LD33 — You are the Monster

Nose Wall by Dark Arts and Sciences 2015-08-25T04:11:00

Um, I'm kinda confused. Aha, but man, that nose is amazing!

Takodemon by Split82 2015-08-25T03:37:00

Amazing! I wanted to keep playing it. But even the short amount of levels you have is awesome considering the short time span you had.
The game is innovative; fun; a hybrid of QWOP and Limbo; and still manages to incorporate the theme. Love it :)

Trullskoll by charliecarlo 2015-08-27T00:31:00

Awesome. Quite slow, especially considering there isn't much else to do beside feeding your hunger while you wait for humans. But I still enjoyed it :)

CRT TV by cardboard 2015-08-25T03:59:00

I was really confused to be honest, and the camera angles were very annoying. But the game worked :)

Waning Moon by duskpn 2015-08-25T04:06:00

Hey, this was awesome! Great job guys! It was simple, smooth, and fun :)

City Destruction Simulator 2015 by OriginalOldMan 2015-08-25T03:43:00

Was quite laggy for me, and gosh that loud noise when I destroyed the first building scared the life outta me :P

Jalu - green-eyed monster by petitpois 2015-08-25T09:02:00

Good game, but the collisions did put me off a bit. And I didn't realise you had to collect the letter in a particular order. So I got the end and discovered I'd lost. But still, a good game :)

EIY by Mr. Chocolate Salmon 2015-08-25T04:07:00

Sorry, misread it. Fixed

EIY by Mr. Chocolate Salmon 2015-08-25T05:11:00

They're going to be, but I didn't have time for multiplayer

EIY by Mr. Chocolate Salmon 2015-08-25T22:56:00

Cheers :)

EIY by Mr. Chocolate Salmon 2015-09-04T11:24:00

Thanks guys :)

Lardum by Grahhhhh 2015-09-03T01:39:00

Innovative and simple. I didn't expect much going into the game, but I was pleasantly surprised. Crazy how a game about pushing space at different times can create a humourous and entertain experience :)

Golem by intXparts 2015-08-25T22:55:00

I found the collision detection to be a bit off, and the rock would speed up and slow down without me doing anything. But the game was alright :)

Killer Cat by loesch94 2015-08-25T03:21:00

Hey goood job! The gameplay's smooth and fun :)

Chaser by N4RU7O 2015-08-25T23:01:00

The game worked, and the collisions were fine - but I'm not gonna lie, that walking sound really irritated me.
Good job though :)

Sheeply by antfucker69 2015-08-25T22:48:00

Um... what?

Curious, what version of game maker did you use?

Cow by thisisrarity 2015-08-25T22:39:00

Hey, could you make the file public? We don't have permission :)

The Huntsman by BSkin 2015-08-25T23:08:00

Said it failed to run on windows / bad image :(

Cvltists and Crusaders by mooncalf 2015-08-25T22:30:00

The angle part of the game takes a bit of getting used to, as it doesn't always do what you'd expect it to. But it was a great game, filled with heaps of humour and light-heartedness. Loved it :)

Closet Monster by jsmith 2015-08-25T23:17:00

So simple, but I loved it. The movement was a bit frustrating, and I got caught a number of times on the dog, even though I wasn't moving when he saw me. But the sound effects were awesome (aha, that sleeper), and the gameplay was really smooth and fun.
Did I mention the sound effects?

Become a Boss by BrankoDeLima 2015-08-25T03:50:00

Pretty cool, awesome soundtrack and visuals :)

Kidnapped by Zsombor 2015-08-25T03:45:00

It's simple. But creepy.

Monster Free by kobo 2015-08-25T23:23:00

The controls are really hard to grasp, and the skiers kept moving after I killed them, so it made it kinda difficult to see who was still left alive.

LD34 — Two Button Controls / Growing

Infinity Monkey Autocorrect by andyman404 2015-12-17T03:06:00

5/5 for concept, aha. Everything felt polished

Egg Friends by nwestninja 2015-12-17T03:21:00

This game was really nicely made. I especially love the artwork and text associated with each action. Music was simple (in a good way), and I didn't encounter any glitches.
The gameplay itself does get tedious after a while, and I didn't have the patience to unlock all companions, but what I did play of the game I enjoyed so good job :)

Super Cool Not-A-Game by excaliburHisSheath 2015-12-17T03:25:00

The game wouldn't load for me sorry :(

Jack's Revelation by Mr. Chocolate Salmon 2015-12-16T20:59:00

Hey, thankyou for the honest review. Moving left and right and the second ability you unlock. In the beginning, the only powers you have are the respawn and shockwave ability. When dropping down, you unlock the jumping ability. And then upon respawning and jumping you'll unlock moving :)
I am still working on the random deaths after respawning though

