Really great game. A bit confusing to get started, but i quickly got the hang off it. I wasnt able to access the last potion selling slot, probably just a small bug

Love the art style!

naomiajacobs 2024-04-16 03:01

Beautiful art! The tutorial is cool but I couldn't get past it because I wasn't sure how to move to the other locations - WASD, arrows, and clicking around didn't work. Not sure if it's a bug or if I just couldn't figure it out. Seems like fun though! I'd be happy to try again.

Good art style

dyingwolfwood 2024-04-16 03:06

Good job! I liked the graphics and the music for sure. The tutorial was a bit long, and wasn't very helpful. I spent some time learning how it works while playing, but couldn't figure out how to assign slimes to more than the one crystal bank. Still, very fun and would have played longer if I could have figured that out.

Cute game! Neat take on a factory style game with a summoning theme.

enad96 2024-04-16 03:09

Very cool, I had a small visual bug where It didn't show the potion after buying more stands. Super impressive for a game jam and well on theme!

imwonderr 2024-04-16 03:11

@naomiajacobs Thanks! The move bind is WASD. You might've accidentally clicked out of the games bound or maybe you didn't fully finish the tutorial? Tested on a few different browsers and never run into this issue. Thanks for the comment! Your game looks great, I'll surely give it a play tomorrow, too! :)

What a gorgeous little game! Felt a bit like an idle game with the incremental progress and getting your slime economy going.

The art style is super appealing--it might just be the best-looking game I've played yet!

lelek-hunor-kadosa 2024-04-16 03:13

Got all 4 element with Epic level. It looks beautiful and have potentials. You should expand that game, I would love to play it.

Oh, and pls add some QoL to the UI. A back button and an always visible potion stat in the shop would be nice

delauraen 2024-04-16 03:17

The art is really cute, i love it. It's a lot of text at once (but understandable for jams) and took a minute to understand what to do. I couldn't tell if I was selling anything or people were visiting the store. Everything else seems pretty straight forward. Cute little gameloop!

missingpixel 2024-04-16 05:26

Awesome game, tutorial was somewhat confusing but game play was simple once I got started. I did run into a couple visual bugs where extra potions didn't show up when I assigned them and the third and fourth cauldron didn't spawn particles. Loved the game loop Great work!

matthieu-riboulot 2024-04-16 12:19

Great art style with a catchy music.A bit confusing at first, maybe spreading the level out that much wasn't a good idea. I played until I unlocked everything.

loki-drams 2024-04-16 17:30

good game !

the visual style is great, the gameplay is simple, but it is clear. now to be critical, I think that there is a lack of visuals for the structures purchased allowing you to quickly see what remains has been purchased. Likewise visually have the pots and stands which change in view to quickly perceive if as set what you want. The variety of potions is also poorly used, there are any combinations, but no more reason to make one than the other, gaining plenty of resources to ignore the choice, it would have been interesting if the potions cost more in resources, take longer to produce, but there are "seasons" which would invite the player to produce more of a potion, because it is more in demand. A completely personal plus would have been the sound in relation to or watching, for immersion.

bug level, I only saw one, the last potion stand, after having bought it was no longer interactable.

Once again, good game!

enreh 2024-04-16 17:56

@loki-drams Thank you for the thorough feedback! We're aware of most of the bugs you mentioned and we're looking into them. As for the potion variety, you're right. We had the idea for a system of demand for potions that would have the prices and selling rates of each type of potion vary, unfortunately we weren't able to implement it in time.

Neat entry!

When I was going through tutorial it was like. First room - ah, ok, going to produce slimes, nice. Second room - ok and the produces slimes are going to give me essences. So there is a risk reward system, very good. Third room - wait, there is more? Now I can make potion from it? Ok, they took it pretty far and then boom.. fourth room - I can sell them.

The art is loveable, the music was a bit too much repetitive, but I tried my own music and failed, so I know how hard it is to get even repetitive so I admire that.

Great with the theme, art looks nice but the music can see some progression with the levels

Overall good !

unrealkazu 2024-04-16 18:52

Lovely little game with a great art-style. I was a bit confused after the tutorial, but a bit of tinkering around made me realize what was needed. The chain of summoning -> generating resources -> creating potions -> selling potions is a nice idea, and makes me think a bit of a factory game, so it has potential!

