One of the best story of this Ludum dare I think. And a real work for the ambience.
A lot of situations. It remind me board game (I think it's clearly the main inspiration, with probably the movie apocalypse now). In any case it's complete, interesting and there is a nice atmosphere.
Accessible, efficient, playable with another person, polished, fun, good rereading of pong (or windjammers perhaps): that's what I were thinking when I played your game.

Firstly it's very interesting, kind, and great that you put your game development timelaps. Then for your entry itself, the concept is interesting and fun. There is an arcade feeling. The graphics are a bit poor, nevertheless this is a compo so I don't throw stone at you.

At first I was thinking about Kentucky route zero (especially the atmosphere). Nevertheless there is a touch of humor that makes me feel something totally different. It's a great experience because you play with the patience and the nerves of the gamer. And you break the wall of the videogame. Honestly I don't think I will find an entry as original as your in this LD43.
Amazing graphic feed-back and visually very original (you made something very interesting with simple geometrical forms, great job). The gameplay is polished and the game itself is addictive. Very fun, very neat.

It's as frantic as Sonic the hedgehog. Why? I think it's because of the background, the run and the rhythmical music. In any case graphics and music are well worked.

The notion of sacrifice make sense in your entry: I had to make choices in my "inner heart". In any case it's an original concept somewhere between jeopardy and tragedy.

So we had to make sacrifices (lol mise en abîme^^) -Other sacrifices: a dash with artisitic effects ; a mecha for the 2nd level that chase you ; and last but not least: some sprites I created are not insered (*sob *sob)

Post mortem facts @everybody: As you could see the coin-op style was voluntary added to fit with the sacrifice theme, and with the story we created for the game. We are not so cruel normaly :smirk: :smile:
Mais c'est super original! Au début on se dit que le jeu n'est pas abouti. Cependant au fur et à mesure des parties le jeu prend de la densité. En clair l'investissement est récompensé, donc une très bonne replay-value.

So I think I found the most beautiful game of this LD47. Astuning art direction too. I must admit I had chosen watercolor style for my game, but your execution of that style is a step above mine (maybe a lot of steps I think :smile: )

I can see a true mechanic of lasso and it works (that's what I wanted to implement in my game, but because of time...). The gameplay is fluid, and graphically it's interesting

There are a lot of things we should have worked on more. Some details to improve, or some choices concerning mechanics. Nevertheless in three days you know it was very hard (especially because of the tough theme think).

When I understood the mechanics (2nd or 3rd run, and after pressing X..) I figured out that was a solid entry:
-Atypical graphics
-Interessant gameplay fits with player's skill
-Good level design
You made something very personnal (not common) and this is the essence of a ludum dare. Well done !