Someone's Revenge by LinealGames 2015-12-16T08:56:00

I couldn't really understand it. The instructions said to left click and right click - but left click didn't seem to do anything, and right click just displayed the name of the object.
It seemed you were onto something though, and the art style is simple but refreshing :)

The bugged game by bnj_llt 2015-12-16T09:08:00

Haha, wow. I had absolutely no idea what was going on. And I loved it. 5/5 for humour mate.
Yes, there were a lot of bugs, but the art style is nice, the music's catchy, and it's funny as well. Good job :)

Left or Right by Syntasu 2015-12-16T09:27:00

Great game and concept. The sound effects got really annoying, but that said, the rest of the game, graphics, and physics worked really well, and were really simple. Great job :)

Grow A Plant by JordanTalley 2015-12-16T09:36:00

The graphics were gorgeous. Basically the game just requires you to keep the two values in the middle, which is nothing new, but that said, it captivates both themes perfectly and is a rather enjoyable game

Grow a Beard! by martin-denizet 2015-12-16T09:03:00

It says the link can't be found :(

LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

Werewolf Village Attack by Marco 2017-12-13T02:01:46Z

Hey this was very well made. The villagers' path-finding and speed was a little annoying, but the rest of the game was quite polished. Loved the sound, atmosphere and controls. Good job!

DROP by Syrapt0r 2017-12-10T22:15:13Z

Hey this was pretty awesome. Yeah the sound was a fraction too loud, and I found the swinging mechanic often flew me off too fast. But I really enjoyed the game regardless!

DodgeBomb by DragonZlay 2017-12-05T11:01:37Z

Hey that's pretty good! I unlocked the darkness bombs stopped. Great us of the theme! I didn't realize you had to use the mouse at first, so I was a bit annoyed that the points kept spawning in the sky - but I figured it out eventually haha.

Toxic Towers by MiltonNH25 2017-12-14T20:56:33Z

I enjoyed the style of this. Platforming was a little hard, but fun none the less :)

An asteroid will hit earth in 2 minutes by Mr ChocolateSalmon 2017-12-05T21:20:43Z

@Syrapt0r thanks for the feedback. I really wanted to dedicate more time to my game this LD, but external life things seemed to get in the way. 4 hours before the end of the Jam, and I didn't even have a game to submit haha. I plan to keep working on it and release a post-Jam version if people want to have a look.

Get that order! by Erk 2017-12-10T22:40:53Z

Hey not bad. There wasn't a lot to do, but I liked the style and mechanics

Don't Get Hangry by SniperA 2017-12-05T10:43:14Z

Hey, not bad! A little glitchy, but incorporates the theme none the less :)

guys I NEED TO PEE by ehe 2017-12-09T21:28:04Z

Great concept, and I really loved the art style. I think I won the game, but I didn't get time to read the screen

LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Effigies by Geckoo1337 2018-12-10T04:54:34Z

Really great puzzle game. Some of those last few were a little challenging, but I enjoyed it. Animations and game play were smooth and I didn't encounter any bugs. Good job!

Planet Saver by jmarkohun 2018-12-17T03:19:22Z

The planet jumping was interesting, and it was kinda fun to jump between those planets. But at the same time, the swapping between planets felt a bit slow and disorientating; and because the planets were so small, the shooting felt a bit off as well. But I still had some fun and liked the simple art style. Good job

Model Trains Inc by Local Minimum 2018-12-18T02:03:30Z

I don't think they should be pushing my train off the track haha.

TrainzScreenshot.png

Nah look, I really love the idea and execution of this game. You successfully made little idiots that continually walk in front of my trains with no hesitation, and while that gets annoying, it's definitely adds an extra layer of fun to the strategies you need to employ. Very well done! And the graphics are beautiful. :train:

**Just an FYI though, the game didn't render properly on Chrome, but worked fine in Firefox.**

Model Trains Inc by Local Minimum 2018-12-22T00:15:06Z

@local-minimum :laughing:

Garry's Sacrifice by Mordokay 2018-12-11T07:10:08Z

Overall it was quite a fun game. I did have a couple bugs however: - The WebGL version didn't render properly, and only showed a black background. Downloaded version works fine though - The item screen down the bottom got in the way of me collecting items at times - I feel as if there should be a button to return to the game, as opposed to having to press escape again - Also for some reason, I was able to drag both the health and positivity bars (while I was trying to figure out what to do haha)

The gameplay was really fluid and the graphics were cute. I think a tutorial level would have been great, as otherwise reading through all the information on this page is definitely required. Intuitively, I didn't pick up that the meat towers should be used sparingly, or how to harvest the tears (I thought they were water drops).

