I really liked it! But yeah if you plan on working further on this game, it would be cool to see some weird subplot or goals, or something like that.

I really liked it! But yeah if you plan on working further on this game, it would be cool to see some weird subplot or goals, or something like that.
Interesting mechanic, but jeez those customers. You don't bring them 1 pill and they already hate you
Impessive for 1,5 hours. Got me laughing too :D
Movement feels smooth, I like it. Otherwise, some health indicator would be nice. And if mouse is used anyway, why not bind shooting to it too, instead of space bar.
Wow, great game, especially for the 48 hours. Atmospheric and visually pleasing too.
When I finally found the marble I was kinda happy but kinda not because the ending screen was not really promising :D
Gameplay is nice, I like that it's fast paced. Text screens at the start were too fast to read tho (at least for me). Monsters can be walked around - is that intentional? I feel that if they weren't, the game would be much harder, so it is probably intentional. Also would be nice to see character's position on the mini map.
Graphics and sound are great, really bring the atmosphere (of devil's insides).
Nice music and art tho.
When there is 2 animals on one spot, when I click it, I get the bottom animal, not the top one (that can be annoying).
Nice game, I like the story so far, and the sandstorm mechanic. I wish there were more details to the world tho, like rocks laying around or the light posts along the road. The sound would really help too, at least for the shooting.
Dunno what the heck was that, but I enjoyed it :D
UI needs some work, maybe buttons highlight when user mouses over them. When I entered a name to submit score, clicking "save score" didn't do anything. Other than that, good job.
I watched this game being played on stream and its really fun. I like the ship building mechanics.
I like simple graphics the game has. Movement sometimes is too fast, making it not an easy task to board on the ship. As for the energy, I didn't feel like there was any need to keep it at level: I happily sprayed the enemies without any energy while standing in one place. Overall the game has potential, it just needs some polish.
Great game! I like the cutscenes and the overall story. Although once I got ahold of controls, game started to seem extra easy.
Unplayable for me for some reason: the game keeps hanging on screen changes (first after the comic, then after the companion selection).
(and why does the unpacked game weigh almost 4 gb?)
Really nice game! Interesting mechanics, would be cool to see some more complex levels to be solved using those. Music is fitting and simple. Animations on the main character are great too.
On the other note, I don't think there was any need to make 2 separate buttons for charge/discharge (but maybe that could be used on the later levels).
And I didn't know what to do at this point:
111.png
The ledge is too high to jump and there is not much else to do there (maybe I was missing something, but if I was, some clarification in-game for new players would help).
Nice little game, I like its retro style. Although I got overwhelmed by arrows on the 3rd wave already, so they might need tweaking (or maybe it's just me).
You probably should set your link to "public" so we can download it.
Tutorial AND a pause button are both really nice additions. Gameplay is interesting, I think it would be cool to add some sort of upgrades to it. Or like if the happy face is there for long, then the power depletes slower from the buildings. Also the tutorial said that during the blackout you can't add energy to the building until it's fixed, but I think I still could do that.
Nice spooky game. I like the main character art and sound effects. Sometimes I get stuck on the walls or corners, something with collisions ain't right.
Nice game with some weird aesthetic :D I like that it has a really big level where you can get lost, but I didn't really get what was my goal there. Some sort of ending would be great, like maybe kill some boss-guy.
Music got repetitive after a bit. I didn't really get what was the point of pick-ups aside of the score, as the energy replenishes by itself. You could try making it unreplenishable, same as health.
All in all, good job!
When I try to launch your game, I get an error: "The registry refers to a non-existent Java Runtime Environment installation or the runtime is corrupted." Hope this helps.
Great game, feels really finished even if it's only 2/5 of what you wanted to make.
Gameplay gives me flashbacks to south park's minigames D: (I'm not sure if it's a good or a bad thing).
On the other note, music track stopped after some time (I assume you didn't make it loopable or something). And it would help to get some clarification on each stat (readme file only explains endurance).
(and just in case you didn't know, if you want more people to see and rate your game, you should play and rate other people's games, as it will increase your score and give you more chance to be seen through search)
Nice game, I like the upgrades and overall mechanics. But I'm not sure if there were supposed to be any other enemies besides the initial two, I wish there were more. It took me some time to figure out the gun-shield switch thing and that to use a shield I need an upgrade. On the graphics note, if you make pixel art game, it is generally advised to use pixels of the same size, as this improves the overall looks.
Gameplay is nice, enjoyed that part. Graphics are ok, but the screen looked jaggy when moving escpecially when I moved my mouse up and down. Music is cool but sound effects are annoying sometimes (like that lasting high pitch sound when a green box is near you).
It would help the game if you included some story too and the connection with theme as it is not quite obvious. Otherwise good job!
There should be some way to restart the game (button press or auto restart after "you lost" screen), and the gaps should be somewhat distinguishable (they look just as shadows from walls). Other than that the game was probably not really finished, but you probably did your best, so good job anyway!
Nice little story, I wish there was more to it, like some subplot or the viruses Mary mentioned.
Interesting game, pity you didn't finish it. I like the graphics part, but camera motion is really weird, seems cool at first but gets boring as the time goes on.
The idea is fun! And even if you didn't put there everything you planned, the gameplay seems pretty exciting too. I liked how the reactions changed when the mood was decreasing (or was it because of the amount of followers? hmmm).
I like the art! Gameplay is nice. It would be better if there was some music tho. From what I experienced, the feline rage meter doesn't really go much high even if I start to spam. Although I can't even start to spam, because those critters reeeally like to jump on the roomba.
If you stand on the very left side of the screen, you can just spam the enemy and jump in one place. It's harder to do it tho when there are 2 of them at the same time. Overall, cool game! Graphics are nice.
This is fun! Hard to beat the highscores tho :D
Nice game, had it running with no troubles! I like that there is voice acting, that's something rare for an LD game. Gameplay seems lacking though, I wish there was something else to do besides just issuing inmates where to go :D
I enjoyed playing it, but didn't really get the Q-D and W-D controls, they didn't seem to do anything for me. Also the boss wasn't going away even if I spammed S. This was all in the web version.
I wish there was some outcome after all the judgement! Like maybe a couple of different endings depending on your choices. That aside, nice job.
I've built all the snowmen, aiming exactly at the kids would have been harder I suppose. The atmosphere of the game is great, music, even though repetitive, fits really well.
Oh noo it's the flat earthers...
The idea is cool, the graphics are nice too. The thing that bugged me were the controls. They are really weird, and it's actually hard to get to the stuff that you need to collect even on before the first one.
That's a lot of comments xD For me, it got easier once I figured out I can stomp the boxes not only after jumping on them from below, but from the top too. Oh and that taping sound gave me the creeps lol
Wow that's an impressive game! I'm being honest, I clicked because of the cute pixel art, but stayed for the game for sure :D Music is relaxing too. I didn't get how to craft things there tho: you put them in the slots and then what? That's the part that could use some pointers.
Wish there was some audio, it would make the game a bit easier to go! The collisions are weird, and I had hard times figuring out how to not bump int leg on the 8th mouse. Other than that, nice job!
I really like the gameplay! The whole "use your attack an wait until it reloads" is kinda unique I think. Although I don't think the camera movement fits the game (I mean when it goes up and down a bit, creating the 3d effect).
So I guess the gameplay is just clicking on the red (bad?) comments to delete them so they don't go into the world. It would help if those were somewhat actual comments, like people saying something instead of what was there. Nice touch with the audio slowing down near the end tho. Overall, it's a nice idea for a game, you should polish it for sure!
This is great! I got 6 cats the first time and 11 - the second.
Seen you on the ld discord with all those ads and wanted to play your game because of them :D The gameplay is fun, finally I can play a game while watching a youtube video! Haha.. ha. Also the guy at the start is weird, and I don't think it would make a big difference if he wasn't there or if it was just a text at the start explaining what's going on.
I get an error "There should be 'Dontcollectcoins_Data' folder next to the executable". (I think, you should include the whole folder and not just the executable)
The aspect of beating up enemies to restore energy and build upgrades is always simple yet fun to play.
The game could use some music tho. Otherwise my eyes hurt a little bit from some of the scenes :D Gj.
Sounds fun, but I didn't get what controls there are besides the movement? How do I carry and throw garbage? :D Music is great tho.
I laughed at the story :D Gameplay is fun, although there are some bugs. Like when you get a certain amount of people on you, you stop moving completely. It's nice that you took some time to make the intro too.
Really interesting gameplay! I didn't have any issues with sound on web version.
I enjoyed playing this game, and the art style, while being simple, fits the game really well. On the other note, the sound of killing a creature was too loud, and the bars where kinda hard to see.
