Fun game! I like the overall idea. I think it could be a bit harder (or maybe the blue cubes could be less strong)?

I really liked your game! At first I thought it was too easy, but the difficulty definitely ramped up. The sounds / music were on point. I feel like one gameplay tweak that I'd be curious about would be if you / the enemies couldn't change the color of squares once they have already been colored.
I think the link may be broken!
@evanm That's all part of it :P! Jk, thanks for letting me know. It's been a tricky issue to track down. For now there's a fix to stop the raft from completely exploding, so it just gets jiggly.
@dk5000p Thanks for the play through! I totally agree with all of your comments. At the end of the day it was mostly a time thing. I had DEFINITELY thought about doing some kind of swimming underwater / drain type thing. It would be sick, maybe for LD43 :).
Super fun game! I think the idea is great, good take on the theme, and well implemented. I like the interplay between object size and reward. I wish the game were longer / harder! I never really had to make any tough decisions during my play though.
I thoroughly enjoyed your game! Super fun, and a clever interpretation of the theme. The core loop felt really nicely implemented and polished. My only complaint, maybe, is that sometimes at the very end of a level a bunch of enemies would spawn without enough time to kill them. However, this might also be because I need to get better and save up rockets and stuff.
Great little game! I think the mechanic (with dropping the guys off on larger icebergs) was great. I would have played more levels if you had made them!
Really fun game! Super impressive amount of content that you were able to implement. I think maybe tuning up how responsive your ship felt might have made it slightly more fun. Also, tell people at the beginning that middle button restarts, maybe. I messed up my first play through that way. Love the sounds / gfx.
@allan-kong Ooh! I didn't realize I had gone to the next level! I think I had killed like 50 enemies in the first level then, lots of overkill so to speak. Thanks for the clarification :). Btw, I also made (much worse) games when I was 13... You're totally killing it! Great job.
Overall I really liked the game! Nice take on the binding of isaac style. I liked the shooting mechanic, the rooms, and monsters. Wish there was some kind of boss. Graphics were excellent. My favorite room was the one where the floor was divided into four pieces that ignited separately. Didn't exactly understand the theme (sounds like you weren't crazy about it :P).
Great graphics! I'm amazed by how much content you got in there and a cute mechanic. Really pleasant experience. I wish there were a few more guys to kill, since the brief experience I had was fun.
One weird thing I noticed. After you cross the bridge if the guy steals one of your animals but you kill him before he puts the cow in the fence then any additional animals you have follow you will just sit next to the stolen animal. Not game breaking, since you can still use them to do stuff but thought I'd point it out.
I think this is my favorite game that I've played so far. Super nice vibe, fun fighting, great controls, beautiful, and dope music.
I really liked how the controls felt, and the game looks really good! Felt very polished. My only complaint was that if I went quite slowly it wasn't so hard. Maybe introducing a mechanic to force me to rush would have made it more action packed.
I also had a great time playing this game. Honestly, I wasn't sure what to think from the screenshots (I was slightly skeptical) however, as soon as I started playing I totally "got it". Really fun. I loved the sound effects. This made me want to play incredible machine!
@764hotshot It should be fixed :)!
@rsim Out of curiosity were you playing on the webGL version or the windows version? Thanks for letting me know :).
@rsim I just uploaded a fix that *should* improve performance. Thanks for the heads up!
I really liked this game! I loved the hand drawn graphics, I think they worked really well. I thought the idea of trying to figure out which town had the most money was a clever way to make the mechanic into a game. It might have been slightly better if there were more towns so that it was harder to figure out. Overall, though, I liked it a lot!
I really liked it overall! Loved the puzzles (especially the one where you put down a block and then shoot the guy through the tunnel). The music was fantastic. I wasn't crazy about the controls (kept pressing the wrong button). Also the aiming didn't seem to really serve a purpose. I thought compared with the rest of the puzzles, the "boss" where you have to deposit 20 coins was a little tedious but i may have just found an exploit.
Amazing amount done in 48hrs!
I loved the graphics and it played very well! I wonder whether I was missing something though. Am I supposed to do anything with the symbol at the center? Otherwise I was just killin slimes like it was my job. Very pleasant game. Not totally sure how it related to the theme, but that's cool.
The game did crash at the end. I think it was after wave 5. Here's the error message that came up: ___________________________________________ ############################################################################################ FATAL ERROR in action number 1 of Step Event0 for object obj_enemy_slime_blue:
Unable to find any instance for object index '12' name 'obj_enemy_slime_blue' at gml_Script_scr_enemy_attack_state2 ############################################################################################ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- stack frame is gml_Script_scr_enemy_attack_state2 (line 0) gml_Object_obj_enemy_slime_blue_Step_0
Amazing game! I thought everything from the graphics to the sound to the UI to the pacing / evolution was awesome. If I had one piece of constructive feedback it would be that it wasn't immediately obvious to me how to tie my shoes. I thought I had to press a button when the process bar was over the center (as like a timing minigame). Perhaps having a different graphic would avoid the confusion?
Have to say though, that ending came out of no where. I loved it, but it came out of no where.
Really fun game! I love the setting (space + quests + fighting) and the idea of having a cargo ship to defend was great. FYI it crashed after the first quest on the WebGL client for me. One thing that would have made it more fun, for me, would be if the ship had some momentum so that it would fly around more physically.
