The start is a bit slow, I read the intro text and then had to wait a bit for the next slide, perhaps a skip option for that slide when you've read it. Didnt' expect the top down game-play after that though, that was a surprise, interesting choice, works, though a bit small - most things. I do love my top down games though! Solid jam game overall, enjoyed it!

Are we the baddies?
Really high effort entry, great execution!

This was a solid entry. While I liked the lore sections in the start and in between the two parts, I wish there was a way to skip the text.
I feel like there's something off with the movement but I can't really put my finger on it. I think it's a bit too fast and feels kinda weightless. Maybe adding some slight acceleration would make it more lifelike.
Overall a very enjoyable entry. Also, I'm glad to see some great folklore in this jam.

I really like the idea and the gamplay is also pretty fun. The movement feels way to fast compared to reality, but I think it creates the right kind of frantic gameplay which gives the right emotion of trying to run around while avoiding guards like a medieval pacman
Fun game with a cool art style and a funny story.
I love your concept, the theme of the game is amazing! - The Revenge of the pied piper is a great hook for a game, and I never say no to a chance to drown children (although when the police come knocking I will deny ever saying that!)
Cozy little gameplay loop, and I really enjoy the aesthetic of the map, really felt like those old mapped drawings of old towns that where made,
my main point to critique is that the player, the rats and the children and guards where really small, and it was quite hard to see what I was doing - the most important elements to keep track on was in general too small.
Great concept, hard to see children though.
very cool game cool
Really cool game and a good concept I found the game was difficult to work at some points and it felt slow to get started. Hard to see the children. It did take a bit to get use to but after I got the hang of the game I has lot of fun great game guys

This is a pretty cool idea, but I think it would be massively helped by a change in scale - it's difficult to see what's going on, things move a bit too fast, details are a bit hard to make out, and overall the visible playspace feels very large.
This game has a lot of great personality, and is pretty close to being great all-round!

Best game I have playtested so far!
As others have said, a way to make the intro lore go faster would have been great, as I already read the description of the jam page.
Even so, I'd like to mention I REALLY like the idea. Aside from the current silly game, I think a full on development of a similar game, with a more ... sinister tone could do wonders.
Additionally, I really enjoyed the music and general gameplay loop.
A slightly more polished character movement would have been ideal, but it already is more than decent.
Great entry, thoroughly enjoyed it!

The concept is simply brilliant, and the way it blends top-down gameplay with a rich, lore-filled narrative is impressive. The art style is nostalgic, and the medieval map aesthetic makes the world feel authentic and immersive. It almost feels like a medieval version of Pac-Man, which is a fun twist! That all said, the game's concept, atmosphere, and overall execution make it a standout jam entry! Great job, team! 👏🚀

I wasn't expecting the plot twist in the second part lmao. Good concept!
"Now drown the children in the river" lol, that caught me off guard. I did die kind of suddenly at the end. Perhaps a health system or brighter more visible guards would help.
Cool game! Of course, at the very beginning I did not fully understand how the mechanics work, but after that I figured it out a little. The visual is pleasant. Good job!
The amount of effort that went to this really shows, the game is superb! I loved the menus, right down to choosing the difficulties. The game is maybe a little easy, but it's such a great concept for the theme. Nice work!

10/10 matching with theme, keep going bro!
Absolutely hilarious. In my first run I must've achieved the world record or something, because I was well beyond double the score requirement to reach the highest tier.
Anyway, I recorded myself playing to deliver maximum feedback. Great game!

Cute art style and perspective. I liked the idea of luring those little plague rat creatures to their inevitable demise >:)

As a German I'm familiar with this tale and it fits really well to the theme. Good idea!
The graphics were solid. You could tell where you could go and what was a "barrier". The visual feedback for drowning something was integrated, but an additional sound would help to have even better feedback.
The guards in the second level are a good idea for ramping up the difficulty. But they need some changes. The guards are really small and they were pretty easy to avoid (I played on medium). You can see it also very good in @100th-Coin gameplay video, which was played on easy mode. On hard mode the guards seem to be more effective in his video.
The end screen was nicely designed with a reference on how well you've played. Great job and greetings from Stuttgart. :)

Very original game! I enjoyed playing it, and played a few times. I wish I could skip the cut scenes from the second time onwards though. Nice graphics, and the controls are smooth. When I could selected the difficulty, I kind of expected the music to change accordingly. The music was nice, but could use some more flute! I liked how there were more and more squeeky sounds as I gathered more rats behind me. I like how there are musical notes surrounding the player.
Well done! :musical_note:
How cruel! How could they not pay him? Great whimsical dark humor game. I really like the sfx! Lots of small nice touches, like the story being presented in a book. A tiny request from me though, please don't skip texts automatically next time, thanks!
