the story of the game and how you played with words there. Also, the art is amazing, great job!
What an incredible game, it has very good animations, and visually it is very pretty. I think it's a very good idea, keep working on it! I wish I could play it more with a story in the style of games like inside and limbo :)
Really clever idea!
Very cool animation and atmosphere, good job, you are cool 😌
Very cool! Getting a nice LIMBO vibe!
I really like the art!
The atmosphere impressed me! I liked the view and sound effects. The story must go on! =) Good job.
I love the style and atmosphere of the forest. Also music fits good. Fullscreen works on Chromium, Linux btw
It's cool, but I didn't understand how to survive after 3 checkpoints
Really impressed by the music. It goes together well with the graphics and creates a really cool atmosphere. I wish there were more ways of shaking off the creatures when they've attached to you, because it sometimes took me a long time to get to the next bottle. Other than that I think it feels really polished and well made. It felt really good to play through.
Creeepy! Love the way the music and the sound effects reinforce the vibe. It's smart how you can trap enemies in the bottles, but I felt like sometimes there was no way to survive if you are too far away from one and get jumped by a bunch of enemies
@bacontree Thank you for the feedback. We actually had a few ideas for additional mechanics for getting rid of the creatures other than trapping them, but we weren't able to implement them on time.
You did a great job with the animation and sounds! I like this type of games. And the backgrounds are great too.
This game is an absolute masterpiece! The stunning graphics create an immersive atmosphere, every detail of the game demonstrates the care of the developers and their desire to create a high-quality product. The soundtrack is also on point — it perfectly enhances the gameplay and adds to the overall vibe.
all i can say is that the mood of this game was just top tier! great job!
really nice art style and atmosphere, reminds me to limbo and the creatures sounds like world of goo. The animation of the girl es really cool. Just to give some feedback, the tiny creatures will sometimes stick to you for the rest of the game, perhaps there may be a way to get rid of them or make them go away after a while. Amazing game
Thanks for your feedback, @gamedevtraum ! We actually wanted to add additional mechanics to get rid of the creatures, but unfortunately we ran out of time. :/
The game looks and sounds great! I love how the music intensifies by the end. I think a few simple additions that would make the game better are a sprint button (with a stamina meter) and a clear narrative objective.
Love the art, music, and the overall atmosphere! I'm a sucker for folklore related media and games set in a dark forest. The tone is dark yet whimsical, and I love that! Wish there was a little more to explore or more ways to shake the creatures off, but I get you only had so much time. Great work overall!
Cool game idea! I liked it! Good job!
очень крутая работа! всё на высоте, вообще нечего добавить, всё нравится)
Hi all,
thanks so much for playing and rating our game and your nice and kind feedback. This is my 4th LD and I think so far, we never got better feedback and comments.
Actually, we had quite some problems with the topic and started with a different game. But after day one, we cancelled it and switched to this idea. I think during developing this during the last two days, we had not really the feeling that this will result in a good think. So it feels even better now to get all your nice comments.
To be fair, the main assets for the background and also the player character including the animations, were not created by us - that's why opt out for this. Anyway, we are still happy with how we composed it together and added our extra visual effects and also our own soundtrack (besides the finishing melody) and it is really to hear that you all like the atmosphere.
@gamerpromax @shadowmitia @gamedevtraum - yes, LIMBO is also one of my favorite platformer game, hence, cool to hear that we could create a similar atmosphere.
@bacontree @inonesgraveded @nevercade @carnavalpierre @demiclod @laura-17 Thanks for liking the music - especially for me this really sweet to here
@gaudy Sometimes, you have to go back - then again...RUN!!!