There was a bit of frustration with the UI, however. Adding the ability to cancel out any of the UI menu's would've been great, as it makes checking your slimes/potions stats without having to change them impossible. I also softlocked myself on my first try when I clicked the summon portal again after having spent all my money while no money was being generated. I could no longer back out of that menu and had to restart the game.

Overall great effort, and good game!

imwonderr 2024-04-16 20:21

@unrealkazu Thanks for playing and leaving your feedback! You can press ESC to exit out of any interface in-game. We shoul've added a mention to it in the tutorial but as time ran short we forgot about it. Our bad!

lcstark 2024-04-16 22:05

Really cool game! It immediately made me think of Slime Rancher, but with some other elements mixed into it. And the result is pretty interesting!

The tutorial is pretty long, it takes some time to explain the game systems to the player. It would be good if there was a way to skip it - first time playing the game it was fine, but on the second and third time it meant having to click through it all to start.

It's nice that you have a way to exit the interface using the Escape button, but on one hand it would be better to have it as a button on the screen (making it more obvious), on another it should probably be bound to a different key, since in WebGL builds Escape is first used to exit the fullscreen. In a best-case scenario, you have to press the button twice to exit the interface, and you'd have to re-enable fullscreen every time you do it.

Having the slimes produce everything for you means the game doesn't feel so grindy, but it has a small problem with downtime - several times I found myself just sitting there, waiting for currency to slowly trickle in so I could buy another crystal or a brewing stand. It would be nice to have something for the player to do in the meantime, maybe a way to manually generate at least a small amount of resources by clicking a crystal yourself?

Overall it's a pretty cool game! I like both the concept and the execution. It has a few small bugs, but nothing game-breaking and all should be fixable. There are a lot of mechanics which work pretty well as they are right now, and each one of them can be expanded in interesting ways if you plan to continue working on it after the jam. Well done!

I like this game! You guys are great!

baluj 2024-04-16 23:12

Incredible mood, although it was too short for me. I would have liked it to have more types of slimes.

codeman1010 2024-04-16 23:51

The art was a masterpiece. This game is so polished.

erik-tate 2024-04-17 00:44

This was great! The art style is fantastic and the concept is great too. I didn't realize for the longest time that I could summon better slimes (even though this is mentioned in the tutorial :face_palm:). I unlocked everything, got epic slimes of each type, and started creating omnipotions in every cauldron. The background music and sound effects were great as well and really fit the game. Overall just a really cool little game

andrewkennedy 2024-04-17 01:06

Cute game, good art, and I really liked the idea. I agree with others about the text-heavy introduction being a bit of information overload. Still, I think it explained how to play pretty well.

I'm not sure if I encountered a bug, but after getting my first 100 coins, I made a big red slime, and then never sold a potion after that. I tried all sorts of combinations until I had over 300 fire elements collected, at which point I gave up.

heretic 2024-04-18 14:47

it was mystically cute and gorgeous, the visual style is very well balanced, but the interface should be worked on as well as the tutorial, for a second I even thought I got a soft lock because I couldn't figure out what to press to get out of the back menu

deerofblue 2024-04-18 14:50

Cool game! Love the graphics! The lo-fi pixel 2.5D is really to my appetite. The start tutorial can be a little shorter. Or, it can be implemented in a way of teaching and playing at the same time.

lllarso 2024-04-18 15:04

I liked the game. Purchased everything which was possible and didn“t get bored till this point. The music fitted nicely to the game and the slimes. The visual feedback in the store was not there. It would be cool to see a new potion standing on the pillar in the store when you unlocked it. Furthermore you could change the colour of the potion depending on what you are selling.

Besides the minor issues with the store, I had a good time playing this game. The artstyle is very nice! :)

dams333 2024-04-19 18:25

Really cool game, so chill, the art and the music give a really cool feeling. Great job !

thelastslowpoke 2024-04-24 07:06

Cute lil game! I love the art! The models, animations, shader, other vfx and all that. Great job on choosing to spend your time to make a tutorial, it would be super confusing without it. With the tutorial I now produce more omni potions than I can sell and live happily ever after. It played nicely, great work!

chuchugeralt 2024-04-27 21:08

As already mentioned, the game looks stunning.

Had to restart the game once, because I "skipped" one of the tutorials. But that was my mistake. Would have love to seen some other slime combinations out of the elements - it would be fun to combine the elements that you get a different slime that produces two elements or a new element. But that would put the scope outside of a game jam.

But overall it was a delight to play your game.
