nice entry! the artworks are really great, but I assume because of the limited time there was no way to make more fluid animations. it makes it feel a bit choppy sadly, especially as projectiles are a bit choppy too. I felt like that was a big issue for responsive gameplay, as it was hard to tell for me what was really going on. nonetheless it's still a great entry, the character sprites were exceptionally good!

Great entry! I couldn't win a round, but the visuals were stunning! I'm not sure if the shield was doing anything, I still seemed to take damage even when it was active.

It is good design but feels laggy/shuttery with the low frame rate for the animation. I don't blame you, it is hard to animate multiple characters with deadline of 2-3 days. Outside of that, it quite unique take on the theme, a fighting game wasn't something I would thought about but it works well.
@lorddaniel thank you for your feedback. Yeah good animations were hard and my artists tried their best but they are nice girls. But we made all what we wanted ^-^

Amazing artwork, loved the voice acting, really cute and nice. But damm the gameplay kind of succs frfr, you awlays wana spam attack, always wana stun when enemy is attacking with webs and shiled when they attack with purple stuff. I Also dislike how she just wins when I still have some health left and commits the fatily on me, like damm atleast depleat my hp bro.
@evilmurlock I think she used ultimate in the end. It kills anyway and she wins without lowering your hp to 0
The game itself wasn't too fun, felt a bit repetitive and like I wasn't in control of much. The art was nice, but didn't really enjoy the gameplay, wish there was more going on.
Didn't understand everything, looks like the shield doesn't work, and can't use my ultimate. But artworks looks great.

@taeghen maybe you should read tutorial more carefully next time. Shield decrease incoming damage by 50% and ult you should charge by using stronger abilities in trigger time (sometimes you can see icons on top os arachna had)
@jesse-j-jones maybe I can agree or maybe you don't like this type of games. But you really can do much for example with E you can decline her abilities, shiels you should use for her poison and etc. But I reccomend you to try finish our game and see finish animation haha

It could be fun if i'd like games like this, but unfortunately it wasn't. I dont understand how the theme works in this game, because as i see it doesn't. Game seems a bit off topic. But it's made well: cool arts and music. Good luck!
@n3k0k33p3r yeah, we just wanted to make fighting and decided to make limited space with a cave but of cource its XD but I still believe you liked the game
I'll start with the issues I encountered. There was a low frame rate in the web build, even though I was playing on a powerful PC. If I died, the mouse cursor wouldn't appear, and the menu wasn't clickable. However, I did like the art and sound aspects, but to be honest, it was quite challenging to play and block attacks effectively due to the low frame rate. Overall, I enjoyed it. Thank you for the game.
@mainvar ohh its strange maybe it isn't lags maybe its because our animations don't have a lot of frames and they feel like that. And about death thank you I will fixed it now

@anton4ik-dev, you might be right, but there were times when I had difficulty getting the character to respond to my commands, and it felt like there was a delay. Perhaps this is intentional, but I just mentioned what I noticed. In any case, the game is fantastic.
@mainvar Try a different browser, I'm facing the same problem. However, we really don't have enough frames in the animation. We worked to the maximum in these three days and did everything we could.) thanks for the feedback
Cool idea, I don't see too many fighting game entries :) Couldn't beat the first opponent though, either I wait with my attacks until there's an opening, or I spam them. Either way I lost by a fair margin. Audio is a bit repetitive - maybe the opponent's line gives some cue that I missed?

Liked it. Although i don't think that it's a good idea that you can cancel skill by pressing another. Overall great. Final anim is classic ;)
Fun game! It is very difficult at first until you learn the flow of the game. challenging enemy. The artwork is amazing! And the style is awesome. Love the music and the voice acting especially when you get to use your super move.
The art was fantastic. This played like an old Tiger electronic game but with more colors and less beeps. Nice work.

Great graphics, and cool music too, the batlle is a bit **confuse** i think a **turn by turn can be better** or a full action fight like a real fighting game, but not this hybrid gameplay. The gameplay not work well for me.

