Wow - this is really well done. I love the combination of genres and the particle effects were amazing. The audio was probably my only complaint, I would love the explosions and bullets to have more "oomph". great game thank you.
Genuinely enjoyed this game a lot. Mechanics felt very fresh, even if they weren't quite what you intended. Plus the whole experience was very slick and well presented. Good job.
I really enjoyed your game! It's super fun, it felt polished, and the controls were good. I also really enjoyed the graphics. I especially loved that I could set up a bunch of (T) towers with a (C) to have them automatically mine for me. Seemed like really cool emergent gameplay that gave me a very satisfying "aha" moment.
As one comment, I did find the mechanic where I lost lots of coins on getting hit a little frustrating. I would maybe have preferred something like in the old sonic games where coins get ejected from my body when I get hit and I have a limited amount of time to retrieve them. I also wasn't sure about the prices for the different buildings. Do I ever need to build the more expensive ones?
Wow, this was a good one! I enjoyed ducking and dodging about, luring enemies into my towers whilst trying not to get killed myself. You did a great job combining the two genres and turning them into a fun play experience. So far, this is my favorite game yet!
Ohh this plays really well. Got a bit laggy by the time I filled up most of the map with mostly T and C and the occasional of the other 2 things where I'm not quite sure what they do, but put them anyway for good measure.
Fun stuff.
Looks great and plays even better!
I really enjoyed this game. The graphics were simple but effective. The sound effects got a bit monotonous/repetitive after a bit though. The early game was an interesting dodge-em-up with {T}s, then once I started getting more {C}s it became an idle game. Then once I got a {U} it was all over.
I would've liked to know what the {X} and {U} were going to do before I placed them, but all in all a very solid entry.
This kept me up way past my bed time :) so much fun. Very well done ! and only 506kb :0 amazing
this is a really great game. with some more automation stuff and enemy types this could be an even better game. nice job!!
Just wow, does not just look great on first look but most of all it is unbelievable fun to play. Definitely my favourite little-big entry so far.
Super interesting gameplay. The story didn't quite make sense with the gameplay since it seemed it was more about building a machine to harvest money than to clear out the spiky invaders (since you could make them spawn faster with one of the buildings it seemed). Still the core gameplay was super fun. Great job!
I got pretty sucked into this. There was a fantastic progression from start to the "end", where you feel so weak at the start, but by the end the entire game map is covered in turrets and you literally don't even get a chance to see the enemies before they just turn straight into $$$. I would definitely love to see this expanded upon!
Interesting game. Though the difference between gettin hit and dodging is a bit... bulurry. I mean it feelsa a bit random when a maneuver that was all goot 10 times before results in a hit...
But being hit is not too harsh as you recover shortly after...
And some hint on what do turrets 3 and 4 do woulb be really nice...
I loved it! We had the same idea, but executed it completely different. What I most liked about your game is that you can control it very easily with the mouse which makes it possible to get away from almost impossible situations. The game looks really good as well. The only complaint that I have is that I couldn't figure out what the number 3 building did, and never managed to make the 4th building. I also didn't know how to win the game?
If you have some time, please take a look at my game, they are similar. https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/last-stand
Really interesting and fun. I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this. It's a game that expects both methodical planning and twitch reflexes, though fortunately it gives a lot of leeway. The sounds have understated weight to them and the graphics are clean, if minimalist. I found the mouse control a little sluggish, like my sensitivity was being held back. I liked how I was able to sort of 'conquer' areas of the map by dashing behind enemy lines leaving a wake of turrets. Good work!
Really fun and engaging! I really got into the feedback loop of collecting, baiting, building. I really enjoyed this and would definitely pay for a full-fledged, polished version of this!
A really fantastic game! I got so hooked on this... I was eventually getting so much money that I could buy one of the U turrets every second. The game lagged to hell soon after haha. A really fantastic game, I would have loved to have seen some kind of end goal for winning the game. Perhaps a super expensive turret that acts as the win condition. I can't wait to see what you make next jam!
OMG. This is impressive. I better stop playing now. It's too addicting!! Imagine if it has some electronic music too. Would love this on my Android.
Thanks for all the kind words everyone, wish I'd been able to devote a little more time to the game over the compo weekend to flesh it out a little more.
@schsam Funnily enough it does use a sonic rings mechanic! I just limited it to only a few coins to act as a buffer for players who are early in the game- the reason I capped it was because later in the game it made hitting things a little too trivial to recover from, but in hindsight perhaps a different penalty for that would have been better...
@iak I never actually intend players to fill up the screen with stuff! The {U} was supposed to be a game ender- it massively increases the enemy spawn rate (and slightly improves all of your own turrets too), I was hoping for people to go out in a blaze of glory at the end after they put {U} down... Sadly I miss balanced it and you don't really notice much difference :)
@notgreat I was intentionally trying to making things a little cryptic as that's one of the staples of idle clickers- you don't always know why stuff is good for you until you've made a few- but the {X} did need a better visual to help clue players in on what was happening, I think if it had drawn some particles between the {X} and the hive it was affecting that probably would have made it a little more obvious...
@piscythe Yeah, I should have added a sensitivity slider, didn't think about it until after the compo though :(
@steve-sparkes Haha, the {U}s were supposed to be that game ending turret! Sadly I erred on the side of caution and didn't make it aggressive enough...
i like the way you make the game and the way to play, maybe i will try your game if it is good i will recommend to my friends you can give me suggestions about my [rolling ball 3d](https://rollingball3d.com) you try it and see if it's ok and need to fix anything
