I also get large texture support error on Windows. On Debian Squeeze 32-bit, I get "X Error of failed request: BadLength (poly request too large or internal xlib length error)"

I don't have a way to test myself, but you could try running "python ball-cup" in the root of the package in terminal on Mac. The launch file is pure Python, just without the extension in the file name.
Hegemege: I thought about how it would be unfair if somebody played this as an arcade game and immediately died without another chance, so I'm going to try adding 3 lives and see if it makes a better experience. It'll be interesting to see how concentration changes from from life 1 to 3.
CherryNukaCola: yay! :D I wanted to save the strips each time to make a high scores table. The color is based on how close you are to the center, so you can judge your performance by how red or green it is.
Jiddo: The ball's behavior is based on its size. The smaller it is, the slower it seems because it's farther from the target, as if the camera zoomed out, moving the ball backward. The fruit is based on a color gradient from red to green (apple to honeydew). The closer to the target, the greener the fruit reward. I will think of how to convey this!
lorancou: +1 for level numbers. I was thinking that myself yesterday. The level number is the length of the color strip but it's hard to tell what it is specifically. Either a scoreboard would clarify or a ghost strip of your current high score behind the current score.
Fnkee: yay! and ME TOO I thought because of how simple the game is it would be easy to add every feature in time but alas this was not the case. Scoreboards are first on my to-do list!
Joshua: Honeydew! (redder is farther, greener is closer)
Frosnite: :( Windows exe or source?
GranaDa: Charge is based on the size of the ball. Sorry it's not apparent!
QXD-me: I don't know what's up with that! Maybe something to do with 64-bit. I'll see if I can fix it in an updated version
The save feature is greatly appreciated! I'm still playing. Cool concept :)
Great sound effects!! The red square at the top of the wall on the last level made me laugh. In general, it's a funny game, so exaggeratedly manic and quick to restart that it's almost satirical.
They keep coming and I keep slicing them!! Love the art style of the boss :)
Great music and colors! The organically dilating and throbbing shapes bring the screen to life.
Great job adding stuff that seems like it could belong but is also absurd in some way.
I ran from source, and there were only a few changes that make it compatible with Pygame 1.8.1. I uploaded a patch to http://stor.a-o.in/doc/pygame-1.8.1.patch :D
Wonderful! Delightful animations and sprites and great mix between fast-paced searching/running and precise collection.
It's fun to see the flight paths that emerge. Flying near the ground reminds me of seeing people at a carnival while riding one of the rides.
Funny, surreal and intense! I like that it has an encouraging message despite obvious opportunities to kill or maim the player.
The controls are a fun challenge!
Great concept! Great physics programming!
Enemy 1 is a great way to initialize the game. Visually interesting bullet patterns!
Great concept! Very hard but the extra difficulty forced me to experiment and create new strategies, revealing the depth of the game. Works great with the theme as a minimization of RTS/tower defense.
Nice backgrounds and sprites!
I think the best part is when it says press escape to quit. It's like we could escape the entire time but we decide to walk through the tower of misery instead. Maybe this exists already, but imagine a game that was your character dying immediately after as you spawned over and over. After 100 times, it says press reset to start again or something like that. A lot of comments are suggesting ways to implement more strategy, but you could also go the other way and make it more punishing as a statement about the nature of misery.
Letters from the KGB and Josef Stalin! <3 communism <3 I like the file dead.png
Super fun! The subtly angled line creates an interesting perspective, and the design variation and progression of difficulty in challenge mode are great!
I like the dashed lines and the pattern they make as you move through the level :D
Love this concept! GBA <3
It took me a while to get past level one, but once I did, the rest of the levels were no problem. Cool idea! I'm glad I got to play the full game.
On a side note, if you press the direction keys randomly while the first level loads or while a level restarts, you can get into an area that lets you float down into a yellow screen.
The burrowing action and rapidly changing numbers/direction arrow give the character an insect-like quality. Great level generator and use of the accelerometer!
I had a lot of fun! Nice potato sprite! Great attention to detail!
Cool 3D experiment, dreamlike and psychedelic, especially the end area.
