This was fun. The lighting effect is nice and makes it really creepy roaming around. The voice over was cracking me up. It would be nice if there were some more colors to the office or some kind of signpost or something to help tell the different areas apart so that the player could start to recognize where they are and orient themselves while they're exploring.
Absolutely loved the atmosphere in "Work Until You're Undead". The flashlight system stands out, creating genuine tension. The zombies, combined with stellar voice acting, gave me some chills. Sound design is definitely a highlight. Impressive work by the team! 👏
The recording of the voices were good, very clear and high quality
The atmosphere is great, for some reason made me long for more Zoom 100 episodes... The flashlight was cool, I love that sort of effect, but while I get the limited space here is supposed to be the flashlight area, the area feels massive to explore. The music is great, the voice acting is clear and the gameplay can becomes quite thrilling when a lot of zombies pile up on you! Corporative zombie slaying never gets old!
Sadly, fails to load in Safari and completely freezes Chrome on macOS. No low scores for that from me though, it's a game jam after all! :)
P.S. Seems to be a common issue w/ Godot 4.0 web builds.
the game is easy to understand and to play, really fun to block path and advance in this labyrinth. Alos i find it good to have different spawn if you plays again.
@antarian weird. It worked fine on my Mac mini M1 Chrome browser.
Man this game was fun! I loved the barks the intercom sent. "New ping pong table... get back to work!" haha! Finished it and had fun. Occasionally when you put a desk down you'd get stuck on it. I felt like you could see pretty well without the flash light. I found my self rarely moving the mouse except periodically. You moved very quick as well. But none of these things took away from the fun. Well done!
It froze the first time I tried to load it, but worked on second attempt.
Sweet little game and I like what you did with the atmosphere. It felt like I was stuck in a mall store or something. Escaped in 1:20
Well done!)
@draekdude may be related to me still being on Ventura 13.5.2, or it's some M1 Pro specific stuff
Edit: Tried it again, no luck
I love zombie games where you can just survive, the barricade idea is really cool ! Finished the game multiple time with a highscore of 38 sec, the light system is done really well and the sound design is good too ! Something i would have liked is a limited sprint so the zombies feel even more threatening ! Mood is nice and the voice calls are funny, nice game overall !
cool scary concept perfect for Halloween. at first i thought we can shoot the zombies with left mouse click but later realized the theme was to survive. was fun playing. good work.
pretty good! I was able to beat the game pretty quickly (1m 14s) I never really ended up using the barricade very much since the zombies are easy to dodge, but it's a neat concept nonetheless!
I liked the game concept, and I could see where the theme of limiting space through the use of barricades is supposed to come in. That said, I felt that placing barricades was not really necessary, because you could generally run past zombies easily. So the main difficulty was in finding the randomly placed keys and exit. The fastest I got after several runs was one with 26s, but most took over a minute.
I hate horror game, I was so scared and felt so stressed searching for the keys. Got all of them for the first try but man was the pressure big
I also ran into the issue where it didn't run the first time but a refresh did the trick. I enjoyed the voiceover and dry humor! Placing barricades seemed good for slowing down incoming zombies but not terribly needed, which I found fine because there also didn't seem to be a way to orient the barricades precisely. Nice job!
I really liked the tense atmosphere that the lighting and audio built up -- even though the zombies were fairly easy to avoid, I would feel pretty stressed about getting away from them. The barricades weren't super necessary, but it helped ease my heart a bit knowing that I had them and could place them down.
The presentation of the game is nice and the interpretation of the theme is smart (and relatable). The dark atmosphere adds to the gameplay and it was fun to play through!
Gameplay is simple, but the audio, lighting and the fact that it goes harder and harder every second you can't find the last thing you need sets up a great mood.
