We made it to the end, great job!
A really nice and simple concept, well executed! I really got into the rhythm of stocking up on fruits I may need and frisbeeing them to the customers. This game could be used for a mental workout haha. Only change I would like to see is having the fruit you DON'T choose getting discarded. It would give more risk/reward to the player for stocking up on fruits early! A really solid entry for the compo, keep making games!
This was an incredibly well-rounded game entry! It was a good choice for the player to be sent back to the last fire they hit, cause it allows for you to fumble around an increasingly intense environment whilst you're trying to find the first upgrade. Once you start getting powers you really feel that you can start to work with the world presented in the game. The art style and sounds are on point, really well done! Only thing that I wasn't sure was intentional is that the eyes on the last boss didn't reset, so it just became a war of attrition! Take out an eye, lose, go back and take out another. Really, an incredible entry! Keep making games!
@carraka I text skip option would be a great addition! I'll take a look into adding it, though the reason there isn't one right now is that it would scramble the text and animations as it continues to keep looping through the text. I'll keep you updated!
@rammy294 The module labels do end up being really small in two of the missions. I'll take a look into it and update you! Thanks for the feedback. It would have been great to have sound. The focus ended up being on content, so it will be great to include a sound designer for next time. :)
@carraka I've implemented a text-skip when you lift click. Version 1.1 has been uploaded to itch.io!
@rammy294 I've made the module labels easier to read. Thanks for the feedback!
The art style and music show that this game has real potential! It's a shame that you run out of time, but it would be AMAZING if you all finished it in the future. I'd love to play it again then!
A nice simple concept, well executed! I enjoyed all the of minigames except for the thrusters one! I honestly found it impossible to judge the amount of thrust to use to get to the next platform. I feel that it isn't necessary to fail the player if they fall off the platforms in that one, you've already got the closing walls of the screen to say when the player has failed! Other than that small thing, I really enjoyed the game. Keep making games!
The simplicity of this game makes it really nice to pick up and play! Once you get a feel for juggling the jetpack it's fun to chance the risk/reward of swinging around the singularity to save some cats and people. It would be great if you could update it with a "continue" screen at the end of the game, cause I want to check over my score! A solid entry, keep making games!
I got 27,560! Wow, such a simple addition to a space shooter by adding the closing walls is really exciting! The game gets so intense in the end when you're only left with a tiny corridor left to shoot enemies in. Great job with the entry, keep making games!
Wow. By the far the most polished and neatly wrapped entry I've yet to play in Ludum Dare! I have a similar problem with other commenters, in that I'm so blown away I'm really struggling to find what to say. Really the only feedback I can give is that it took me 2 attempts to figure out you had to drop the directions in the bar at the bottom of the programming mini-game. But the clean layout of the game is so perfect that I wouldn't want to see it cluttered with more writing! It's just like in a real Ludum Dare, where you have to bumble around every now and then before you find your footing on a task ;) Please, please, please please please keep making games!
Nice job on the entry! The game could run a little better! Maybe try making smaller levels with fewer people in them. Though it's a really cool idea to have a large amount of people you have to weave through to avoid the officers. The turn speed of the character could be a little faster if you're going for tank controls. :) The mood of the game was great, trippy city environments whilst you're trying your find your away around to your customers. Good job, keep making games!
Good job on the entry! I only managed to get 14% of the survivors before running out of fuel... I guess that's the problem with having no money haha. There was a nice balance of gameplay in this entry. The minimap got a bit confusing as it rotated with the player, but that was just a minor thing. Good job and keep making games!
A really nice visual style, my goodness! I enjoyed getting lost in the maze with the music and graphics tripping me out haha. I kept trying to go forward but didn't quite find an ending. Maybe the story is that I just got lost in the maze forever haha! Great job on the entry, keep making games!
A really funny take on tamagotchi! It was fun to play through, but would have benefited from being clearer with how far through the game you made it. I'm not sure I got to read all the brilliant writing!
