It's a little rediculous that the center fielder can throw me out at first, but other than that pretty fun little game.

Great game, although a bit buggy.

Interesting mechanic ! I almost did a grand chelem ! I think there is a small bug: when you have a player about to arrive at the 2nd base, if the one on the first base is out, the one on the 2nd will go back to the 1st base. Aside from that, it is quite fun and the difficulty level is just perfect.

Good job !

@lavwa Yes, that is definitely a broken system :grimacing:, should be an easy fix if I continue development. Thank you and everyone for the feedback :grinning:

Cool game ! I did not understand all the mechanics (because I am not a big fan of the baseball ^^') but after few games, the goal was clearer ! The game fits the theme well too. It lacks music though.

Cool overall game :) Keep coding :)

i loved this game. great job!

I really liked the intention of this entry, but as you're aware, there are a number of bugs that are fairly frustrating to play around. More attention to the setting, layout, and sound would have been nice as well. Overall, I liked the idea and found it fun when it worked, but sometimes that time limit has a way of sneaking up on you.

EDIT: To see my live thoughts, check out this recording of the livestream [here](https://www.twitch.tv/videos/253875862).

What a great idea! One suggestion I could make is that you need the camera to follow the ball and also jump to where the decision is needed so the player doesn't have to move the camera manually. If you did this, it would make the game 10x better, and a LOT of fun. I'm already impressed. One other suggestion, the icon that indicates to press the Space Bar to advance isn't very obvious. Perhaps when there is no decision to be made, it should just advance on its own automatically, or if not then make the icon *say* or something so that you can tell what it is. It took me a minute.

I probably would have started better if I knew the first thing about baseball (okay, the third thing, I know the first two things are that it involves bases and balls, I guess that's what I get for being Australian), but after a couple of games I got a pretty good grasp of what I was doing. There's just a couple of minor things I'd change - I'd make it so there's a way to advance turns using the mouse, so I don't have to keep switching between the mouse and keyboard, and I found the timing bar for the swing seemed a bit sensitive, and also seemed to be a bit out of place in a turned based game to rely on exact timing - one idea I thought of is maybe have buttons for a few different swing types with % chance of success (so a better hit is harder to do, depending on how well the pitcher throws it?).

But other than those I had a lot of fun playing a few games once I figured out what I was doing.

Interesting mechanic! was sometimes hard to judge if a ball was picked up already or on the ground. The decision points were tactical at times. Got stuck once with a 'decision needed' when there was no decision, but fine up to there. :)

Love the concept! I too made a turn-based sports game if you're interested in checking it out: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/blipblapball

I really like the baseball engine that you made. I feel like the turn based gameplay lends itself really well to baseball gameplay, so this game works really well. I had fun playing and it was pretty challenging to score. Kinda cool to play baseball in short little steps like this as opposed to realtime. I think your graphics look really nice! Congratulations on making a complete game in 48 hours.

ajay-2002 2018-05-15 07:48

Haha this was actually really fun, good concept and unique mechanics, loved it!!

steve-sparkes 2018-05-15 12:59

This is a great concept! I don't know the rules of baseball being British, so it took some time for me to pick them up. ;) I'd love to see this polished up to eliminate some of the bugs. One of my batters ran to first base, and the batter before them was able to run around the rest of the pitch without anyone trying to get them out. Then it said that a decision was needed and the turn never ended! The visuals are great for a game jam, and I really think you should do a post-jam version of the game with those few bugs ironed out. Keep making games, great job!

The itch.io app claims that your game is not supported on windows. You may want to look at how it's packaged. That might be why you are having trouble getting enough ratings.

blueman 2018-05-15 19:26

@archimagus Hmm . I downloaded just fine and you're the first to mention this, strange.

archimagus 2018-05-15 19:31

My work computer flags the download as unusual and deletes it for some reason. And the itch.io installer app claims it's not supported in windows. Not sure what to tell you.

Hard for me to rate on audio when I did not get any while playing the game. Still, I went ahead and voted on all the categories to the best of my abilities based on my experience. The games reminds me of a NES game with turnbased mechanics which works well.