This game is great! Animations felt smooth, and the gameplay was fun. I hope you will continue to work on this game.
This game is fun, but too hard, just like real life D:
I seemed to get the most likes from edgelord, yeah I like keeping pooping dogs in the background.. Fun game! As was already said, it could have potential if developed further.
This is a really entertaining game! Art is nice and music seems to fit.
I actually really liked this game! Reminds me of Slay the spire and Guild of dungeoneering. The gameplay is fun and engaging, and the devil gave me some giggles. The downside is that there is a lot of things that aren't explained, but that's probably because of the lack of time.
It's a really enjoyable game, I like the atmosphere you created and the theme approach. I discovered two out of three endings only.
You should include the whole folder with your game (the folder that has CrashHandler, UnityPlayer.dll and _Data inside) and put it in a zip.
It wasn't always clear what every person wants and is willing to give. Overall, the idea is fun, keep it up.
Really cute art style, and the gameplay is fun. But for me there were too many tutorial levels.
Really well-made game! I like the art style, it helps to bring out the feel of despair the story has. I think I got to 3 endings out of 5.
I really like the gameplay, how it gets harder to manage all the slaves at once as you get more of those. I wish there was an option to free them (with some penalties) instead of just killing them :D
I liked the game, it has really nice art style and idea behind it. If it was more polished gameplay-wise, I could sink a lot of time into it :D
Cool game, it's actually impressive that you have your own game engine. I like the gameplay and use of theme, but for my taste enemies were too hard to kill (had too much hp).
I enjoyed this game, and it didn't really feel like it was your second game this jam! The gameplay is fun, and I hope you'll continue developing it.
I liked the music and the feature with buying weapons with life. But it felt like it was too hard to see where I was shooting.
It's a really nice game! I like the graphics and challenging gameplay. Although sometimes it felt like it was too hard, especially with the shooting guys. And the font was kinda hard to read, but maybe it's just me.
I like the main character design, and the idea about buying weapons with life. However, the gameplay felt kinda slow, and I found myself using mainly range weapon, as there wasn't really a point to use melee.
A really nice gameplay idea! I like how at first this looks like an ordinary top-down shooter, but then slowly becomes a puzzle game.
I didn't really get what was the end goal in the game, besides staying alive. The art is funny, I liked it :D
It's a really fun game! I survived for about 8 minutes and then suicided with coffee. I like that it's actually impossible to fulfill ALL the tasks. I wonder why is the interactable emergency exit there, but maybe that would come up later in the game.
The game seems fun, but the really long intro bugged me, especially when I died and had to restart. The voice-overs are really well-made tho, and the art style is goofy in a good way.
I enjoyed playing it, but it seems like it got really difficult really fast. The flowers are bit hard click too, bc they are small and moving. I loved the simplicity in the art style and music, it brought out a bit of the console feel.
I enjoyed playing the game, it really felt like a finished product. I liked the characters, art style, and music was fitting. Also it was impressive that the levels were randomly generated (or it seemed like that). That made it a bit harder to find the generators though, the levels seemed like a maze (I ended up using a maze-strat - following one wall until I find what I'm looking for lol). And the darkness made it a lot harder bc the enemies are able to one-shot you from the dark, so I had to fire the gun randomly while walking through darkness, but it was ok overall.
Also, I can't believe this grandma would do something like that
I enjoyed playing it! I wish there were more enemies but with less health.
Nice meditative gameplay and atmosphere. I wish there was something else to do beside chopping wood and eating shrooms, but still it was very fun. Reminds me of minecraft with its calming music and sounds.
I understand that to solve a puzzle you need to pull the parts in the right order, but there are too many to choose from in just one minute. Maybe there was a prompt at some point about what the order should be, but I didn't get it. Overall, nice atmosphere, and the choice of sounds is good.
It's a nice entry, certainly worth the time to play! You got a fun idea and managed to turn it into something playable, and that is already a good thing. Also, when the music stops, you can't shoot anymore, and the asteroids start roaming freely, and the earth is destroyed. I don't think that was intentional, but it makes sense - if you hold left mouse button down, the shooting becomes synced with the beats, so that means you are fueled by the party, and when the party is over, you are no more too.. I'm probably overthinking it.
