Classic gameplay but it's well made and very complete. I like the multiple environments. It's maybe lacking a little bit in diversity in gameplay, so maybe less levels but more diverse would have been nice. Great audio too.
This game is amazing, but way too hard, I gave up. The graphics are amazing, the story is very complete and the sound and music are also amazing. This game looks very finished!
really simple, but suprisingly very fun, very good art too, the demon shadow is a bit gunked up tho, might want to fix that in a post jam update later
Very pretty looking game, incredibly polished pixel graphics. Gameplay feels very nostalgic and nice aside from the somewhat floaty movement. Overall very nice entry!

A nice looking game, familiar gameplay and very responsive. Personally, I would've loved to read more about this interacting between the two characters we meet (although that would make it less of an action game :sweat_smile:), and maybe a stage or two less to focus on getting maybe a secondary move instead! Audio is nice and the feedback on your actions is good. Kind of funny that such giant people and such small people can live together in harmony.
Great fun! Really liked the character design and the banter between the lich and the demon :laughing: I also appreciate how you get to restart the level instead of going back to stage 1.
Omg the comic is so beautifully executed! And the art, I'm also always impressed when finding jam games with more than 1 level. Like one before me said, the gameplay could have more nuances, but what you managed to do you did well.
Good game, well polished given the timeframe. My critique would be that damage upgrades do almost nothing since the number of hits for most enemies stays the same until you stack up a lot of upgrades, 5 I think. The transition from moving to attacking is a bit stiff but functional. Archers move rather fast which makes them annoying to hit once you close the distance.
@minjutin @dotiocat and @yorsh — thanks for the reviews. And yes, we had planned a lot of more Gameplay Elements — but we only had 1 person programming and 3 persons in graphics :D That's the reason we have so many Levels and less variation in gameplay. We hope you enjoyed it nonetheless! :)

Nice game, very beautiful pixel art ! The difficulty is very well balanced. I managed to finish the game on normal mode, and it was a bit tough but just right. Good job! ;)
Art, dialogue and audio are top-notch. I agree with other comments that it lacks a bit of variation in the combat mechanics. The balancing feels quite good. Even though it's not necessarily my kind of game, I was able to beat it on normal difficulty after a few tries of the last two stages. Overall, great work and a solid entry.
The gameplay was classic arcade, I enjoyed it very much! I also appreciated that the bossfight ramped up the difficulty as much as it did. Art was killer. It literally killed me, and I am now dead. Great writing, full marks in humor. Would've loved to punch it up with that snooty lich.

Beautiful artwork, especially background art. Gameplay gets a bit stale because there's only 1 attack. It feels good to move around and attack, animations are clean. Good job adding a variety of enemies. Just wish there was more to do than attack and dodge. Great job overall!
I liked the game, very simple yet engaging. I didn't like the key bindings but otherwise really cool.

nice artsyle and the music really works well with the gameplay! The dialogue was funny and I also like that the game's name references the Gorillaz album tho I am not sure if that was intentional or not lol.
