LD53 — Delivery

The Great Beer Robbery by PoshDan 2023-05-02T15:22:38Z

Very nice. I enjoyed the art style and smooth animations. The difficulty also ramps up perfectly. I agree with one of the other comments that adding one or two additional enemy and/or weapon types would make the game even more fun.

ANGRY DELIVERY by ROBOWARRIOR1982 2023-05-05T23:09:58Z

The game seems simple at first, but turns out to be quite tricky. I thoroughly enjoyed the couple of runs, even though I didn't manage to earn a lot of money.

Loved the retro vibes!

Boxt In Space by Diego Escalante 2023-05-05T22:02:12Z

Interesting idea. Initially I thought it was about properly sorting the weirdly shaped blocks like 3D tetris, until I realized that I don't have enough time for that. After that I just crammed in the boxes as fast as I could. At one point I just used a big box to sweep the other ones into the delivery area. One particular box was a nasty but fun surprise.

I liked the atmosphere - the scene is simple but fitting. The only issue I have with the game is the lack of a HUD for the timer. As a previous comment mentioned, it is likely a conscious design decision, but for me it was somewhat frustrating.

Angry Delivery by manogugas 2023-05-08T11:39:48Z

Overall a solid entry. The idea itself is simple but still fun - who doesn't like destruction . However, I didn't like the fact that you look straight onto to trajectory curve, since that way you can hardly see where it actually points to.

Dire Delivery by eyedromeda 2023-05-10T12:05:01Z

Very nice game. Absolutely loved the visuals and the controls. Contrary to others, I feel like the difficulty is just fine once you get used to the controls.

Superstar Surgeon: a Sensitive Subject by Fupi 2023-05-07T00:45:24Z

Wow, I can honestly say that IMO this is by far the best game I have played so far in this jam. Everything is top notch: idea, music, art and implementation. The gameplay mechanics were simple and yet interesting, but it was everything else that stood out to me. The topic is difficult and some of the lines are quite dark, but I still had to replay it aiming for the "bad" ending.

I've had trouble rating other games 5 stars even in single categories, but, for me, this was easily a 5 star game all over. Keep up the great stuff. This is definitely a gem of the jam!

The Simple Life: Expedited Edition by Somniac 2023-05-02T13:28:41Z

Controlling the harvester takes a bit of getting used to, but then you're rewarded with the fun of drifting through the crops. Overall the game is quite enjoyable and has a nice look to it. The only issue I noticed is that you can get stuck on the white fences (too) easily. On the other hand, accidentally jumping over them was quite fun. Great job!

Hedge Hauler by trASSh 2023-05-02T17:56:47Z

Nice and relaxing. The pricing of the upgrades and the overall pacing could be improved, but it's really enjoyable nonetheless. There seems to be a bug, as the truck left at some point, but did not finish the delivery and never came back. Also the prices become unreadable when they are in the billions.

Super Buffed Delivery Service by josep93 2023-05-06T17:49:13Z

I wish there were more gameplay mechanics like the evasion and dropping, but still had a good laugh. Nice one!

FoodEx by stesim 2023-05-04T12:00:38Z

Thanks everyone for the nice feedback. We had too much fun doing the whole physics-based delivery of items and did not have enough time to polish the income/spending mechanics. At least of few of our remaining ideas will likely be implemented in a post-jam version though.

FoodEx by stesim 2023-05-05T11:03:39Z

@arsher Thank you for your feedback. It's unfortunate you couldn't properly enjoy the game due to the camera angle. Having multiple camera positions to switch through was actually the next feature on the to-do list when we ran out of time. :slight_frown:

FoodEx by stesim 2023-05-05T11:12:37Z

@russ-moonbase @follett12 @kerdelos Thank you for the encouraging and constructive feedback. It's great to hear that people are having fun with the game despite it's shortcomings. We will consider building upon the game and integrating your suggestions and our remaining ideas.

FoodEx by stesim 2023-05-05T12:10:43Z

@kattalord Thanks for the feedback and I'm glad you enjoyed the game. The littered food is supposed to add to the charm and challenge, but it certainly can get frustrating, so we have considered adding a street sweeper vehicle that can remove items on the ground. Camera controls were also planned, but did not make it in time, unfortunately.