But, apart from those things, I feel you've done a great job! I'll have to give the level editor a go

RAT LABS by Flatgub 2018-12-16T07:58:36Z

The game was a little confusing. Took me a while to figure out how to accept projects or start them, and my game ended with an error when I tried to start one I'd already completed. But the graphics were nice and there seemed to be a level of planning required with making sure you didn't use up all the room. Overall, not bad!

Sacrifical Flight by zgragselus 2018-12-09T05:01:29Z

Beautiful graphics and a simple mechanic. Manage to win the game without throwing anyone off the balloon which was nice (even though I wasn't half my gas as I thought you had to hold space instead of press it). But anyways, simple and functional entry, good job

Pew! Pew! by sorlok 2018-12-18T06:49:57Z

Very well made. The graphics and retro feel work really well, and the sounds are all top notch. Game-play is hard, but fun and rewarding, and the power-up mechanic, including the ability to sacrifice power-ups, is great. Good job mate

Night of the Clawrm by dwemthy 2018-12-16T23:33:45Z

Neat little game. In the beginning I walked straight into the cave and died before I realized I had to drag other people to it. The music was nice if not a little repetitive by the end, and the mechanics were fun. It was great how the other characters started chasing and attacking you when you start dragging another person. Added a bit more tension to the game. Overall, good job

Summertime Sadness by supr 2018-12-16T05:05:21Z

Definitely weird haha, but the controls and graphics are nice!

The Omicron Fleet by cerno-b 2018-12-17T00:32:50Z

A really unique and fun game. Loved it. Similar to a board game I almost created once. Liked the simplicity of the mechanics, but also the numerous strategies you could employ in regards to where to keep the ships and which formation to use. Maybe a minor nitpick, but being able to see the formations on the right of the screen just to help visualize which one was where would have been nice, and sometimes it could be hard to find the ships hidden underneath the flagship.

But other than that, top marks for innovation and enjoyability

Arkham 2043 by juxipolo 2018-12-10T05:08:58Z

Really well made with some great art. Complexity and content included even though there was only a couple days in the Jam. Some audio/music is definitely needed to help maintain focus in the game, but I enjoyed it!

Game Jam Simulator by UnidayStudio 2018-12-22T02:28:48Z

Awesome game! Would have been nice to have a little screen at the end similar to game dev simulator, with some funny reviews and a description of what the game may have been like. Just to add an extra layer to your game.

Other than that, the graphics and audio are really nice. The game play is simple and fun. Could possibly have incorporated the theme a bit more, but overall I think you did a really great job

A Heart of Light by Mr ChocolateSalmon 2018-12-04T09:01:52Z

@kenn50games Thanks for the honest feedback. Yeah I only just got to actually play the game and I realized it wasn't really fun either aha. I really just wanted to make a game with shaders and a bit of mystery, but I think I got too occupied with it that I forgot to properly test the game as I was making it

A Heart of Light by Mr ChocolateSalmon 2018-12-09T02:10:38Z

@zgragselus Hey cheers mate. Sorry I completely forgot to mention how characters follow you! It seems obvious that it should have been included in the description. Also there are monsters that hunt you in the dark, but I didn't get enough time to give them much other functionality.

Thanks for the comments anyways!

A Heart of Light by Mr ChocolateSalmon 2018-12-09T20:57:15Z

@pedro-rosa Cheers. Yeah I tried drawing some water sprites but I couldn't get it to match the art style of the game, so I just left it as a plain blue

A Heart of Light by Mr ChocolateSalmon 2018-12-11T06:22:55Z

@mordokay Hey thanks mate, really appreciate it. Makes me happy that you said you had a little bit of fun. As I mentioned above I was afraid I had completely sacrificed (pun intended) a fun game for a moody game.

A Heart of Light by Mr ChocolateSalmon 2018-12-14T08:24:47Z

Hey thanks @azayiah and @supr for your comments! I'll try and check out your games when I get a chance

A Heart of Light by Mr ChocolateSalmon 2018-12-16T23:26:14Z

@dwemthy Hey thanks for the feedback mate! Yeah the worms don't get activated till after you pass the bridge out of the starting area :sunglasses:

@huf0001 Thanks for the comment

@plagueofminds Yeah, looking back at the game I realize I made the world to big given the resources you have. If I make a post jam version, one of the first things I'll do is make the map shorter

A Heart of Light by Mr ChocolateSalmon 2018-12-22T00:16:17Z

Necroprancer by Blueman 2018-12-07T03:52:39Z

Good job on a simple and challenging game. Almost finished it, but couldn't quite get past the last part, and didn't want to do the whole thing again. Perhaps the collisions were a little too precise however, and I found that as soon as I died the character would start moving straight away, sometimes causing me to die straight away again. Other than that, good game

Farewell Dear Cargo by ignaciogamedev 2018-12-10T22:45:03Z

Really great game! Felt polished, balancing the plane was fun, and the graphics were beautiful :chicken:

Cosmo Buddy by easy82 2018-12-04T04:07:20Z

Hey, I recommend itch.io for uploading games. Makes it a bit easier to download

Anyways, great game! Love the art style and music. I understand what you were doing with the crew members, but it still kinda just felt like the same character losing lives. Perhaps having each crew member dressed in something slightly different would have given a better effect of different crew members being present.

