Interesting game, I love the art

finntastico 2020-04-21 02:32

The art of this game is so lovely :) I really liked just walking around and looking at stuff. took me a while though to find the controls. you should mention in the description that c is using an item. also really after knowing the controls I still didn't really know what i had to do apart from keeping the fires out.

anyway: i really love that moustache, would love to see more with that guy haha

chrissimas 2020-04-21 02:35

The art is one of the best one I've seen so far, and I'm in love with all the sound details. Loved the colors! But I didn't quite get what to do. I tried to stop the flames with the fire extinguisher but I just kept picking up and dropping it until the game was over. Is there any control to use the item you equipped?

myles-mccoy 2020-04-21 02:36

Neat premise, difficult to keep everything under control! One of those dogs/sheep was nearly impossible to catch. Would like to see this as a co-op game so you can divvy out tasks.

purrseus 2020-04-21 02:40

I'm so stupid, forgetting to put all the controls in the description :face_palm: Yes, you can use X to pick up stuff and C to use it. There are 3 shows that start on consecutive days.

no-grapes-games 2020-04-21 02:41

Yeah the art is very good. A lot was done in one weekend. I found myself just running around with nothing so save sometimes though. A little more guidance on what to do while in game would help make the game a little more fun.

keldy 2020-04-21 02:41

The looks are amazing, the art and the music are on point! Bu i'm having a struggle with the itens, can't stop the fire with extinguisher, is there a control to use itens?

asgardheavy 2020-04-21 02:42

Wacky fun! The art was great and the music fit the mood perfectly.

It was the frustrating kind of fun while I figured out how to play. The text instructions on both this page and the itch.io page left out the 'press C to use objects' instruction -- fortunately the in-game Tutorial had that little tid-bit.

Great job!

drewg8 2020-04-21 02:52

I love the art and music in this game! I also love how much is going on at once and the attention to detail. I noticed the screens that show how much time until the show is back on. The problem is, I wasn't entirely sure what I was supposed to be doing. There probably needs to be more instruction/cues for certain things, like the fire extinguisher capacity. But the game is really well thought out and a very interesting take on the theme. Good job!

lees-pac 2020-04-21 04:22

This game has god teir art, if some small tweeks where made to make the game more clear/feel better, this game would be sick

cannedveg 2020-04-21 04:30

This was so polished! I had a bit of an issue working out exactly what to do as some others have mentioned but it was still a lot of fun! Love the art and music and the atmosphere it creates! Definitely would love to play a full game of this

exkilu 2020-04-21 05:12

I loved the different use of the theme. The ghosts got the best of me. In the web version the level didn't end when the MO got to 0, so I ended up downloading the windows version to play.

tinhocaa 2020-04-21 18:04

Really fun game! Really polished too, the art is what impressed me the most, great work!!

kaeveris 2020-04-21 20:27

Cool idea and execution! The music is great and the art is fantastic! I just love to go around and look at things, they are so well done! I wasn't sure what exactly should I do until I saw a fire and realized that there was fire extinguisher XD

lapisraider 2020-04-22 13:56

Was quite slow at the start, but it was really fun! Love the graphics and colour palette of the game. The animals are adorable and the soundtrack fits the game really well!

sndr 2020-04-22 14:00

The art is absolutely adorable! Really like it. I do agree with some of the comments above about some cues being probably necessary to focus the player's attention into the important bits. But we do know it's a jam, and time is limited so it's good stuff nonetheless.

jakier 2020-04-22 14:22

Love the art style and love the concept! Nice take on the theme.

studionokoi 2020-04-22 16:38

the art is really cool and i like the little messages on the screen near the start. i wasn't too good at this game but the premise seems really cool and i'd love to see something cool come from your game development journey.

garys 2020-04-22 18:31

Nice artwork, I can see the game being fun but to be honest I found it a bit difficult to guage whether I was doing it correctly... I kept putting out fires and catching sheep and thought that was all going well, and then suddenly game over with no explaination.

jxavier 2020-04-22 19:00

nice graphics, I'm to slow, maybe I am not made to maintain the show business running xP

elendow 2020-04-22 21:36

Interesting concept and very cool art and audio. It was a bit hard knowing if I was doing everything correctly but nothing to be worried of. Nice job.

cristi-mihai 2020-04-22 23:23

It begged to have up/down sprite positions of the main characters. It was quite funny when you looked up and splashed the water.

oqlqo 2020-04-22 23:26

The graphics are perfect! One of the best I have seen yet! I just found a bit hard to keep the flames off in the begining but then the game started to gradually get better and better!

giulio-bottari 2020-04-22 23:33

Loved the pixel art! I think the game is somewhat too long, though. Kinda what happened to our game, that is also based on a week.

norris-eldridge 2020-04-22 23:34

I really love the take on the theme! Really nice game overall. I think it's great how the music shifts as you move throughout. This is a really unique concept and I could see this being expended to be something really great.

