Omg, It's challenging ! But it's infuriating and addictive!
This is a great concept for a game jam, almost QWOP-like.
The only issue I have is that there is no reason to be as accurate as you can be, because accuracy isn't required to advance to the next stage.
If you want to develop the game more, you could give each stage accuracy goals or time limits. Another fun feature would be to track your collateral damage as a dollar amount.
I really like how you took a generica gme idea and turned it into your own niche good job.

This reminded me of some classic flash games I used to play on Mousebreaker! Great job- the art is beautiful and the game mechanics are nicely polished :)
Most of the games are using grid to show limited space, but this game wisely avoid using a grid. Good job, I expect for further games with cool ideas.

For the car damage thing, the way we thought the game wasn't really about parking the car nicely, but more about "every spot needs to be filled at every cost". As such, a damage meter didn't really make sense. Moreover, it would have felt weird on the levels where you have to push the cars !

This is one of the games that reminds me that it would be considered a felony to even consider giving me a drivers license. I just expected it to be a game where you try to park cars in the correct place, no more, no less. Instead, this game becomes a puzzle game, where you figure out where you should place each car, and at the same time, you have to be careful not to misplace the other cars. The art is really good, the extra detail to the environment around the parking space is a really nice touch, same with the animals. The particles add nice polish, and the car variants create, well... variation. This game is really good and was well made, and it is clear that a lot of work was put into it!

Impressive game with plenty of polish but also great gameplay. The fact that there is no real loss-state together with the chill music made it easy to take your time to park. Atleast until the frustrating go-cart levels. Great work!
YES! Anyone who's ever had to park for the first time would love this game. As someone who likes parking the least when it comes to driving, I had a good time playing it. The theme fits really well, the controls are reliable, my favorite bit is when the cars honk their horn when you drive into them. Great stuff overall, it's made out of complete awesomesauce

Cool idea - best use of the theme ive seen so far (slight disclaimer: ive played 5 games til now). And all the little details are cute. The leaves, the smoke, the bird - all really charming.
Nice! Stopped going for accuracy and actually accidentally skipped few levels fumbling around in search if there was a restart button.

Spoilers, there was and looks like it even was told in game. Really would have wanted one but couldn't find it (or see the tip on my first go through). I'm pretty sure I tried hitting R for "retry" several different times, didn't occur to me that it was the neighbouring T for "try again".
Tried to go for another run aiming for 100% but got annoyed at first cars randomly sliding off the marker without anything touching them while parking other cars. It takes just way too long for the car inertia to die down and settle in place and it's not fun waiting extra 10 seconds per car to ensure they will not leave the spot before changing. And sometimes the judge is just being an asshole and not giving me 100% even though there wasn't a spec of green to be seen underneath.
But on the other hand, sometimes you can even see green and get a 100%... ๐คทโโ๏ธ

The further you got, the more like ass the cars started controlling. Especially the monster truck which felt like it was glued to the ground and sticked way too much to walls and those tiny dumb things that were borderline uncontrollable. Wasn't really fun, just frustrating.
And even the best behaving starter car as some control issues. It feels kinda inconsistent how throttling works. Sometimes it does way bigger movements with similar keypress and when backing even few extra pixels can waste a complete try, it doesn't feel great. Dunno how to explain it better, just feels weird. Are you applying forces in update without using delta by chance?
The pixel art looked great with nice little animations and effects! All those decorations and animals brought the game world alive and made it feel less boring and static. Sounds and music were great too, fit the feel of the game perfectly! The green spot marker looked very out of place with it being higher pixel density and way off palette compared to anything else. Oh and the monster truck tires are just objectively too light color! ๐ I didn't even register them as tires on first encounter and just thought they were some marks on the road.

@antti-haavikko Thanks for your detailed feedback ! I'm sorry you found some parts frustrating, it was the most difficult part to balance out. The game felt either way too easy, or too precise during most of developpment, so we ended up with a version with a little bit more leniency, which makes it for the bit clunkier controls. Of course i admit that in the end the controls are clunky to try to 100%, and we ran out of time at the end for the small cars, i would have loved to find an elegant way to implement them, but had to settle on a compromise. In the end I still thank you for trying out our game. We are still pretty new in game developpement and events like this really are useful for improving and to keep motivation !
We almost made a parking game, and this is a really cool way to do it. I had fun crashing in into cars and other things. Game became much and much harder over time, I really need to git gud.

Fun game! Love the art and animations. That the cars had square hitboxes locked me in small corridors. Was very apparent in the last level. The steady increase in difficulty was good.

Small pixelart graphics go well with the relaxed music.
Driving is natural. I like some cars are harder to drive than others. Pushing other vehicles was implemented as way to get real score too.
I was thinking if it had some kinda damage score from hitting other cars, that could be shown too. Like how fast you hit some cars, calculate velocity and damage based on that perhaps could work?
all the bits and bobs where implemented and working well: art, music, sound effects, particle effects. screenshake.
had hard time getting the monstertruck moving, but other than that it's excellent!

This is very fun to play; impacts are well implemented and driving physics too! And who would expect that the smallest cars would be the hardest to control? I found those a little frustrating, but nothing that couldn't be managed. And I have to say - the game looks great too, really well done there. And here is my score:

Enjoyed it a lot, at first I thought I just needed to get a passing park, instead of aiming for 100%. Once I figured that out, it became much more challenging. Great job overall!

Cute, Simple, but innovative and fun. It's really fun to crashing cars in parking lot. And the game design is very creative, with various type of cars. But it was a bit difficult to push other uncontrollable cars. Bytheway it's so nice game

Great game, simple but clean art style and responsive controls. The puzzles were very well designed in a way that they give a challenge but aren't frustrating. One of my favorites so far!

Great game!!! It would be even funnier if there's some elements related to the amount of damage caused by reckless parking, in which case I will, without a doubt, top every chart.

I liked the variety of cars and the gameplay changes that came with their specific traits as well as the level design which forced some *interesting* parking choices!
This is so cool! Loved it, and loved the fact that you could just ram into everything and go on to the next level when you didn't like a level that much. Love all the little details like the horns when you bump into cars, and the recap at the end.
I guess the only thing that could feel better are the collisions against walls that are sometimes frustrating and break the "go fast do stupid stuff" vibe. Otherwise this is very solid all around!

Like Micromachines or GTA 1. You had a lot of little detail and fluff in the environment which made the world feel alive. The car handling was also good.

I like your interpretation of the theme! Crashing into other cars while parking yours is really fun and satisfying. I also like how there are different types of cars, like the monster truck and the fast sports car, so you're not parking the same car every time. I found the later levels pretty fun where you had to intentionally shove the other cars in the parking spots.
I think there should be a score requirement before you can move onto the next level. Right now you aren't really incentivized to park well. There are levels where I could not move anything at all and still get a decent score from the already parked cards.
Overall, great game and nice work! I managed to beat all the levels.

Great frenetic game
Really fun game this one! Loved the sound effects and the general handling. One little frustrating bit is that the cars seems to keep their inertia even after hitting a car/wall which makes handling a little weird when trying to pull back. Other that, really nice game!
Super fun! I love how detailed and solid this gameplay is, and I think you could do a lot of interesting things with a full campaign after the jam. Maybe something like working shifts as a valet earning tips for your speed and accuracy, and also maybe a queue of customers waiting for their specific cars so you need to go retrieve the parked cars and deliver them before the customer gets angry. Very well done for a jam - you guys are amazing!

Nice job making a pun out of the theme. The game looks good and the honking sound effects and engine revving so loudly during simple parking really ties together the humor. It's simple and plays pretty well too. The polish is great for a jam game too. You did a good job with the level design too. It eases you into the puzzles and making it score focused keeps the player from getting stuck.

This is easily a game that has angered me the most during this jam, I just don't know how to get those cars behaving. Even though I mostly gave up in the end and just went through the levels :D Level design is interesting, I like how you put more and more different cars in the game. Art is really lovely. A top tier parking game

Really good game! This was impressive. The idea is brilliant and excellent execution. Controls feel very smooth and intuitive. The only minor annoyance was how when reversing direction, you have to be careful to start pressing forward/back Before any direction, otherwise you'd still turn a bit in the old direction. I enjoyed playing but didn't get to the end, as it all started feeling a bit repetitive. I'm not sure how others see this, but I personally feel like if a game is too long / has too much content, it detracts from the experience. I *want* to see the ending, but at some point it can turn into a bit of a grind. So maybe instead of too much content, one could maybe focus on improving other aspects of the game instead. But again, that's just my personal thoughts.
Hey @nyxkn, thanks for your feedback ! It is always hard to balance how much content to add for a jam game, and I agree that level 9 and 11 should have been removed. Also, I wanted everybody to be able to see all the levels, so i didn't add any minimum percentage requirements. There are 13 levels overall, also this could have been mentioned somewhere in the game itself. This is definitely something I will improve on in a future jam!
Great game! It reserves very funny moments, like when you are quite near to a good parking and suddenly you click the wrong arrow and destroy everything ahaha :)
Fun game. Does not teach responsible parking though :D. I liked the mood with the cute graphics & sfx. Could be a little harder though since now you can just go to the next level no matter your score!