I enjoyed playing it, and gave it a few tries at creating a speech! I was actually trying to create something not that motivational but creepy and a bit downplaying, and this is the best I got: Suddenly This feels ethereal . The world holds onto different resolution . You hardly advance motivation , Forever It lasts easily ,after all.
The music is really good too (I used the cool one), and I like how it changes when you get the result.
A really short game, but it's got its charm. I like the surroundings and the alien is cute. That guy makes me worried tho: if he merrily strolls into the lasers, how is he able to pilot a ship? Will he get home safely? Some questions aren't meant to be answered..
I enjoyed playing this game. The voice-overs are funny and the art is nice too. The gameplay was fun, but it was a bit hard when the computer restarted and suddenly all the patient's needs were down and it was almost instant game over.
Both dropbox links and itch.io link don't work, unfortunately
I enjoyed playing this game! It's got quite an addictive core loop, and I could see myself playing it for hours if there were more things to do or encounter. At first everything seemed confusing, since there is pretty much no tutorial, but eventually all became clear, and I survived 9 feedings. The simplistic art style work really well too.
It's a fun game! The art style is nice, and the speed-farming gameplay seems unique. For me, it was hard to put seeds on the fields, bc sometimes for some reason I was just wasn't able to.
My fire burned down and there was left only a tiny part on an open empty field of burned trees. So I had to bring logs to make this fire "travel" from the field to the woods again, AND THEN this firefighter comes near this tiny travelling fire, looks at it and poof it's gone, and the game is over. Fun game tho, but kind of hard. I like the choice of music, it makes the whole thing a bit more ridiculous in a good way.
A really fun idea about painting the bleak battlefield with colors while shooting. Certainly more entertaining than painting it with only blood! It's nice that there are online scores too, but I didn't get to a high one. I wish the enemies would bring some more destruction to the colors - like, painting it black or something like that.
I enjoyed playing it. Audio design is really good. I noticed that it was really helpful to hear where the threat is coming from. Gameplay got repetitive after a while, but at the start it was really fun to play. My game got stuck after about 69 mil subs (what a number to be stuck on), unfortunately. Overall, a unique and engaging gameplay idea with nice graphics and sound!
Fun game to play, and the difficulty was on point - not too much and still not that easy. The art style and king's responses were hilarious.
It's a fun game! But it was a bit hard to keep his happiness level high, so I ended up just feeding him the smoothies, until the food level dropped really low after the last smoothie. I survived for 4 days! Also, isn't it weird how you are giving a name to your friend's pet?
I enjoyed playing it. I don't really agree with the others about the progress being slow - it is slow at the start, but towards the end there is a repair needed almost every second, but since the constant money flow it is not a problem. And I personally didn't use purge at all - only once near the end, because having a hacked server prevented me from getting a win. It is also good that you took time to make a nice tutorial - most of the jam games (my own included) lack that and it makes them harder to grasp. Overall, a very solid entry with engaging gameplay and a potential for turning it into a bigger game.
I enjoyed playing it. At first playthrough I managed to get her sad, but on the second she stayed hopeful, and cooked a cake (I noticed that the result of the activity changed too!). Font was a bit hard to read through, but overall art and feel is amazing, I hope you will keep working on it.
Interesting gameplay idea about combining various environment elements. Although I didn't really understand if I could combine these parts into more bodies, so when I fed all the nearby corpses to the heart it was over. Graphics really bring out the creepy atmosphere!
Nice meditative gameplay. Traps seemed OP since enemies couldn't pass through them and couldn't damage them like walls. Overall difficulty seemed a bit low too - I almost never used my primary fire, traps and turrets did all the work. Otherwise a really solid game with cute graphics and engaging gameplay!
Nice idea and fun to play. It was a bit hard after I failed a question and the batteries started draining really fast, and the money weren't coming fast enough to buy a new phone or a better battery.
I like the graphics and the music. As some of the other people, I couldn't handle those jumps after the 3rd checkpoint. After numerous tries I could get to some of these platforms, but there were more, so I gave up. And that is unfortunate, because the story line seems interesting, and I wanted to get to the end.
This is just like a WoW raid but with on-screen prompts! But seriously, this is a fun idea. It would help if it was more music-based (as in, buttons are timed with music) and maybe if it didn't show you clicking buttons but clicking spells instead.
I like the gameplay, and the art is nice. The first stage was relatively easy, but the second was kinda hard because of the speedy pink blobs and the shooting blobs. Also it felt like the bombs were kinda useless - they had small range, and the enemies were all moving too fast.