FoodEx by stesim 2023-05-05T12:17:36Z

@kgurniak91 You use the same buttons for both pick-up and delivery (numbers 1-4). You can use them when in the highlighted zones. 'E' is for picking up or delivering earned cash. The 10$ you lose every 10 seconds are supposed to represent rent, as it was an easy way to add a lose condition.

FoodEx by stesim 2023-05-09T11:03:12Z

@anthony-katona @diego-escalante Thank you both for the feedback. I do agree that the ding sound is a bit harsh and probably too loud. We will change it to something smoother. It's also a good point that you don't know what the actual volume will be when adjusting the settings. We can add some kind of sound sample in the menu at some point.

This being our first jam, we probably didn't quite get our priorities straight and ran out of time before being able to clean up what we had. We are very grateful for honest and constructive feedback so we can do better next time.

FoodEx by stesim 2023-05-09T11:13:12Z

@jupiter-hadley Thank you for giving our game a try. Too bad the experience was so short, as the instructions weren't clear enough to convey the objective and mechanics. We will try to improve that part in the future.

FoodEx by stesim 2023-05-10T11:44:02Z

@eyedromeda Thank you for the constructive feedback. The tutorial/instructions aspect is definitely something we need to improve.

Also thanks for the feedback regarding the post-jam version. Apparently I screwed up and didn't test the camera collision feature enough.

__EDIT:__ Camera issue of post-jam version should be fixed now.

DETOUR by Nozomu57 2023-05-07T15:10:06Z

Really nice game, definitely stands out from the majority of the games. I loved the mechanics and the puzzle designs, even though I am too bad for some of them, as I just couldn't beat #9.

Quick technical question: Did you use Godot 4 or 3.x for the game? If Godot 4, how did you get the Web Export embedding to work here?

DETOUR by Nozomu57 2023-05-07T21:22:49Z

@nozomu57 Thanks for the reply. Sticking to what you're used to was definitely the right choice. I switched to 4.0 after the official release and can't imagine going back, even though there are still some issues.

I just played a bit of Fox Tower, it was really nice. Keep them good games coming. (I'm quite certain that I've seen the game somewhere - most likely r/godot if you've posted there.)

LD54 — Limited Space

2 Dudes against the Liquidator by Kitira 2023-10-04T10:37:06Z

Loved the concept of controlling two characters at once. I'm sure it makes for a great co-op game. The controls are a bit tricky and feel buggy at times. Otherwise, great job overall.

LD55 — Summoning

Demon Dayz by Ntimi 2024-04-16T16:06:55Z

Art, dialogue and audio are top-notch. I agree with other comments that it lacks a bit of variation in the combat mechanics. The balancing feels quite good. Even though it's not necessarily my kind of game, I was able to beat it on normal difficulty after a few tries of the last two stages. Overall, great work and a solid entry.

Words of Power by nsadie 2024-04-17T00:17:51Z

I spent quite a bit of time trying to beat the various stages, but eventually gave up. While I enjoyed the game as a whole, the complete randomness kind of took a toll on the fun. Most of the time it felt like I didn't even have a chance no matter how well I did with the words, since certain colors just wouldn't spawn enough. Other than the RNG aspect, I think it's a great little game.

Sumo & Ning by universeflow 2024-04-16T16:30:53Z

Great concept and overall well executed. The roll mechanic is quite fun, although it took me a while to realize that you're supposed to hold the roll button. Even then I wasn't able to get past wave 5. I feel like it needs a difficulty setting or at least a somewhat lowered difficulty, or maybe I'm just bad at the game. :grinning:

Great job!

Billy's Bargain by pedsm 2024-04-16T22:25:29Z

The game is really fun, great job! I was surprised how well balanced it felt to me, being able finish the levels on the first try but with little to money left, always on the edge wondering if I'll actually make it - perfect for the jam. The only thing that bothered me was the lack of volume controls as the music was quite loud.

Conjuring Mama by Telkan 2024-04-16T21:44:23Z

The game may be a bit short but is still quite enjoyable. Well done. :)

Occultris by stesim 2024-04-16T16:50:26Z

Thanks to everyone who played and commented on our game. :)

@chibiata @argensis Thank you for the constructive feedback. You're right regarding the balance. We were not able to figure it out on time. It will definitely be a lesson for next time.

