LD56 — Tiny Creatures

Fuel Metal Jacques by grena 2024-10-08T20:41:23Z

Great job! Jacques is adorable! loved the little guy, felt awesome yet quite macabre to realise that the fuel was these cute little creatures, and then in the Xray notice them being crushed for fuel D: XD - loved the theme, and the little among us styled mini game for cutting down the cute bob trees - The little touch that you where able to see your little guy from the cockpit view was something I loved as well!

Sound Desing was great - Art adorable, overall you managed to make your quite simple game mechanic feel satisfying, so the Game Juice is on point! - would love to see the idea being expanded on further, with maybe some obstacles as you gather fuel, more mini game types and maybe enemies to avoid!

Anyways, I enjoyed my time with Jacques, Great job!

Sky Rats by JemSmith 2024-10-07T22:57:29Z

Loved It! It was extremely satisfying stealing burgers from peoples hands, and you have just nailed the general game feel here! this was awesome - The concept and theme is just awesome!

KingdomOS by mr.kvinter 2024-10-08T21:33:18Z

Oh I love this concept - I really hope you have plans on taking it further and polish it more - Taking the Idle Clicking game genre and giving it this active spin, through RTS like game mechanics and multiple recources to manage - I love it, charming art style fun to see the little guys go!

My main problem I had was that the battles was not very readable - it was hard to gauge if my chances where good, or if i I had to go and gather reinforcements and manually gather more recources for that - or if I was winning and could relax and do that when the coast is clear - and I did not enjoy the computer to much, i do not feel it fet the theme that well, and would much more have liked a setting where you are a king scrambling through your map parchments to give out the orders to your kingdom - or something in that vibe, maybe the notifications could be your subjects come and read that, the keep is under attack or the village is under attack, so that you know where to go.

altough when I am sitting here critiquing the theming on a game jam game - thats a fairly good sign you have a interesting game loop going! - great job

Certain Drough by lazarche 2024-10-08T21:14:29Z

What are these mushrooms problem?!? all I am doing is trying to liberate their oil, come one dont have to bring the knifes to this!

Awesome theming, cute mushrooms, beautiful world - overall a solid gameloop - the cute sounds they make also made me smile, alot - gabgagbgabgahgba WEEEEEEE! - it was music to my ears,

Hardened Chitin by Stames 2024-10-07T22:28:10Z

I really really enjoy the graphics you have got going here, and the concept for the game! I am eager to see the future, It has huge potential!

Whisker Warrior by Taximan981 2024-10-08T12:34:06Z

LOVE THE MOUSE! - Whisker Warrior is a great name - great job, for a jam game I am very impressed, getting the gradurally increased strength felt really good! the sound on the needle weapon, felt satisfying, The blue slugs was a great inclusion, the focus on timing the shield really got apparent there - My main complaint would be the enemey design, while understandable during a Game Jam of course! AI is hard - but I noticed using very similar kiting strategies against each enemy, maybe the slower slugs could attempt to intercept you rather than just chase you, so that one might slowly appear while you are running away from the faster ones, or maybe a projectile shooting enemey could fit well, mortar styled projectiles, to prevent you from be able to kite in a straight line ocassionally swiping.

Other than that! cute game, great atmosphere and solid melee combat mechanics!

You Can Save The Rat by poboy 2024-10-08T20:15:19Z

HOW DARE YOU!? The horror of seeing my cat slash up the cute little guy! And then the second time everything went perfectly, and yet he died from food poisoning! D: IS IT EVEN POSSIBLE TO KEEP THE FLUFF ALIVE?!

Loved the game, great mood, the meow sound effect was amazing!..- I almost believed it to be a real cat. perfectly viscious!

You Can Save The Rat by poboy 2024-10-08T20:23:34Z

I also want, to add that I think its a really big undertaking for a game jam to attempt a narrative, and Rarely have I seen that type of game yield this sort of success! So great job on absorbing me and so many others as well as completely horrifying us! I really cared for Tiny!

Critter Cannon by Stefan B. 2024-10-08T18:28:57Z

THESE HEEEDGEHOOGS ARE ADORABLE!!!!!!!!! - such cute art, great job!

Ratrace by Malte Hedenstrom 2024-10-08T11:16:16Z

@SHAKIROVICH Hmm, I have looked into it myself, and I am guessing you used the normal "Extract All" right? - I do not know why but when I tried that myself just now, it did not work - I would recomend trying with 7Zip, or something Similar, as that is working for me at least. - if you are still intersted in giving the rat a try! :D

Ratrace by Malte Hedenstrom 2024-10-08T18:53:42Z

@edali Thank you! - Would have been interesting to see your take on the theme! - however I do enjoy your slug game as it is! :D

Ratrace by Malte Hedenstrom 2024-10-08T18:55:37Z

@slava-Besckaravainii @MistaGiggles @Matthieu Riboulo Thank you for playing, Yeah I agree it is quite confusing to understand what to do - We should defitely have added a quick tutorial, if so a text popup explaining the mechanics at start - I am glad you figured it out and got some cats evicted!!! - those cute fuzzy little guys, out on the street! Great job I am proud of you guys <3

Ratrace by Malte Hedenstrom 2024-10-08T18:58:17Z

@HardyTryer @Anton4ik @Alyxx116 @Taximan981 Thank you all for playing! Yeah, we did not have that much time for balancing, One trick I have picked up is running zig zack alot - the cats dont turn so well and it can win you some time, in the frantic ness - but its still quite hard to get them to the corners where all the breakables are - We should have populated the scene better I think, the center is quite empty.