Nice little story about ghosting and atoning to your mistakes. I wish the text for what was going on was a bit bigger. Also I didn't get what the "water" does since there was no feedback unlike with food. The stop motion art style you chose to use really complements the theme.
Good job on your first entry! It would help if the projectiles that the main character is shooting were bigger, and there was some way to tell where the goblins are coming from.
Also, if I try to go into the king's castle, it's the instant game over. Am I the goblin too? :anguished:
The second stage was a bit hard for me, I couldn't figure out which ones I need to disable to pass. But overall it's a really fun and unique gameplay idea, as the other people have already pointed out. Don't be so hard on yourself. Think of all the people that didn't make a game in 72 hours even if they tried, and you are already a step ahead of them.
I like the gameplay, but it was hard for me to go after the moving bridge. Either I didn't understand how the stop signs work, or it was buggy, but I managed to move only one giraffe across the bridge, and then he kind of stopped following the path. Either way, it was fun, and the music is fitting.
Really creepy atmosphere and interesting gameplay idea! I didn't really get what was the point of ghosts and what does the MH bar mean. Otherwise, I hope you'll work on this game outside of LD to grow it into a larger scale project - there is certainly a potential.
Really addictive and fun to play! Although I wish the ball would just float around without the gravity, or at least the jumping would be slower, so it was easier to mine stuff that is directly above.
I got to the end, and it was really fun! I enjoyed the voice acting and sound effects.
@klaaswag @blobo @irwatts thanks for telling me about this problem! I'm not really sure why this is happening though. I looked at the exe I have on my computer of the game - and it does get flagged by windows defender, so itch io is not the problem. I'll try re-compiling the project and seeing if it gets fixed. But I'm sorry, it was not my intention for it to be a virus, and would understand if you don't want to play it, thanks for checking it out anyway!
@klaaswag @blobo @irwatts I've added a zip file with the game (it's in the downloads section) and I think it fixes the issue. It's a problem with how gamemaker packs its exes most likely. At least, I checked with virustotal the zip file and it was fine. If you still want to give the game a try, please tell me if it works!
this is a really good jam game! I enjoyed the world you've built and how it changes colors sometimes. Although sometimes I really wanted to be able to turn the camera around or just get a different angle, because I wasn't able to see some things (maybe that was intentional), and I didn't understand what was the purpose of some things - like the stone cube and the panels on the floor (but maybe those were traps too).
Seems like a really creative game! The controls are a bit hard to grasp at first (as in, which direction will your character go), but overall was fun to play. Art is really good too, and the music is somehow weird, but fitting.
The enemies were a bit hard to avoid. It seemed like once they are onto you, you can't really escape. Overall, really interesting idea for a game.
I like that there is an intro where it is explained what you can do. It was hard for me to get how to correctly grab-move, because it seemed like sometimes the arm would go one way and then - the other. Overall, it is a very fun experience!
Really interesting idea for a game, and the sounds are very soothing and nice. However, some collisions were a bit annoying - like getting squashed by the things coming from the ceiling while standing really close to them.
Really fun concept for a puzzle game. I wish the clickable dots were a bit bigger so it would be easier to interact with them.
Hey, I won :D For me the biggest challenge was to simply jump over the sushi at the right time. Among the puzzles the most distracting one was with the lights off, that's where you really need to solve it asap, but the other ones weren't really that occupying. Anyways, the game's great, nice work!
I like the concept! Seems like there is not much to do there tho. I enjoy this feature about leaving messages that others can read (if that is what it is). And here is hope you'll work some more on the post-ld version of the game, it has great potential!
Seems like an interesting idea (as I see it: drawing sim but with time limit and competitive side?). I guess the game wasn't really finished due to the lack of time or something, because all you do there is just paint. There is a score at the end, but I don't really understand how is it working (or if it's working at all). So the solid scoring system would be nice.
There is a bug too: the paper on the canvas (probably) should be white, but it is black, and the cursor leaves a trail on it even if you are not painting. At least that was what I had in the web version.
Otherwise, good job!
For me the screen was cut at the top and at the bottom, so I couldn't see the status window. Nice game tho, would be great to see what it evolves to after some post-ld work.
What an addicting game! I have a question tho: why did it have to be an unwinged bird? There are a lot of birds that just don't fly like penguins or something
