Super cute and everything was so smooth! I liked the design choice of showing crosswalks only when the light was on. Overall had great fun :)

great little game! i wish there was more ways to lose, it would have held my attention longer but the polish and quality for compo is really inspiring to see!
I lived for two minutes. Beautiful, sweet, and well-balanced. At first, I thought it was a bit too simple, but then the rhythm became very complex, and I liked it.
@hammeredzombie Thanks for playing! Just so I know, how long did you play for? The hazards come in waves that take some time to activate, it starts getting hard about 2 minutes in.
@jester1454 Yes, it takes a little while to get going but after the first couple minutes the difficulty ramps up a lot.
Hey, Fupi! Such a cute little game you got here! : ))) As usual, you are my very first game played from an ever growing list. :D
Your sounds and visuals are so top notch as always! Simply beautiful and super cute and super polished! But nothing you don't know already. XD Cannot not love it!
On the gameplay, I realized you could get away with clicking more or less randomly just to "let creatures or cars pass" :D But then the overheating stopped me - nice [and needed for the balance] addition!
I survived for ~2 minutes 3 times. At one point it gets more or less (probably) impossible due to the unavoiable Crime Chicks haha (I don't think they disappear under any circumstance) :D
Ones I started using WASD, that was much better than the mouse but then I started breaking the light all the time :D Maybe I was impatient. Maybe the breaking from overheating could last a bit less, but it might be me. I wish there was more to do
For the rush the compo is, beautiful beautiful job, man : )) And balancing all of this is HARD! So good job!
Cheers! Happy game playing!
@aweskybear Yep, the energy meter was made to stop spamming! Good to know it worked lol. It's definitely possible to survive more than 2 minutes, I played for 6+ when playtesting, to stop the Crime Chicks all you have to do is click on them, it was in the instructions, and if they're coming down a street just block it so they stop. It's not that hard, you just gotta manage a lot of stuff at once.
Very polished game in every aspect !! Very cute game ! He could have been in "game and watch gallery" :)

02:10 was the first one, I had loads of fun, laughing on the cuteness, signals given via sound and screen. Overall a well polished entry. Would have loved a highscore menu but this was a compooo! So cool
@roroto-sic @lizz Thank you for playing! I'm honestly a little concerned to see that nobody's going beyond 2 minutes  What's going on? Does the game get too hard? Or too boring so you stop and give up?
@fupi for me, I think its a skill issue. I keep making them more angry and struggle lessening it xD an option could be to add a wave like pattern so there is time to recover for the nex wave (more goibg on or a longer wave).
Oh! And I was not clicking the crime chicks!!
This this! Maybe nobody clicked the crime chicks : ))
@lizz @aweskybear Oh well, that explains it. Clicking the crime chicks is what lowers your towns anger! Was it not clear that you're meant to click on them? I don't know how I could have made it clearer...
Love the mobile browser support, great time killer. Super polished for a compo game
I at the time had not read the instructions but did notice the crime chicks- assumed they are more points! F*ck around find out method it was  So, is my bad for not doing so. However now I know and tried it was a very important element- it makes the game way more fun! @fupi
Hi! I always have a good time playing your games! You always polish it so well! As a Dutch guy I'm like "trafic lights? At a roundabout??!" that's a rare sight  I have some feedback :-)
- The music is top notch, I really enjoy that. Can you tell me more about Bitwig Studio? - I was playing with the keyboard controls and there were two things I found out: 1. Somehow My brain clicked "right key" when I wanted the chicks on the top to go to the right. Instead of clicking the "up key" because the upper signal needed to be changed 2. I did not know what to do with the bad chicks. Later I found out that the game could be played with mouse too! I don't know how these issues could be solved other than just getting rid of keyboard controls
Also, did you know that someone else on here had a similar idea? I think its fun to see the diffrences between the two approaches https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/59/numbus-crossing
@wouter52 Thank you for playing! The keyboard controls are included as a convenience feature, they aren't even mentioned in-game for this reason. I'm honestly a little perplexed that most people seem to be reading the game page than the actual game instructions  I had too little faith in ya! I think I'm just going to remove the mention of keyboard controls from the page in that case. Thank you for the insight.