This reminds me of skull girls, it looks good and especially characters are really pretty. It feels like it's a part of some kind of extended universe, is there more lore coming or is this just a stand-alone minigame?

Cool artwork ! The gameplay is interesting, but I never got a win, I never managed to land the upgraded attacks. But it's really hard to know why because there is a lack of feedback on what I'm doing. I think that the effect of skills could be boosted by a lot to have more impact. I'd want to eat a big chunk of health when I slash, and completely cancel damage when I block. That way the timing for the use of skills would be way more important, currently I didn't see a real strategy as the amount of damage is almost constant, making the timing of the block unimportant, it felt like the best strategy was to play skills as soon as possible.

@jrevel you could use your shield for her poison and decline her stun with your stun and stuck ulty - this is first and second - you could just combine all your skill for big damage - q, shift+q, e, when stun end shift+e and easy win. I think you could try!
Really difficult game but it was really cool, I haven't seen any other submission like this, the art was really well drawn and the voice acting was hilarious, normally I don't play these types of games but I wanted to give it a chance and I'm glad I did! I loved all the animations for attacking, blocking, and stunning, the game is really well designed, good submission!

A wonderful main character) For me, the passage seemed quite difficult, apparently I’m not the best driver. I don't speak english well, so the plot was hard to follow, but the game feels good, I liked it!!!!

@jrevel Thanks for the feedback. The shield lowers the damage, but does not cancel the ability. If you don't want to get caught in the web, stun Arachne. To get the ultimate, you need to press shift+q\w\e 3 times when a hint appears above Arachne's head) we have a good game balance)
@azekinasasha our animation is really a bit ragged, but we did everything we needed to complete the game. However, there are lags with the browser itself in which you run the game, try to run it in another one. Also on MAC also lags
I love the art and it's a great concept. I just don't quite understand the connection with the theme :sweat_smile:

Really solid entry! Loved the art and music. Game was fun, felt challenging to charge up an ultimate in time to actually use, especially if I was focusing on stunning to prevent getting locked by the web

Even though I really liked the visuals, it just felt the only gameplay leading to winning is to prevent enemy from stunning you by stunning her in the proper time. I couldn't make the special combo to trigger. The block feels like complete flop since it doesn't block the stun attack. I would like to see more Rock paper scissors mechanic where on would count. Visuals were cool though :heart:
Visuals are great, but feels laggy because of the animation frame rate. I may have missed somehting, I didn't see the relation with the theme "Limited Space".

The graphics were so amazing! I found it difficult to understand when the round itself actually started, for some reason I was waiting for some sort of indication that the round began and didn't even realize I was taking damage. It was a bit difficult with my abilities getting cancelled a lot when I unexpectedly get webbed up, though.
The music and the audio is definitely amazing tho! The music itself sounded pretty professional and was pretty funny to listen to while playing haha. Overall, amazing job!

I really loved the cohesiveness of this game. The art, music and gameplay were all really good and felt like they fitted together. I was absolutely terrible at the game though. I have no idea how on earth you can win, but I guess it is part of the fun trying to figure that out. A bit more feedback to the player would have been nice, like some cool flashes when you are using a specialy or ability, or some signals when you try to use an ability which is on cooldown. At first I did not notice my powers were on cooldown at all, and I was wondering why I could not do my abilities half of the time XD
All in all, really well done! I enjoyed it :D
Well, this turned out to be an unexpected challenge! But this is exactly the case when the game teaches, but does not lead you by the hand, and allows you to study the process yourself and identify fight patterns, learn and win. Music is now on my playlist for making love, because I haven't been loved like this since Bloodborn! But this time I didn't have to sweat and break the controller, so I can definitely say I was loved much more pleasantly in this game than in Miyazaki's masterpiece! And have you noticed how the rhythm of the music matches the action on the screen? Cool idea! I really liked the fact that the game does not force you to use all the provided mechanics, but allows you to complete it using only part of them, this is definitely a big important thing for me! I also liked the art work, character designs, and backgrounds. Anyway, a nostalgic storm of memories made me remember the times of flash games. I wish success to the development team, and I hope one day you'll decide to make a 3D game and to call me to draw a thousand barrels for it in Blender! MY BODY IS READY!
@wuppos Thank you. Next time we will definitely take a person to the team who will only deal with the user interface. Try to use cheats to block the pink poison, and use stun so that Arachne can't catch you in the web. And it is also very important to press Shift+q\w\e when hints appear on the screen to get an ultimatum
I like the art style and the music. However, I personally do not think that this game really hit the theme. Yes, it is in a cave, but that is a little thin. The web version appears to be a bit laggy, as well. Nevertheless, I enjoyed it, even though I think that I could not beat it.
So cool! For the first few rounds it was difficult to win, but the queen plays the same way every time. After understanding the pattern, the fight was doable and winning felt great! I don't think the mechanic left much to explore, but for a small game like this it's awesome. Loved the music and sounds. And... probably a lot of people already said the art is great ^^