Great entry, keep making games!
Such a stylish game! The intro alone is worth a high mood score haha. The camera work when fighting is really fun, and I enjoyed the low poly art style. I tried to cheese the game by constantly spamming attacks, and staying invincible, but the aliens would often shoot me at just the right time to get a hit, hah.
It's a fun game but the difficulty curve could do with some tweaking! Level two was a lot harder than the first. It's a really solid entry, and I hope you keep making games! Good work!
The aesthetic for this game is just incredible! I really loved the atmosphere of this game, but the gameplay is too twitchy to hold up to the art, sound and animation. The homing missiles are the only weapon that really worked for me, as there was no way I was going to be able to target the moving ships with the lasers!
I also think I experienced a bug where the whale was getting damaged, but the health bar wasn't updating. I lost the game whilst the whale was apparently still at full health.
A little bit of work to slow down the game and tighten up the controls would make this such a phenomenal game! Keep at it!
A really stylish game! The UI was handled really well, other than the inconsistent controls as you've already mentioned. ;) This game could be spectacular when you've added the other things on your to-do list!
Great job, keep making games!
I always appreciate a web build! A really cool idea and I'd love to see it developed further. :) The idea of mythical monsters getting with the times and having to get an online presence is really funny.
Being able to move around the map to appear would have been an extra element to the gameplay, and perhaps there could have been park rangers that will attack you if you appear in front of them. A couple of small additions like this could make it into an even cooler game!
Great job on the entry and keep making games!
This is such a cool concept for a game! I have to admit I was a bit disappointed that I'm playing as a conductor and don't get to use the mouse to control the baton. :(
I think the gameplay could be a lot more interesting if you were redirecting orbs using the baton. But what you have is still cool, just a little difficult to control!
I think the theme and the artstyle you went with really stands out compared to a lot of the entries for this jam, and it's definitely one of the stronger points of your game for me. Really good job, and keep making games!
The art and mood of the game was incredible! I think the darkness was a little to dark at times though, and it did end up preventing me from finishing the game. I scouted out the path I had to take, but would get stuck when trying to platform in the dark after leaving the firefly on a button. It's a really pretty game, and I hope you keep making them!
This is such a cool idea for a game! I really love the innovation with this. It would be so cool to see it developed further.
An issue I found with the game is that it doesn't matter who threw a ball, it can still completely wreck their own team. My teammates really liked to blast me to pieces at the start of a match. Perhaps the ball could turn blue/red depending on which team throws it.
In the future, a game like this with upgrades and team composition could be really awesome, and I would play a lot of that game. Thanks for coming up with a fresh idea, and keep making games!
A simple and easy to understand idea, but a cool one to play! It would have been great to see more levels, but what you have is nice. If you add different shaped levels in the future it could add a lot of interesting puzzling decisions!
I experienced a bug where I played the game TOO well, and all of the wyverns died and the game locked up. :(
A good entry, keep making games!
Such an artistically impressive game! The sound design really ramped up the absurdity of it all. I enjoyed this a lot, but the screen space could have been put to use by having the fish be bigger. I ended up a few of my longer runs by misclicking what I thought SHOULD have been the body but ended up being the head. :(
A really solid entry, and I can't wait to see what you make next!
@jlv Simon Says is a sequence game, so you can't start at the end ;)
I enjoyed the concept of the game, thought it was a little difficult to figure out how to play it at first! For anyone else who's wondering, you have to recharge the watering can, radio and lamp, and hold right click when directly behind the plant. It can be really finicky as to when using an item actually fills up the plants bars!
It would be good to make the area the player has to stand in to use an item a little bigger. :) I also couldn't figure out how to feed the plant with cooked food unless I got the plant to attack me and eat the meat in the process!
The art and mood of the game was fun, and I really enjoyed that. The music brought a lot of life to it as well. Nice asking price btw ;) Great job on the entry and keep making games!