@comicsans @iaroslavik @ibluebirdi @inonesgraveded @bacontree @nevercade @vector3cat @gamedevtraum @demiclod Thanks so much for recognizing and loving the atmosphere! :heart:
@bacontree @nevercade @gamedevtraum @demiclod As my colleagues said, we actually were implementing a shaking off feature and thought about other ways of getting health back. In the end, there was not enough time to get it working correctly and at least I personally had the feeling after balancing the speed of the player that it might would make it too easy for such a short level. But it would be definitely a intuitive and natural solution to have some way to shake them off. @carnavalpierre Also a really good idea - so maybe if we continue the work, we will include this and maybe also the shaking off feature.
@gamerpromax @ibluebirdi @demiclod After all this awesome feedback here, maybe we will try to extend the game.
@laura-17 Wow, thanks so much. I think, it is almost not possible to get a better review. :hearts:
@demiclod So you are the person always voting for 'folklore' as LD theme? Just kidding
So again, thanks for all these nice words here and the additional ideas for improvements.
PS: Since some people liked the music, I might add a link to my spotify and youtube profile - so you can hear the music without the game.
Mood of the game is great gameplay tho... it got a bit laggy near the end, and I don't like how creatures stick to you, it wasn't entirely clear how to get rid of them, but I just hold the right and hoped for the best and was abble to complete the level. But over all nice job at finishing the game. You picked assets wisely, and created a really interesting atmosphere
@gaudy Ah, I guess, you mean the situation with the many red enemies below the branch? Hint: You can drop the cage...
@deercat Thank you. Yea, I guess we spawn a little bit too many enemies in the final phase. :innocent: I think, we should have definitely tried to integrate the shake off with jumping mechanism...
Omg, this game is so beautiful! Even though you opted out of the audio, I have to say you did an amazing job selecting it. It adds so much to the overall experience! Overall Super Entry!
@senso Thanks so much for your overwhelming feedback - especially mentioning the audio makes me really happy
Man, this game is really good! Audio, graphics, atmosphere, everything is so beautifull, but at the end it gets little laggy.
Very cool, very Limbo, all the assets from the audio to the visuals are top tier :)
The game has a great mood but I wished there was more game mechanics, seeing that you didn't do the art. But good job putting it together anyways!
Everything fit really well together (art + music) even though I think you did not make them. Good job at choosing the assets, the game looked good! I feel the level design and game mechanics lacked a bit though, you can almost just run in a straight line to finish the game.
Really great mood in this game :)
really liked the moody art and atmosphere. but the walking animation made me feel very slow
@zackfree Thanks for praising our game, so good to hear that you like our game. Yes, I think we have overdone the final wave of enemies so there are too many slowing the whole thing down.
@conor-wilson Thanks so much for your comment, it is really great that you love the game and its style
@lastuck Thanks for the feedback - you have a valid point. After losing one day with another concept, we had not enough time for some of our ideas, e.g., torches, shaking of enemies, different path, controlling the fireflies.
@master-yeet Thanks for the comment - as mentioned in the description, we did not create the graphics assets and only the level soundtrack is by us - that's why opted out for them. Regarding the level design, you are right. In the end, we voted for making it rather a little bit easier than making it too hard and we thought that for people playing it the first time, they might not finish it in the first run without checkpoints. But yes, as soons as you know the level, it is rather easy.
@joshua-reumann Thanks for liking the style.
@nemuikoda Thanks for the comment - you shouldn't run in a dark forest - this can be dangerous
The mood here is so well done! I love the spooky forest atmosphere (shout-out to the jump scare tree with a face) and how unpredictable the sources of the tiny creatures were - jumping from the bottom of the screen, out of obstacles, etc. My game started to lag quite a bit when there were a lot of the little goes on the screen at once, but other than that I really appreciate the work here. Good stuff!
Hey @brainloaf-studio, thanks for your nice feedback. Actually, your comment makes my girlfriend (she is part of the dev team) really happy. She had the idea and integrated the tree. She also complaint about that so far no one mentioned how the trees turn into creatures etc. at the later part of the game. So kudos to you for recognizing it.
I love the bottle/cage mechanic! Great choice of assets!
