LD37 — One room

Keyhole by Gord10 2016-12-14T13:52:00

Nice job!
Really good atmosphere and I think you managed to deliver the horror/uneasiness feelings through the players.

Room 007 by Lancelot Gao 2016-12-14T13:15:00

This was fun! Polished, well executed! Good job!
I really enjoy one idea being iterated over and improved within the same constraints.
Of course that means it might feel repetitive sometimes, and the fact that I couldn't tell my progress didn't help but these things are easily addressable.
And the whistle was a nice touch!

Insecticide by meownsk 2016-12-14T15:21:00

Lovely graphics!
Aiming was indeed a bit off, sadly. Maybe some more balancing on the shooting as well?

WRK by novotmike 2016-12-14T14:06:00

Good job! This is my favorite one so far. Really enjoyed how the mechanics deliver on the message you wanted to give players. Great mood, as others have said. Really enjoyed the experience!

LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Spirit Dungeon by Tarcisiotm 2019-01-04T14:21:20Z

Thank you all for the feedback!

I deeply appreciate the detailed feedback provided.

Sorry for the spikes! Sadly this was the case of being too close to the game: I played those areas so much that the difficulty wasn't there for me anymore, and I didn't get the chance to have someone test it for me before submitting the game. Next time I'll try to have someone play it to make sure I am not facing the "dev's blindness". My intention was not to have something super "hardcore", but something just and challenging, so I failed there.

Also agree with the zooming. I believe it got the feeling of "claustrophobia" I wanted to give players in some parts, but it was definitely overused and didn't work all around the game. I will be paying more attention to that next time, for this entry, however, to some extent, I wanted to have worked more on it, but of course ran out of time.

I could also have worked better on the ramping up the difficulty, especially with the spikes, to get users used to it before really pushing it to the edge.

Thank you all again for taking the time to do this, and until next time!

Nice game! Really easy to pick up, great graphics and sound design. Good job!

LD46 — Keep it alive

Bakeneko no Ko by makkurataichou 2020-04-21T22:26:24Z

Well done! I really enjoyed the writing, the pacing, the cute illustrations and I am looking forward to the true ending!

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Walls by Omiya Games 2021-04-28T02:54:30Z

Really liked how distinct this game felt in this jam. Nicely executed, good job!

Descending by khofez 2021-04-29T03:39:09Z

What a solid entry! Really polished, liked the atmosphere, controls well. Good job!

Dimensions by Tarcisiotm 2021-05-02T02:35:41Z

Hi, everyone. Thanks for playing our game!

Sadly this entry was a bit of a classic game jam situation: we just took too long to "find" the game. Once we did, though, we got the systemsin place, we could have done any number of dimensions, but we basically had no time left for level design, UI improvements, etc. We managed to make the second level one our before the deadline. But this was so much fun!

We really appreciate all the comments mentioning desire to play for more. We might keep working on this and see where it will take us.

Dimensions by Tarcisiotm 2021-05-07T16:45:57Z

@omiya-games thanks for the feedback!

Sadly we ran out of time. The system supported N dimensions, but we just weren't able to create them in time.

We also weren't able make cosmetic changes between the dimensions within the deadline, as mentioned by @ismael-rodriguez, or add a HUD indicator. Those were things we really wanted to do, but we might actually keep working to make this into a proper prototype and see where it goes.

> Retrieve Legs by UC101 2021-04-28T03:39:32Z

Nice intro! I also liked how experimental this entry was. Really appreciated this. Good job.

Mr. & Ms. Deeper: Descent to Inner Depth by SIGILL 2021-04-27T19:54:41Z

Good job! Really enjoyed the puzzle nature of it. As previously said, a solid entry!

The only thing I'd love to see improved is the cameras vs the red arrow. It was a bit difficult sorting those out, and trying to find alignment for the puzzles was a trial and error sort of thing.

Scython by BinarySpark 2021-04-28T18:52:11Z

Solid entry! Really well executed, snappy interface, gorgeous art! Good job.

The corruption was a little difficult for me to understand, along with the towers functions, but once understood, they work well.

Yawning Fathoms by primitive-concept 2021-04-28T15:40:02Z

Now this was a nice surprise! Really clever approach to text adventures. I appreciate how different/experimental this entry was. With a bit more polishing, fix some of the null references in some of the scenes, this could definitely be published.

As for some more practical feedback: - I played for a LOT of days until game over, and I didn't understand most of the items / economy of the game - Does the initial choice change anything? - Some null refs on dialogues - "Press ESC to continue" might be a bit counter-intuitive

Good job on making this solid entry!

The Fall of Alice by kr4ft3r 2021-04-29T18:03:19Z

I have to be honest, when I first tried the game, after reading your description, I thought it was just Alice falling and that was it. But after reading the comments I realised there should be more than that, so pressing the arrow keys really "started" the game for me. That is something to watch out for. That first time player experience.

I appreciate how experimental this was. Good job!

Going Down by omer1615 2021-04-29T23:49:18Z

What a great entry! Congrats on making this. I appreciate how experimental this entry was. Great job!

Doomino's Pizza by Ryfi 2021-04-29T15:03:28Z

Nice entry! Graphics, music and mood / humour all on point. Surprised by the overall polish on this entry. Good job!

I wish the controls were a bit easier to handle, and also that the Jump could have been another button (spacebar, perhaps even as a redundant alternative). Movement felt to me be a tad too fast as well.