A really cool game! The art style is nice and colourful, and the writing really helps set the mood. I would suggest if possible keeping the whole game on one screen, as that's the main thing that stopped me from being able to complete the game. There was a lot going even without having to move the camera haha!
Maybe I'm just biased but I really enjoy Steve themed games. ;) Great job on this entry and keep making games!
A nice little twist on an infinite runner by having to manage your train of ducklings. The art style is simple and nice, but with everything wobbly it can make my brain hurt a bit! The audio is funny, but maybe put a profanity warning at the beginning of the game for anyone who might be streaming!
A solid entry, keep making games!
There's an insane level of polish going on with this game! I really loved the tire marks and the top-down/first person combo of gameplay and UI. I'm honestly so impressed that I've only got really nitpicky things to comment, such as the roads feeling ever so slightly too tight and I would love for my first right click to start charging a package rather than just enter me into delivery mode... but as I said these are tiny problems in the face of what an awesome entry this is. Amazing work and I hope to see more Ludum Dare games from you in the future!
A cool concept! It would be cool to see this game remade as something a little bit more turn-based (or dare I say card-based!) as I was clicking those upgrade buttons as fast as I could by the end. ;) A really nice idea with the automation of your units, it was fun to watch the chaos unfold by the end of each day. Great job and keep making games!
@Nillard, I agree that some of the levels are incredibly easy to solve! An addition I'd like to add is an object (probably a star, I'd then switch out the goal with a flag) that is placed in the middle of the path of objects, meaning you have to use all the parts placed down. Procedural level generation was certainly a challenge to solve in 3 days haha!
A very cool concept with some nice flare! Visually it's a very nice game. I struggled with actually hitting the targets, but I've never been that good in aiming in games anyway. ;) Great job, keep making games!
I didn't get as high a score as others, but with 162 I'm still pretty chuffed! I'd love to see this game expanded on with a mechanic to call specific colours of trucks. With a significant cooldown it could be a good risk/reward mechanic where I decide if I want to clear out all my white boxes even though I can see a line of greens coming up on the conveyor... A solid entry, great job!
A really cute game! The music, sfx and especially the pollen covered bumblefluff made it a joy to play the game. It would be great to see a harder game mode added that has the bee drop significantly faster, so it becomes almost a game of jumping between flower trampolines! A really nice entry, well done and keep making games!
A solid entry! It was great fun tearing through town. I got a little too carried away and slammed into Bob's house at mach 10 when I only had 2 seconds left to deliver my pizzas though... Great work; keep making games!
Very nice work on this! It's a great game to vibe to. I'm impressed with the pathfinding approach to planning the routes, though that didn't mean I was any better at organising my deliveries. ;) The aesthetic of the game was sleek, cohesive and probably my favourite part of it. Great work team!
This was an incredible entry and I really loved it! Amazing start and end to the game with the scroll and voice acting. It was a simple concept which made it so fun to jump into another shot of the ballista, I just wish the game had been longer! I immediately sank all the money I had into the multiplier bonus and ended up blasting through the game by day 10. A really nice concept that could genuinely be developed into a longer-term project. Great work team!
The camera movements were very flashy! The first level where the camera pans back to the "secret mechanic" is very very cool. I found it a bit difficult to keep ahead of the "secret mechanic", but had fun retrying levels and spamming that W key haha. Great job!
Just like in real life, the managers only get in the way...
A cool entry! I especially liked the funky music. Great job!
A really cool concept! I've wanted to learn morse code for a while, so it was cool to jump in and start trying it out so quickly! As some others have said, messing up the last letter of a word because of the timings not being exact got a little frustrating. I kept ending up with "passwort", "passworwe" and such, where I just really, really wanted to be able to delete the last letter inputted... I appreciate you going for the realism approach, so maybe for the sequel you give the morse coder time travel powers for lore purposes. ;)
I loved the pizza switching mechanic in combination with the pizza "recall" mechanic! A really cool concept. Having the character movement be a little slower when travelling through the air could allow for some real nail-biting mid-air platforming. A really solid foundation with some lovely visual flair. Great job!