Also, game ends suddenly if you win or lose. But other than that, I really enjoyed it. :gem:

Cosmo Buddy by easy82 2018-12-04T08:44:22Z

@easy82 Haha cheers mate. It's not a polished as yours. And no worries

Sirius Galactica by Call_me_Nutty 2018-12-07T03:12:41Z

Hey, great job! The art and gameplay were both really polished, and it was fun to play. I was a bit concerned how the oxygen worked, but when I read that it went down at the start of each round, it made more sense. I do agree with others that it's a bit easy to win the game without sacrificing any people or ships. I'd either make the game a little harder, or, make it so you have to sacrifice at least once if you want to make it to the last level.

Flaming Resistance by C1FR1 2018-12-06T06:56:54Z

Very good! Enjoyed the style and simplicity. Had some trouble figuring out how to ignite the second weapon, but it might just be my laptop haha. Other than that, I enjoyed it

Cave Adventures by Lyrcaxis 2018-12-08T10:13:43Z

Great job. The controls were smooth and simple, the music was nice, and the puzzles were easy to understand. Having the X and R buttons was a little weird at first, but I got used to it by the end. It was annoying that sometimes I couldn't tab to the player until I'd placed a minion, but that's just a minor nitpick

ImminENT Danger by Ncadieux 2018-12-06T06:50:18Z

Good job! Really loved the mood and graphics. Had some weird bouncing when I was trying to walk past trees though

Goblin Quest by Pellanor 2018-12-07T10:25:40Z

A nice and neat game. Didn't get as far as a lot of the people here, but still enjoyed the gameplay and story. Good job

Making Ends Meet by agwblack 2018-12-19T08:31:02Z

Nice atmosphere! You captured the theme quite well, and the game-play was simple and easy to grasp, and the music fit nicely as well.

The Lost Company by Whismirk 2018-12-22T01:05:04Z

A great game overall. The UI did feel a bit confusing at first. As someone else said, the big proceed button shouldn't be visible until it's able to be pressed. Also, having the hover reveal the details instead of having to click each character is a great addition, but I'd at least have the currently revealed character highlighted in someway (say, given an extra blue tinge or something), because at times I'd hover over a character, but then accidentally move the mouse a fraction over without noticing, and then rest the character when he may have had full health, etc. So some way to know who was actually being displayed would help with that.

Also, I think a background behind the text in the button right would also help. I completely missed the two percentages at the start.

Finally, having the descriptions of each button on here is good, but having a a description pop up when you hover over the buttons in-game would improve the experience a lot more.

Game-play wise, I think healing needs to do a lot more, even when my troops had all eaten twice, rested, and were healed by the older doctor, their health barely improved. And even surviving another 10 day after repairing the radio is a bit rough.

Overall though, still a great game which great executing of a great concept that really fits the theme.

Just delete them by Dock Frankenstein 2018-12-16T05:21:57Z

Loved it. Similar vibes to Doki Doki Literature Club or Undertale, which was nice. Definitely a unique concept and done well. I did notice a few bugs, such as deleting the buttons and being unable to bring them back for example, but for a game made in a couple days I think you did a great job

2305 : New Generation by Azayiah 2018-12-16T04:39:28Z

I agree that the game had a great framework that I think will be really cool when it's fleshed out a bit more. There didn't feel like a lot to do in the game, and I experienced a long pauses after dialog and interactions, and not being able to move when the suspicion was being displayed was a little annoying as well. But that said, the pixel art was pretty, it had nice sound effects and art, and I loved being able to make a choice at the end of the game :thumbsup_tone1:

Broken people by WTMK_BK 2018-12-17T03:28:57Z

Good for your first attempt. The game is a little nauseating and frustrating at times, especially as the cubes are hard to click on. Maybe just using the mouse cursor instead of having to click would have been better? Anyways, hope you learnt a lot during the Jam

Run From a Bear Simulator by 8LegBomb 2018-12-04T03:56:28Z

Hey good job. Some of the collisions were hard to judge, and even then the jumping and ducking didn't seem to always work