comocosmos 2020-04-22 23:45

Really enjoyed this game, You guys did a good job of nailing the retro style, Especially with the character and asset designs and music. I enjoyed the little "TV Broadcasting world" that was put together, You start to see your self as a character fitting in that 'job/reality'. Makes me wish this was a full game!

dev-dwarf 2020-04-23 05:32

A very soulful game! You can tell all the little details that have gone into it.

zerohbeat 2020-04-23 11:50

Was a bit difficult to play (yet fun to figure out what to do.) Really cool game! Really well made and it seems really polished.

lamossus 2020-04-23 12:02

Great game! Mechanics are fun, graphics are good, music is nice. But I think the level where ghosts first appear is a bit too hard. You are still learning the game at this point and the difficulty spike is rather big there

docgeraud 2020-04-23 12:03

The art is really good! I did not know what to do appart from extinguishing the fire, but it was nice anyway. I would have love to try to catch a few ghosts. And the music is great

marc-grabow 2020-04-24 12:48

Clever idea, nice pixel art style, great controls - this has been built by a great team!

ryannielson 2020-04-24 13:01

Neat little game, very clever idea. The pixel art is absolutely fantastic, and I really like the audio. I think the game would benefit from some more feedback when putting out fire, or making it more obvious what the player was supposed to do. I was putting out fires then I suddenly got a game over screen with no explanation. I few tweaks to that, and maybe some feedback when you were getting really low ratings, would help a ton.

Great job!

fatpenguin 2020-04-24 13:38

What an insanely cool game! The graphics and gameplay ideas were hilarious, the music fit really well! That's one of the games that while playing actually felt like a game :) If you continue working on it, which I would encourage, then maybe add a bit of a hint text telling you what to do (like then the extinguisher is empty, I know you said that in the instructions but honestly when it first happened it me I didn't remebr it and thought it was a bug and was annoyed, haha) also the doggy placement was a bit weird, 4 out of 5 times it wouldnt work? It seems like you had to put them in from the right angle but I didn't seem to be able to figure that out, I think if you stand in front of the cage and just press the button then it should work :) Also maybe highlight the objects to interact with so the player can distinguish them more clearly :)

All in all a really cool game which I think I would buy on Steam if you add more levels and polish it :)

ladycerberus 2020-04-24 14:06

Awesome game concept, love the idea anf fits perfectlly with the theme. Art portraits are the best, congratz!

dankar 2020-04-25 19:36

Very interesting concept! Great art and just stressful enough to be fun :)

framboisedodue 2020-04-25 22:26

Very fun and complete ! It would have been cool to have more informations in game like when the fire extinguisher is empty! But it was great anyway!

eran-haas 2020-04-25 22:28

Real Maniac Mansion vibes to the music! Loved it

savvu 2020-04-25 22:36

So awesome and very well polished pixel art! You deserve all my respect for that. Congratulations and keep up the great work!

dummydojo 2020-04-25 22:40

Pretty unique idea. I like the setting and the art. The music constantly changing was pretty weird and annoying to me. It was a bit overwhelming to start with since there are so many rules and controls. I feel like you should try to condense these so that it isn't so difficult for a first time player to understand or to introduce them as the game progresses. The first day was realllllly slow. Putting out the fires doesn't feel very interactive. The pets feel quite buggy. I think they are getting stuck in the walls and they don't always get put in the cage when I'm right next to them. A pet got stuck in the corner of the show set under the spotlight and it basically just drained all of the happiness. The game should just end when you're at 0, so the player doesn't have to wait to know that they lost. I also feel like there should be a way to actively increase happiness, maybe giving the stars snacks/gifts during the commercial breaks would mesh well with the current game play.

saulo-rosart 2020-04-25 22:53

Very cool ideia and the pixel art is so good, mainly the color pallet! I just felt a little bit lost, maybe the UI? Great entry!

cadstor 2020-04-25 23:03

Really cool aesthetics. Nice entry :3

mulberg 2020-04-25 23:50

I like the art and the overall concept of the game. It is quite fun to play as a stage-hand.

However, currently there are too many things that going on in the game and the control are not polished enough. For a game jam it would be nice to sacrifice a half of the content in exchange to more polished gameplay.

ryan123rudder 2020-04-26 07:34

So fun! you should totally keep going and continue the polish

mika-la-grand 2020-04-27 12:28

Pretty fun and nice art. My main complaint is that you have to refill the fire extinguisher, which isn't that obvious. You're also displaying the controls incorrectly, it's actually S to pick up and A to use.

johnnysix 2020-04-29 00:12

Top marks for humour, I thought I had a handle on things until flaming dogs started running round.

My PC is old, so once the flames got out of hand, it chugged and crashed - if you continue to develop and do a mobile port, maybe work on a way to do the fire so it's less resource heavy?