I had a lot of fun playing this game! As some people have said, I think there are a few places where the gameplay could have been smoothed out (for example some of the world boundaries were kind of tight so you'd like if you jumped too high). But that didn't stop me from enjoying the platforming and beating it.
I wish there had been more use of the running aroudn the side of platforms mechanic since I thought it was pretty fun but I only got to use it once.
That was super awesome! The graphics were excellent, especially the 2-d world. Very innovative. While I think the controls could be improved (and the camera was awkward at times), I would definitely have played a full game with this idea.
Super fun game, I really liked the feel and the controls. Excellent graphics, also. One comment: I wasn't really sure what the arrow was supposed to be doing at first. It took me a little while to realize that it indicated where on the outer circle to go. Maybe make it a bit more clear?
Thanks for playing @zwodahs, Glad you had fun! You're right, I had forgotten to plug in the final screen. Fixed!
Awesome, thanks for the helpful comments all! :)
@cyborg-studio there is audio in the desktop version, but it doesn't seem to play with WebGL. I'll look into it! Thanks for letting me know.
@tjm Yes! I really wanted to add an undo button, but didn't have time. Great suggestion. Also, you're right about Cylinder-3, I'll fix it and reupload later.
@recher Thanks, I'm glad your kid liked it too; Klein bottles are crazy! And yes, the hole as a little bit of a joke to trap you in a loop within a loop. Sorry you got tricked :P!
Fun game. I liked the graphics as well as how hard it was. Having it take place in a persistent world was very innovative. I think the controls could have been better (although that could be to do with my keyboard format). Also, I wish the interaction with other players had been a bit less brutal maybe. SOmetimes it felt like I _had_ to die a bunch of times to get to the goal.
I liked this game a lot! I thought the mechanic was fun and the controls were really good. Two suggestions: 1) it would have helped me enjoy blowing up the enemies to have some particle effects / explosions 2) I didn't love how after a ship died I didn't have to press that button anymore (at the very end it became more like a typical shooter).
Fun game! I like how many levels there were and how simple but effective the ruleset was. If you were going to continue working on it, maybe one could make the motion smoother, but overall really liked it!
Fun game! I liked the idea that you have to face in the direction of shooting. Added a nice mechanic. There seems to be a bug where once you die, if you press "1" it doesn't resurrect you so you are immediately dead.
Hm didn't totally understand! I think when I tried to eat flies I kept dying. Am I doing something wrong; down to try again later.
Also, qq, any chance you could add W to jump as well as space. Easier for some keyboards.
Really nice game. I enjoyed the mechanic of controlling my boys a lot. A little confused as to why we have to deliver the orbs. Great job!
Awesome! Love the idea and the polish / attention to detail (shattering glass was great). Blowing up enemies felt impactful and fun. One minor point, I wish the camera had followed the ship a little more tightly. I often, especially when descending, couldn't see what was below me until it was too late. But I would play more of this game.
I really enjoyed your game! It's super fun, it felt polished, and the controls were good. I also really enjoyed the graphics. I especially loved that I could set up a bunch of (T) towers with a (C) to have them automatically mine for me. Seemed like really cool emergent gameplay that gave me a very satisfying "aha" moment.
As one comment, I did find the mechanic where I lost lots of coins on getting hit a little frustrating. I would maybe have preferred something like in the old sonic games where coins get ejected from my body when I get hit and I have a limited amount of time to retrieve them. I also wasn't sure about the prices for the different buildings. Do I ever need to build the more expensive ones?
I really liked this game, but it was quite hard. I wasn't sure, is there a way to figure out which sentence gives which attribute?
Love the dialogue! Super funny and a nice idea. For me, with the xbox controller I couldn't shoot (only move). Really impressive amount of content!! It looks great!
@patvanmackelberg Oh nevermind! I restarted my computer and it worked. Very strange.
@patvanmackelberg Thanks! I've actually opened up your game a couple more times to see if how far I can get!
Awesome game! Great feel and super solid. I got stuck because the green guys make new invaders so quickly. I might have enjoyed it more if they took two turns instead of one to make a new invader.
This game was super fun and hectic! Extremely difficult though. I'm not sure whether that's a bad thing because it kept me coming back for more. Maybe making the thrust a little less aggressive?
I really liked this game! I thought the idea was great and I loved the graphics. If there were one thing to be improved, I would have loved to see some sort of way of scoring it to make it challenge!
I really enjoyed your game! I really liked how distinct the aesthetic was of the three different scenarios. In my view they go in a sequence. He has a crisis, does a bunch of drugs, ends up being messed up in a room and leaving. Also, of course the existential thoughts came along with walking on a treadmill! As in real life.
I loved this game! Such a fun mix of genres. The interface worked pretty well. Sometimes it wasn't totally clear which Potato I was slicing, but otherwise it was great.
Great idea to combine match-3 with arena fighter! Awesome work!!!
I really like your game! It feels super solid and fun. If I could change one thing, I would love it if the throw action was slightly more forceful. It kept me wanting to play more!
Super fun game! It felt super satisfying to hit enemies into one another. A mele sidescrolling space shooter is a great concept. I wish there were some visual indication when my ship got hit or died. It seemed like the points just reset.
I have to say that while this game may not be super approachable, I think it's amazing. My favorite game so far. The aesthetic is so clean. I love how the whole interface is typing.
Thanks All!! @recursiveanomaly I totally agree with you. I thought about that over the weekend, but couldn't think of a great solution.
Really liked the game overall. I think something extra might be needed to make the combat more fun. But I the combination of genres was fantastic.