Also yes, there are actually multiple games I found that had this exact same idea! I struggled a lot with this theme lol :broken_heart:
@fupi no worries about the theme, the game was fun to play! I see the theme as a general method to nudge the developers into a mindset :sunflower:
Haha, 3 minutes from first attempt after exploding the crime chicks :D
Ok, it gets crazy haha!
This is terrifically well done, and **so** polished for a compo game! Adorable art and great music + sound effects (I’m always happy to see another “record mouth sounds and stuff-lying-around” person, it’s my favorite way to do sound effects). I also appreciate just from an urban-planning-philosophy stance that green means “walk” not “drive”. More communities should be designed like this one, crime chicks notwithstanding. Favorite game I’ve played in this LD so far, and there’s some stiff competition. Lovely work.
oh no, the chicken nuggets in the ending T_T XD
It's a fun take on the joke about the chicken crossing the street. I remember about this joke but not the details of it though xD
The chicks are so cuuuuute! Even when they get angry... That's also cute! >v<
The pacing of the game starts to pick up and it becomes pretty intense :') But at first it's a cute road management game if I can call it that way? I like how the worsening of the situation was reflected in that smiley face in the centre :D
Very fun and feels polished, and ofc your art is always cute!! Great work in just 2 days also ^^
Btw, I like your take on the Signal theme. I don't think I saw much on traffic lights yet, and it IS a signal, so that's cool!
My time:

P.S. I didn't expect the fox would turn out to be an owl, remembering your post with that question XD Sorry!
P.P.S. Noticed a comment about criminal chicks, wanted to point out for me it was obvious I am supposed to click on them!
What a great game. It also fried my brain when the action really started to ramp up. So much polish here for a Compo entry. You did a great job. Not really got any critique as it works great as-is. Good stuff :8ball:
@mahalis I should make my own sounds more often! My live chat went crazy when I made the horn and ambulance sounds lolol
@kanity Yes! I chose to use traffic lights because in my language they are just called "signals", so it was one of the first things I thought of hehe
@oddballdave Thank you very much I appreciate it!!
@fupi oh wow, that's interesting! :o
@wouter52 Sorry I missed the part of your comment where you wanted me to talk more about Bitwig Studio! There's not too much to talk about really, it's a DAW like many others that I chose because it's basically Ableton but cheaper hehe, it has support for Midi effects which I use extensively, you can build your own complex modulation systems, it supports 64bit and 32bit VSTs which Ableton does not, and also it has a native Linux version which is neat.
I made it to 20:12 before losing intentionally:
Proof
My strategy is to have left-hand on WASD, right hand on mouse, keep all crosswalks disabled by default and periodically enable all 4 at once for about a second before disabling them all again. This leaves plenty of time to go around clicking the crime chicks as they appear.
@henk Looks like my attempts to stop cheesing were unsuccessful xD I'm happy to see someone get beyond 2 minutes at least!
This game is fantastic! It’s easy to understand, simple to play, and incredibly fun!
The difficulty ramps up in a really satisfying way, keeping you engaged without ever feeling overwhelming. It also has a very pleasing aesthetic that adds to the overall experience.
It’s a perfect reminder that you don’t need a complex concept to create a great game, this is a brilliant example of that.
Congratulations! :vertical_traffic_light: :baby_chick: :traffic_light: :red_car:
Using traffic lights to illustrate the theme of signals is quite novel. I wonder if it has the intention of encouraging people to pay more attention to traffic safety. Hahaha, it's quite funny. The picture is very cute and interesting, and it can leave a strong impression. It's very playable and I think this is very important for a game. In summary, being able to create such a game in such a short time is truly remarkable. I'm looking forward to the upcoming works!
