Very nice graphics and sound effects. The gameplay feels a little unfinished as there isn't much strategy involved in the placing of the buildings!

Super dope, reminds me of balloon tower defense all day long. Nice little 8-bit graphics, however the world freezes on the 2nd level and I don't know what to do past that.

Well done! I really like the idea. And it gave a really nice challenge to find the balance. The graphics were great too.

Very interesting concept, well executed and polished. Would be nice if there was a little more to it though.

brandon-js-lea 2020-04-20 04:26

@forevertrash The idea is to balance how many enemies get past. Stop them all and you lose. Let too many though and you lose.

I like this interpretation of TD where you can build however many towers you want before the round and it isn't about preventing losing lives. I feel like resetting undoes what could be more of a puzzle feel or finding out what the balance is. There didn't seem to be enough information given to the player about where the waves will come from when, my sun would always go out while I was waiting for the wave I was expecting. Good luck!

Nice game ! Not as easy as it seems. The hot effect works realy well. Cool music too, thanks !

I liked the graphics and the audio a lot. I had the feeling that it isn't possible to figure out how many buildings are needed. But I think for a LD game it's pretty good!

brandon-js-lea 2020-04-20 17:57

@klaus-peter Do you mean you can't predict accurately how many buildings you will need to pass? You can build/destroy during the invasion, it's just much slower.Though yeah I agree, I would have liked to convey more info to the player about the enemies.

Initially I didnt quite get the game. But after I failed the first time I knew how it works. Also I didnt see the GO button first, maybe give it some highlight color. Music, Art and general atmosphere are great. Gameplay was decent, but more luck based than skill based.

Well done, simple but nice and effective graphics. Audio is fantastic. Would have loved a bit more UI elements, not sure if it's me but you never get to place more than 5 towers. It's bit one-dimensional from a progression point of view but hey in 48h well done, I didn't managed myself only for the jam

Great game and an interesting take on tower defense. A lot of emergent complexity from a set of simple concepts, and quite a challenge to get the balance just right. I'd love to see more types of enemies and defences, but otherwise really cool. I really enjoyed playing this game.

brandon-js-lea 2020-04-20 18:19

@wuceng If it felt more luck based, you might have missed the fact you can create and destroy towers during the rounds, it just takes longer (I should have made it clearer TBH).

Fascinating concept, this is a game I would like to spend more time with. Would love to see this elaborated on!

shaolin-dave 2020-04-21 06:14

Good spin on the tower defense concept.

Love the theme and the mood of the game. The art is simple, slick and very good at depicting what needs to be depicted. Love the twist on the tower defense genre.

gwinnell 2020-04-21 18:37

Love the mechanic! The heatwave effect was really cool too. Really nicely done! :sunny:

alexrose 2020-05-02 01:11

Interesting take on the genre, much more fun than generic tower defense games. ggs.

I really love the balancing act! Also really really loved the art :)

Interesting concept! I included it in my Ludum Dare 46 compilation video series, if you want to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/W3MIuB5jBTw