My goodness this was visceral. A really nice package from start to finish, and it's cool to have seen multiple takes on the theme! The "Delivery" section was hard to beat without a lot of trial-and-error, which killed the pacing a little bit for me. But it still added to the whole vibe of the game, which was frankly horrific. A really artful and boundary-pushing jam entry. Amazing work; please keep making games!
A really strong game aesthetically. The mood set by the game was incredible, with the music, visuals and satisfying "floaty" controls lending to the forlorn feeling of travelling across and alien planet just to deliver some mail. The text was well written, and the green gates were a nice addition to keep me on track whilst still leaving me the room to break off the set path. This could be expanded into a full release, which I mean with high compliments! Great work, and please keep making games!
Gosh, I would absolutely love to play this game but I think I'm going to need to watch a friend play it haha! My tolerance for horror is super low and this game would likely kill me... Great job with the trailer in spooking me out ;)
A really nice little entry. The art really lent itself to the vibe of travelling through someone's organs, which is a kinda gross sentence to type out haha. It was quick to jump into and start blasting stuff. Great job!
Great job on the entry! I would love to see the game expanded even further so we get to play the part after we get the 10 apples! Good work and keep making games!
There's some cool art in here for sure! The character design is fun and the world was bright. I struggled to figure out how to deliver the packages, but honestly just had fun flinging the car off the pavement at max speed haha.
A really solid entry! I loved the animations and art style, it was incredibly cohesive. The gameplay was simple and led to that "just one more run" feeling. I found the distance between the employees needing packages got a little too extreme the further in you got, but that added to the challenge! This reminded me a lot of the google chrome "no connection" dino game in how addictive the game was, so a really great job well done on this. Keep making games!
A really awesome entry! This was the strongest "mood" game I've played this entire Ludum Dare. The story was really strong in this game; it's rare to see a game jam game tackle human issues such as "coping mechanisms", and I really appreciated how much that made this game stand out. A great job with the artwork and character building. Amazing work, please keep making games!
A pretty intense simple little game! I played the Ludum Dare version where traffic cones were prone to spawning right in front of you, so I was always on my toes. ;) Great job and keep making games!
A nice and cohesive idea for only 3 days! I appreciated the attention to visuals and sound, it was a nice experience. I ended up losing lives by back tracking to islands I had just fallen off, but that's more me being dumb haha. A really nice concept with the timer for the platforming sections being driven by the boat moving along. A cool game, great job!
Some very nice animations, very impressive! I really wanted to throw the bombs from the birds at the air balloons, maybe that could be a stretch goal for the game? ;) A really nice looking entry, great job!
I got to admit I didn't quite understand what was going on, but I enjoyed getting my mouse slapped around by the cool enemy attacks! Great job!
This is an interesting idea for the theme! I would love to see this developed further. One thing I struggled with the game though is the instant transition to the bullet-hell mode. Most playthroughs I would die immediately as the mode started! It would be nice if the transition was a bit smoother for players like me. :) A good entry, keep making games!
This is a fantastic idea! It's a great game because you already know how to play a platformer and Tetris. You just have to put the two together! The only thing I'd like to see changed is the delay between a block hitting the ground and it materialising. I died a lot by having the block spawn on me when I was trying to jump onto it (too early) as it spawned! This is overall a great game, keep making them!
This is a great entry for the compo! As other commenters are saying it would be great to see yourself having to survive the onslaught of the zombies rather than them just being walking letters! Personally my favourite part of the game was the slow pan-out of the camera as the words got more complicated. A really nice touch! Good job, keep making games!
A really fantastic game! I got so hooked on this... I was eventually getting so much money that I could buy one of the U turrets every second. The game lagged to hell soon after haha. A really fantastic game, I would have loved to have seen some kind of end goal for winning the game. Perhaps a super expensive turret that acts as the win condition. I can't wait to see what you make next jam!
