Do you think you'll do a build for Mac?

sunnray 2018-04-23 09:00

@pandademic42 Unfortunately, not. I have the free version of GM that only allows builds for Windows.

mathiouza 2018-04-23 19:32

Interesting ^^ But I think "caressing sim" is quite an excuse to fit in the theme ^^' Otherwise I would see more of these kind of phase.

Otherwise, I really liked the fact that is the life which throw to you problems that kill you ^^

Too bad for the music, the next time you will be able to use FL studio ;) (I hope)

And I felt weird when I saw that the hand did not go as quickly as our mouse does. Maybe you should fix that ? Also that is because my mouth go out of the screen befor the hand, so that is a little weird.

But anyway, that is quite a good game, keep coding :)

Hey man, I've played your game for a couple of rounds - might be a tad bit on the easy side.

Also there's like this super easy cheese trick if you just get your mouse to the pet before the words really had time to spawn and you can pet your pet just no matter.

Looking at what the game communicates - that might aswell be a lifehack you recommend though. :D

Btw: sth. which made making music for me really easy was this free tool: http://www.beepbox.co

I heavily recommend it!

@Mathiouza haha yeah you got me, that was quite an excuse :D If I left the hand speed as high as the mouse speed, it would be too easy to play. Thanks for the feedback tho!

sunnray 2018-04-23 19:59

@elZach dam thought I fixed that :D Ooh that seems like a really useful tool, but I've never heard of it before. Thanks for sharing!

mathiouza 2018-04-23 20:01

You probably should make the mouth unable to get out of the screen though, like making it returning to the center of the screen each time you know the player moved the cursor. That is the easiest and efficiest way to change the sensibility of the mouth. Hope I was clear ^^'

sunnray 2018-04-23 20:06

@Mathiouza hmm yeah I'll see what I can do with it, thanks for the advice!

sh1rogane 2018-04-23 20:25

Hey, I won :D. That last pet was brutal (had to cheese it by moving the hand before it stated shooting :P). Would be nice if the cat (and hand) had randomized starting position.

sunnray 2018-04-24 09:18

@sh1rogane I'll think about that. Thanks for playing!

I really love the message of your game, that's adorable, I really appreciate this kind of games that make people think :)

I play two times without trick the game (moving quicly the cursor to the corner before life gets time to throw you things, you know xD) Perhaps it could be fix doing what people have said about random positions of the cat.

Anyway, nice entry and really really good job with your message! Hope we see in the next ludum dares!

@ethereal-psyche-games thanks for playing and commenting! I'm glad you liked it :D

As other people have mentioned, it certainly seems that life can be bested by moving with speed, precision, and confidence. And the reward is petting a cute cat. What's not to like?

jk5000 2018-05-15 07:45

This is overall a very good little LD game. The controls is not super great, but it works.

steve-sparkes 2018-05-15 10:57

Good job with the entry! I really liked the contrast of the petting sim being offset by the depressing thoughts. I love a bit of melancholy. I'd really like to see this developed further. When I played it was possible to shoot the hand straight for the cat and guarantee a win! Keep making games!

random-storykeeper 2018-05-15 19:11

Well I got to pet the cat once before accidentally moving my mouse *too* far up the window and closing out of the game the second time around. :stuck_out_tongue: It's a fun, cute little game. I love how the bullet hell portion involves dodging words, and how the LIFE text at the top basically follows you horizontally, which means the closer you get to the cat, the more riskier it is that you'll be hit by something in life. I thought the art looked fine; the pixel aesthetics worked here. That hand is quite detailed to the point where it gets a bit creepy, but maybe this is just on me. I had a good time for the small amount I played.

This hits me in the feels, so I hit you in those five stars.
