Love this! Got a high score of 38.
I really like how the play style adapts to the longer snake, having to wrap around the world multiple times instead of turning - It's a real challenge.
One feedback would be, controller support! Using analog controls for this would be top notch

The repeating level is a great unique take on the theme! It is a little hard to control the snake though, although that may just be due to my low-end hardware :)

I loved it! The art is great and the sphere really looks like what could be a pocket universe. It lacked some feedback when eating a fruit, like the snake blinking, the sphere radiating some light and the fruit exploding with particles effects. Otherwise this is a great idea for a really cool entry!
Have you considered using procedural generators for the music, like Maestro Robo?
Ssssimple controllsssss, but Ssssssnakessssss, don't eat ssssstrawberriessssss!
Congrats on your first game jam entry!!! Nice job on giving us a high score to beat too (I did beat it, and got 63 points). I do wish I could have easily seen my score while the game was running (maybe it was there, but I didn't see it).

I really enjoyed your game, it's a game everyone knows but the twist you gave it is amazing, like the expanding snake sprite, also the planet that lights up a bit to show where the raspberry is. Great :D
Great game! Easy to learn and play
Graphics are really clean and a little trippy. Plays really nicely and fluidly. No complaints! Solid game

Worked very well in my browser, and I got a score of 52 after a few attempts that got me to around 30. Seeing oftentimes only the end of your own tail moving in front of (and behind :p) is a great challenge as you have to act very quickly a lot of the time on to save yourself on this curve. One of the most engaging games I've played yet :>

this is fantastic!!! i love non-euclidean stuff so much. got very invested discovering the optimal play-style for this world-bending adaption to the snake formula. extremely engaging and one of the best i've played

Ekans! I'll be honest the chromatic aberration on the edges really messed with my eyes, but this Snake remix was actually really cool. The ground proximity coloring is a very nice effect. The start "button" was actually pretty confusing. It's only clear it's a button when you hover over it. I desired sound effects and music / ambience.
Feels like slither.io, missing the control with mouse

Great take on a classic! Plays very smoothly and it's quite fun (especially seeing yours and other's highscores).

Cute snek 🐍 and cute snek game, seeing tail wiggling in front of snek's head while on a sphere is trippy (in a good way!). Nice work!
Great game! You made such a cool twist from the classic one. Gotta love snek!
Thank you for playing, and your comments, and reviews! It's so fun to see your reaction! Regarding your advice - most of it I am aware of, I just prioritised polishing other things. Regarding your enthusiasm - <3 My friend just got to a whooping 84 (!) and made a photo of what life feels like when snacke. rtx_on.png It's so cool to see others come up with strategies I didn't think of.
By the way, this universe is not a sphere, the projection of it definitely looks like it, because the curvature is spherical. It's half a sphere connected to itself on the edges. And you can see the whole universe at once in any given moment (though the edges are just a little bit obstructed to look better).
This was super fun! Best snake game ever!
As a fellow snake game enjoyer, nice job :smile_cat: I had to keep trying until I got higher than 49! Is there a score during play that I missed? I didn't know if I was over 49 until after it ended

It works so well ! Amazing work for your first game jam !
It's a snake but in 3D with a sphere as a level to play in. Nicely done.
@don-shinski, @kennyklizzle There is no score during gameplay, because I realized it was distracting. If you need it super badly though, it should be in the browser developer console ^^ I'm glad you liked the game!
I would probably add it as an option if I were to make a release with fully explored concept.

Very fun game, I was able to get to 59, which seems to be your score as well! But when I see other people's score, then those are rookie numbers. :) Otherwise, great wrapping mechanics here and I liked the effects on the globe. That said, I think the hitboxes could be a tiiiny bit smaller, sometimes it felt that I ate myself even though I thought I would make it. But that's no biggie, very cool entry!

A game of snake, but in a different plane, in sphericity. I like it. It was challenging and fun.

This perspective is messing with me  at any given point in time it simultaneously feels like your snake is not even that big yet and still it is everywhere - very well executed!
@bumble Glad you're experiencing it, because that's what I was aiming for! The universe is just a lot smaller than it seems.