Lower Floor by FoxPlayer 2021-04-28T15:18:28Z

Liked the atmosphere and the music. For some reason the game only worked for me on fullscreen. With some textures / effects in place, this could have been terrifying to play.

Lower Floor by FoxPlayer 2021-05-03T23:15:39Z

@foxplayer I was playing it on Firefox. It might just be something to do with Unity's WebGL template, since it works perfectly when in full screen. I could not see the UI / items when not in FS.

Curiosity by Bodaciouslycrazy 2021-04-28T02:32:06Z

Nice graphics, really enjoyed the atmosphere! Liked how different this game looks and plays. I just couldn't understand much about the death conditions, but otherwise great job! =]

Snake Oil by OrdiNeu 2021-04-28T02:47:00Z

Loved the art style and the animations. Even though it is a jam, it looks like a fully realised world, so good job on that!

Below the Ocean by Ismael Rodriguez 2021-04-29T16:34:37Z

What a great entry! Loved the tether mechanic. Sounds and graphics were lovely as well. A nice difficulty ramp. Really cleverly designed and executed. Good job! Only feedback I'd give is perhaps the controls could be a tiny bit more responsive. PS: loved the ending! This is definitely one of my top 2 games thus far.

Below the Ocean by Ismael Rodriguez 2021-04-29T18:20:15Z

Hi, @ismael-rodriguez

The other one would be this unexpected, recursion heavy [tower defense game](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/48/tower-tower-defence-defence).

Once again, good job on this entry!

escape by Matt Swieboda 2021-04-28T02:23:48Z

Nice job! Liked the graphics and the helpful tips. With some level design work, as mentioned, I could see this going far. I couldn't find in the description what was the button for the action, but once I did, I confirmed what has been said about certain death. Too early for something like that, perhaps.

Tower Tower Defence Defence by IAmWave 2021-04-28T17:40:29Z

Thanks for making this game. This is currently my favorite entry, by far!

Really liked how simple but effective and detailed the tiles are, especially the tower ones. Concept is endearing, and really well executed. Liked the music, the effects, the art, interactions are snappy and feel good. I played all the way to wave 136 when it started getting slow.

My suggestions / feedback: - One thing that might help a LOT when you start the game as a new player would be having the vortex that handles damage be a different icon. It took me around 3 tries to realize why I was dying. I could assume all dimensions could hurt me, but they only hurt the upgrades. - Balancing: I don't think there is any point using the first tower other than to place the very first one. The second one is much more powerful and have the same specs. - It would be cool if players could choose their level of recursion, and not having all the towers have that by default. This could be as simple as just placing your first tower would start recursion for a tower. Might help scale things further a bit. - One design concern I would have is how to scale this if you move forward with making this into a "full game" (for me it already is, I hope you know what I mean). Since you already have sort of a recursion thing. I wonder if you could flesh this out in a way players would always play this one level, but the inner ones would also present something unique and worth pursuing other than just powering up your main one (which in itself is already a super cool and well executed concept, in my opinion).

Again, just wanted to say congratulations on making this gem of a game!

Altum Altum by Maxwell3000 2021-04-29T16:43:09Z

Good job with this entry. Really hard to play but fun once you grasp the concept. This must be really difficult to design the levels and especially to scale. I liked how experimental this game felt, and I enjoyed going through the levels.

Ludum Dare 48 - Deep Dive by chimp 2021-04-27T19:59:15Z

Great atmosphere and really liked the simple animations. This was short but fun!

Only thing that I'd change for this is that it seems counter-intuitive to lose depth when you also lose some of your O2.

Gaze into the Deeper by TureGrappa 2021-04-28T02:40:19Z

Well executed and fun. Good job! =]

Into the Deep Web by Jon Topielski 2021-04-29T14:42:55Z

Good job on this entry! Really polished! I like the mix of Dicey Dungeons and Pokemon. Loved the initial sequence, gameplay felt good. Snappy interface. Overall a solid entry!

Swan Forest by makkurataichou 2021-04-28T02:14:42Z

Nicely done. Loved the palette you chose for this, the audio and the writing. I love how sweet your games are. Got both endings =]

Falling Rock by snip_man 2021-04-27T20:06:28Z

That's the best programmer art I have ever seen. Good job. Had fun playing it.

Wish there was a score or something of the sort. At first I thought I only had to jump, so that's why I imagined this being a best score kind of game, but I was wrong. Afterwards, I was able to beat the game. Once again, good job!

Into the Deep by Adam K 2021-04-28T03:47:19Z

Good job on finishing your first jam! Simple and to the point, and you still managed to get an upgrade system in place.

Not The Urchins! by Cammin 2021-04-28T04:00:34Z

Really liked this entry! Made me want to try compo next time. Enjoyed the atmosphere, animations, music. I also liked how light was used, I think the volumetric light worked well and I liked how the game goes darker but you can bring back some light, which makes everything lovely. Great job!

Neon Maze by OMG BlackBeard 2021-04-28T03:52:55Z

Really stylish! Liked how colorful this game was. Just wish there was some texture to the walls / floor to better measure distance / progress. Good job!

Don't hit anything by Martinek 2021-04-28T20:09:27Z

Loved the art style and how snappy it feels to jump off of the main menu into the game. Good job!
