Nice bit of music there! I also enjoyed the summon object at the end. Kind of surprised me! If you were going for a DDR vibe, i felt it.

Music and graphics are probably the strongest parts in this one.
The beat is quite impressive for a game jam game and it's suitable for a rhythm game (not every track is).
I found a minor issue with the gameplay: there is no penalty for mistakes. I can mash HJKL nonstop and hit every note. The game tracks the "misses" and decreases the bar, but it doesn't account for this mindless button mashing. For a rhythm game, maybe there could be some "beep" sound if you're hitting the wrong key (or hitting the correct key at the wrong time).
The game is quite short so I baked two cakes and recorded it on a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vn9DKeRQ04Y
"A Cake" Who doesn't like cake. I not good at games like this, but I know my son would ace it! BUT as there are not penalty for button smashing, I just smashed away  Poor cat, looked like it was break dancing. Nice music and graphics. Great job
I'm not usually into rhythm games but I found yours approachable with a nice music track. I didn't notice there was no penalty for mashing, like others said, so I beat it fair & square and didn't have much trouble. The hit detection seems very forgiving if you press the button late but not early, which wasn't expected. Also wish there was more time to watch the animations rather than the arrows! Could be fun to add bonuses for success streaks or something as well. Good job!
Not a small feat for a game jam, I guess you messed around a lot to make the music in sync with the markers. ^^ Nice job! What I really missed from the game is some VFX and some slight SFX when I press the buttons. For some reason my mind just couldn't get in sync with the button pressing and I think it's because other than the slight purple particle when hitting a note, I didn't see real feedback on my button push. Keep it up, nice job guys, cheers! :)
Very nice music and graphics! Thanks to the mashing technique I could get to the end! (although my fingers were getting exhausted...)
Playing regularly I got four button presses in before getting hopelessly lost. Maybe that's why I don't usually play rhythm games :)
i came because of the dancing cat but it was fun haha. A rhythm game in such little time is not easy, good job! The detection needs a little work but wasn't really a problem since you have a lot of "health" ^^
Music was pretty good, although I wish I had a better sense for the rhythm of it. Big fan of the change in feel halfway through! Also, loved the dancing cat and the ending screen lol
I suck at these kind of games but this was fun. Definitely throws you in a little too quick but the mechanic was simple and the graphics are nice
The concept is hilarious! And who can resist a dancing cat :smile_cat: The cute graphics deceive you into thinking it will be a chill game, but it's devilishly haaaard
Music is nice - with all of it's dynamics and changes. I managed to summon... a cake!

Haha, that was cool! Although it was quite hard at the beginning, I'd appreciate some warmup part or even a level :) But after a couple of tries, I got better. But I was able to summon always only a cake. Is there more? I have to try again. I'm not that old, I can do better! :D
I love that cute dancing cat and that mad wizard :D
Edit: No, I wasn't able to do better than cake :( But judging by the progress bar, it wasn't that bad! So I'll take it as a cake is pretty good result ;)

This game has one of the best premises of all the games I've played so far hahaha. I really like the 3d environment, it reminds me a lot of old pc games. It was a bit tough to get into the rhythm sometimes, but completed it after an embarrassing amount of tries. A solid entry, great job!
Thanks everyone for the feedback! It was our first time making a rhythm game :) The game has two endings: you either successfully summon a cake, or you fail(with a funny animation). We wanted to add more variety to the endings, but ran out of time.
Was not expecting the beat drop to happen halfway through (which made this even better)! Music was obviously a strong point and was very enjoyable. I noticed though that you can spam the arrow keys without punishment and you can still keep a full bar. Adding some type of consequence for hitting too early will definitely make people avoid exploiting that. But overall, fun entry!
Cute rhythm game!
My first time playing, the audio and visuals didn't sync right and it made it difficult to play (visuals were lagging behind by half a beat or so). Not sure what happened, but restarting fixed the issue right away.
I really like the character designs, the dance animations, and all the fancy effects that happen over the course of the ritual (and how they line up with the music). The rhythm game felt appropriately generous with the timing without being *too* easy. I would have loved even more positive feedback on a successful hit, like some screenshake or an animation on the arrow you hit, but obviously only so much you can squeeze into a weekend project.
After getting the cake I went back to see what happened when you lost, and I loved the animation there as well!
The music was very pleasant and I liked the distinct movements where the style shifted a bit. I really liked the melody, but think the game could have benefited from slightly "punchier" sound overall since you're trying to line up your button presses with the notes --- perhaps slightly different instrumentation or other changes in the audio software could have taken it to the next level.
Enjoyed this one a lot, good job team!
I drew a doodle of the dancing cat for you:

I summoned a cake! :D
Props for using Godot; I tried making a rhythm game myself back in LD48 but I wasn't nearly as successful. Feels like the music is slightly out-of-sync with the action, though; going by the visual cues seemed to give me slightly more accuracy than going by the music.
Nice music, by the way!
Nice little rhythm game! Very funny both regarding the protagonist and the things you summon! Come on cat give me some cake!!!! ;-) Great job!
I always have trouble with this kind of games - the HJKL controls really helped and I got my treat ^^ I love the models and these epic animations haha
For me the sync didn't match. It lagged a few times but it's a neat way to do the summoning theme.
Not bad rhythm game! Good Job! Sometimes it seemed to me that the arrows were a little out of rhythm. In addition, it was difficult to look at the dancing cat without distracting from the main process) Perhaps it was necessary to place the cat in the center of the screen, and the arrows somewhere under it)