EKANS! Such a cutie pie. Also, good job actually making a working game from this perspective as your first game jam game

my score 33 (play 2 times) so thats good theme game nice!
I felt like there was some delay between me pressing the arrow key and the ekans turning which made controlling it pretty frustrating. But I like the concept of you wrapping around the world. Neat twist on snake.

Simple, fun and nice. Congratulations !
I love the intro animation, where the grey button turns to reveal the game area.
Maybe it would have been easier to understand what happens if the world was displayed as a real sphere, with some dezoom to show it entirely.
It reminds me of this game : https://sokyokuban.com/ . It's a non-euclidean soko-ban.

This is a super interesting game, I really love this twist on snake. Really good decision to make the fruit light up as well, so you can always see it across the globe. Good job!
@recher Holy hell, hyperbolic sokoban is crazy xD Thanks for your comment! I'm not sure if I understand your suggestion correctly, but I think I did exactly that! Maybe it's easier to see that on my half-way-there prototype at https://thelastslowpoke.itch.io/ld54-36h-prototype (password: snake) if you want to check it out.
Very awesome! Would play again.
Addictingly awesome, I played it over and over until I got an I Love You for my score. :) Aside from adding a few sounds, this game is perfect. Great work!

Managed to (unintentionally) score 69 points when I dead-ended myself. Nice. Such an interesting twist on snake and it plays super smooth. Well done!

Fun spin on a classic, very fitting the theme! Had fun with it ^^
Nice take on a 3d snake!
@frib Nice. So now 75% of Bimbi's Cosmo Party's crew already played my game xD Y'all tireless. I played a lot of games myself and although it's absolutely fantastic to see what others came up with, if I were to play them back to back all day every day, I would definitely go insane. By the way, I loved your game, it's one of the most memorable ones ^^ I think it's one last game today. Dwarf Looter is already booted and I love the music coming from that tab @khelian! @matthieu-riboulot You either played my game simultaneously or someone is using two accounts to rate

This snake game is one of the most classical video game. But you convert it on a 3D small world to fit even better the theme. The animation of the Snake is good but a bit more of degrees to turn the head would help to move it mo re precisely I think. And maybe the environment is a bit too dark (even if you put a light around the fruit). A bit more of textures on the ground would give more clarity. Otherwise didn't find any bugs. Good job.

@thelastslowpoke I'm doing my part!
I did see your game before when our team was still together physically, but I wasn't the one playing then. Saw it pop up on the smart list again so decided to give it a try myself because I knew it would be fun :D sometimes rating games can feel like a chore but then you come across a gem and it makes it all worth it lol
Glad you liked our game!
@thelastslowpoke, we often play and rate simultaneously, we are from the same team no worries :)
10 dizzy snakes biting the tail / 10
I thought that it will be easy to get high score but I found that it is very challenging to react on smth looking like a ball. Distance was very strange and it was really hard to dodge my own tail.
Nice addition to the classical snake experience. Absolutely enjoyed it (except that dizzy feeling).
Got to 43 points. Well done. Lack of sound didn't affect my at all.

Looking great, and it's fun to play. I would have liked to see a bit more new and interesting ideas to the snake gameplay. But overall an okay little jam game.

Got to 52 points. Presentation and gameplay is solid and enjoyable. I particularly liked the glow, which helps you locate the next fruits. A few basic sound effects would've been appreciated, but that's how game jams go.

what an excellent concept! I really appreciate the glowing particle effects so that i can still find the berries in the small confined (planet?). And the spherical map was a really neat way of portraying the environment. Good job!

My high score is 45! We both made space themed snake games too, so bonus points for that ;) Well executed, the space is misleadingly small. I can't quite put words to it, but it doesn't feel like it's really a sphere, but instead a fish eye lens effect? I felt like I was reaching the same spot really quickly relative to what the "sphere" looks like
I didn't think it would be possible to innovate more on snake but you've absolutely nailed it. The gameplay felt really smooth and the snake itself was easy to control. It's such a fun moment when you see the snake starting to wrap around the sphere, really nice job!
@croze space snake friends! You're right with the shape! The manifold you play in is not a complete sphere, it's half a sphere connected to itself on the edges. In fact, you can see the whole universe at the same time. Although the furthest points from you are not looking preety so I've kinda hidden them, so not exactly the whole universe.

the game is quite interesting, it was fun to play, everything was done well, both the controls and the game design itself