Dilemma by beats 2018-12-04T08:22:18Z

Hard to control the dot. Not quite sure how to do it haha

Bee Defence by antonhvid 2018-12-04T20:43:48Z

Hey beautiful, loved it. It's a very smooth and clean game. Controls are simple, and there's a nice level of difficulty. Good job

Dare to Risk by Morris Beardbarian 2018-12-10T01:31:23Z

Nice gameplay and easy to grasp mechanics. The UI did feel a little clunky at times, and I defintely started to lose track of which tiles I'd used each turn. But other than that, I enjoyed it. Good job

Decisions by Badjano 2018-12-04T04:18:46Z

Really fun. Always love a good puzzle game. Good job dude

Apothecary by huf0001 2018-12-22T00:12:02Z

It's a nice looking game, and the core mechanic is interesting. However, it turns into trial and error really quickly. By the end I was just giving everything to some people to see what would work. It would be nice if a character's file disappeared when you correctly treated them, as opposed to having to redo their prescriptions each time. Good job though!

First time by co181127 2018-12-07T04:06:51Z

Good job on your first entry. Better than what my first entry was haha. Music got a little repetitive, and I found it difficult to understand how you actually became bankrupt, but managed to save 7 people so that's alright

MindMaze by SMOKOKO 2018-12-18T01:28:00Z

The game has a nice mood to it, and the character on the right is a nice addition (though I'm still not sure how he was affected by the levels?)

The controls were a bit odd however, as up should have moved towards the right not the left, and the game-play started to feel a little slow and repetitive by the end; but overall the theme was present and the game was smooth :sunglasses:

Sacrificed supplies by EddenSoft 2018-12-04T03:49:21Z

Nice and simple. Good job. Was a bit confused at the start and wasn't able to restart the game, but picked it up pretty quick.

Colossus by PlagueOfMinds 2018-12-22T01:47:06Z

Great art assets! The gameplay was a little weird. I ended up using shift and up a lot, basically turning into a flying knight that needed to avoid the colossus' arms. And as others have said, using shift too much isn't the best on Windows. Perhaps Ctrl would have been better.

OVERCHARGE by Jonas Tyroller 2018-12-05T10:52:17Z

Amazing game. Quality design and fun to play! A deep difficulty curve, but its to be expected. Really enjoyed watching your video on the creation process as well

LD45 — Start with nothing

Many Mini-Minions by juxipolo 2019-10-28T09:02:05Z

Little bit confused on the goal of the game, some more in-game tutorial prompts would have been nice. Graphics were beautiful though, and it felt like it could be a neat little mobile game. Also congrats on 20 ratings!

cakewalk by ohsqueezy 2019-10-26T06:55:56Z

Hey not bad! Simple and a catchy theme song, and had enough difficulty to provide new challenges each level. Not much else to say. Good job! :cake:

RUST vs THE HIVE by Sol Roo 2019-10-21T10:16:31Z

Not too bad. Felt a little weird and without purpose, and couldn't figure out how to shoot with the right mouse button, but the graphics were nice and the gameplay was smooth. Good effort!

No Bullet Hell by gswong 2019-10-21T10:36:59Z

Love the concept! Execution was pretty good, maybe just the moving needs to be tightened up a bit. A bit more AI would also go a long way with this one. Overall though, I enjoyed it! Good job :sunglasses:

Ghost Memories by 966623 2019-10-21T10:31:03Z

Aw lovely little game. The mechanics were nice & unique, and the short story was well done. The menu however was a bit hard to navigate. It might have been better using the left/right arrow keys to go between the two sides, as sometimes pressing Z & X didn't do the thing it was supposed to. But other than that, well done! :ghost:

Handee by Mr ChocolateSalmon 2019-10-14T03:09:50Z

Thanks @simon-rahnasto @bilalch213 @velvetlobster for the comments! I definitely wanted to prioritize experience over game length. As I was presenting at PAX Australia, I was only able to dedicate a day to making the game, so probably could have included more content had I had more time. But anyways, thanks again, I'll be sure to check out your games as well

Thanks guys @doodums, @abdul-zakkar, @bungalow, @ohsqueezy, @rrawrr. I'll be sure to check out your games!

Was sure I stopped the endless drop on the right, but thanks for telling me anyways!

Handee by Mr ChocolateSalmon 2019-10-28T23:04:36Z

@madbarron well that was the emotion I wanted to enact in the player, that they were the monster. But if they didn't pick up on that, I wanted there to be an ending where they've built up all this experience, and yet it ended up being useless as the monster only had 1hp. And they're forced to walk back through all the death and destruction they caused.

Thanks for playing anyways!