I get this error on Windows:
Failed to select a GLFWFBConfig from the alternatives
Unable to find a usable pixel format
Failed to create GLFW window
AL lib: (EE) alc_cleanup: 1 device not closed
Awesome, a game inside a few seconds long, user made audio loop. Place stuff, avoid or destroy it and listen to some berzerk sounds. Cool abstract representations of notes, beats and effects.
Beautiful, exotic and weird. Based on your comment above, it's normal I can't do anything except see the animations, right? Even without the gameplay, it's an interesting app. Great intro and illustrations!
Great idea and design!! It's especially exciting when a few branches are growing successfully
Great music and atmosphere. I enjoyed making streams of bullets while rotating the ship.
Once I realized I could move the box, I started having a lot of fun! Great basic mechanic! It becomes especially satisfying in impossible mode, frantically moving the box and picking stuff up.
I had fun playing! Managed to get 48 seconds and 100 quid :) I removed the "mixer.pre_init" line to get it to run with Pygame 1.8.1
An old-school, flying through futuristic metropolis, arcade style boss level with modern design. So much fun, especially when you can get a streak of gracefully bouncing from platform to platform.
Nice imagination of the inside of a computer! I felt a visceral sensation from the effects in the final room.
I enjoyed the atmosphere and cat sprite. The design reminds me of Qix :)
What a wonderful game and story! The spirit of youth and humanity!!
I get "Bad magic number in .pyc file" trying to run on Linux, probably because I'm using Python 2.6. If you distributed the uncompiled files it might work or give a better error description.
Cool concept! I had fun playing
Jelly wings like crystal spores emerging is an intriguing sensation. In particular, I'm wondering what happens after I'm me/I'm you.
Great idea using the ripples! I also like the effect of the discs floating between the bars.
Yay! :D Cute and fun!
That was fun! Surprisingly addictive and deep because of the high level power ups.
Great progression! Without a tutorial, the design communicates the techniques to move the rake most efficiently but leaves room for players to experiment on their own.
Super duper! From start to finish! Cute and vivacious!
Cool to see experimentation in data structures and algorithms in addition to game design.
Hilarious! I like getting stuck and having to fart or slurp my way to victory
Brilliant attention to detail, especially in physics and animations. I'm also very impressed with your use of Pygame!
I'm going to submit an EXE version for Windows soon. Until then, you'll need both Python and Pygame to run the source code.
anbreizh: Thanks, I'm close to getting py2exe working, but it's taking a while because I have to borrow a Windows computer.
Cosmologicon: 61 is a fine score from what I've seen but you can do better :)
If anybody else is having trouble with audio, can you post what is happening?
Most are mentioning the difficulty, so I plan on making a video to show how it can be overcome because I got 322, and it seems that breaking 100 for others is seemingly impossible.
javifugitivo: ^-^
meszka: Cool! That is the effect is has on me, too. You're right about the connection to the theme, but I didn't show yet how the triangles affect the area under the sieve.
Vector: Thank you! Somebody suggested I invert the controls, and they seemed to work better afterward. If I make an update, I'll work on adding more visual feedback. Good score!
01F0: Thanks! Honored to see the word Tetris!
Moosefly: Thanks for the candid feedback and sorry to hear it's annoying for you! I'll keep that in mind.
Thank you everyone who left feedback!
TheSheep: That was a bug originally, but I decided to leave it in.
The static noise is programmed to gradually increase from 0% to 60% volume. Maybe there's a bug causing the volume to go to 100% on some computers because it's not that loud for me. It's not meant to be loud, just static-y.
Awesome!! Gonna put this **** on my TELEPHONE!!
I like the sensation of controlling many roots at once
I like the stronger explosions you get from the center of the asteroids
Excellent! I love the shots that reveal a cube but are too fast to be able to catch it. It forces you to predict its movement and try a precise shot next. I played for a while until I got 1:06.
Effectively conveys the sensation of your body exploding
Cool loading screen. The game captures well the spirit of digging and mining!
Awesome animations!! The worm looks so flaccid and exhausted when it collapses
I love this game. It's a head falling through panes of glass in space. I played a lot of times and finally got to the white screen and will play more. I think the idea of going for or avoiding the glass is great.
Run around with crazy bugs it's so nutty it's like the ultimate physical dream
Super cool concept that compelled me to try over and over. I'm not able to get 30 land kills yet but it is a great expert goal.