As everyone else has said, amazing art, and the the scenarios and story are ace. Love the way it slowly builds into an scene of complete madness.

paulhocker 2020-04-29 02:35

my fire extinguisher ran out and i could not figure out how to replenish it. i think the ideas was good and looked great. nice work.

vesper 2020-05-02 12:06

I love how quickly the content in the instructions pane escalates. Do x to pick up/extinguish fires/put animals back in cages, and then suddenly you're exorcising demons and sending them back to hell (as one does). Very amusing.

That said, the difficult level was insane, and the fire was almost always out of control, no matter how on it I was, and the refill point was an age away when one factors in how little juice it has. Would be nice if things ramped up a little more slowly so you could get used to managing the various shows before all hell breaks loose (sometimes literally) on all fronts. Also some directional cues pointing you towards any brewing disasters would be a nice addition. But yeah, with some tweaks on the gameplay balance you could have a real winner here. The look and overall feel was really impressive, well done.

shadowhaxz0r 2020-05-03 12:16

Cool idea! Liked the mixing of different audio for the different studios. Could do with some warning signs when things are starting to get out of hand on one of the sets. Feels very nice otherwise. Great job!

reece-geofroy 2020-05-03 13:33

Holy damn....This artstyle is FIRE maaaan!!! <3 Great work on the game. Keep working on this project!! Great potential here.

joror 2020-05-03 14:36

Great game! Lots of fun little mechanics in there - some minor nitpicking is that the day ending successfully is not communicated that well, the screen reset feels like an 'oops I did not make it'.

Fire otoh doesn't seem to be nearly as dangerous as lambs

Nicely done!

kamilko 2020-05-03 15:22

Haha this is fun game. The graphics is cool and sounds fun when walking through different studios. But extinguisher could last a little longer though... ;)

exilegl 2020-05-03 16:16

Very unique idea :) A nice little touch could be an indicator pointing toward the refill station when you're low. The little (dogs?) running around causing chaos are very cute. Maybe they could spread a little bit of fire if they're running around while having caught fire themselves.

epicload 2020-05-03 16:31

Beautiful art ! Cute music and fun gameplay!

rubyleehs 2020-05-03 16:45

Tbh I had nothing to new that others haven't mentioned yet not do I have anything constructive/feedback to give now. But I played the updated version for a short while and it definately felt more balanced. Though not too sure how much less buggy it is - not that it impacted gameplay/enjoyment much though >.<

bkmld 2020-05-03 19:53

Neat concept. Browser play can lag a little. Could probably try to optimize it so it uses less computational resources. Team play would be a nice addition.

dps2004 2020-05-03 19:54

This is seriously fun! I could see myself playing a more fleshed out version of this on a console.

ddrkirbyisq 2020-05-03 23:05

Nice. I played until Thursday when I had all 3 stations going.

Like some other LD games I've played it seems like you've got some fun things going on here but a lot of the action ends up happening off-screen which leads to a lot of running around just to pan the camera around. I feel like if the game could be consolidated to fit onto one screen (with an according increase in the pacing of the events) it would be much more fun. As it is it's mostly a game about constantly running around between three stations to check on them which does get a little old...not sure if maybe that was just your initial intent though. The music changing depending on the area that you're in was a neat idea that I feel like got hampered by the gameplay since running around constantly causes the music to repeatedly fade in and out between the different versions.

Aside from that there's a lot of charm here, I know I just criticized the decision to have so much space in the level layout, but I did actually appreciate all of the little (unnecessary) visual details thrown in regardless. :)

juice-lizard 2020-05-04 16:45

Very good game. I just failed at sunday. I like the graphics, the audio, the Xbox pad controls and the original theme.

zubspace 2020-05-04 21:15

Interesting game! First and foremost: The pixel art is fantastic and how you mixed those different music tracks together is awesome!

The gameplay is innovative, but a bit too hectic for my taste. I knew what I was supposed to do, but the difficulty curve went up a bit too steep and new tasks were not introduced well.

Only once was I able to return a dog into the cage, don't know why it did not work the other times.

But probably I was just to dumb to figure it out. Apart from the minor issues, the rest was top-notch!

2020-05-06 13:40

Interesting game! I included it in my Ludum Dare 46 compilation video series, if you want to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/LDazM6iYHxE

nothoughts 2020-05-06 19:43

I like it so much!

fabula-rasa 2020-05-08 19:55

Very nice concept and I enjoyed the graphics! It gets so hectic and messy! Pure fun to play.

And the music complimented the graphics very nicely. Congrats on a great jam game!

strega 2020-05-10 00:13

Neat mechanic! The art is really nice. I felt that there was a little too much downtime early on, felt weird waiting for fires and things.

neontropics 2020-05-10 13:25

Really great graphics - the whole studio is lovingly created and has great fun little details. Having rooms be separated by colour scheme was great. The audio is very fun as well, including the little character mumbles.

It goes fairly quickly from not too much to do to complete chaos - a smoother rampup here might be good.

deakcor 2020-05-10 21:45

Really enjoyed this game, nice gameplay ideas. A difficulty nice managed. Just to bad that the gui didn't have any theme but anyway, nice job!