I find myself frequently relying on a specific set of actions, such as spamming attacks and utilizing specific abilities like stunning and shielding against particular enemy attacks. It would be wonderful if the gameplay encouraged more diverse strategies and tactics to keep it engaging throughout.
Additionally, I've noticed that sometimes the game's victory conditions feel a bit abrupt. It would be more satisfying if there were opportunities for a more gradual depletion of my health before the final confrontation. This would add an extra layer of challenge and excitement to the gameplay.
Overall, I genuinely adore the game, and I believe that these minor adjustments could make it even more enjoyable for players like me who appreciate a bit more variety and depth in their gaming experiences.
I'll be the odd one out and say that I liked the animation despite it having few frames - each move sticks out more like this which is important in a fighting game. Great art and sound as well. I'm not so sure it follows the theme but I enjoyed it regardless. Good work!

Enjoyed the art style and overall look and sound. Struggled with the fighting though. Input felt unresponsive/laggy though that might be a result of how the combat is set up. I feel like it's somewhere between a regular real-time fighting game and a turn-based fighting game, when it would probably feel better if it were just one or the other.
I really love the purr sound when she attacks! The gameplay is a little tough though. Eventually I figured out that I could cancel the enemy stuns by reacting to the animation and using my stun. I never did figure out how to use the ultimate though.

Really interesting. I'm a big fan of fighting games and this really nails some key aspects of that genre while still doing something different.
Presentation is awesome. If I would improve something that would probably be the feedback for each action player takes. Now it feels a bit delayed each time due to how animations work in this game. I'm sure it is also an artistic choice but it probably hindered my experience a little.
But overall, a superb entry!
@nash Thanks for the feedback. Yes, we do have a problem with recoil and user interface. However, the game can be played to the end if the player thinks a little more. The gameplay is deliberately created not for casual, but in order for the game to be really difficult and the player to have a pleasant feeling after winning. The usual attacks were deliberately painted with fireballs so that the artists would have time to draw the main blows. I'm tired of hearing about the meager art in the game. I'm really sad. We did everything we could, but many did not appreciate it. We have calculated everything based on our capabilities. We really did everything we could. there are four of us, not counting the sound. But practice shows that people prefer simple platformers, okay :)
I'm sorry I just really don't get it...Other than some completely unfinished games, this is the worst LD entry I've played in years, by far. Even if we time travel back 25 years to the age of sketchy flash games, this still wouldn't be worth playing.
It's not fun, unoriginal, and has nothing to do with the theme. Graphic is quite rough except maybe some folks fell in love with the thicc thighs. Audio is OK, but very noisy and doesn't really fit the characters or theme.
I'm curious to see what scores this get in the end.
The art of this game is phenomenal! I really like all of the visuals and the audio for the game, and I think that while making a fighting game in such a short time is definitely a risk, it comes across very well visually! I did feel that there was a little bit of a delay with some of the inputs and animations, which may have been intentional, but I feel like smoothing that just a bit would add quite a lot to the experience. Overall, great job! Especially with such a bold choice of genre for the jam!

