LD46 — Keep it alive

The Olympic Flame: 2420 by Local Minimum 2020-04-25T11:09:16Z

This game is brilliant haha, I love the humour and the gameplay is good fun, albeit challenging! My main critique is that the it's difficult placing cards as they all move at once which is somewhat disorientating. If I may make a suggestion, rather than moving all the cards along, maybe move the progress bar along the whole length of the row and make the cards non-interactable as they are activated (maybe grey them out or something)? Then once the progress bar reaches the end of the row, clear it and fill up with a new row of cards with a 5 second break or something so the player can skim read the cards and get their bearings; this way the cards stay in the same position on screen most of the time so it's less difficult to read or interact with them. Otherwise really well done, this is a really enjoyable game! I love the way multiple robot ragdolls fling up into the air after a few deaths :P

1000 Miles Drive by ashtheevil 2020-04-21T16:08:27Z

This was fun, controls felt good and the feeling of getting faster near the end kept me on my toes :)

The Gentleman by micahlg 2020-04-24T14:54:40Z

This is my favourite arcade/high-score game I think I've seen yet for this game jam! Really well executed with solid pixel art, crunchy sound effects and great gameplay. Great work! :)

Server Simulator by codinghusi 2020-04-21T14:13:17Z

Fun concept! It's quite fun seeing how more data flows as you get better reputation etc. though I almost entirely ignored the newsbar. I did notice there was a DDOS attack or something but there was so much text it was hard to tell if any of the information was important or not, potentially come up with additional ways of indicating important events to reduce the wall of text.

You Live Like This? by LurkinMcClerkin 2020-04-21T20:02:03Z

This game is brilliantly done, I love all the little branding jokes and the computer randomly crashing is a great way to break up the gameplay. Potentially there should be some sort of win state or a time limit, but otherwise you all did a great job!

KidPunk by Squeele 2020-04-22T20:18:46Z

I really enjoyed this! Died a fair few times figuring things out but overall it's a solid game, matching the theme very well! :)

Fishing Survivor Extreme by nizlow 2020-04-25T09:59:31Z

Fun simulation game! It does need a little bit of balancing, as others have noted - you can get an enormous amount of fish swimming about after a while and there's no win state as far as I can tell, but otherwise an enjoyable experience :) wowsimulation.PNG

Wonder by Ian Kettlewell 2020-04-22T19:34:58Z

This is a lovely chill game, really simple concept to pick up and enjoyable to play! I like the animated drawing a lot :)

BeamTron 5500 by Panagiotis Iatrou 2020-04-22T20:36:43Z

I love this, you've done a lovely job with the art and audio. Not to mention the screenshake when you shoot a laser :P I enjoy the way the keyboard is used, combined with impending missiles and ships it's surprisingly effective at causing an exciting panicked experience! I'd love to see more content, this could work really well as a mobile game. As a fun jam game though it's basically perfect :)

Blossom Blaster by skitzogamer 2020-04-21T13:45:22Z

This game is wonderful haha. Love that things slowly get more hectic with a great music track in the background!

SPOF: Single Point Of Failure by spectralcascade 2020-04-21T14:49:16Z

I have hotfixed the game by rebuilding it and adding the DLLs to the zip file just in case, hopefully it will work for everyone now - let me know if not! Thanks for all the feedback so far!

Hatch The Plat by Arman_Dot_Com 2020-04-21T19:21:04Z

This was an enjoyable game! The platypus is adorable haha. My only gripe is that clicking to pick up or drop objects doesn't work consistently.

Grooveaholics: Rock-Bottom Bell-Bottoms by dilauraba 2020-04-21T15:46:57Z

I wasn't entirely sure what I was doing yet I managed to win somehow :P, good fun, and the graphics and music are wonderful though :D

Scavenger by TentacleMax 2020-04-21T13:52:16Z

I love the art style (great backing music too :P) though the gameplay is a bit buggy - often I would click on trash and it wouldn't get picked up.

Help Me GROW! by IronStudios 2020-04-24T14:41:04Z

Good job on submitting the game in time! It is very simplistic, but given some more time this could be made into a cool wave shooter or something - lots of potential to expand upon! :)

Piggy Defense by Yskuma 2020-04-21T15:38:57Z

Although it took me a little while to figure out how to play, this game was great fun! It's got a lot of levels and I spent a lot of time figuring out the best configurations for levels. The UI is very basic but it does the job.

She Rocks by paynob 2020-04-22T22:28:38Z

This is a neat game, though pretty challenging! It fits the theme really well overall :)

Cube Breakout by TailMaker 2020-04-24T14:30:59Z

This was certainly interesting! The music is great, some really atmospheric electronic stuff. The gameplay itself needs a lot more attention, the swinging axes seemed to get stuck in the wall sometimes and the beams that teleport in front of you don't have any indication that they'll hit you besides the regular timing, maybe have them actually slide very quickly or play a sound effect when they move. In general though it was an enjoyable experience :)

Station Escape by hydrogen18 2020-04-21T19:25:19Z

This is an interesting game, I like the darkness aspect that makes it feel very exploratory, so it was fun to have a look round the level. However the control scheme is a little non-intuitive and the enemies were a pain to get past and my character would often get stuck on them. Otherwise good job! :)

Flower: The Game by Tolo 2020-04-21T14:02:20Z

Nice game, proves challenging to play though - climbing is a little annoying, ideally it wouldn't auto-climb when I got close to the right hand platform and in other spots though as I expected to just fall down to refill. Good job though!

Ninjalloony Balloon by ddanushkin 2020-04-21T15:59:36Z

This was great fun haha, the audio sound effects are wonderful - I love the cackling tree baddies popping up! Also was slightly confused about what to do at first. but quickly picked it up when enemies appeared. Only technical issue I had was that clicking on the slow mo button would throw a shurikin.

The HeartBeat by pomelouncia 2020-04-21T20:25:18Z

This game is fantastic; it's an absolutely stunning piece of work all round, the narrative, graphics, audio and rhythmic gameplay work together so amazingly well. I have no major negative feedback really, besides minor technical bug - some of the text formatting for things like bold/emphasised text stops working while a new tag is being parsed. Other than that though, this is brilliant, well done.

Günther by Massassen 2020-04-21T13:36:35Z

Pretty fun game, quite challenging to win. It wasn't very obvious what I was supposed to do until I read the info about the gameplay (which most people will probably miss), but the music and graphics are good and I love the ridiculous amount of particles :P

ALURTE by The Brodevhood 2020-04-21T19:39:26Z

This is a spooky game! I like the fact that you have to press the torch to stop it from dimming and you can close/open the canary box, but I wasn't sure when I should/shouldn't open or close it as there wasn't much feedback. Also not sure exactly what the plot line is, but overall this was a fun game! Very moody and tense atmosphere.