Good job with the entry! The game was a bit intensive for HTML 5, so maybe keep that in mind for next LD! Some extra feedback on who's turn it is, and which gorilla is which in the "banana-cam" would be a great addition to the game. The graphics were great for a game jam entry, and the gorilla reminded me of retro sock puppets! Keep making games!
This is incredible! The whole game feels so polished. It took me a couple of attempts to realise that you get more turrets for each wave cleared. I love the music that gets made from just focusing on building a good maze! This is such a good crossover, you don't even realise you're making music until you hear it during the next wave. The only change that I would like to see is having the "enemies passed" counter decrease for each successful wave you complete. A really great game!
Wow, this is so simple in such a great way. It's so nice to pick up a game and play it straight away! I love the balancing act you need to perform to have the right cards ready for the obstacles. It really makes it tense. My high score was only 15! I couldn't figure out how to get past the bats. That's one pretty big improvement that could be made to the game: on-screen prompts that show you how to get past obstacles the first time you encounter them in a play session.
Good job and keep making games!
A great entry! I really do love the first time the fists burst out of the rocket. The UFOs were really tough to beat, but punching missiles into them to destroy them was great! At least I hope that was a mechanic, because that's what I was having fun doing haha. Keep making games!
A nice little polished game for the game jam. Nice job with the sfx and shuffling effects! I fell through a big hole and got sad haha, it would be cool to see some unique cards added to the game such as time-rewind. A great job, keep making games!
Good job on the submission! The animations for the characters were impressive for a game jam game. I got a score of 11955, though I did spam as many soldiers as I could to see if I could break the game. ;) It would be great to see your high-score stored so that you can play against yourself! Keep making games!
If you make this into a trilogy in the future it would be great to see some interaction! You have a nice writing style, can't wait to play through a text adventure of yours in the future. :)
A really great concept! The amount of cards was a bit overwhelming at first. Perhaps a Hearthstone style choose 1 out of 3 would be a way to get newer players into the game. :) The controls for driving were a little finicky, it would be great to see it polished up for the future! A great job, keep making games!
You definitely nailed the theme here! I ended up in hell with a part-time job. I think that means I win? Haha, good take on the theme for sure. I don't know have any improvements to suggest as the game is based around being awkward! Good job on achieving that!
A nice entry! I enjoyed the use of the friends by using them to cross spikes. Trying to time your movement across the thwomp-like spikes was satisfying when you have to double-back on yourself to get them to line up. I'd love to see this developed further! Keep making games! (And with my rating you are now out of the danger zone and you have 20 ratings ;) )
I see you chose to do "inconvenient super powers" instead! Good job on the submission. It would be interesting to perhaps use the environment to be able to alter the player temperature. Perhaps staying too long in the sun means you have to run through the river to cool off? That kind of stuff would be great to see if you develop this further!
Great job on the submission! Having to juggle mobility with fighting off enemies is a really great idea! Having a shortcut through a path is great, but are there enemies that are sneaking up on you? I really like that you have to question that as you play. I'd like to see a bit snappier movement, so less acceleration time when you're trying to get out of the way of a big herd of enemies. I love the colourful visuals, keep at it!
A really nice idea! A good fit for the theme. It would be great to see this expanded on further, maybe with a 2-player mode! I found it a little difficult to track where the ball would be after all my team had moved, but that's where the skill for the game comes into play! A nice solid title for LD. Keep making games!
This is a fantastic game! A really good entry for a game jam. The two genres actually worked really well together, good job! I didn't manage to make it to the end because of those dastardly skeletons. I found it really hard to get past them! I'd love to see this expanded on further, perhaps with some platforming elements. Really, an amazing entry, keep making games!