A very excellent game you made. wow! Thank you. I enjoyed playing it alot. From the moment i started, it was outright fun and pleasing to look at and to listen to. The pixel art, the motor sound effect, the handling(!!). And i want to tell you, that you really nailed the theme by using a very relatable situation from everyday life and turning it into a fun game where you end up parking in ways you never do afk. :-) I like especially how the really fast cars with their handling, or the slow bus really surprised me in a satisfying way, adding to the puzzle/dexterity aspect of your game. And i like your level design/progression much. I judge it to be really well done, motivating me to play one more level and being challenged by new corners, new tactics, new cars. Also fun: And here's praise for the art again: The details next to the streets. It was nice to find recurring characters in each level and especially the rustling leaves whenever you drive over them. This is such a very cool idea for making the game world vivid! :heart:

Amazing game. Looks, sound, controls, all on point. Level 11 drove me crazy. I had some problems figuring out which cars I could recklessly move out of the way and which ones were counted in the score, I guess you can't tell until you move them and see the green spot underneath, can you? Loved the gameplay here, super fun to bonk around with the cars, getting a feel for the different car types, figuring out the different puzzles. All came together extremely well! Art style fit well for this type of game too, all the cars were distinct, plus the little effects when driving over leaves added a lot of character. The parking puns in the titles were fun too, loved those. Great job, very well done!

Genuinely such a fun game!! During the planning stage, we thought a parking game would be hilarious to make, but thought it may be difficult to make it fun, and your game definitely proves that otherwise! I was playing it in a voice call with other people and constantly getting called out for my terrible parking and for my license to be removed LOL.

It is challenging and sometimes you need to think a bit. Initially I thought that hitting other cars or a wall would give a penalty, but I guess that was wrong. What I take away from this game: If you see a free parkin spot -> take it and if you need to rearrange other cars -> they will be fine.

Very fun and polished game. Probably the best game I've played so far this Jam. The little things in the sound and graphics really make it work well.
Fun & Well polished, I would've like the controller controls to make use of the triggers and I wasn't a hugeeee fan of when you had to push the car to get to the spot - I guess I got a bit obsessed with the accuracy which maybe isn't the spirit. I wonder if instead of percentages a grade might take that focus away? I once had all cars covering green and it came back with 99%
The game's performance is mind-blowing, and it's hard to imagine how they managed to create such a complete game in just 3 days. The attention to detail in the game is exquisite, the smoke rising from the vehicles, the effect of driving through leaves, and even the sound of vehicles colliding. Each vehicle has a different driving feel, which is impressive. I believe the developers must have put in a tremendous amount of time and effort into these details, and they did a fantastic job.
I wish parking in real life would be this generous ... :sweat_smile: still fun little game ^^
Fantastic game, but my blood boiled a bit on level 11 :dizzy_face: Controls are great, graphics are perfect, and those mini-cars love to get stuck in 1000-point turns. Here are my scores (doesn't include restarts)

Fantastic game. All the cars felt really different to control and it was fun to play. I was a bit surprised that I was able to pass to the next level even after making a disaster in the parking lot but I guess that is an intentional design choice. Anyways great game!

This game reminds me a lot micro machines on ps1. I find that the little cars "stick" a little too much to the wall but otherwise I enjoyed playing.
Loved all the little graphics touches like the leaf piles moving when you drive over them. The exhaust really helped when I got turned around and couldn't tell whether I needed to go forward or backward.
Music and sound effects fit the game well.

Great game! Really good work on the car movement as well. Liked how the different cars had different speed etc. Did a really good job on mimicking the painfulness of parallel parking with the constant tapping on the arrow keys etc.

Incredibly fun to play and well designed game! Love every single moment of it. Great job with everything, kudos for all the car-related SFX, made the game really pop out.
Best game I've played in LD54 hands down. I'm surprised at how much I enjoyed it, because I played another parking simulator and it was not that engaging. There are a lot of small things you do very well, that come together to create a very fun package. The percentages on the parking with a visual representation, the fact that you can crash into your own parked car messing up your own parking, my personal urge to always park backwards lol, the pixel art, honking, vfx. There is so much polish here its crazy. And my favorite part is that I feel it is just the right amount of frustrating, where it is challenging me to do well but I still feel like I am in control and have the ability to make it.
I liked it quite a lot. The akward controls make the game challanging and fun. I think you found the right balance between very easy controls and too akward that it becomes frustrating. At least for me. Graphically there was a lot gooing on which added to the feeling of limited space.

Great game, I like how there's a mix of action and puzzle challenges; I can only wonder how hard must have been to make the physics work so we can push the cars correctly in some of them. Also I love puns in general, so I appreciate that you used so many that you ran out of them :)

Fun little game! Levels are cute, I like the added animals and details. Nice idea for the theme, I just don't feel like fighting for spaces too much given that I end up parking them all. Overall a nice complete game!
I like how you're tasked with parking the *other* cars by sheer pushing rather than just parking yours by the end lol. Makes the game so much more humorous.

I kinda got tired after those little cars. I don't think they fit the general mechanics you set up. Up until that point it was a very fun _Despicable Me_ experience. The game becoming a puzzle was an unexpected turn.
