This is Awesome! The Music is very catchy. And the Maze is Amazing
Cool Character controller! However, it would be better if I turned the camera, the character moved on forward key press in the direction Im looking. Good job nonetheless :)
Cool styled!
cool game, although not much to do. Great job on art and music.
Cool first entry! The hallways could be a little bit smaller but other than that its fine. Keep it up!
Thank you @shotgunsamurai @alina-baybulatova @craplex
Thank you @rhewid
player's skeletal animation looks awesome. I wonder what kind of code they have in engine side to get it working so smoothly. The maze looks nice colourful too.
Nice game, good job! The camera got a little buggy on when trying to walk through the side path.
Playing on the WebGL version on Chrome, it seems like there's an issue with the controls and camera. The animations are smooth and the character looks pretty cool, though the hallways feel way too long even with sprinting. It got a little boring a few minutes in when all I was doing was walking through hallways and around spinning cubes. Also the hallway texture is transparent at the bottom, letting me see the ground and skybox. All in all, a bit lacking in fun but it's a very solid entry!
Thank you @tero-pulkkinen @ruyoliveira @bunner for your feedback. I agree, in the WebGL version the camera rotation is bit faster. I wanted to control that via settings, but there was no time left. However, you will find the controls in the desktop/mac version better than WebGL.
I hope you guys liked the Music though. We're planning to add more tracks and some activities for the long hallway.
Thank you again for playing.
Really awesome game! Love the idea and love the thumping music. My only gripe is character movement not being tied to where my camera is facing! Took me a little bit to get used to that but overall this is a really great game!
Really stylish! Liked how colorful this game was. Just wish there was some texture to the walls / floor to better measure distance / progress. Good job!
The look is polished, the music is nice which create, it took me a while to understand I could move the cursor to look around. It was strange to move laterally for a long time...
I could see the skybox while hugging the wall. Maybe just change the environement to be a uniform color.
I got bored before finding anything...
Visuals and colors are really nice.
Thank you @dagostino-audio @tarcisiotm @dhim @rhoff95. You might be surprised to know that the neon textures and the background beats were done by an 8 years old champ @thatwhizkid
Sorry to say this, but the game was not very enjoyable for me. I made it all the way to the end, but it was really tedious and boring due to nothing to do rather than holding the movement key into one direction + shift to sprint. At least I was able to watch Youtube next to it, which made the time fly past a little faster.
Due to a comment from you, I assume that you worked on this game together with your child which means I'm not going to judge the music and textures that critically. They are very good for an 8 year old.
But the game mechanics and the game loop are just boring. I hope you can admit that too. There is no challenge and the maze is not really a maze because it's just a huge H-letter. It would have been nice if there was an actual maze and the player was forced to find their way to the keys. Don't try to buy game time by just making stuff longer. You could have also had some jumping sections or actual obstacles that hurt/kill the player so that people have to watch out. Regarding the controls, it would have been nice if the camera would also turn the player and W would always make the player run forwards. There should be enough tutorials out there for a proper 3D character controller to achieve this. Other than, a different texture would have been nice to get a feeling for the movement speed and distance, but that was already mentioned.
Please don't take my feedback as negative, I'm trying to help you make this and future games better.
Have a nice day.
Nice vibes and overall mood! The music fit well too.
There wasn't really hook you too keep playing after soaking in the atmosphere a bit. The walls might benefit from some variation along the z-axis - as they were just straight lines it didn't seem like you were moving and it was a bit tough judging distances.
Sick character and animation! Very nice. One thing that I wasn't happy with was the feeling that the character was running in place.
Thank you @backurio . Absolutely. Yes it is true, I made this game with my 8yo kid. He is crazy about coding and gaming and wanted to make some cool stuff. Also he wanted to take part in actual hack-a-thon. So I taught him and lead him.
So the overall game jam experience was very thrilling. And the sense of achievement. But I agree that the time was not enough to put health system, more obstacle and a bit difficult maze.
But sure, we would definitely work on those areas and release another version as the time permits.
Thank you @neontropics and @szymon-ogd .
Very nice job with the animation -- it looks great!
some nice elements in this submission - character model is decent and animations are stitched together well - atmospheric tunes are appropriate - the neon / laser texture on the walls of the tunnel are kinda cool in how they transition, but we don't have any indication of forward motion. its a bit like the player is standing still, with objects being hurtled from a distant point - when i realized the mouse cursor looked around, I became disoriented, and had to control the backwards run of player with reversed input
overall - not bad!