Shi no ganbo by Simon Rahnasto 2019-10-14T03:37:35Z

Really nice game with beautiful 2D art and music. The movement felt a little off to me, especially in the early platforming section, and sometimes items I threw would get caught if I was still too close to a wall. But I enjoyed the game and the short narrative woven into it. Good job!

ØJE by Gaming Night 2019-10-16T06:19:04Z

A brilliant game. Everything from the art, to the feel, to the gameplay was top notch. I really love how you're building up your level, and can choose to win the game early at any point. And also how you can restart with nothing, and destroy all your creation. If there was one thing I didn't like, however, it was that some parts felt quite frustrating and annoying. Especially accidentally hitting a lower checkpoint, or some of the platforming requirement minute accuracy. Overall though, a beautiful well done game!

Merge 'em Wars by Call_me_Nutty 2019-10-18T11:36:37Z

Pretty good game. Trading was a little weird at first, I thought I'd be able to combine things of different types to create new cards, but could really only merge cards of the same types. Game play loop was smooth, graphics were nice, and overall I enjoyed playing

When Nothing Came by velvetlobster 2019-10-16T06:46:14Z

Absolutely beautiful! I love game that take a different approach, and this was perfect for a game jam, and used the theme in an excellent way. You could tell it was something you were passionate about, and it shows in the art style, the flow of the game, and the story. The music did cut out quite early for me for some reason, but returned again after I'd explored the house which was fine. Oh, and on that, I really like how you'd be able to completely walk past the house if you weren't clicking on everything. Nice touch! Congrats on a great game

Ludum and the Lost Pages by solluxx 2019-10-28T08:52:33Z

A nice polished platformer with simple mechanics. The abilities were pretty good, it just may have been good if the invincibility showed you how long was remaining, as a couple times I thought it didn't finish until the countdown was over. Overall though, I enjoyed it! Good job

A Dream of Wings by Lumos 2019-10-26T08:06:40Z

I really enjoyed the story, and the mechanics were well done. It perhaps got a little repetitive after a while, and begging still felt like a better option than working, but I achieved a couple different endings and still enjoyed the game. Congrats!

Slinger by Bungalow 2019-10-25T09:00:04Z

A smooth and enjoyable platformer. I understood the sling mechanic, but it did feel a little too precise and unforgiving at times. Adding a bit of support so it doesn't directly throw you into spikes if you press when you're right on top of it (or as someone else, adding a grace zone) would be ways to make it a little more user-friendly.

The boss fight at the end was really great, if perhaps a sudden shift from the original tone. But again, based on my game I can't complain about that too much aha. The sling again though in that last section was a little hard.

But overall, love the direction and execution and hope you continue it further

The beginning of the end by Thomas_Bringer 2019-10-26T08:44:35Z

The game was really great, and I loved the story and concept. The dialog boxes being reversed was also a nice touch. A couple of sections confused me a bit, making me think I had to backtrack, and the music got a little repetitive as a result, but other than that I enjoyed it!

Naked Guy by kaeveris 2019-10-21T09:44:04Z

Nice little game with simple mechanics. However, I found that even if you were caught, you could continue playing and get to the end to pass each level. But other than that it was a good simple game

Basil by Abdul Zakkar 2019-10-25T20:49:38Z

Excellent and well polished game! Was literally bout to make a comment that there wasn't enough challenge after everything had been made, but then noticed that the rafts burnt up after a period of time. Simple but fun! Good job!

Warp Trash Flotilla by GoogleFrog 2019-10-19T09:56:33Z

Definitely one of my favourites so far. Concept and execution are top notch. Add more levels and I'd happily play them. Great job!

My Stuff is in There! by Madbarron 2019-10-28T08:41:37Z

Instant classic

Nah it was actually pretty good! The story was great and had a good message behind it. The gameplay was simple and easy to understand (once I realized about 'listening' to other characters - perhaps that should have been emphasised a little more). I think you did a great job! Congrats

Leverage by BilalCh213 2019-10-14T10:35:56Z

Mate, I won it but it's tough. Some of the mechanics make it more frustrating than challenging at times, but the idea behind keeping all the switches turned on was interesting. I did enjoy all the abilities, and winning the game felt rewarding, but there was times where I accidentally turned off my own switches which got annoying. The way it introduces turning the switches on was good, but I don't think there's a reason the player would turn off the switches, so I'd probably disable it :)

Overall, I enjoyed it

Sand&Sea by CaptAndrey 2019-10-26T07:25:54Z

Lovely little game. Took me a while to understand what to do, and I didn't really have a need to place sand which kinda confused me. But once I knew you had to click the images down the bottom to place sand creations, I was able to win the game. Congrats on a great game! :beach:

Kitty Litter Defence by Doodums 2019-10-27T11:36:42Z

Gorgeous game. Got a little repetitive, but the abilities were nice and simple. Fits the theme fine as well. Good job!

