Nice work! Best I've played so far this Ludum Dare. Great artwork both in the foreground and the background. Music was subtle, excellent, and fit really well with the art style and the general spirit of the game. I also like the randomly generated levels - I used those in my game too, and I can definitely appreciate the work it takes to make that random generation work out.
Things to improve:
- Controls and movement were a bit strange - jumping seemed to sometimes go very far, sometimes not very far. Likewise the ball would sometimes go very fast, sometimes very slow.
- A bit of story in the game post may make it fit better with the theme. I get that turning lights on relates to power but maybe a brief bit of story would connect it more thematically.
Wow, this is great game. The graphics and the music fitted the atmosphere really well. One thing I did find a little odd was how easy the game is. I didn't found anyway to die or whatsoever. Bumping into a wall just stops you without any real consequences. The background music could be a little louder, because I only noticed it after three minutes of playing. But overall, great entry.

I really like these one key controls, but some of the physics were not vere intuitive, for example when you hit a wall you are stopped but when you jump over your previous speed is almost automatically restored. Very good overall, also I think the music really fitted the art

Nice little game ! The concept is interesting, and the graphics are pretty (especially the background). The music emphasizes the feeling of loneliness. Good job !

Good game! Once you understand controls, you're good to go :)
Maybe some indication of remaining time for power-ups would be nice.

Really atmospheric game! I was really catching the ghost towny vibe whilst playing! There's a couple of small things that aren't quite there yet though.
The speed power up was fun to use, but only when you could use it after you got it. A lot of the time I'd get a speed boost and then run into a wall right after because there were steps or awkardly placed jumps. Also, after trying to speed through most of the game, I sped past the man at the end without being able to read his text before falling off the level! Maybe you could have moved him in a little from the edge.
Aside from that, nice game! Really liked the scrolling buildings!
Nice game! The gameplay is addictive and the mood is really good. One improvement I can think of is that the gravity increases when you hold space so you can time your landing better. Still, its a really nice game.

I don't think there is any real purpose in wanting the player to maintain space. In fact, since there is no reason for him to not hold space, cause it only make him stop, I ended up holding it constantly, releasing it quickly only to jump. Resulting in a normal runner with "reverse" controls (release a button to jump instead of pushing it).
The music and background are nice and very atmospheric, but doesn't really match the genre in my opinion.
Was a little sleep inducing with the dreamy ambient BGM. The running/platforming didn't feel very smooth. Very nice background parallax effect.

Hello there... I hope your participation at LD was satisfactory...
You need to put something else... something like and game objetive... or an "die" event... I don't like the space jump/run button... I thought better is an automaticed movement system... well It's an simple game :D
PD: when I saw the boy... I fell out of screen ;-; I couldn't imagine that I will fell out of screen :v Idk if it's an "victory" or "defeat" XD
Here is my entry: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/39/runoutofenergy-the-game rating me please! :D

Cool entry! The art and sound complement each other nicely, creating a moody ambiance, but I felt kinda lost because I didn't know what was my objective and couldn't die either. I don't see a clear connection with the theme too. After some minutes, I got bored because nothing different was happening, so I quitted.
As others have said, the art and sound create an awesome atmosphere. I'm not quite sure the gameplay matches up with it, perhaps that could be where you target changes.
The gameplay had me going into 'Wipeout' mode, wanting the music to go faster as I sped up. But with the music I felt like I wanted to explore alien worlds, and panic over the meaning of my existence. However, with a bit of physics tweaking it could be very addictive and fun.
Good job

Interesting gameplay to hold a key down and release him to jump. But I missed in your game a kind of obstacles or any feeling of surprise or reward. :o And I think (like many others) that the music and art style fits together very well because it gives you that moody ambiance which is great vor your slow gameplay. :)

Controls felt strange to use — I feel like it would've been better with a simplistic 'tap space to jump' system as opposed to what it had, as I'd get split second stops randomly. Also, dashes from cones would stop sometimes when I expected them to have been refreshed by a cone near the end of the duration.
Decent entry, but I couldn't find the tie to the theme and the gameplay was quite repetitive after a bit.