Ratrace by Malte Hedenstrom 2024-10-08T19:02:09Z

@poboy haha Yeah, getting dropbear-ed by cats is a hilarious, all be it quite frustrating thing to happend - Good job on learning how to dodge them, can´t say me or my partner has gotten any good at it.

Thank you for playing, glad you enjoyed it! Those poor 2 cats, now left without a home D: all because of you! XD

Kill It With FIRE by Beep Boop 2024-10-08T18:47:10Z

Love your art style, and great game design - the use of different weapons to effectively deal with different pests! really encouraged weapon switching in a satisfying way - my only complaints is that it hurt my soul to kill the rats as I am a rodent lover!

Pixie Pilfer by Spaint 2024-10-08T21:04:53Z

Awesome concept! Love the pixie basically beiing a hippie - and there was something really really satisfying about frantically dragging a wine bottle under the sofa! While seeing the goblin approach, hoping I will make it in time, a flying mechanic in a stealth game is something I have not seen before, and I think you have done a great job here

Great concept, great art - I love the sound design a lot!

Datiny Five Hundredths by CasualNothing 2024-10-07T22:43:37Z

Completely love your character designs! Loading into the game I instantly got a huge grin when I saw the characters, ended up going with the fish, and jumped in - and I got to say great job with the Audio, the tune was awesome and it just felt good to play - despite being such a simple premise and game mechanically. One important question I have though, Was the engine sound made from a human mouth? XD

Pied Piper's Payback by Crygos 2024-10-08T20:32:21Z

I love your concept, the theme of the game is amazing! - The Revenge of the pied piper is a great hook for a game, and I never say no to a chance to drown children (although when the police come knocking I will deny ever saying that!)

Cozy little gameplay loop, and I really enjoy the aesthetic of the map, really felt like those old mapped drawings of old towns that where made,

my main point to critique is that the player, the rats and the children and guards where really small, and it was quite hard to see what I was doing - the most important elements to keep track on was in general too small.

Shrimpy by Kultuk 2024-10-08T12:07:23Z

Loved this! - such a fun concept, nice twist on the doodle jump styled gameplay - your captured the theme of the jam perfectly, and the theme of the game is awesome, it really felt so satisfying imagining helping out my little fish friend by cleaning its mouth. my fish friend who seemingly has eaten sushi somehow XD

Art is great, the little eating animation and sound was satisfying, great job

my main point of feedback is that it took a while for me to understand that the platform was platforms, they where pointy enough to indicate danger at a first glanse - I understand they are supposed to be teeth, but I think it would read more clearly if they where trubby teeth and a bit more rounded, or maybe even more squared teeth - doing a quick google on Fish Teeth, I see many species having almost like rounded squared teeth which could work great for the platform part and then have the pointy teeth in the back, and underneath being obstacles to avoid.

But other that that, Great job!

Nectar Nomads by Aaron Huggins 2024-10-08T18:39:19Z

Love the Bees, Really cute and nice vibe, while I have never really understood the appeal of Idle Clicker Games, I find this one to be a great addition to the genre XD - Great job, IT was cozy watching all the bees do their work!

Slug Sprooch by Mael Rios 2024-10-08T11:46:52Z

I enjoy your take on the theme a lot! - Love to see slugs getting some love <3

I enjoyed it, was a nice take on the Frogger ish styled mechanic, it was quite satisfying flinging over the slugs - I did not quite understand the predator mechanic however, did not notice any slugs being eaten and for me it mostly became just another piece I simply flung over to get some points after domesticating them.

I also really loved how when something died, they turned into an explosiony fire sprite, which was hilarious to imagine these little Slugs just exploding on contact XD

Palipop by Junyi_Chen 2024-10-08T11:37:06Z

I really enjoyed your concept - after realising it was not just a simple Match three game - My fault for not properly reading I guess XD - it got a ton of fun - I really enjoy the different levels you got going, that some where about reaching high, meaning the match three aspect is a obstacle, while some leans into as the solution! the added complexity by adding pieces as you go was also a nice touch! - I love your concept, its great, If you are to go further with this project, I believe it has huge potential - Your art was so cute, loved the little bubbles, and blob creatures - Popping was really satisfying and I enjoy your Audio, I kind of wish I could give a rating in that department!