Beacon Summoner by Lazurusaki 2024-04-16T17:37:33Z

I liked the chill exploration approach of the game, but it definitely needs some instructions. It took me a while to figure out what I was supposed to do. Also, the spawn animation is unnecessarily slow, given that there is nothing you can do but wait for the beacons to spawn in order to continue along your path. Adding a few things scattered around the map to discover while looking for the destination could also help with motivation.

Crafted Calamities by Sven Walter 2024-04-16T17:18:12Z

I liked the concept of choosing the abilities of your opponent. The player's attack felt a bit weird to me though, lacking feedback and motivation of why I had to perform it manually. I've probably missed something and basically just spammed left mouse button the entire time while trying to dodge the boss. Still, I enjoyed the challenge, even though I failed to beat the last two stages.

LD56 — Tiny Creatures

Schroedingers Snack Cart by spaceemotion 2024-10-08T13:32:23Z

Visually, the game looks amazing. I feel like it needed just a little more work to make it a great game overall. Maybe it's just my own stupidity, but despite the instructions I felt kind of lost (what food do you need to select, what does the question mark mean, ...). The crash when using up all items also doesn't help when trying to figure things out. Still, a solid entry for the first time using a new engine.

Tiny Beast Hunter by neowhoru 2024-10-08T18:17:07Z

Cool little game. The character's hurt-box definitely needs adjusting though. It's frustrating to die to the spikes when visually you're not on them.

I enjoyed the visuals. The audio was hit and miss for me and I really missed a volume adjustment.

Snow Flipper by nevercade 2024-10-08T18:05:54Z

A relaxing and cute little game. Great job! Even though I'm not the biggest fan of pixel art, I enjoyed the art. I only wish there was a simple mechanic for the fishing instead of just waiting.

Dusty Desk by Franci 2024-10-10T16:16:54Z

A simple concept that makes for a fun game, especially when combined with the great art and the number of different levels.

FoRest in Peace by Kitira 2024-10-08T14:23:26Z

@bacontree Thank you for the feedback. We actually had a few ideas for additional mechanics for getting rid of the creatures other than trapping them, but we weren't able to implement them on time.

Proto Deus by cliva 2024-10-08T15:04:00Z

Fun game. Loved the atmosphere, both sounds and visuals were great. It took me a while to remember the hint about switching weapons, but I enjoyed blasting through the enemies after that. Navigating the bots is somewhat frustrating though, they like to get stuck on destroyed enemies.

Shnorps: Invasion of Blorps by P3ngui 2024-10-08T14:07:45Z

Fun game, but either I'm terrible at it or the balancing needs some work. I gave it a few tries but eventually gave up. Loved the sounds, though. I wasn't able to look at the the left-most upgrades without moving the view to the left, which was kind of frustrating (Web version, Firefox, Linux).

Immune Defense Force by MewDE 2024-10-10T16:37:35Z

Simple but fun concept, although the controls killed a lot of the fun for me. I needed a moment to figure out how to control the attack, and even after that I was regularly releasing the mouse button shortly before actually pressing 'C'. Otherwise, a solid entry with the leaderboard also being a great feature.

LD58 — Collector

Super Tower Bros by crazi456 2025-10-19T13:13:18Z

Great concept, I really enjoyed the game. Only thing that bothered me was figuring out in which direction the character would attack. Generally they would attack in the direction they are facing, which is also difficult to determine due to the symmetry of the sprites, but sometimes the ranged tower would also shoot in the opposite direction. Sill, nice little game with potential.

Empty Voice by Asieke 2025-10-19T12:51:47Z

Excellent visuals and interesting concept. I felt like the movement was a bit too slow and the controls were really awkward for me. Nevertheless, I would say it's a solid entry, congrats.

City of Promotion by Nilan 2025-10-19T14:13:44Z

Great idea! I enjoyed it even as it is, but with a bit of polish I imagine it being even more fun. A few things that I would consider improving: camera panning speed, scrolling in the building list, non-skippable animations at the end of a season. Otherwise a great game with a lot of potential. Well done.