Jeeeeeeeeez loooooouise I scare easily and this game got to me! I could only play a few times before I couldn't take it any more! I'm not sure how scary this game was meant to be, but the mood of this game was really strong! A good entry, keep making games!
A very atmospheric game. The first time a zombie ran up to me I jumped out of my skin! I'd work on fixing the frame-rate dependent control problems that it sounds like you're having. Just make sure you're using delta time (the time between frames) to calculate your car speeds etc.! A good submission, keep making games!
@RAFFE Ooh, that's a good point. I'll try and cut it down and provide it as a secondary download on the itch.io page. Thanks!
@RAFFE I've added a slim-build to the itch.io page. I've added a disclaimer to the top that it was added after submission, and if internet speed isn't a problem then to download the original. :)
@Sky Thanks for the feedback! That different coloured card-backs is a great idea. I intentionally made the player have to pick up boost cards that they've played to reinforce the idea that this is a card-game player that's been thrust onto the board with their cards. None of the cards directly affect the player without being played first. Reusing some of the same images for boost cards and monster cards definitely doesn't help with flinging away useful cards!
@InventorOfStuff Thanks for the feedback! I really wish I'd named the enemy "Bomb with Legs" now, hahaha.
@superpokeunicorn the scroll wheel idea is brilliant, thanks! @Adam-Wallberg you both mentioned the look of the arena, I'd really like to focus on making a more interesting environment if I was to work on this further. I may even toy with making an obstacle course that you have to fight your way through. @vilix64 yeah, the file size was waaaay too big when I first uploaded it. The slimmed down build is available for download but it still takes up a bunch of space. You're right about the overhead, I guess I just need to add a bunch of cards to make the files size worth it haha.
@RockhopperGames There are a few specific bugs that I want to address post-competition in a few weeks. And the moths escaping the arena is one of them! There's just the tiniest gap in the ceiling that the moths can do a collision test through, and then they just up and leave the arena. It's game breaking and I look forward to fixing it! Thanks for bug testing my game haha!
The music in this game is just INCREDIBLE. It's a nice package of a game. A balancing act to keeping your cat happy whilst also avoiding those damn cucumbers. It would be great to see the addition of a timer or score to get that "one more game" feeling. I don't know if it's just me, but this game gets so hard at about a minute in!
Good job on the submission! You seemed to have pulled off what you set out to do. :) One small change that could make the player's life a bit easier is to have the health/repair kits be a different colour from blue. It makes it hard to see them amongst the hordes of zombies, especially when shooting around with the nitro! I look forward to your future entries.
A really great entry! The simple twist on breakout and solid graphics for a game jam game really stood out to me. I lost on the third level to the last tiny goblin that got past... those damn shield goblins kept tricking me into shooting my ball off screen haha. A really good game, I got hooked on it. Please develop this further with crazy skill trees and more enemies!
Good job with the entry! I really liked the contrast of the petting sim being offset by the depressing thoughts. I love a bit of melancholy. I'd really like to see this developed further. When I played it was possible to shoot the hand straight for the cat and guarantee a win! Keep making games!
This is interesting! I'd love to see this developed further. :) I got stuck at the "extra power" round with the upgraded Darth Tater. This game gets hard! It would be cool to see some audio added, and I'd like the game to be a little easier for players like me. ;)
This is a great concept! I don't know the rules of baseball being British, so it took some time for me to pick them up. ;) I'd love to see this polished up to eliminate some of the bugs. One of my batters ran to first base, and the batter before them was able to run around the rest of the pitch without anyone trying to get them out. Then it said that a decision was needed and the turn never ended! The visuals are great for a game jam, and I really think you should do a post-jam version of the game with those few bugs ironed out. Keep making games, great job!
A really interesting idea! I especially loved the multiple pinball screens. It would be a great addition to know which level you are on, so that you can avoid losing by mistake. I'd like for the enemy spawns to scale a bit slower, so that you have a chance to attack them little by little before the levels get too cluttered with enemies! Good job, keep making games!