Soul Avenger by Kaizo 2019-10-16T06:33:38Z

The art and theme were great! Some of the mechanics were a little weird though, the dash wasn't always responsive, opening chests doing do anything half the time, when walking too far to the left/right, sometimes everything would disappear (I assume it jumps you to the otherside), but then sometimes I managed to walk outside of the map into a blue background. But the idea was solid and it was fine for a game made in a couple days

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

Journey to The Core by Holofire 2018-05-15T02:40:10Z

Haha awesome effort. The deck/hand confused me at first, as I couldn't use any card in the deck pile, and it wasn't really explained. But I caught on pretty quick. Overall, it was simple and easy to learn

Bob Ross Adventure by Goutye 2018-04-30T04:37:51Z

Awesome game. My "v" key stopped working at one point, but I really enjoyed the game regardless. Puzzles were great!

The Cavern of Bad Ideas by Jani Nykanen 2018-05-10T03:48:05Z

It's a nice clean game. I really like how enemies make you lose time instead of life, which keeps the game simple and interesting. Bit confused at the start of the game, but it's good none-the-less

Sportsball Adventures by GanonsSpirit 2018-05-15T03:06:54Z

Well, it's interesting. I got a bit confused with the slide (I thought you meant to hold down "x" and press "z", but then I realized you meant hold down "down" haha). Good job for getting a game done in the 24 hours

Discard by CruelMotivator 2018-05-15T10:31:27Z

Wow. I don't know how you guys don't have the 20 rating yet - this is probably my favourite game out of all of the ones I've played so far! The graphics and game-play are so smooth, the audio and rhythm mechanics are almost flawless, and I just love the concept in general. Really good job guys :open_mouth:

Flowers in the frame by oab 2018-05-15T02:52:12Z

Beautiful and smooth game. Love the idea behind it, and I think you've implemented the two genres very well :sunflower:

HappyBlock by PaperAeroplane555 2018-05-15T03:26:34Z

A neat and simple little platformer. Would be nice to have been able to hold down the arrow keys, but overall the game was smooth and easy to understand. Good job

Feel free to play my game as well: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/breacard

Fire and Stone by mango-malarkey 2018-05-15T10:11:04Z

Beautiful graphics and visuals, but the lack of sound was slightly disappointing. When I pressed space-bar to conjure the fire, it didn't appear until I moved, which I thought was a little weird (I think pressing space-bar should count as a move). Finally, the AI felt a little random. But overall, love the direction you took it, and would be interested to see if you flesh it out and add sound to it. Cheers

A Tale of Comedy and Tragedy by jelch 2018-05-14T04:10:45Z

Good game. The puzzles were nice, and the atmosphere was calm. I also liked the character dynamics, but am still a little confused what the second genre you mixed was. Good job none the less!

Regular Chess with Sam by FiloGC 2018-05-15T03:15:21Z

Beautiful game. Definitely some audio would have been great, and a little more content wouldn't have hurt, but honestly as it stands I think it's a powerful and provocative experience :open_mouth:

Puttsy by morrilet 2018-05-14T22:15:22Z

Hey, was a bit confused in the beginning, but it's a great mash up of golf and tower-defense games. I personally have never been a fan of either genre much, but I liked how it turned into a strategy game as well, deciding where you needed to place the towers and where you need to launch the ball. Good job :golf:

¶City by Sophie 2018-05-01T09:56:48Z

Wow, it's such a great concept! Definitely got a bit lost still, but the instructions and help are very clear and concise. Good job! :D

Awesome, probably one of my favourites so far. Everything's so neat and tight. It's great!

Bloom by LuckyFeathers 2018-05-15T03:56:40Z

Simple idea and easy to understand. The game was a bit slow though, so I couldn't play it for too long because it felt like not much was happening, but I love the theme behind it and definitely a welcome change from war and killing that the genre is known for. Good job

If you get a chance, feel free to give you feedback on my game: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/breacard

Tetriphys: The Thing That Should Not Be by kr4ft3r 2018-05-10T12:05:28Z

What have you done...

Haha nah that's a great game! Clear mechanics, gets hectic and funny quite quickly, and the two genres definitely didn't blend that well - but in a good way! Good job

Sniper and Shield by Mohamed_DKD 2018-05-15T09:33:27Z

I like how you could pretty much get through the game without killing anyone. Jumping felt a little weird at times, but the platforming was fine. FPS could have also been given a little more focus, but you managed to not let it overpower the platforming which was good

Soccer Battle Royale by ditzel 2018-05-08T05:01:54Z

Awesome. Some sound would have been nice, especially with the feel-good soundtrack in the trailer, but the game was fun regardless. Clean and simple, and the impossible difficulty put on a smile on my face. Good job :)

Think Before Escape by acoto87 2018-05-08T04:55:35Z

The mechanics are good. I like how it kinda turned into a game where you had to complete the level before the timer ran out. However some of the positions the enemies stopped in were annoying because they stopped me from completing a level until they moved. Otherwise, it's a good simple game.