Unfourtunately, which is understandable with it being a game jam game - I found myself getting stuck, burried by all the cute little things, where the best solution was frantically clicking the popping arrows to hope I get free - and I also found an exploit that if I have free air above me, I could just pop down and essentially be flying. which sadly undermined the puzzle/strategic element of the game as I was just frantically pressing buttons.

but Overall! GREAT JOB. Loved it.

AquaLens by Chlolauro 2024-10-08T12:57:13Z

Very Cozy, soothing game - I enjoyed floating around taking photos - however for me the photos did not seem to save, and the PokeDex/Catalog of creatues did not seem to update - I love the concept, nice work 1

Dungball Domination by tomas88a 2024-10-08T18:52:09Z

Love your take on the theme! - Dung beetle with this sort of game mechanic is a great idea! the hooves stomping and the panic of the animals around you felt awesome! loved it - unfortunately I found the controls to be a bit slugish, which caused me to lose interest - but other than that, great game! great job.

LD57 — Depths

The Void by Iluvatar 2025-04-08T07:54:03Z

Audio Was amazing! Really drew me in - Very Moody, i liked it, great job

Shleep by Rongo Matane 2025-04-10T20:25:49Z

Never before been this engaged by an idle game!

Loved it, such a great take off the theme, the real time cut scenes was hilarious and the sheep was gorgeous to count - Squirtle making them cool was a nice touch! Loved it great job :D

An Angler's Light by Yorsh 2025-04-10T19:53:35Z

Ah I love this concept! such a fun "Stealth" Mechanic, an angler fish is a great fit for the theme - awesome sound effects as well! it was great fun!

Stellarfall by Zomk 2025-04-08T18:02:32Z

LOOOVED This - Such a interesting take on the theme, adding mechanical "Depth" (hehe) to the bullet hell genre by letting you decide your level with increased reward as incentive - however, my greed made me always go down XD

Got completely obsessed with the Split Shot, dodging and weaving and just waiting for the correct timing to get the most value out of that! the audio design made that so satisfying to hit! - the other weapons also felt awesome to use!

Sun(d)less Descend by Foursay 2025-04-08T07:32:58Z

Such a unique game concept, love this mechanic and its on spot for the theme! The Reeling down into this mysterious hole felt so eerie and amazing! Did not get to far because my brain is a bit to burnt from my own jamming to do puzzling XD but I could see myself picking this up again after some rest!

Great job.

Vanity Check by NoNumbersGames 2025-04-08T11:37:37Z

Emotional Depth is a fun take on the Theme, we had some thoughts in that direction but ended up playing with height instead - this was some good fun, main critique no visual healthbar? or maybe there was and my tired brain just missed it XD

Regardless when I died I was in shock as I thought I had not yet been hit, was the hearts dangerous? if so maybe make them more spiky to indicate danger as hearts is typically something you want to go for in games.

Regardless, good work! meeting my therapist gaining pills in this game was much more fun than real life version!

From Oblivion by Norah 2025-04-10T19:41:19Z

Ah I loved this, such a fantastic take on the theme and awesome story telling! HOW THE HELL DO YOU COME UP WITH THIS IN SUCH A SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME! - all the small details that popped up from this woman´s life felt so incredible to discover, and I got chills by the end from realizing the proposal that had happened.

Which made my coma feel so much disheartening, I love the fact that the story is kept open, we can hope she wakes up soon and can jump into the arms of her loved ones, but we dont know. not sure if it was intended, or due to time constraints but I loved it.

Your grey blockout art style with key elements, i Assume was due to time constraints works surprisingly well with the fact that she tries to recollect her memories, and the props that was there, was detailed showing quality over quantity really :D (I tend to end up on the other side in game jams, a bunch of crappy assets to fill out the space)

Great work! One of my favorites I have tried from this jam! and that comes from someone not typically into walking simulator style games, If you where to ever expand on this story and game, id love to see some light puzzle gameplay - kind of life is strange style, which thisreminded me off :D

The Adventures of Wormington by Logan_Core 2025-04-08T18:15:01Z

Awesome game! - It was very cozy gliding around, on the quest to find that key - upgrading your worm was great always having something to work towards and the fact that getting hit did not feel to punishing made for a fun experience, awesome take on the theme!

Wobble Down by MartenJ 2025-04-08T18:40:23Z

Well you captured the wobblyness of me going on a walk perfectly! Great job.

Such a cozy game, loved the sound and wispy windy VFX.

Flushed away by IDos 2025-04-08T17:49:49Z

Loving this cute little fish! and jumping and swimming around overall felt really satisfying! aaand the Plop Sound!!! ah so nice!

First game! Great job - I personally would like to have kept some control while in the air, as it to me got quite frustrating not being able to attempt to correct my jump after the initial jump action! - altough this is subjective!
