I love the art :D
As an RPG enthusiast, I appreciate this. It was a cool idea
Amazing art and variety of loot is very impressive! Felt like an oldschool rpg distilled to core components - looting and exploring
I really enjoyed the game. That was a lot of art done in such a short time! It was fun moving around and picking up items. Great job!
Loved the art work, and the range of items and affects that were available to pick up
I am not really a fan of dungeon crawling gameplay, but this one was interesting enough to keep me hooked.
Very nice mixture of mechanics to keep you on your toes!
the merchant on the surface is probably wondering where I've found 6,000 sausages, but a dwarf does what he must to afford upgrades
I just played for like 20 minutes and it was really fun! (: I had to stop playing cause I crossed a river jump obstacle which then had a dynamite obstacle. I didn't have any dynamite, so I was stuck in a loop between the 2 panels. Regardless though it was super fun, would play again!! Also, I thought it was funny how you could make the sausage and some other random items your helmet.
I love this game. Not exactly sure what the gold fever does but I felt like a dwarf so good job
@scottgamer28 Golden fever : "When you start to have a lot of treasures on you, going back to the shop will become increasingly difficulty as you have to fight the Gold Fever every time you want to go up."
basically if you exceed certain value caps in the items you carry, you'll get hit (1 or 2 HP) every time you go up (think Made in Abyss if you know).
Awesome game, good humor, nice graphics and fun.
This game hooked me sooo bad :D I lost track of my time (at least over 40min though). Seems like the greed could not stop my dwarf. Great game!
This was so much fun. I had to tear myself away from it. I think if it just had a save button I'd be playing the heck out of this game. I am not sure if you didn't get to the chest and shorts slots because I never found anything that fit there, so you definitely have room to get this even better. Loved the art, the dark chicken was awesome! I could really see this as a full game.
Thanks y'all for your comments!
@lelulagames There are lots of equipments that fill the short and chest slots actually, it's just pretty random how you get them! Keep grinding and you might get some fun stuff o/
This game might be a little addictive. Had to stop myself cause I know I could have easily spent another hour or so looking for stronger loot. Pretty happy with the runic blade and mythral helmet, and also happy that there was still an enemmy that could be dangerous at that point. Awesome game!
Amazing visuals, I loved being able to pick up and put down gear all the time. I got down to level 11 but could not find anywhere else to go? I'm still surprised by how much you guys did, well done!
Wow, just wow I had to stop playing, the art and sounds are great and the range of things to find and fight was impressive, every time I thought I had experienced it all a new things would drop. I liked the longer runs back with lots of gold to think what I was going to spend it on.
I only noticed the bag upgrade after about 10 trips  so that made it even more fun to buy that. fantastic work would wear salami on my head again
so cool ! i like art and just eat all the salami
@osh-studio Sometimes the generator is not very generous and can behave strangely, just go back to shop and restart again, a brand new dungeon will appear. The virtual end of dungeons is somewhere around Depth 200 but you don't need to go all down to see everything.
There is some "hidden" surprises like the demons that will challenge even a full armored build (search for the Chaos rooms). You probably have to search a bit to find those.
For those who are completionists: there is about 28 different enemies, 22 unique Rooms and 68 different objects.
Thank you all for your kind and positive comments!
I love that everything can be a hat! Very ambitious game, and deftly executed! I didn't notice any hitches or bugs!
Die chicken! Hilarious and well-done at the same time. Gfx and sounds are both great as is the interesting and varied number of objects one can find. Nice job.
Really nice game! Was in the middle of a fight and ate a salami (my only weapon) to not die, with a mushroom on my head  Super fun to play, great job.
Beautiful art, and lovely atmospheric music. I had so much fun exploring the cave that I kept forgetting to go back to the shop. And I drank every magic beer I could get my hands on cuz it seemed like the dwarf thing to do.
Easily one of my favorite games of the jam! I love how you've boiled down the elements of a dungeon crawler into a concise and elegant fight/loot/sell gameplay loop. Even within such a tight concept, you've managed to add a lot of variety here, and I had that "just one more run" urge the whole time. Your art style, UI design, and gameplay is fantastic and I'm hoping everyone gets a chance to try this one!
this was very cool, lots of fun mechanics
salami is my favorite helmet
Really fun game! I like the art and the gameplay is smooth! Well done!
Amazing game, great concept and it is an incredibly impressive feat to complete such a game during a game jam. Ended up playing a few runs, coming back with an upgrade to some gear slot after basically every run. This was a lot of fun and I could certainly see this as a full game with a bit more polish! One tiny remark, I think the mimic has a wrong name assigned to it, as the attack button shows "Troll" when hovering it :) Also, a feature I would have loved to have is an inspection window to be able to check the stats of the enemies. With some trial and error, I was able to figure out some resistances of the enemies, but it would be cool if this were an additonal option which could also be chance-based on a stat or something :) Anyways, it was a great experience and I think it is my favourite game of the jam so far!
@philocode The mimic have a bugged name yes, there is few mistakes like that here and here. Enemy resistance was to be shown, but was not included for time reasons. We're currently considering creating a fully-fledged game depending on the reception and the spotlight earned from this jam!
Holy shit, are those microtonal sounds? Or is it just detuned and I'm crazy? ^^ I like the soundtrack so much I'm distracted from gameplay  I don't know if that's good or bad xD Ok, I focused and got absolutely absorbed by the game. Spent a lot of time in it and at one point realized there is nothing new waiting for me and I'm unstoppable. And then I've found the demon prince and got completely destroyed. 10/10 Congrats on your jam!
I spent several minutes playing and enjoyed it even though I'm not a fan of the genre. Congratulation for the music. It suits the mood.
so i played this game for like 3 hours or so. has to be my favorite game this ludumdare. for a while there the game got super easy, i was one shotting enemys and taking like no damage. and just when the game started getting repetitive and boring i met the level with the demon princes, i killed 1 of them, used up all my food, then on the next screen fought another one, almost had em, but had no food and he had the last hit. so the one thing that i missed the most from this game was some kind of map. i got lost all the time, and just randomly moved around till i found the surface again. that part didnt feel fun to do. but the rest was really fun.
@jcmonkey Some kind of zoom out was planned but didn't made the cut due to time constraints :). It will probably be in the full version if we decide to continue the game.
I can see this game as a full game, with its quirk humor (like use a sausage as a helmet that works) and neat roguelike rpg execution
I'm impressed that you guys made such a game in only three days - congrats!
Neat fully-functional game with cool art and sounds. Exploration seemed a little random, but that goes with the genre. I loved using a salami as a weapon.
got stuck behind a obstacle, but had a lot of fun. It's a great game. Congrats!
You guys have a great gameplay loop here! I got too big for my britches (literally, they were full of loot) and was swiftly destroyed by a demon lady after I ventured too far, but I was ready to start up another run afterwards!
Nice work. If only I had a Scroll of Town Portal ;)
Very good idea! You might end up with a great project!
great.. we originally wanted to make a similar game but then we started a completely different game.
I was killed by the demon prince at the end. the funny thing was that I already had enough wealth and I told myself that one more diamond and then I would run away. greed was fatal to me. :id: great entry
I thought the graphics were really cool and the sound was also good. Interesting mechanics, although I think it's a little unbalanced at the beginning and it's difficult to defeat the bigger enemies. I think it's a game that would require more time to be enjoyed, more calmly, perhaps dying several times. I think this game has potential, but perhaps it needs to be balanced in gameplay. The inventory is cool, but there are things that can be used to attack and eat at the same time, perhaps a little confusing. But for a jam it's so good and a lot of content for a short jam time, it's a very good entry.
The full game is on Steam!
