Pretty cool idea, nice game overall. Good job.

shardykins 2020-04-21 19:10

Interesting concept but definitely needed some more gameplay options, and some risk/reward choices. It seemed like any time I clicked my popularity would always go up so there wasn't much to think about.

maaxoom 2020-04-21 19:12

I really like the idea and the setting. I could only reach 80% though.

jasonsumm1 2020-04-21 19:15

I really like the idea. like something from Pixar. Good job :)

blaster391 2020-04-21 19:16

I like the idea! I'd like to see it expanded on to add move gameplay and a bit more challenge (that said, reaching 90% seems really hard, but losing also seems impossible)

lepton 2020-04-21 19:20

Okay, its a nice idea and it works. But it took to long to win the game and it was not very challenging.

shigure 2020-04-21 19:20

Really like the concept of the rumors spreading. Sadly, there really isn't any gameplay besides clicking and hoping the people will take a path that allows them to spread the rumors. A lot of them where kind of stuck in a loop around a block. Cool idea, but not optimally executed.

Cool idea. I found myself spaming the mouse button.

I always appreciate a web build! A really cool idea and I'd love to see it developed further. :) The idea of mythical monsters getting with the times and having to get an online presence is really funny.

Being able to move around the map to appear would have been an extra element to the gameplay, and perhaps there could have been park rangers that will attack you if you appear in front of them. A couple of small additions like this could make it into an even cooler game!

Great job on the entry and keep making games!

Nice simple game to unwind with. I think the graphics in the main game could be improved though.

blackquiltro 2020-04-21 19:26

Nice idea, very original and good fit of the theme. For me, getting above 80% was easy, but could not reach 90%. Seemed that i was never able to convert the remaining people fast enough before popularity got down.

godsboss 2020-04-21 19:51

Despite similary looks, Jetty is now more popular than I have ever been. The last few percent are tough, I scratched 90% multiple times before reaching it.

Thanks all of you for your feedback! I will do some improvements and release a post-JAM version with some features and ideas that couldn't be implemented on time for the game jam delivery.

makiyoshi 2020-04-21 19:59

I really liked the concept of the game, it's very creative and humorous. :) I thought the gameplay was creative as well, but it got a little tiring towards the end (popularity 80%+), I couldn't understand exactly how the popularity was behaving at this point, lol. I missed a little variety through the progression of the game and also some sound effects. But as I said, the concept and theme was very fun, congrats!

Hi all! Again, thanks for all your support and comments. I released a new version of Trending Beasts with some improvements. If you wish to give it a new try, you can find the HTML5 version here: https://siulerlm.itch.io/trending-beasts-after-jam-version

Thanks a lot!

Great job!

The idea is really good and very well executed. I love the visuals, and seeing those small people move is very satisfying.

Towards the end, it gets really tiring very fast. Maybe the win condition should be lowered for a simple fix, or think of something smarter to keep it interesting past the cool mechanic discovery and awesome art.

Thanks for the game :snowman:
