The artstyle is perfect. Really matches the nostalgia. What was a bit missing was an actual gameplay mechanic. Maybe I missed something but if all you do is collecting coins thats not really perfect for a game. Anyway you can clearly see all the work that was put into matching the gameboy in terms of aesthetics and feel of the game.
Sadly the controls are inverted so it was very unusual for me. Apart from that I really like the audio and the art for the fans was great aswell. Could use bit more gameplay depth tho.
Thanks for all the positive feedback. We really think it payed off to not pile a ton of features and just polish the game for 1.5 days. @rasm yeah we are aware of that problem. After like 20 seconds the enemy normally comes back but I understand that most people will think it is completely bugged. @designernap I appreciate you liked the Audio as this was the first time I did all the audio for a game and I agree that it turned out pretty good in most cases (especially the shotgun). Also interesting that luftrausers already did movement by shooting. I thought we would be the first :)
The gameplay could need some more complexity to it but the art/the animations and the music are prefect and make up for that. Has a very vibrant and lovely mood to it and did I already talk about the music?
The art was fantastic. simplistic yet really nice. Also got quite a good score. But I think it was too easy. The sounds wasn*t anything special but at least present and fitting.
I feel like mike could spawn a little more often but I loved the intensity it got when you have like 7 bottles and 3 skeletons chasing you and just barely reaching mike to save your stuff.
Great art. also controls really smooth. Although I think it was a bit too easy.
Very interesting idea. Perfect for having fun for 2 minutes. The collision could need a little work tho. feels like the cats hitbox is way too big. The music is great and art is also very fitting.
Interesting concept. The background sound wasnt really great because it didnt loop smoothly. Next time just watch a video on how to loop sound with audacity. Its really easy and can add a lot to the atmosphere and final rating. In the end I still had fun while it lasted and the whole thing was just hilarious. Heads up and looking forward to your improvements for the next Ludum Dare :)
I wasn't quite sure where to go in the second level so I am sure I missed half of the game. But the part I played was enjoyable. Could have needed more challenge tho. Graphics were simple but nicely presented.
Great music and I love the double vision effect. Sadly the controls with gamepad are not optimal and a bit clunky because if you move the stick to the right to shoot to the right it first sets the direction to down regardless of input. Would be better if the arrow instantly followed the player input.
Apart from that small issue its a really solid game and has a great mood. Also note that the 1.1 version doesn't have the data folder packed with it so you cant start it.
I really liked the idea about stacking your sandwich combined with the physics. This was very original and fun. The music and graphics are great!

I only played it alone and it was not really fun that way as there was no competition. I am sure it plays better with multiple people. The Graphics, Audio and the general mood was great though.
Fun well rounded entry. Audio was nice. Wont rate graphics. Maybe you should opt out of Graphics next time if you dont make the assets yourself.
Initially I didnt quite get the game. But after I failed the first time I knew how it works. Also I didnt see the GO button first, maybe give it some highlight color. Music, Art and general atmosphere are great. Gameplay was decent, but more luck based than skill based.
The music fitted the game very well. I really enjoyed this one and there was a lot of content.
Cool game. Very similar to our entry. The assets were really nice and the mood was great.

Wayyy too much fighting. And every fight was the same. Just spam space to win. After like 5 fights I also got a random sound loading error popping up every 10 seconds which halted the gameplay until I clicked resume on the error, which was very annoying.
It was via download. I was something like spell2.ogg That could not be found or something like that.
Great heavy german accent. Small and simple but well made.
For the future. Dont use rar to package your gamefiles. Not everyone has winrar.