Fortunately, the hot dog had a grappling hook with human hands rather than a knife or pizza cutter.
High innovation in the Bright Area! MANY KUDOS 2 U '-'
Go to the surface, feed the baby, dive back into another maniacal killing spree!!
So cute and joyful! I like that the algorithm seems simple, but when I stop to think, I realize I'd rather play to figure it out.
Best score: 246
In love with your tiny sprites and underground mushroom world. My wish is for every action to have a visual cue, so I can swap, craft and record effectively.
I played this many times. It is fun and challenging.
Beautiful and profound interpretation of video games.
Wow superb, the greatest use of 300 lines of code
Beautiful, interesting animations and pictures and a trying exercise in patience. I found it more enjoyable when I forced myself to not look at the timer.
Cool interpretation of the theme and pleasant keyboard composition!
Fun idea! It feels like a scene in an action movie where the main character is rolling around avoiding enemies attacking from every side.
I love the reactions. Especially how horrified the baby is of pornography.
Excellent audio! It works really well with the setting. I got to the end without much trouble. It's a maze on a river with water instead of walls.
P.S.: I had to remove the "import pygame._view" line to get it to run on linux.
Very fun and intriguing! I got over 700, too, but it looks like 1000+ is possible. As I was playing, I was wondering if the player can avoid losing pieces. If blue is closer to red and red is closer to blue, one of them has to be sacrificed eventually, right? Maybe you can tap them to change direction, or after a while they disappear because it takes some skill to keep them away from the edge? Or just let them perish!
They cornered him coming out of the shop! I may be crazy, but I for one enjoy beating things to death with a stick as a wizard then climbing piles of corpses.
P.S. I had to delete the pygame directory and then it ran fine using the version of pygame installed on my computer.
Having the explorer move by 1 pixel every frame is too slow for me... It feels like I'm dragging his lifeless corpse through the cave. I changed the speed to 4 pixels in the source, and it's a lot more fun that way. I feel like a real gunslinger now. Cool skeletons, all the basic elements of video games are in this.
P.S. I keep spawning inside rocks and having to restart
The robots slowly approaching each other with the electro music is epic.
It seems like I just have to run to the power-up, use it and then I win. This might be more fun/strategic with more power-ups scattered and each player getting to experiment with combinations.
Awesome game! Like a bullet-hell version of Contra. Excellent audio and interface, really cool stuff, works well with the low resolution window. It took me a while, but I completed it with 11/12 stars. I found level one to be the most difficult. Maybe one turret would be enough to get players used to it. The one-liners are great. A melee weapon would be fun for really dismantling the droids.
I ran it using the source, and I had to change the audio file names to lowercase or the game crashed. The main file is executable, but it only runs when called by python as a script. Otherwise, it runs fine from source.
I like the ASCII representations, especially the human and tree! This is a fun way to experience a story.
Very cool looking maze algorithm. I made the game run in 1024 x 768 to see what it looks like. I don't know if I would ever get to the end even if I could see the whole map, but with the save feature it would be fun to do it over a long period of time like doing a huge jigsaw puzzle.
It also lags on my phone and laptop, making it difficult to do what I want which is to really slap the balls. Anyway, this is a great idea even without letting the player draw the wiper, and drawing the wiper makes it more interesting because it always feels like there's a more efficient way to draw it.
Cool background music and easy to understand
The story behind these scenarios must be nuts! A shark strapped into robotic legs, a scientist on a fire-breathing chameleon, a giant cat chase across a table into a house plant. An open furnace in the dining room.
So much potential, but there are many bugs. The shark disappears if I move the window. It turns into a tetris piece. It gets pushed into the ground by rotating platforms.
I couldn't get more than 20 jewels, but I had a lot of fun playing!! The way the game gradually increases in intensity makes it exciting and challenging (and addictive).
That is a great effect, having the black lines rearrange every level, and the variations they make are cool. They make navigating the level fun even without obstacles. And I like the way the background becomes more colorful as you play. Impressive game!!
Very cool basic idea with lots of potential. Lure enemies and blow them up. I like that you've added physics to the movement of the main player, and the bomb really has a blast to it.
