Really cool game, and impressive for a first gamejam!

mauricioscherer 2020-10-05 21:43

Nice game I liked the gameplay, remembers the game Carrion. Congratulations

botskills101 2020-10-05 21:43

its good

cyberfrank 2020-10-05 21:53

A lot of fun (although I mostly just slammed my way through the levels)! Boy the military got there quick! Good work!

nidrig 2020-10-05 22:04

Excellent game. Great artwork, great music, and an original idea. I especially enjoyed the macabre animation for when you kill people.

yellow-basti 2020-10-05 22:59

wtf... one of the most innovative games i played in this jam so far

christoph-kolb 2020-10-05 23:03

Incredible game. Cool artstyle, inventive mechanics, and the best theme song I've heard so far. Also great execution. Definitely one of the best games I've seen here so far.

mrmaico 2020-10-05 23:04

It took me a while to figure out what to do and I didn't finish it. But I was a great concept!!

div00 2020-10-05 23:06

Nice game, amazing music and artwork, and surprising mechanics.

shanzhai 2020-10-06 01:34

I hands down have no idea how to make this any better. A bloody brilliant game.

rolly 2020-10-06 14:07

That was really fun to play, good job ! I especially like your attention for detail ("muhaha I will break the game by over-feeding over 1000!" "mmh no ok they thought about it."). The visuals are really good and the music is fun and works correctly with the game.

The only thing I have more doubts of is the theme. Just to be sure, what is your take on it? Is it only for the story (grabby's stuck in the loop of doing the exact same thing everyday so it escapes) or is there something more that I missed?

smiley 2020-10-06 17:49

Nicely done. Grabby was a bit diffcult to move after breaking free. Music was funny but didn't loop :(

forgeronstudio 2020-10-06 17:49

This game is incredible! I can't believe you managed to pack so many features into it

js 2020-10-06 17:54

At first I had troubles to understand how to start moving but that was because I kinda ignored the text that was explaining that :) Anyway, the game is very well polished and has a lot of content for a game jam entry -- all those different types of enemies and interaction. Also the core mechanic of the movement is something new that makes it different from other platformers. Well done!

sunnray 2020-10-06 17:58

I like that there is an intro where it is explained what you can do. It was hard for me to get how to correctly grab-move, because it seemed like sometimes the arm would go one way and then - the other. Overall, it is a very fun experience!

deviantdear 2020-10-06 18:02

Great game! I have an irl robot arm that streams on twitch so I was especially drawn to a game about a sentient robot arm XD

inanimatecarbonrod 2020-10-06 18:11

awesome game, very polished, great humor and sound. my only issue is that a fullscreen button on itch would be helpful as i found myself clicking out of the game when flailing around wildly with my grabby hand XD

hermitao 2020-10-06 18:25

Incredible game!! Extremely intuitive, I didn't need to read absolutely any instructions to know how to play. Nice!! Loved the music lol

rucksack 2020-10-06 20:04

Thanks for the nice feedback @all. We're happy that you're enjoying our game :)

@rolly You're right, it's mainly the story of breaking out from the monotonous work in a factory. In addition, we tried to show this monotony with the surroundings synchronized to the rhythm.

@smiley I don't understand what you mean, do you refer to the music transition between levels? In each level itself, the music should loop, except there is some kind of bug.

smiley 2020-10-06 20:05

@rucksack yeah it just played once and never continued when I played.

rucksack 2020-10-06 21:08

@smiley Damn, that's not how it's supposed to be :D We're going to look into that, thanks!

tricky-fat-cat 2020-10-07 10:18

I love the idea of the game, it's fun and pretty interesting to play. The enly problem is that beginning isn't very obvious.

mog13 2020-10-07 11:14

I have so much to say about this game. From great implementation to hilarious extra touches (the doom style computer face). I think though its best summed up as I liked this game as a full game, I would have been impressed with this just playing in general let alone knowing it was made in a few days. absolutely smashed it! great job!

justcamh 2020-10-07 15:15

Hey, I got ya on stream, thanks for submitting! Here's the vod if you wanna rewatch it. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/763143712

miklou 2020-10-07 17:06

I looooove grabby story ! I must admit i was suprise when i was able to move. I love thoses environments. Funny game, great art/audio. And now, let's have a beer !

cedric86 2020-10-07 17:11

Really innovative. Very cool game. Thumbs up.

eldogg 2020-10-07 18:20

Woo this is wild. Love the introduction with picking up the USB, well worth putting it in.

