Fantastic! Amazing amount of polish
Gorgeous! Love the color palette and steam punk vibes. In a complete coincidence, I am actually in the middle of a book on the history of biology that's talking about the old homunculus theory! I was delighted that this came up at the same time. Great game, great theme.
Love this! The intro sequence was funny and great for mood-setting, and throwing humans into the worm is hilarious. My only trouble playing it was that I had a hard time telling where the bottom of the helicopter was, so I missed the worm every time I aimed for it.
I'm also biased cause our team also went for a Dune theme! Check it out https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/52/harvest-dune
What an innovative idea! LOVE the original and clever mechanics. I didn't want it to end, one of the best I've seen so far.
Cool concept! The animation and sounds for sucking up the eggs is great. It'd be cool to have more gameplay to do other than waiting for the eggs to mature though. I also ran into a bug where I couldn't escape from reading the card, and the eggs matured while I was reading it and then they went bad, not sure if there was something I was supposed to be able to do to fix that.
Love this! I wasn't sure how the controls worked at first or how to sell my stone but eventually I got it. Great tension between wanting to harvest faster and escaping the bugs! I was really sad when the bugs got me
Aww, I love this - such a sweet game. A great break from the more stressful games on here. Beautiful.
I loved the bright color scheme/art and the music - very cheerful. The gameplay was fun too once I got the hang of it. It'd be cool to have some way to win or a leaderboard for the high score or something like that, or have it get harder as you go
LOVE this! My favorite one I've done so far. Very Baba Is You vibe, I'm going to keep playing this one
Just came back to say that the last level was incredibly satisfying when I got it even though it took me like ten tries! More levels please! I would pay for this game.
Hah @cameronpenner I didn't even know ornithopters were different from helicopters! I always read that and thought it was just a weird alt scifi word for helicopters. TIL they have wings - so cool! We could have made some sick animations for them, thanks for the suggestion :)
wow awesome @100th-coin thanks for the video review! It's very fun seeing someone play it live
Things I said over the past 17 minutes: "wow there's no reason this should be this fun" "I don't want to buy freedom yet! It'd end the game!" "Ooooh there's another upgrade after freedom!" "Wheeeeee" "I don't know why this is so addicting"
Great job! I loved this one.
I like how it gets more interactive with more players. I'd love to see the leaderboard populated to know how I'm doing, and it'd be awesome for the wait time between actions to be a bit shorter :D
Cool TD. I loved the graphics, but had trouble understanding how to play - a lot of my clicks were unresponsive and I wasn't sure what all the numbers meant. More of a tutorial or help text would be great!
Nice, thanks for adding the tutorial! I won, but never got to unlock the next three turret types! I wish I knew what they were. Overall a fun TD
Love this! The last level took me a while, and was so satisfying. I loved the art and the music, so beautiful and relaxing!
OMG! Like a stressful stardew valley or an overcooked - very fun! I love the art style. The levels ramped up in difficulty very quickly, and I lost sometime around level 3. I think it's harder using a trackpad, I'd try with a mouse next time.
Love this!! The sound and graphics are awesome. The rotating laser was a cool new twist on Plants vs Zombies
So cute! I liked that I couldn't cut down the plants until they'd grown up fully, it added a cool planning aspect. I'd love to maybe have health so that I don't die from a single fireball, but it has high replayability!
Hilarious that this was made on a phone!
~~Beautiful background pixel art! Unfortunately I couldn't jump over the first taller obstacle so I couldn't make any progress. Is there a trick I am missing? I'd love to try again. (on a Mac laptop if that's important)~~
I came back and realized you can use the plant below to jump! This was very helpful and I had a great time with the first few levels. So polished for a hackathon!
I couldn't get the game to start - when I pressed A nothing happened
Beautiful execution! This is fantastic
Hahaha this was fun! The placement puzzle was clever; I would have loved more levels and music. I think the game was a bit buggy when I had to restart a level; there were often donuts in places I hadn't put them in before.
I thought this was a great concept for a game but personally I needed a bit more help to figure it out - I didn't win. I would have loved a bit more of a description in the game itself for how to play.
Sadly I am playing on a laptop and don't have a mouse so I had a hard time playing. Looks fun though!
Oh, I loved this! Played through the end. Very short and simple mechanics but I had a great time reading through the calendar events; the storytelling is fantastic.
@adam-konig try combining the faerie wing with something else to make a useful helper ;)
@cody-holt thanks for the feedback! Honestly, we probably could get rid of the timing mechanism - it's a holdover from when we thought we'd have the game take a limited number of days. We later decided it was more fun to have the core of the game be to work through the crafting tree / exploring more than being time-pressured, but we didn't think to actually remove them haha. If we ever made this into a real game we'd probably let you switch between the two modes freely.
@joeshanahan so fun to watch you play, thanks for including us in your video!
Beautiful art! The tutorial is cool but I couldn't get past it because I wasn't sure how to move to the other locations - WASD, arrows, and clicking around didn't work. Not sure if it's a bug or if I just couldn't figure it out. Seems like fun though! I'd be happy to try again.
Omg this is so fun! I think I'm too sleep-deprived from the game jam to get past any of the harder levels but my friends will LOVE this game and I'm going to come back to it tomorrow after a good night's rest.
Great art! I loved the vibe and music but had a hard time figuring out what to do with the items - I put the candles in the circle but wasn't sure what to do next. More helpers/tutorials would be great!
The cards here are beautiful! I had fun assigning attacks and I think I kind of got how it works in general but I would have loved more signals on which attacks have been assigned and what I'm trying to do.
So fun!! One of my faves so far. I got to about level 6 before dying. Cool strategic choices around angles and conservation of spikes
The cards and game board are beautifully rendered! I lost quite quickly - tutorial or walkthrough would be very helpful as I was having a lot of trouble dropping the cards in the right place and wasn't sure what to optimize for.
This was fun! It was pretty repetitive though - I kept being prompted to play the same sets of notes over again. Iād love more diversity!
Had too much trouble getting started, I couldn't hit the rhythm correctly. I'd love wider tolerances; this looked really fun! Love the concept.
Fun! We also made an item combo game :D I liked how each scene had a really different feel.
This was so fun! I was sad there weren't more levels - I definitely would have played more.
Very fun! I love the music and the sprites are adorable. It felt like the start of a fun cookie-clicker type game. I'd love more affordances to know whether what I'm doing is effective - I mostly felt like I was flailing and clicking around, and the pebbles moved too fast for me to feel like i could tell what they were doing.
Very cute! I died pretty quickly, and I'm not sure how exactly I died - it'd be great to have an indication of what killed me so I know how to avoid it on a replay.
Cute game! Loved petting the cat. It would have been nice to have more decision-making or puzzles - I mostly felt like I was following a predetermined path. The end scene had strong Stardew Valley vibes, which I enjoyed.
Crashed my Chrome after just a few notes :( seemed fun to play though!
This was so fun!!! It was really hard at first and I wasn't sure how I was getting scored, but by the end I really got the hang of it. I loved the art style and my husband and I were cheering each other on about the strategy for getting the highest score. Great job!