Lots of fun action. Who would have thought? sharks and ducks fighting to the death with lasers
speed of light
The bullies are classic foes
I went on a killing spree with the beetle. Once I figured out to stun the enemies and run away, I started making progress, and I beat the lord! I really like the ARPG battle style.
The matador style badger fights are great
I find this game interesting for its satire element. It's like a paradox, at least in the case of the consumer goods materializing, where the stuff turning us into the walking dead is being used in brutality to fend off the monsters it is creating.
I like your perspective on the theme and variety of townspeople sprites. The movement physics disintegrate as you go along, which is an interesting idea but feels more like a bug. Also, sometimes collisions don't register.
The difficult to control physics of the planet and indirect way of moving the other planets are great. I feel like I would have played many more levels. A more positive story like building a star might be more appealing... To me at least...
I would prefer if the next ant started immediately, but I like that you're going for something non-traditional
I was intrigued by berzerk mode. I got it and died, but I built a killer team of squirrels. Move aside, people.
Squirrels coming through.
The world and character are interesting enough to me to be compelling without the introduction. With some tighter controls and checkpoints, this would be an especially fun level. I really like the fireworks effect at the end.
Cool music and funny touhou style game title! Reverent bullet-hell action. I request a special move of some kind.
Brain killa! I would like to hear more about the story of the brain tyrants
What a fun and innovative physics game!
More pumpkin please! The eyes rolling around on the floor is a cool effect.
Maybe I'm missing something about my abilities, but I am stuck between two large pits. I feel compelled to see the ending, though. I also want to know the story behind the character, pigs and crayons. Really love how you convey the heaviness of the pigs and how backtracking with new abilities changes the level like true metroidvania.
Such faithful 8-bit artwork and music. I love the mix between Zelda and what reminds me of Technos NES games. Very impressive dungeon generator! My feature request would be different kinds of enemies. Overall, an awesome game!
I made it to the last level even though I keep getting the bug. I love the unusual setting and graphics in this game, as well as the experimental puzzle concept.
I'm interested in seeing this as an action/adventure game. I tried to walk into the corridors more than a few times.
I thought this triceratops was going to quiz me on conundrums, but as a funny thing this is what it is. This dude talking about aliens picture is hilarious.
Good fart physics and interesting level design! The part with three bugs on the right is really difficult. I need to work on my farting skills. You should distribute this game with a QR code on a scratch and sniff card.
There's something very compelling and exciting about this mechanic. Maybe I like cats too much? Really fun idea. My only request is cute meowing sounds on top of a death metal soundtrack.
so so great put in some sound effects
great animal and flower effects, the slimes evolved
Red has some effective strategies -- impressive AI work! I had two surprisingly edge-of-my-seat battles. I wish there was a little more whipping action on the fish, but on the other hand their limpness makes them seem even more pathetic and absurd as weapons.
skull burrower
Funniest weapon so far! Very pleasant and fun game!
real visceral and dark drinking blood puking up bones
This is fun, it would be cool with bonuses for crash chaining
This is a great concept on its own, and the levels burning through makes it even more interesting. This would be such a fun game to design levels for.
Cool demo. The cube is indeed much more difficult to control than the ball. I was expecting the cube to push the ball.
It took me way too long to get that last shot in! I enjoyed the challenge and the way you brought together a shmup and platformer. I could hardly use the wall jumping and teleporting to my advantage, though teleporting is an interesting mechanic for avoiding projectiles. Fun and challenging entry!
Really enjoyed the details you put into the graphics, and the concept is fun. I like watching the town transform. More details to change or new maps would be awesome.
I beat it on my first try! A lot of games would try to make bingo more interesting by adding sex, violence or characters, but this one just has tradition and good graphics. Also, the AI feels like a real person.
Excellent!
The juiciness is off the charts, but the design, art
...and music are great/very promising!
I'm liking these gumby characters
The characters and absurdity had me interested for sure. Would like to see the full adventure of waffle boy and the toasties.
blasting away, cool delay effect
I got to the room with the square waves around the border of the room and gave it my best. Great execution of a great concept. Some of the puzzles feel like they are too difficult and experimental for me, though they would fit well as extras. I like the delayed jumping and dragon sprite style.
I'll stick to fortune cookies hahah um actually this really freaked me out I had to turn the sound off wow. I would give you 4 or 5 stars for theme, I mean to me the game means something like formality stifles
Cool graphics demo and procedural generation! Nice challenging difficulty level
Thank you for playing and commenting!
