Pretty fun! Though at level 6 I didn't have access to any programs I coded anymore...

Pretty fun! Though at level 6 I didn't have access to any programs I coded anymore...
Cover.png
A fun take on cultist simulator mechanics! If I hadn't played cultist sim before, I woulda been really lost. As it is, it's pretty decent.
Fun! I liked the graphics, but it was too easy to just spam energy nodes and ram them into enemies instead of ever making a gun.
This was quite fun, although I think the zones stopped changing after a while and the rocks became invisible. It'd be nice if we could upgrade our pickaxe -- after a while the *tink tink tink tink tink tink* noise went from rhythmic to repetitive.
Hard.png
Quite difficult! I enjoyed your take on the theme, and the puzzles-that-give-you-letters!
10/10 would pay 1000 pixels to get better friends again.
Interesting game! I enjoyed it, though it took me a while to figure out the controls (I kept trying to figure out what key the search icon to open the builder referred to until I realized it was an upper case Q -.-)
Very cute and fun! The music and sound effects were perfect for a pleasant Halloween romp!
"If you find this game hard, try getting better at it" -- hahahahaha that's great.
Interesting game, but I was confused as to what the meters were. The first is civilian happiness, the second is defense and the third is... desire for peace? Or peacefulness?
Also things kept on popping up right before the level ended so I kept on missing events.
I agree with everyone else -- the amibuns are adorable! I agree that the zoomed in camera helps keep it frantic, and I spent a lot of the game trying to find all of the manuals (which made it a bit of a game in itself). Good job!
Love the level design! A good tutorial is hard to make, and this one was excellent at teaching the controls!
Pretty cool on such a short deadline! I liked it quite a bit, kudos to the 3d modeller and whoever did the shader for the boss (the starry effect looks quite nice!)
This was really good! I loved the cozy artstyle even while I was francitcally trying to figure out which chair the cat had hidden behind (there's quite a few -- I wasn't sure if I was going to be penalized for a wrong guess so I died wondering if there was anything else in the hint).
Thanks everyone for the feedback! We really appreciate it -- I'll release a post jam version with notifications for life-drainers later.
Does the keygen take a long time to open or something? I got stuck there. Otherwise, really cool game!
Pretty interesting concept, but as others have said it's a bit lacking in things to do. I loved the old Dungeon Keeper games, so this game felt like it was going for a cool thing! Looking forward to other games you make -- the art in this one is fantastic!
The game was pretty fun, though I feel like the "New Hero In Town" song is slightly off beat. This also felt less about keeping something alive as it was about killing something.
Interesting idea! I liked the graphics, though I wasn't sure how to beat some of the enemies that took away half the oxygen bar (without overstressing the heart). I also didn't know there were perfect pumps until reading these comments. Overall well done, though!
A short but fun romp! I liked the unsettling music as it got towards the tense scene. Plot was a bit of a Deus Ex, but otherwise pretty good!
Music and graphics are great! I love the little details, like the small pause whenever you hit things. Would have loved some more early game upgrades (the rifle shot takes quite a while to save up to)
Ambitious, but as it is there isn't much to play...
Pretty fun concept! Unfortunately the levels tended to drag on a bit too long, but the evolution mechanic you have was really fun!
This was really good! I love these sorts of management games (Dwarf Fortress, etc.)! Took me three hours and two restarts, but I finally managed to beat it!
Loved the names of the books, that was a really nice touch. I felt like the monks would go to sleep/eat way too early (looks like 30% of their bar remaining?).
It was funny seeing that it took me 36 years to complete (Is that minutes?)
I wasn't able to kill them sometimes... I kept mashing "2" which killed one of the fear viruses but not another (although my ammo kept on going down). Maybe an aiming reticle would help?
Short and sweet! Well done!
I liked it quite a bit! I lost my first time when I realized I had too much weight and not enough other stuff, but my second try I was going to win but discovered the vaccine instead. Pretty neat balancing act!
I get a 404 at that URL -- have you set the game to public yet?
Not bad, I liked the split mechanic (although sometimes your split flames would collide with one another and sometimes they wouldn't).
Thsi was really well done! I loved how you used the theme, and it was fun enough that I was replaying it quite a few times!
The game's alright, although sometimes the characters would just ignore you when you click them (especially when they're on their way home), so it seemed impossible to prevent infections. An interesting take on a "prevent the spread of infection" theme.
Aww, fired after 125 times. This was a great difficulty curve, well done!
Good entry! A bit too easy (it seems impossible to die if you just ram your ship into everything, since the enemies drop energy pretty often), but it was fun for a few minutes! Well done!
Interesting concept, but the game itself was a bit lacking. The strange perspective definitely made it difficult to figure out what was going on, and though it looked like you had more things planned (Resource Points, Tower _01_) there wasn't much to it. With some more effort this could be good, though.
Good on you for sticking it out and submitting anyway! While I see where it was going, it seems like it'd be pretty complex to try and finish in such a short time frame by yourself.
Pretty cool game! I liked it once I understood how all of the minions worked. There's not much grace period in the beginning for learning how it works -- maybe starting off with a slower health decay rate would be helpful.
I also got a screen saying "Entrar ContraseΓ±a". I can't seem to access the game at all.
