Cool idea! I like that it's not just a crafting game, you can actually see your creations help the fight progress. Your cover art is great and your game has very cute assets, but I sometimes feel like different art styles and pixel sizes are on the same screen and it visually clashes. But this is is really not a big problem!

slavturtle 2024-04-15 23:07

Top Tier banger, love the movement, love the resource management, love everything!

initialposition 2024-04-15 23:15

Absolutely loved the rolling mechanic and how it was just the right amount of floaty to be a perfect risk reward system. Took me a while to understand the cooking mechanic but once I did I had a great time.

lobbienjonsjii 2024-04-15 23:22

A creative concept, executed with a cute aesthetic and humor. The gameplay loop is a little repetitive, especially in the beginning, maybe having the ingredients spawn in different locations could help, by presenting more of a challenge when planning a route through the kitchen. The rolling mechanic felt great but the crammed environment makes it less satisfying than it could have been.

anaastaska 2024-04-16 06:47

The art in the game is amazing, maybe it’s just my preferences, but I love it!😻 Cooking mechanics is very interesting and let you play the game for some time πŸ‘Œ

universeflow 2024-04-16 06:51

@save-sloth-studios thanks for the feedback, glad you liked the concept! this was the first time we worked with multiple artists, so it took us some effort to keep the style consistent. it's definitely something we would want to improve/polish in another interation!

universeflow 2024-04-16 06:53

@lobbienjonsjii yes, we actually wanted to add different and bigger maps, but unfortunately there was not enough time. making essentially two games in one was really stressful! we still have a lot of art and assets left over for more content, so it's definitely something that could be added later :)

moonblast 2024-04-16 07:34

Very interesting game, great job with the interactive experience

bittripbrit 2024-04-16 07:55

Very cool idea, a bit tricky at first but fun once you get into the swing of things. I like the idea of a recipe book that you explore over time, very unique idea!

shwooken 2024-04-16 07:57

Very cool concept!

crushedsummers 2024-04-16 08:07

This rolling mechanic is very unique and memorable. Very interesting concept, I'm a pretty useless brother :joy:

ewilecoyote 2024-04-16 08:10

Nice idea and game! love the art of the game \o/

wolderado 2024-04-16 09:01

Nice entry! Combining various ingredients while rolling around is pretty fun. I wish the game pause while you look at the recipes. Also music could be a bit more exciting compared to hectic gameplay

It's pretty funny that we had totally different game ideas but came up with the same name

jacob-diaz 2024-04-16 14:03

The graphics are very cohesive! love it.

universeflow 2024-04-16 14:44

@slavturtle thanks for the great feedback, will let Kieran know, he made the music

@initialposition @crushedsummers glad you liked the rolling mechanic, it was fun getting the physics right between the simple walk and rolling. rolling makes it harder to navigate, but is much faster, so it's a tradeoff!

@anaastaska @ewilecoyote thanks!!! I will let the artists know

@moonblast thanks for playing!

@bittripbrit glad to know you liked it, it's supposed to be the type of game you replay a couple times until you find a crafting flow that works for you!

@shwooken thanks!

@wolderado ah it's you! glad to hear you liked it, a pause screen was something we still wanted to do, but the time ran out  maybe in a next version!

@jacob-diaz thanks for the feedback! will forward the props to the artists!

equivocator 2024-04-16 16:09

Very cool mechanics and good execution. I found it very difficult

stesim 2024-04-16 16:30

Great concept and overall well executed. The roll mechanic is quite fun, although it took me a while to realize that you're supposed to hold the roll button. Even then I wasn't able to get past wave 5. I feel like it needs a difficulty setting or at least a somewhat lowered difficulty, or maybe I'm just bad at the game. :grinning:

Great job!

doonutsaur 2024-04-16 16:46

fun spin on overcooked! very nice idea.

liu-pa-yueh 2024-04-16 16:58

I'm so HAPPY to see a game where the main characters are a couple of sisters! I give this game full marks for that alone :D

zippry 2024-04-16 17:23

Cool twist on this type of game! I like the art. I think the space between each ingredient and/or the portal could have been smaller. I also found it a little hard but that might be a personal problem. Overall it was fun!

kirass 2024-04-16 22:57

I like this game! You guys are great!

universeflow 2024-04-17 06:43

@equivocator @zippry thanks! yes it is supposed to be difficult  after getting used to the rolling mechanics it's definitely possible to get to wave 10 and beat the boss though

@stesim thanks for the feedback! good point, I added a small note to the itch.io page explaining that you have to hold shift to move faster.

@doonutsaur @kirass thanks!

@liu-pa-yueh glad you like the main characters, will let the character artist know

saryah 2024-04-17 11:28

SO CUTE. Awesome rolling mechanic for the sprint, and just really fun to cook up some summons!

hawkin 2024-04-18 01:57

I had a feeling I'd be seeing some "Sumo Ning" jokes! The art was so cute for this! I'm sorry I couldn't do more, Ning :_:

sumo-score.png

I think I would have preferred a little more deceleration on the normal movement, as it was almost too snappy. But the rolling movement was really fun, and once I got the hang of the control, I was zipping around the lab!

One suggestion: allow the player to use either shift key, not just left.

alessandro2024 2024-04-18 17:21

Really cool game! Only reason I stopped playing is cause I want to try out more games, but I could really spend some time just playing with this one, especially with expanded content :)

universeflow 2024-04-19 14:29

@saryah thanks!! glad you liked it

@hawkin wave 6 is pretty good ;) good point on the movement, the idea was to have one that is really easy to navigate but slow, and rolling which is fast but harder to navigate, we focused mainly on the rolling, so the normal movement could definitely be improved.

@alessandro2024 thanks for playing! hopefully you will come back to it and beat the boss in wave 10 ;)

gonzo13 2024-04-21 15:40

Interesting theme implementation, cute graphics but moving between pot and portal is annoying.

universeflow 2024-04-24 12:40

@gonzo13 thanks for the feedback! did you try holding SHIFT to use the roll mechanic? that way you can move a lot faster and in a more fun and interesting way :)

gonzo13 2024-04-24 14:25

@universeflow yep, but I mean it seems like a little tricky way.

prismapunch 2024-04-27 18:51

The concept is great, really like the character designs and it's a clever take on the theme. The dual gameplay is interesting as well, perhaps an item or upgrade in which you could pick up multiple items at once would help speed up the gameplay loop?

universeflow 2024-04-28 11:16

@prismapunch glad you liked the designs and idea :) a power-up that lets you pick up multiple items at once - that's a cool idea!
