Fun concept! Combining monster parts to make your weapons and keep cycling them is funnn.
I like it, i like it all. But this game need co-op/
Really, really enjoyed this one. The visuals are absolutely superb. I love that sort of "80s futurism" style, like a HD Ultima overworld or something like that. Aesthetically the rest was great too. Good sounds, good art.
Game feels nice to play, almost kind of an Isaac-like in a way. I wish the weapons lasted a bit longer!
I wasn't able to beat it even after a few gos, but that's because I am bad at games 😃
Great visuals and audio.
I couldn't aim while using keyboard when my controller was plugged in, so took a while to figure that out, but after that it was nothing but fun! Hard to believe it was made in such a short time.
Dash mechanic feels really great.
I like the music a lot, it fits the style and mood of the game well
Wow, very well polished game! I gave it about 10 tries but still couldn't beat it though, even on easy mode  But the game did make we want to keep coming back to it!
Maybe I'll come back and try again sometime
I really like the crafting, it made the combat really dynamic, and it was especially fun to see what the different mob combinations did. I found the dash to be a little difficult, not sure if I could have changed the resolution/zoom, but it was really easy to dash into something offscreen and take damage. Really fun game aside from that though, great job!
Nice job! Great enemy sprites, love the little skeleton too, and it was always very exciting to make a new weapon combination and see what happened. There were several times I dashed over spikes only to hit an enemy I couldn't have seen beforehand which kinda sucked, and one-life-then-back-to-the-start is *pretty* punishing, but there were even multiple areas with different tilesets and lots of wacky enemies to meet. Thank you also for including controller support so I didn't have to use my terrible track pad.
@catlard Oh huh thank you very much, I almost gave up on this one, and boy I would miss out! Mouse aiming doesn't work if controller is plugged in indeed, but the controller wasn't working for me either. I think it's the best game I played today. The flying eyes are hard to learn to fight melee, but other than that it plays really nice. I love the idea of weapon crafting like this. Whip, my beloved <3 so much ammo an so much range... The health indicator is pretty funny. Speaking of funny - telefragging the wizard summoning you? Lmao Music is a fantastic bop! The graphics and animations are on point (the dash effect feels so nice)! I don't know what else to say, I just like it a lot and I wish there would be a boss fight at the end (I feel like it was planned, wasn't it?)
Very polished, especially considering the time constraints. Pretty fun overall and very charming. The crafting aspect is cool but it could use a bit more depth. Also, the theme could have been a bigger aspect of the game.
I had a lot of fun playing Hotline Miami and this brought me the same type of joy. Crafting is very intuitive and doesn't get in the way. Great job!
Damn this is good. Love the mechanic that you can get a lot of different weapons based on what you decide to craft together. I just wish I wouldnt need to waste items because i can only carry two spare items. They also get used up pretty quickly.
Anyway, crazy amount of content for a gamejam game, nice artstyle where everything goes well together and a lot of potential. One of the best games I've played so far. And you even added a cool intro (I love how he spins when he is sucked into the portal lol)
Wow, it's crazy what you were able to achieve in just 72 hours! This is a solid dungeon crawler roguelike with strong visuals and audio (I really like the Banjo-Kazooie vibe of the music). Combat feels really good, the UI is great (special mention to the health "bar"), crafting is simple and satisfying, everything is top notched and feels very professional.
Just wondering, why is the game requesting internet access? Are you gathering telemetry on player behavior?
In any case this is a very strong entry, good job!
@nazorus Unsure why the default Godot export settings need internet access, we aren't doing any internet stuff and there's probably a toggle for it somewhere in the export settings that I missed. Thanks for the heads up, will make sure to figure that out for future games and of course thanks for playing!
Really a great game, so many details to like, with the only flaw being that it is too easy to die, meaning it requires more effort than what LD crowd usually gives. I noticed the "easy" option that includes healing, but it goes against gamer instincts to choose such dishonorable option, hence it doesn't really help. Just giving players 25% more hitpoints would rectify the situation I believe. Outside of LD this would also be a great game, though with more randomization to compensate for easy dying and make replays more fun.
A great concept ! I love the idea of combining monsters part to make our own weapons. The game overall is polished and very fun to play ! It's amazing to make such a game in such a short time. Good job !
I really dug the graphics in this! Lots of personality. The gameplay is smooth and has some nice strategy and everything just feels good, one of my favorite playing games this jam. I liked the variety of weapons and how later ones usually felt more satisfying.
The theme felt a bit like just window dressing would be the only negative, but this was a great jam entry!