Amazing work for a jam game. I have mainly 2 small complaints. In these types of games I try to animation-cancel basic attacks if possible, in this game when I try to animation-cancel by looking at animations I seem to often cancel the damage from my basic attack, so I found it more accurate to look at enemy health bar dropping for good timing. Would've liked if there was a much clearer visual effect to show the exact moment when a basic attack would hit.
My second issue is with getting ultimate charges from enhanced abilities. It partly discourages you from using abilities so that you can get charges at the right timing, but this lowers your overall DPS. On the other hand, if you spam abilities and happen to get a chance to gain ultimate charge, it feels like you were lucky just because that specific ability was not on cooldown. I would've much preferred if ultimate charges were gained from well-timed guards or animation-cancels.
Still, this was a great jam entry and really enjoyed playing it. Kudos also on nice sprites, music and voice acting, and congrats on submission.

- I liked the art and the audio - The weakness/vulnerability usually appeared while I was in the middle of an ability, so it would be cool to get like a heads up 2 seconds before the indicator shows up. - Getting webbed was pretty annoying, the only way of combating that is to stun the opponent mid cast, but it was very time sensitive, and if done wrong you lose your stun and get stunned yourself which is very punishing. - I didn't notice the difference between the web and poison attack (cast animation) and would cast the shield on enemy cast wasting it most of the time, also the shield felt useless and not very fun to use. - You could cast the empowered attacks while performing another attack, which isn't bad in it of itself, but the most success I found when I used this to minimize the amount of my characters cast time so I had maximum basic attack time.
@ellaris We could have done something non-standard, and we did it. Is complex gameplay a bad thing?
@yurain33 I'm glad you went for it, and complex gameplay is not a bad thing. If anything I think your game is not complex enough, because I find it best to just button mash. - It would also be nice to hide the UI during the final animation, I didn't know what was happening at the time.
First time seeing an action game like in a game jam, very interesting take. Gameplay probably would have needed a little bit more love to be super smooth and polished, but you did a great job with the time you had. Congrats also for the graphics and the music and SFX, they really fit in with the mood and setting you were going for.
Nice character designs and animations. It took a few rounds to get into the flow of the game. It feels kind of like a turn based fighting game which is pretty cool. It might be cool if there was a visual way to show the cooldown time for a move (like color gradually changing back when it's ready to use again or a progress bar) so the player knows what is about to come back to be available again.
Loved the artwork and sound :) Combat took a few attempts to understand and even then I am a bit vague. Still, this was a great game!

The art style was amazing and the gameplay loop was actually really fun. It took me a while to learn when to use the stun and shield to effectively beat the spider queen.
Surprisingly clean presentation for game jam! While the mechanics are explained thoroughly in the text tutorials, it is very easy to forget or misunderstand once you start playing. It would be much better to start with one mechanic, and add on other as the game goes on.
Rare to see a fighting game in Ludum! Character and UI art look great! I wasn't sure if there was a more effective away to play than to spam attack and stun as much as possible. It didn't seem like I could effectively block since the enemy was more or less constantly attacking.

Wow, an action fighting game! I think it's the first I've played from a jam. One thing that I felt was that the controls/mechanics are all introduced at once, and shortly after I had already forgotten what they did. I wasn't having much luck in defeating the queen, and after 3 tries I had to call it a day 😅 The art looked really nice, even though the animations are more like stop motion as opposed to fluid, it's a great effort for the time you had. I'd like to see finished animations with all the frames, it'd be even more cool. The music starts ok but then gets into a very good bangin' vibe. The voice acting is very clear, but it got a bit repetitive. All in all, this is a very solid game with some room for becoming even better. Keep up the good work!

I love this style of fighting game! Like the Soul Fighter event, it's pretty simple but addicting. The animations and art were really good too. Dodging the attacks with the flip was very satisfying. I wish the shield timing mattered more like if there was a super big-looking attack that you had to try to keep it off cooldown for.