Regarding the mines, it's true they aren't very noticeable. We plan to make it so they are placed more strategically, look more hazardous and give more feedback when triggered.
Oh shoot, sorry to hear that NightShadow0, color blind mode was something we were thinking of adding down the road, thanks for the feedback!
We are definitely going to work on making the mines more readable in the future as well.
Thanks for the feedback MrTwister, making the win condition more clear to the player is definitely next on our list of things to do!
Frenzy!! Cool monster and computer grid graphics and effects. It seems strange a giant monster would rely on bombs to destroy a city, but it leads to an interesting mechanic. I like when it switches to a realistic city in the game over screen.
Amazing game. The controls are SPOT ON- Keeping this on my computer for sure
Rad action blasting! I was just thinking more games should include taking damage as part of the gameplay.
oh yes does not disappoint
What an awesome mechanic! I could play hundreds of these puzzles!
Needs a difficulty curve. Its ok for it to be hard, but should have some ramp up so players can get accustomed to the mechanics. -oTiS
Really fun concept. Music is great, very fitting, made me feel like a lich. Keep expanding the game! -oTIs
I think the way the controls work is counter intuitive, and it really made them game frustrating to play for me. Element selector dial makes me think you can push A or D to rotate right or left but that is not the case. You should make the dial stay stationary and have a visible indicator move over the dial to show which element you have selected. -Otis
Sad atmosphere. I'm sorry I didn't mean to turn you into a pile of goo.
Hahaha! The switcharoo going from the hero to the dragon was awesome was not expecting that
I got 146. The graphics and environment are so great! It is a lot of fun moving around in the city. I couldn't seem to control the jump height, though I enjoyed jumping and smashing things.
Overall pretty fun game. Tried to play strategically at first by luring people into the woods 1 by 1. Eventually found it more effective to just Yeti-mode and just run at them.
I enjoyed this game. -Otis
Uhm... Atmosphere was great, I think I pushed over a cake stealing bastard. Also I am not sure if my seeds actually grew. I ate some cake though.
I wish the mouselook was not inverted.
Pretty successful as piece of world building. Evaluating it as a game left me feeling disappointing though. The gameplay consists of: Pick up 5 things, pick up 5 more things, wait 1 minute, move outside, wait one minute, wait one more minute, pick up 5 things.
For more constructive criticism I would say move at least the stress level indicator to a HUD, so you can watch it deplete while you are not in the ship. That would also fit with the concept of having a "Personal Helmet Assistant".
Reeally nostalgic feeling, like original Game Boy era audio and mechanics! Pygame and Sunvox YEAHH!!!
Really nice. Maybe you can push crazy physics to your advantage? It's such a simple game but with crazy physics it could be made even more extreme and hilarious. Like what if the knights were bonking around the creen and collisions with other knights gave you a combo or something lol
made me feel tense. you know you are going to die sometime just depends on how long you can avoid those hunting you.
Intense! Classic monster action
YESSS! DESTROY!!!!
I liked what I saw! But right now it feels like a very light build of a full game. Would be good to have some story context too since you are playing- in first person- as the monster. For sure has potential keep it up
pretty fun, hard at first but started to get the hang of it after a few trys. Sfx and general artstyle is great. -Otis
Simple gameplay, funny concept. TOO RELATABLE :)
5s across the board, live action the supper 2016, it was
The graphics and sound effects make throwing poupous off the cloud feel very enjoyable. I felt like I was playing a simulation of going mad in a public place. I wish there were some challenge, some action or puzzle element, but the core interaction is fun. Regarding the input, it felt strange using the mouse buttons when the pointer wasn't being used.
The giant space ram is so crazy looking!! The game is like Katamari and Osmos, but the ramming part is a nice addition.
Cool monster and legend but is it possible to laser the divers? Also, they sometimes spawn at the top right before surfacing, so some rounds end immediately.
pretty fun, nice atmosphere, like the moon charging mechanic. -OtiS
Amazing amount of detail and features!!!
Pretty fun, nice battle system, nice graphical style. Pretty good sense of humor. After about 20 tries of fighting the Dragon I gave up. I wish there was a way to use potions during a fight. Also you can just walk around the skeletons in the tower leading up to the Dragon, is that intended? Is the idea that your character disregards the other people in the worlds desires? (e.g. stealing peoples jewelry and entering houses without permission)
Come get some Mr. Flex! the monsterest of all
Chomping through the soldiers feels awesome, I just wish it were a little more challenging. Maybe give the soldiers some ninja skills!!
Nice job! I love the movement patterns of the little virus babies. The control scheme is nice too excet the way the camera rotates is extremely disorienting... which is fun but makes me lose track of my progress in the maze
Good atmosphere. Not sure if it was intentional or not but I felt like i was a skeleton trapped in a dungeon crawler game and all I could do was walk around. Good concept, slightly frustrating gameplay.
Love came to me like a computer!
I got to play this at an LD gathering! It is a lot of fun. You have to be indirect about your identity, so the questions and actions get really funny. It's a fun way to interact and the tech side is cool.
rad drawings and sound, nice subtlety of bizarreness
Pretty fun concept, but it doesnt really give a feeling of progress while playing. I dont know what I am trying to achieve other than infecting humans.
Also the sound effects are pretty annoying since they trigger every time you click. If you click a lot its all like "aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa".
The monsters are so relatable, so the real monster must be our ideal of beauty. Isn't this what we all do?? Disguise ourselves to look like something we hope passes for human? Maybe it's just me. Anyway, this is a great game!
Awesome puzzles! The sound effects are so gooey and slimy!
Really simple and fun game. The movement mechanics are incredibly satisfying. When I found out you can divebomb from a hover I was pretty excited. Combat mechanics are fun as well. -Otis
Should be working now!
I would like if it required more strategy! Maybe there could be aqueducts and you have to choose how to pour water!
It does build on Linux! The binary just has to be launched from inside the resources folder (bin/x64) or it won't find the files
This is a really fun and challenging game! The two bullet attack is so simple but difficult to avoid, and the movement of the boss taunts you
This is great, especially for a game made in a few hours. If you just made the gaps get gradually smaller, it would be a lot more fun because of the added challenge. I like the idea of having lasers come at you from behind. I also like that even though you have an ancient technology connection in your story, it's funny how it seems like the game's theme is the opposite, like a futuristic space ship chase. I think it would be fun if more games purposely did the opposite of the theme.
@jeremyfa Thanks for the feedback! I can maybe try testing it myself if you let me know which version of OS X are you running?
@amras0000 Thanks for conveying your experience! Each icon in the upper right represents one boost. Boosts are like a double-jump, allowing you to jump even when not on an eye. You get an extra boost every time you land on a colored eye (even if you already landed there in a previous run).
The connection to the theme is "spring", and there was a story that I didn't have time to put in the game. Basically, the slime is an extraterrestrial that is fascinated with the concept of a spring.
As for communicating these things, I am thinking of fun ways to communicate the jump distance and boosts!
The outdoor photos and sounds do a good job of establishing the setting. The story ends pretty abruptly or at least without much development of the relationship between the player and the sound spirit.
This is a cool looking world! I think I ran into an asterisk enemy at some point, which was probably the most surprising thing that happened. I think it would be interesting if you slowly became the desert.
Oh this game is like our lives, trying to keep classic gaming alive in 2016 yEaHE
It proves the fact that even the simplest game can be made fun by turning the difficulty up to a nearly impossible level
This is great! I like your joke take on the theme -- it's funny how ancient this technology seems despite being decades old. I would totally use this over Steam!
Good old mining! analogous to everything you do
I'm down with the beat 'em up trading blows mechanic, but the action is a little too monotonous for me, though using the bow is more fun for some reason even though it removes the challenge
That is a cool twist at the end! I'm not sure how I beat it, though! The screen faded as soon as I entered a room. I guess I switched all the switches?
I played it to the end, so I must have liked it! Some arbitrary feedback: I think the game would be more fun if the puzzles or platforming were more challenging. I feel like what I did was basically a fetch quest since it was about turning on all or almost all the switches I found. On the other hand, if there was more variation in the environment, the game wouldn't necessarily need added challenge because the exploration would hold the player's attention.
