LD46 — Keep it alive

Its Alive! by automatonvx 2020-04-21T02:03:30Z

Really really enjoyed this, would love to see more levels! I could even see this expanding beyond Lenore, with rescuing her being just one chapter among many misadventures. Particularly liked the music and victory tune.

Love the Baby by Myles McCoy 2020-04-20T16:56:14Z

@mark-kelly the goal was to have many more strange dangers like that, however I was busy this weekend and many never made it past the drawing board. For example, there was going to be skeleton that could run you down, and there was going to be a first-person mode to hunt for food when you run out. skeleton_2.gif

@holysparks wuh oh, the hand thing is def a bug, here's what's supposed to happen: https://twitter.com/witch_warren/status/1251960888132861952 Glad you like it though! If you follow me on itch.io or twitter you'll see some updates pretty soon, I've got some cutting room floor stuff in the works.

Love the Baby by Myles McCoy 2020-04-20T23:52:48Z

@automatonvx yikes, that is a very disturbing bug. His hearts come back from petting until he's at 5, and then will randomly go up if he is well fed. The radio, upon being put away, can actually be put back out, just keep an eye on it. in the meantime, updates are in the works, i'm excited to make this as weird as possible.

Firestarter by Snowdrama 2020-04-21T02:11:22Z

Ran around keeping the population in check for a bit but burning was just too fun so i decided to go overboard. Running from cops and distracting them with fires was fun!

Planet Doom by NNNIKKI 2020-04-20T16:43:21Z

The screenshake is a bit much but in the end I think it works in your favor. The graphics are absolutely killer, I love the sound effects, and the win condition is extremely engaging. It's to difficult for me, but that doesn't keep me from being a fan. I also really enjoy the lore and terminology, very well done.

On Air by Beebo Studios 2020-04-21T02:36:28Z

Neat premise, difficult to keep everything under control! One of those dogs/sheep was nearly impossible to catch. Would like to see this as a co-op game so you can divvy out tasks.

Grove Guardian by VivianMochi 2020-04-20T18:03:49Z

This is an outrageously great game. Amazing premise and execution, beautiful music, extremely engaging gameplay. I played it to completion and plan to play again to try and find all the upgrades. I earnestly want this to be a full-fledged game, i adored every minute of it.

Wavering Divinity by Brandon JS Lea 2020-04-20T18:22:17Z

Fascinating concept, this is a game I would like to spend more time with. Would love to see this elaborated on!

Amadiro by Dani Desa 2020-04-20T16:47:32Z

Excellent game, extremely easy entry-level gameplay, difficult overall challenge, and just enough variety to keep it interesting. I love that I can jump in and get a run going quickly.

The Dragon's Curse by Aditya Kumar 2020-04-21T02:54:18Z

Really ambitious game given the time limit! I liked the music a lot, the art was nice, and the dialogue was funny. It is crazy hard but in the end its more about the journey than the destination, right? Also I got stuck in an infinite loop in shoptown; i didn't have enough money to buy the supplies so all I could say was "THAT'S OUTRAGEOUS" and it would just restart the conversation.

SlugBall by Foursay 2020-04-21T16:24:46Z

Great music, fun premise, really nice art style. Platforming was slightly clunky but totally serviceable. The level RUN!!! was hyper stressful!

Keep The Spirit Stone Allive by Ausstein 2020-04-21T02:23:10Z

I liked this! Enjoyable graphics, decent premise. It's a little slow, but I enjoyed watching my animal soldiers fight a bunch of scary monsters until I was overwhelmed.

Robot Walk by tmpvoid 2020-04-21T23:19:21Z

Dude this is something I've always wanted to make! I know it's not finished but man, its 5 stars in my book. Please see this through, I would love to play it, or even just steer the robot around various environments for no reason. A+ on the walking animation too, i am floored.

Bob The Bog Roll Defender by Ch4oticAU 2020-04-21T16:04:19Z

Always love a ludum dare with voice acting, bravo. Very playable, nice simple premise, solid sound effects. Would have liked the ability to swap weapons with the mouse wheel so i could keep my hands on WASD, but otherwise the controls were fine.

Space Station Alpha by kjscott 2020-04-20T17:20:37Z

I am extremely into this game. Huge in scope, excellent exploration features, loved the set pieces whenever I ran into them. Once I got the hang of the controls and what all the tiles meant, I was totally hooked.

Flamebearer by HolySparks 2020-04-20T16:17:41Z

Really neat premise, I enjoyed fiddling with the mechanics and running around the levels. I often found myself skipping combat until it was required, which I personally do not see as an issue. When I discovered I could rush in mid air a lot of the seemingly impossible platforming challenges made more sense. I wouldn't mind seeing this game with more development!

Aphotic Aquatic by qqcs 2020-04-21T03:02:21Z

The dialogue and descent into madness was really fun! Could have used some music near the end to really sell the cosmic horror. I got to 60 on my first run!! Anyway nice visuals, repetitive but honestly solid gameplay. I had fun.

embershrooms by togo sepultraut 2020-04-21T02:29:45Z

A solid framework, I absolutely love the art and the general setting. I managed to chop down all the trees in the forest so I call that a win. Would love to see this grow into something more complete.

Shashou the Panda by Mark Kelly 2020-04-20T17:06:26Z

Killer sprites and subtle animation, really satisfying game speed and feel, simple and addictive. The choice to majorly reduce the range of the gun was extremely smart. The game got a bit easier when I discovered that I cannot, in fact, accidentally shoot Shashou myself. A neat feature would be for bamboo to grow a tile or two away and cause Shashou to become uncentered, heightening the danger from one side or the other. Also an aerial enemy or two would help justify the jump button, but these are just ideas; in the end I really enjoyed the game.

GRDN by bjornkri 2020-04-20T16:24:38Z

Love the sprites, don't mind the futile nature of the growth. Really great job, that was a lot of fun.

Keep Ye Alive by JoskerDu 2020-04-20T17:14:28Z

honestly despite its extreme simplicity I think it works. very nice graphics, phone-friendly gameplay and controls, just enough RNG to keep it from truly playing itself. would love to see a vast array of strange monsters to keep things interesting during a longer run!