Here's my sick critique, broooooo!
It's got a great visual style for a game jam game! I did laugh to myself quite a bit when hearing the ever-so-deep critiques of the modern art. I had fun with the first few pieces, but the ones where the colours switched around were impossible for me! It could be that my brain is just scrambled from the compo this weekend. I did love the hidden level from the gallery; that would be a great challenge if I was up to it.
An interesting idea! It would be great to see this developed further. Perhaps the player could start off in really well-stocked kitchen. I struggled to find a lot of the recipes, so having a cookbook or posters in the kitchen or hidden around the world would be a fun addition that rewards exploring. :) Good job, keep making games!
An interesting concept, though it could have been expanded further by perhaps having multiple choice options with the logs. Many different genres have stories in them! The game got pretty confusing in the 3rd maze, so perhaps making it a little easier for players to find there way around, or adding enemies for the player to fight could make it more interesting. Good job on the entry, keep making games!
It took me backing out to the main menu several times til I figured out the controls! It was a really nice concept once I knew what I was doing. I managed to destroy the castle, I was happy to finally bash through the enemy lines with my army of robots. It would be amazing to see this game developed further! It's a great expansion on the tower defence genre; having to control your own minions to push back enemy attacks. Great job, keep making games!
I'm not gonna lie, the music change and sudden switch to darkness in the 3D section made me terrified haha. Doesn't help that I'm playing this at 4am! The night-time section was very atmospheric, I love it! I'd love the see the 2D and 3D sections mixed together more. Maybe having to use the 3D mode to get past obstacles like in Fez or Paper Mario. Good job, keep making games!
This is an interesting idea! Like other commenters, I'd like to see the speed boost be more helpful! Perhaps the level layouts could be more like race tracks than mazes. As a British person I didn't get some of the questions that were being asked! But I really enjoyed having to juggle the two sides of the game at once. Great job!
This is really nicely done for a game jam game! This is one of the first games I've played that actually mashes together two contrasting genres. You want to spend a lot of time building the perfect vehicle, but then you get completely overwhelmed by the oncoming red wall. You really have to think fast when playing this game! Editing your vehicle on the fly is a really cool idea. You should develop this further!
If you're looking for bugs to fix, then one that I came across is that the vehicle gets scrambled when you enter build mode on a not-so-flat surface. Oh, and if you want to get people to reply to your comments then make sure to tag them like this @Untitled-Studios :)
I agree, the first level is actually one of the hardest! Music was great, good job! It would feel more fair if the player had a wider view of the upcoming platforms. Jumping to the beat is good, but you can't predict how long or high a jump needs to be ahead of time! Great job on the submission, keep making games.
I had the most fun listening to midi files of music tracks I had made in the past! This game has a lot of potential, I'd love to see it developed further. When you boost to get the score multiplier, I'm unsure about how this effects the music/landscape generation. It just seems to speed up the player! Overall, a nice project. Keep making games!
WOW, this game is hard haha. The art and sound is really well polished! Took me several attempts to figure out that I should get out of the way of the missile barrages rather than try and shoot them down. ;) A really good submissions, just maybe tone down the difficulty curve a little for players like me! Keep making games!
This really fulfilled the theme better than a lot of games I've seen this LD Jam! A really great entry. I found it tough to distinguish between the second and third options you had as balls once they were jumping around on screen. More on screen prompts or feedback could really help polish this title up. Good job, keep making games!
An interesting concept, it would be great to see it developed further. I'd love to see the tower-defence side of it added to. Having to juggle between fighting off bad vibes whilst keeping up conversation would be a really fun game!
This could be a really fun game with some extra work put into the race track! I'd love to see curved roads, or at least only get slowed down by hitting walls rather than reset. I imagine that would make the game too easy though! Strangely enough it was easier to keep the car moving at full speed at all times, stopping and starting lurches the car forward and you end up off the road! Good job with your entry, keep making games!