The game that bad that it is actually good???!!! by Peta 2018-05-15T03:38:06Z

Wow. What did I just play. Funny, really weird, yet somehow still a game haha?

Guitar Fighter by johnnyjw 2018-04-24T05:05:05Z

Awesome. The music is implemented well and goes well with the game. It would have been nice to have been told I actually had to aim as well, and the UI was hard to focus on because of that, but I had a lot of fun with it. Good job :)

Also, thanks for your feedback on my game.

Lost in Spacetime by zeMenno 2018-05-15T11:02:00Z

Nice retro feel and smooth game-play. Also liked how the room was different both times I played, with different enemies I hadn't noticed the first round. Some indication of enemy health would have been nice, but I enjoyed the game none-the-less

If you get time, feel free to check out my game: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/breacard (Only needs a couple more vote )

Change of Pace by DoctorMozart 2018-04-24T01:30:45Z

Hey this was pretty good. I thought it represented the theme fairly well. It did get a little repetitive, and the strategy really just became holding space-bar until the bar is almost depleted, wait for it to fill, and then repeat. But the graphics was nice, the music was good, it was smooth and fun play. Good job :)

Cosmic Cadence by Bodaciouslycrazy 2018-05-15T09:40:48Z

It clean, smooth and easy to learn. I didn't notice any problems with the rhythm, which can be a hard feat with these sorts of games, and I think the graphics were pretty clean as well. Good job :musical_note:

The Cards You're Dealt by Raindrinker 2018-05-08T23:16:23Z

Great style, interesting card mechanic, and cute graphics. Music got a little repetitive, but that's only a minor complaint. Great job

Modern Fairway 4: Spec-Ops in the Rough by Lost Dutchman Software 2018-05-08T04:38:37Z

Tchaikovsky's music, with complete lack of auto-aim, with almost impossible to hit ball, with ending up falling into the hole that I think the ball was supposed to go in = an awesome game. Good job

Crane Quandary by Strato 2018-05-08T09:39:53Z

Beautiful. I love it. I can't pick much I don't like. The only thing I didn't understand was that you needed the coins to use the machine - but in hindsight it makes sense. Otherwise, a great game.

SinglePlayerMMO by InventorOfStuff 2018-05-15T03:44:36Z

Good job on your first game. Aiming with the mouse and attacking with space-bar felt a little weird, but the game itself was pretty simple :v:

If you get time, feel free to check out my game: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/breacard

Pipionem by Aleix Ramon 2018-05-15T02:31:20Z

Hey good job. Loved the music and aesthetics of the game. The clicking in time was a little weird, as it turned more into clicking when the meter reached each line as opposed to clicking in time with the game. The tutorial could be a little more in depth, but I understand there's not much to know about the game aha. Overall clean and fun

SnakeTD by Klerembot 2018-04-24T01:37:35Z

Yeah I think the game needed a little bit more time. BUT, that said, you have a pretty solid foundation here. Mechanics for placing turrents is interesting (would have preferred a button instead of hitting into a wall, as it becomes quite hard to place turrents then quickly move before the wall kills you), and it played fairly well.

For some reason I had to refresh the screen before it would load, and every time I died the screen seemed to keep zooming in, but apart from that it was all good.

Your Turn To Jump by Jequed 2018-04-24T12:09:59Z

Really enjoyed this. Was a little slow paced and judging the jumps was a little annoying, as sometimes it wasn't evenly on the floor. But definitely fun, unique, and encompassing of the theme. Good job :)

Maroon by juju 2018-04-25T00:52:16Z

Hey it was good. I think like the others I was experiencing the same glitch where my character would respawn right on top of an enemy, dying straight away. But the game was smooth, and I loved the graphic style. Good job :)

Witch's Escape by cristiano.m.garcia 2018-05-08T04:46:14Z

Hey not bad! I do think the game's a bit easy, especially in the beginning. I think the character should start just a little faster, and the multiple combos introduced much earlier. It wasn't until I was having to figure out three different buttons that it started to be challenging. But good job none the less - really love the art style and direction :)

Line'em up by arche-san 2018-05-14T03:53:18Z

Awesome. The two genres went really together! Also had a arcade-style feel to it, which I think you captured fairly well. Good job