Cannon fodder style enemies was great, really fun annihilating the human captors.

Like that a loop was used in multiple ways, the factory line, the controls and more.

Great job!

javasaurus 2020-10-07 22:34

Heya! Thanks for submitting your game to my stream [twitch.tv/drjavasaurus)[www.twitch.tv/drjavasaurus]. I had a great time playing it. This... was... goresome... and I loved it ! It is very challenging, but fair at the same time. I loved the fact I could just pick up stuff and trash it about, splattering people like it was 1997 and I was playing carmeggedon on my PS1. Great entry, worth a play for sure !

sherwin-claridge 2020-10-08 18:11

Excellent game! Presentation is great and had a ton of fun! Good luck!

mikoziq 2020-10-08 21:54

That's what I call thinking outside of the box. You guys have solid foundation for great mecha adventure game! Job well done so far! I enjoy mecha game fuel beers at the end!

jvdwijk 2020-10-08 22:17

This was really nice! I loved the custom made song and the game was pretty cool, reminded me a lot of Carrion!

palemek 2020-10-15 20:59

One heck of a game! Really ejoyed it, it was the most humorous game i played so far!

PS. Also most feature complete! =*1000

cagibi 2020-10-17 08:25

The polished art and ambience really add to the unique mechanic. The most satisfying and hilarious game that grabbed my attention in this jam!

savvy-community 2020-10-19 18:51

This one is a special one <3! Run! hum.. Grab, Grabby! That was so much fun! I could not YET finish it because I'm playing on a trackpad and began having muscular issues haha.. Thanks a lot and congratulations :). GENIUS grabby.gif

amusingfrog 2020-10-19 19:28

Nice game. That was so much fun to play

garys 2020-10-19 19:40

So, so _so_ cool!!! Great idea, unique mechanic, murdering little employees and passers by with reckless abandon, and vehicles... Love it.

invixel 2020-10-19 19:45

Wow, this game was really amazing! Probably the best one I've played so far this jam.

+

The controls were very weird but managed to feel nice anyway. The idea is amazing and really well executed. Telling the story of the Rogue AI but from the perspective of a robot stuck in a loop and breaking out was a really creative interpretation of the theme. Graphics are simple yet effective. Lot's of variety in people, objects, and environment once you get outside. Music was awesome, loved the Grabby Theme in the start. The audio really fit in to the atmosphere of a breakout mission well.

-

Especially in the last part, the most effective strategy was just to rush as fast as possible (which is a challenge in itself so it's not really an exploit). It didn't make the game boring, but i had to find SOMETHING to put here...

--------------

Amazing job!

gaming-night 2020-10-19 21:06

Very funy game, well polished :)

thebooksnail 2020-10-19 21:45

10/10 would escape again. I had some trouble with the movement, if you continue working on it I would love to try it again with some polished movement. I would always take damage from the tank missile things. I was always trying to jump over the missiles but can't get enough height.

mtabasco 2020-10-19 22:05

I don't get how this game is related to the jam's theme, and to be honest, I don't give a damn. This was probably the most fun I've had with a game in this jam! At one point of the game I was really frustrated with the shooting guys, but I had to keep on playing because I was having a blast, which is an amazing thing to experience in a game.

The graphics are also really cool and I loved the music.

Very good job!

le-don 2020-10-20 10:17

Nice game! But I had problems with the controls.

matootsy 2020-10-24 09:29

All the concept and good use of the theme is in the first part. It's so nice to break the routine of a robot's life. The Art and music/Sound are veery nice. And the control a bit difficult at the beginning, is very well made. Even if all the other part of the game consist of rushing and taking energy sometimes, it's a very goog entry. Congratulation you three! Perhaps with other features and trying to find a gameplay a bit less repetitive, it would be a cool game. (At one time I was thinking that I was not able to climb on the wall and that I had to use the squares or the triangles to make something like a stair with it. Perhaps it could be an idea?)

fistflame 2020-10-24 13:35

Amazing visuals and audio, fun idea! There was a lot of care put into that UI and the art in all the levels. The sound effects were well placed and the music was really good! Gameplay needs some tweaking as you pretty much just rush towards the end x) Well done though!