A beautiful and chill game about chickens crossing the road, I loved it. The artwork and sounds were excellent and the gameplay was simple but engaging. I particularly liked the ramp up in difficulty to introduce all the concepts. I didn't read closely and kept letting the bad chicks into the coop and losing but I got much farther after I realized how to deal with them. Nice work.
@hagamosvideojuegos @zhangzhimu @bentglasstube Thank you guys for saving me! This week has been hectic and I haven't played as many games as I should
Very polished. I like the cute / stressful combination
Extremely cute, polished, and fun.
Great little Game & Watch style game! I played for about 6 minutes until I got my fill. I really liked the graphics, the audio, really everything is very cohesive and there are lots of nice little details and bits of polish. Also, the game has a very early 2010's webgame vibe- this would have blown up the flash game sites back in the day!
As noted by another commenter, there should probably be a little something more to add difficulty once the player gets far enough into the game to prevent it from feeling stale. Making the signal lights break after too many inputs is really good at preventing ⬆️➡️⬇️⬅️ spam, but additional hazard types (or maybe a penalty for making the chicks 'rush' when taking away crosswalks?) could have made the gameplay loop a little more resilient and make getting further more difficult. But, of course in a jam that sort of thing doesn't always make it in! ;)
Also, as an aside, the gameplay/conceit reminds me of the old GBA game "Digidrive" (which is a big compliment, I love Digidrive!)
Overall, a wonderful little one-screen action game. Great work! :)
@hacksawunit Thank you for playing! I didn't want to add a penalty to taking away the chick's crosswalks because it's very fun to do lol. I wish I could have added more hazards as well but I was short on time, I finished the game with only about an hour to spare. In general I prefer jam games to be a little on the easier side anyway so people can see all the game has to offer without spending too much time.
Cute! And very polished, great job! Loved the artstyle, the organic sfx, and the music - it all works really well together and creates a cozy atmosphere.
Don't get cross with me, but I really *have* to point out that it has as much in common with the concept of a roundabout as Balatro with a concept of poker  As a driver, my expectations were subverted a few times in a row and I found it really funny.
Loved the chicken nuggies joke ^^
@thelastslowpoke I'm a driver too bro I'm just stupid :sob:
@fupi I just googled roundabouts in Brazil and I get it now, it's just a cultural thing ^^ I have a very different relationship with them. Anyway, don't worry about it ^^
EDIT: I just had a shower and realized this may sound like I consider all Brazilians stupid xD I don't!!! What I'm saying is, I drive different roads, and you drive different roads, so we have different traffic understanding models in our minds. I got slightly whiplashed when starting the game, and found it funny, and it was very ignorant of me infer that you don't drive. What I experienced was the difference in our models! I'm from Poland btw. I am aware that people drive differently in different places, for example Italian driving is ridiculous for me (I've been a few times there). Hell, in Warsaw we have traffic infrastructure that I would consider insane, and wherever you are in Poland you can tell if someone is visiting from Warsaw, because they drive so differently (this and the licence plate ^^). I'm pretty sure that on the other side of the globe differences in driving culture are far from subtle. Anyway, don't worry about it
@thelastslowpoke Don't worry I didn't take it as offensive! I don't think I see what you're seeing but even for Brazil the roundabout in my game is pretty fucked up. For one, the cars turn LEFT to enter it, even though we drive on the right, which leads to cars crossing eachother's paths all the time, also the inside of the roundabout only has one lane instead of two, which is also pretty dangerous! Also of course, real roundabouts don't usually have traffic lights, but I needed them here for the game to work. Even though I take a roundabout every day to get to school, this doesn't mirror how roundabouts are in Brazil, I just made it that way because I did not look at any reference and instead was just thinking about the game mechanics lol, when I realized these mistakes it was too late to change them. And ofc, the craziness of the driving is just to make it more difficult x)
Extremely cute and somehow feels nostalgic. Gets slightly repetitive, but doesn't overstay its welcome.
I like the squeaks!