This scratched a puzzle-solving itch that I didn't realise I had! This is a really solid foundation for a fun game. The timing mechanics of the bombs could see some really complicated level design. Add some sound and more levels and this could be called a full game!
Ctrl + C, Ctrl + V is the name of the game. ;) It's a nice minimal concept, but I would have loved to have seen more interactions for the player. Perhaps you catch a shark every now and then and you have to type a specific phrase/number to survive/not lose money? Good job with the submission, I look forward to seeing more from you in the future!
I got 725 for my top score! My game was very similar to this, though in 3D! I was playing in a much slower-paced fashion cause of my game, then I realised you can play cards very VERY quickly. It was really fun cutting through waves of enemies shooting out your cards like a mini-gun. The difficulty curve was quite severe once you reached round 3/4, I'd love to see more use of formations of enemies. So one wave could be a triangle of the fast red enemies that you have to attack tactically. Really, a great entry. Keep making games!
A really nice idea! Would love to see this with more tracks and levels. I especially love the arrangements of the enemies when they move in unison! I personally found it quite difficult to move to the beat, may a difficult setting could increase the time you have to hit each beat. I got caught in the 3rd level by a card who saw me through another guard! It was impossible to avoid them because of the way the guards are set-up opposite each other. A great entry, would love to see it developed more.
Good job on the entry! I honestly found the best tactic was to just sprint through the level and avoid enemies. it would be great to see this expanded with different enemies (weapons) and perhaps some different environments to provide more risk/reward options for the player. Having to really think about cover and movement and the payoffs of both would be great. Keep making games!
I'd love to see this further developed with rhythm-based interactions! Perhaps using moves at certain times according to the beat of the music would boost their power? A good submission for the game jam, good job!
This is an interesting idea and I'd love to see it developed further. The concept of making different upgrades that you then have to juggle around to maximise your starts is cool! I got to the end of the first level and the game just ended. Have more enemies spawn in over time! Good job with the entry!
Good job on your first Ludum Dare! The "account login" to start the game gave me a chuckle. It's nicely polished for a simple game. It would be great to see you expand upon it in the future. :) I honestly found it pretty hard, I felt like I wanted to move faster to be able to kite the other players into a group to smack away at them!
Edit: And make sure to include your source code for the compo entry!
This game has an incredible amount of polish for a game jam submission. It really gives me some "Undertale" vibes with the sound and projectile-like movement of the keys. But my goodness, this game is hard. I get about 3 words in and then it's just impossible to hit the right keys! I'd love to see a difficulty setting, or a smoother difficulty ramp as you play through the game. Really fantastic presentation, I've rated this highly!
A nice idea! It would be great to see this expanded upon further. I found that I was stuck in a loop of the different pieces of the level, and I never figured out how to get past the locked door. Update this further and update this page past LD! Good job, keep making games!
A good take on the theme! I found it pretty tense having to boost my jump whilst also spinning the pendulum to slow the fire. I kinda want to see a version where each can be controlled at once with a keyboard. So you have to multitask the 3 tasks at once rather than one at a time! A great submission, keep making games!
The minimal art style made me really happy! I'd love to see this developed further. But for players like me, maybe the jumps could be made a little less tight? Haha. I see in one of the comments here that enemy health doesn't reset if you get beaten in a fight. That's good news, because being sent back to a checkpoint (with really hard jumps) after losing a fight is what made me quit the game! Overall a great job, keep making games!
Well, this is a cute game! It would be great to see this expanded further, with sound and minigames added. I really want to play with my cacodemon!
Good job on the entry! I was honestly expecting to be attack by zombies whilst playing mini-golf, I would love to see that if you plan on working on this post-LD. It was really difficult to pot the ball because the ball was always smacked away at full speed! It would be great to see a power meter used too. The use of colour in this game was great. Keep making games!
Edit: I see in one of the comments that you can right click to putt the ball. It would be awesome to see that written in game!
