Great Game. I'm certain if you guys had more time you would have finished the game off perfectly. Looking forward to more work from yo guys.
Thank you very much! Yes , we had so much planned for this game but ultimately time was not our friend, watch out for more though!
That was an interesting experience. Yeah it looked like there were a lot of things planned out for the game but time was a factor. Well done!
Yeah there was so much that had to be taken out due to time
There is plenty of sound effects and thrilling emotion π. But the game has a lot of resources from gameMaker studio that I think you're not using. I would consider reducing the space it takes by deleting those unused files
Thankyou!! Yeah the game is made in RPG Maker VX Ace and in order to make it playable off the go without players having to download the stock assets, I had to add them. Would have prefered not having to do so though hahha Thank you
"failed to load archive" after run Game.exe :(((
Hello there,
I've downloaded your game and would like to test it, but the .exe throws me an error message : "Failed to load archive". Could you please help me fix it so that i can review your game ?
@bloodjohn, @quasar47
Sure, basically, you have to run the "ARD Launcher RC2" instead of the game.exe
hope you guys enjoy
Interesting concept, but the execution not very pleasant. The game is extremely slow for everything, whether it is during dialogues, the tutorial, or even walking in the area. The idea of choices that matter is pretty neat though, and fits perfectly well with the theme; it reminds of a lot of similar games I played on my spare time when I was younger. But the fact that everything is slow slow kills the mood for me, especially with that music. It's not bad at all, but it doesn't fit well with the uneasy and fearful atmosphere you tried to create. I'd say you had a lot of ambition for this game, which I can only applaud, but in order to make a game in 72 hours, ambition won't help you in the slightest. I admire the efforts you put in the graphisms and visual effects though, nice job!
@quasar47 Thanks for the tips and ideas, yeah part of why the character's speed drops after the second suspicion rise is due to how i wanted things that happen to the characters to actually affect them in what they can say, how they move and eventually in combat as well and of course many more aspects. But I agree , some parts like the beginning could have been a bit faster. Definitely something i will keep in mind, thank you!!
I've started βARD Launcher RC2β. It showing me 2 screens of messages than error: "Unable to find file: Graphics/Tilesets/World_A1". Can you help me to fix this?
@dexp No problem, looking into it right now, should be fixed by the time you see this, thank you for the report!!!
update: - Hey @dexp, could you try the game again and let me know if the error is still existing or not? For me it seems to be working but I need to know if the patch fixed it!
This game is really good a like the graphics and how you need to make decisions in game I like this game great game mate
Cheers! @manasse ! Glad you enjoyed the Game!!
@azayiah Yep, it is works now, thank you!
I really liked atmosphere, music. Graphics fits it very well. Sounds can be impoved a bit. Technical implementation is a weak side: the window is too small on my screen (2550x1440) so fonts are hard to read. The controls were not very clear for Xbox controller. Keep improving and release a really cool game!
@dexp thanks for the comment! Were you able to full screen with F5 and adjust thee screen with F6? And thanks for the improvements, shall look into them!
Impressive job. Very promising title with a great mood. I suggest you to make inputs clearer and more reactive for texts. Thank you
Amazing work for 3 days. I think it need faster start. Whatever idea is good and bes work wih sound effects
Wonderful atmosphere, though the audiable loop in the water sound at the begining was quite jaring I did enjoy the experience. Very cinematic. Great work!
Hi, this is an interesting project, for some reason it reminded me the first part of the resident evil. The music is very well written and creates the whole atmosphere, the graphics on the level, there is a desire to continue playing and find out what will happen next. Of the minuses, everything happens very slowly, as well as a bit dark in some places. Good luck to you guys.
I like the mood you have going on in this game. Good work, and pretty ambitious for the jam. I think perhaps something that clearly shows no interaction is required while waiting for the next dialog (e.g. black bars from the top and bottom sliding in) as there were times I thought the controls weren't working when I didn't realise there was just a pause in the text before the next line. Also very nice work with the sounds, adds so much to it
You definitely set a mood with this game, it felt pretty atmospheric and it actually felt like I was exploring this world, rather than a game. The gameplay itself felt very sparse however, I barely felt like I was playing anything, which I gather stems from the story based approach you were going for. I would have liked to see more of the story but I understand 72 hours is not much time to create this world. The graphics were quite stunning, but felt inconsistent. I loved the look of the game when I opened it up, it was bright, and detailed and felt grundgy and digital, yet when I started the game it was so dark I couldn't see anything and there were no animations (I don't know if that was a problem with my game however). Overall I'm interested to see how this game develops, as I can see what you are going for, but things like that animations and pace could probably be fixed up. Great work getting all this done in a Jam however.
Very good framework for a nice storytelling oriented game. I hope to see more of it.
The blinking mouse cursor was a bit annoying and was breaking the immersion. Especially because it is the windows cursor and it wasn't in line with the graphical chart of the game. As it's very dark, an option to set the gamma seems also an important feature to think about.
Bottomline well done!
@v1ru6 Thanks for the comment and thank you even more for the improvements!
About the mouse thingy, I really don't know because the game does not use the mouse and the mouse shouldn't even be visible by default so no clue what's going on there, was there something maybe in the background? I shall most definitely look into it tho!
Neat. Great entry with a good storyline. Weird mood with a well written music. Thanks ++
I agree that the game had a great framework that I think will be really cool when it's fleshed out a bit more. There didn't feel like a lot to do in the game, and I experienced a long pauses after dialog and interactions, and not being able to move when the suspicion was being displayed was a little annoying as well. But that said, the pixel art was pretty, it had nice sound effects and art, and I loved being able to make a choice at the end of the game :thumbsup_tone1:
I get a 'failed to load archive' error.
@jupiter-hadley Sure, In order to Launch the game, instead of pressing the game.exe, press the "ARD Launcher RC2"
Wow, this was a really ambitious game. It didn't feel like a jam game at all. Really nice mood and atmosphere. Great job, people!
Probably the best example of a very good game made in 72 hours with a theme in mind, I liked everything in it especially art style!
@macro @dzmitry-pukhouski Thank you very much for the encouraging comments! Comments like these really encourage us to do way better!!
Loved the vibe and audio direction; really well done. However, the controls were pretty unresponsive. Other than that, keep it up!
honestly great game here, i can tell u put effort in this :D would love for u to rate mine too <3
It was like a mature game product rather than a jam work... sophisticated narration, good tutorial, and fantastic atmosphere. Even shaders were used. I believe you guys would have made it more wonderful had there been more time.
That was promising, but after couple of minutes which I spent on pushing through menus I got bored and frustrated because I couldn't make any impact interaction with the game world. I also noticed, that everything is so dark, that I have to squint my eyes just to see things. Also, I couldn't shutdown the game.
I'm sorry, I didn't like it. But I'm a more like arcade player, so maybe I'm not the target for this type of game.
It is a good game, I love the concept
A polished entry that serves a serious project and a serious work. You are very implicated in your project and this is visible. Particulary I have to say that there is a great work on the backgrounds. Hope the best for the future of your project.
Really awesome for a jam entry, I would love to see it fleshed out more with some more time to work on it. It has good mood and atmosphere. Great job!
Wow really incredible jam entry, so cool that you all were able to make that in 72 hours, great job! I am really looking forward to seeing what you come up with with more time. Your audio and graphics were really great, but I would love to see some more deeper gameplay mechanics and puzzles. It will be interesting to see how the player's choices affect the game. It was really cool to see the beginning phases of something really special. Best of luck!
I had problems with running the game. After some time I figured it out and when I opened it windows started saying that I had a virus. Lol. Overall a very good game.