I remember playing something similar on TI-83 where you're driving through a tunnel. I loved playing graphing calculator games. I like this game as well. I think there is potential to use automatic repeat key presses as an advanced technique for difficult turns.
I keep thinking this game is called Food Day, and you're looking for food (which I think is actually part of the game) because it's Food Day. I see there are some cool shrinking vision effects going on, and I found some scary looking people. The people look menacing, but it seems I cannot axe the people.
YAS great video game, the best parts are when the alien sneezes and when the aliens make crop circles to practice writing
think I'm gonna go be a banker brb
Out of the frying pan and into the fire. The way this can be construed is for it to be played.
The scavenger! I like watching the roach move through the level, even when it doesn't reach the goal. It's fun to see it unfold. Some timing based puzzles with moving obstacles might make that part of the game dynamic.
Hey if these bullets are all the same color why do only the enemy bullets hurt
The narrator reminds me of Iwazaru from Killer 7. It might be fun to take this in a dark direction like that, though I also appreciate the idea of making a game around something so mundane. I would like to see more development of the relationships between characters and maybe something that reveals why the narrator is so enthusiastic.
What lies beyond the screen
On the seventh day, God finished his Ludum Dare entry. He had extra days because he is God.
I like games that form around experimental abstract mechanics, where the story and art are like skins on top of the basic interactions. It seems like the most interesting characters emerge from that style of design.
That was a romp~ The blood, lighting and screen shake made the game feel like I was moving through a beating heart. I like that it reminds me more of a de-made FPS than a top-down arena shooter. I must have had an ace up my sleeve, though, because I annihilated everything, like it was nothing.
Awesome! The variety that comes out of three basic enemies is impressive, as is the faithfulness to traditional arcade game design. I think if there were different room shapes it could really test a player's ability to deal with the enemies. I also think the challenge that Q-bert has where the floor color can change back to the original color if you jump on it twice would open up some more level designs.
The new sport of futurism and a riff on the greatest moments of American Gladiators and Nickelodeon game shows
The tension comes across through the music and character animations. Everyone looking pissed off and impatient, either tapping their feet or heaving their shoulders.
An interpreter ideally would make a neutral, literal translation, but this game makes you think about how that's not really possible.
How did you get the cats to sing like that and run around painting the floors
oedipus is back with a macabre twist a frog haunting your dreams and a brutal face off with your dad who looks like a minion
19:33 lol
great game, very tight and uses the theme to add something new and useful to one of the most common genres
my suggestion would be to try some non-symmetrical designs... the obstacles don't have to be the same on both sides just because the player is going back and forth
Good sounds, good challenge, an overall tight, classic game. I'd like to know the backstory of this bizarre world!
Awesome puzzles! The ridiculousness of having everything crammed into the room is probably the best part of the game.
The nationalism/patriotic vibe is heavy. It's a sign of the times.
its-better-to-have-loved-and-lost-than-never-to-have-loved-at-all.jpg
What this game says about free will is interesting -- this is the first time I've seen a game with one meaningless, superficial choice. As a parody of games, this is a great concept.
To me this is like a mix of Ufouria, VVVVVV and Seiklus. The tension between being able to roam the map vs. the constraint of the gravity arrows is what I enjoyed most. The way the paths to the crystals are intertwined through one area is impressive. I would be into playing an extended version!
This is awesome! basically everything I like in a nutshell -- collecting stuff, avoiding stuff, memorizing, unlocking new areas
Planes have a built-in risk/reward system, so why wouldn't a game about them have one as well. It seems like this is a remote controlled toy plane, but it's pretty funny without any story. I'm just flying a plane around a kitchen. Maybe this is what Boeing does.
This game rules! Determinism is back
The motif of people in this game is better than what most communication apps come up with for their icons using hired workers and significant budgets
Bullet hell in a warped time/space gravity well
I was aghast by the bleeding head the concept is astounding human sacrifice gone awry and your disembodiment is cured by collecting tokens inside of what is basically a slot machine and as usual I made a killing at the casino
the character and enemy sprites are gnarly that's probably the best way to describe this game I especially like the jumping mushroom and am wondering if it has social media I can follow I'm curious about the jumping mushroom I guess I think it would be reasonable if there was a long range weapon maybe as an upgrade also I can confirm the linux build works
I appreciate when a game takes the player the meat of its components quickly and this game does precisely that with regards especially to the cannon enemies plus the music absolutely slays
my raft is not as cool as the others but I got a pic with my waifu and doge Untitled.png
personally I'm impressed by the fog like I have no idea if that's easy to do but to me it seems impressive the way I played this was go straight jumping constantly and eventually the days started cycling and I found the rainbow crystals which I was very glad to have found anyway I think it's heavy that this epic world of biomes turns out to be about killing people in cold blood and stealing their money
@alchemic I think the Xs were too thin, I was meaning to replace them anyway so I added enemy sprites to the post-jam build, thanks for commenting
@ynneblack the connection to the theme was that the line appeared as a single point out of nowhere and split into the start and end points (that's why they're so close together in each level) but I didn't get a chance to explain in the game, thanks for commenting
has that pico 8 juiciness and arcade adrenaline and feels like everything can explode at any moment
where is the money is coming from lol are they donations to support the aquarium do the fish have jobs wait a minute I just checked my wallet I think the fish were stealing ethereum from me also is this aquarium as big as the ocean what's going on here by the way when the fish was looking at me I was shaken to my core
it satisfies because I was just thinking I need to unleash my combination on some bonesy boys
hearkens back the golden era of newgrounds
what's *really* in these so called washing machines... starfish, jellyfish, regular fish machine... it's all a little *too* cute if you asked me... and who does the fish work for... I think it's an elaborate data mining scam
my emojis are missing :confounded: Untitled.png
I didn't realize about the hearts or even the goal when I played at Babycastles so I didn't realize it's a game right in the dead center of the game alignment chart
how can one find the words for love and loss how by clicking the screen and the words appear!
I've decided the greatest thing about this game is that the wizard wears underwear that looks like a wizard's hat
a cat has nine lives... but I had 16 deaths... something doesn't add up here... the cat is a lie
heavy ancient futurism vibe
it's subtle what this does by adding the special shot that gives the player a shield but it reminds me that the possibilities haven't been exhausted for even the most standard genres like arena/twin-stick shooters
I was wondering the whole time what exactly was about to go down when I reached the top and then when it zoomed in and I started walking around I was basically shaken absolutely to my core
the cat giving me the side eye basically chilled me to the bones
maybe I'm jumping to conclusions because the racoon looks like a burglar but is the racoon stealing the bikinis or what's going on here
how could you make me choose between diego the crocodile and steve the duck!!! in the end they actually come together though so from nothing there becomes togetherness
things are trying to kill me again and I'm not even sure what I did but luckily these gun chests are around and I can loot everything
this crab is really quite a menace lol and it looks like a roomba I mean think about the peaceful nature of this ecosystem if it weren't for the crab but I guess it's also helping clean up the water by recycling and if I had magic claws I would do the same and I did
verry beefy the movement and size of the bosses give them a quality of seeming massive and heavy like a statue hurtling at you and the meticulous engineering of the matador mechanic paired with the deflect like mechanic seen in situations such as versus ganondorf is a testament to the utility of a tried and true formula established in the formative years of video games
now this is what I'm talking about because this is an alien blob dressed up in formal attire ready for some action puzzles and it lets out a cheerful yip-py I would maybe suggest dropping the buttons entirely except maybe stop because the pieces could just be available on the playing field already and the play button could be clicking the blob just like the classic game march of the minis
like all alien planets I look forward to seeing more of this
The writing is hilarious and just in general the premise is funny... walking around this island what an odd cast of characters a pile of bones, robot brothers, old man sitting on a chair that says "old"... it's great, it reminds be of a top down version of noobow... my only advice is um one of the things the old man says is too offensive even if it's in the character of an angry old man... anyway I liked the game overall good luck with the love rpg engine
this frog is looking very culinary! I'm not sure if by calling it frogbert it's a reference to dilbert but I would like to imagine frogbert is a member of the dilbert fanverse and dogbert is floating tomato slices down the river
yum the flies are especially filthy looking making them even more appetizing this is really how one should simulate a gladiator match and I realize it may not be intentional but when the guinea pigs flip upside down but they keep walking it had me quaking
the music is epic it absolutely slays and I am all about the basics regarding platforming and coins I just would like more platforming and less looping through the same settings doing business I guess it's a little too close to real life