I get a 404 at your link. Did you set the game settings to "Public"?
I'm not 100% sure what you're supposed to do -- I just mashed buttons and suddenly it told me I won. Description says to wear headphones -- was there audio at all?
Does the game go past the V3 sign? The music stopped and I wasn't sure whether or not anything was happening
I think someone's up after you kill the first boss -- the screen turns red but no second boss spawns.
Great idea! That was really fun to play! Got stuck trying to figure out the "Future Proof" level D:
Pretty neat game! One of the levels (4th?) spawned with a bunch of minerals, but no water or goal, so I had to give up. Not sure what happened.
This game was really neat! The upgrade card is easily the MVP of this game and kept it interesting -- trying to balance out the right number of upgrade cards definitely kept me thinking. The blend of genres was pretty unique too!
Neat escape-room-ish idea! I liked the atmosphere of the game. Pretty well done!
This game was amazing! I only wish there was more to explore. The mechanics reminded me of Dicey Dungeons, but it was incredibly polished for something done in 48 hours. Well done!
Yay, perfect score! The SFXs were nice.
Wow. This is a really cool deckbuilder! I was able to survive for 37 days... the Bible is really OP. It's pretty fun!
Wow, absolutely stunning! I liked the idea of uncovering jobs, though I lost a god or two that needed snakes way before I had them unlocked (turned out it was like, five things too early). The visuals on the left were neat, I like the snake-head-looking one.
Is it ironic if I play this while at work? :P
In all seriousness though, I love the minigames. There's a good level of polish in this game!
Love games with metaprogression elements! The idea is short but sweet. Well done!
lmao these four people really love standing around chugging coffee and screaming for more.
@attala Thanks! My roommate heard we were making a game so he came to us with a piano rendition! He really knocked it outta the park
@danc2236 Wait we could get rid of the input disruptor? I tried a few different commands, but couldn't figure out how to disable it. Besides that though, pretty neat idea! I liked the Jankdos loading screen
Lmao at the guy's flowerpots. Pretty fun concept, and good execution! I can only imagine having to record the voice sound effect though lol
Pretty neat! I only got 7 coins...
I liked the helicopter view of the player! The controls took a bit of getting used to, but after you master it it feels good to anime jump from rubble to rubble trying to stay afloat lol
Big fan of the pixel art!
Honestly pretty fun! I like the gameboy aesthetic!
Pretty cute cat. Short and sweet. I lol'd at the dancing dude in the credits. Great work!
The HP bar in the game doesn't show up -- this might be due to the resolution have you have set on itch.io Otherwise, neat idea!
Barson.png
Neat take on the idea! It was pretty clear how to play. Only thing I'd mention is that sometimes the window and such weren't interactible, and I'm not sure what the book does. Good job though!
Oh god that was really fun. Good incorporation of the theme, too!
@fireslash Thanks for playing! The deliveries don't need to be in order per se -- just that they'll only take items off the top of your stack (and the order of the items matter).
@obe-dot @samoussa @kanity @niz @wolfier Thank you! JDeeDubs did all of the artwork, music, and writing, so huge props to him for all of that. We went back and forth a bit on how difficult the level progression would be, so I'm glad that the final difficulty wasn't _too_ bad.
@wolfier Interesting! Our playtesters all mentioned that the last level was sort of scary so I made the two levels before it as a way of easing you into larger puzzles. I might have gone overboard a bit with them haha. Will keep in mind for next time. Thank you for the feedback!
Pretty tough! It probably gets easier once you play more and get to know more of the area. However, the character kept on stopping every so often while holding forwards, which made it too frustrating to make much progress.
Interesting game! I liked how smooth the movement felt and the combat was pretty fun. I got stuck along the bottom edge though, and it wouldn't let me move up past that point.
Fun! It's a bit hard to read the cards while they're in your hand, and I couldn't tell if you could edit your deck at all, but overall it was easy to understand and the blue/red/green card split made it feel pretty fun. Good job!
Haha classic Jeff. I noticed the final level you didn't need to fill up the board (or maybe since I filled up the board once and then re-planted everything to get the 1 of everything? Unsure. It's probably the same thing that @gorglomux found.) Overall I really liked the art and small details!
Got 4465. This was a really interesting take on the theme! I loved the little bits of polish, like the particle effects when you grab a green or the popping of new tiles into place. This was really fun!
Nice use of the theme! Very fun sokoban game. The story and music are very pleasant.
A cool, contained puzzle! Would be nice if there was some way to edit the deck, but for 48 hours this had a lot in it! 50 population was easy once you understood how income worked.
Great job! Took me a sec to realize the vehicles on the last level could go in any direction haha. You got the fundamentals for a great game!
@aluminumfool Thanks for playing! @john-gabriel Glad you enjoyed it! @JDeeDubs and @TheDugnutt did an amazing job with the art and music -- huge props to them for it. Thanks for playing!
@nash Neat idea! We originally had WASD + space available, but during playtesting we dropped it to just WASD, and then immediately dropped it to ASD (and then reduced the number of enemies to accomodate). The big thing was that with five keys available, during playtesting no-one was swapping items at all. Anyhow, thanks for playing!
@technonugget Ooo good catch! I learned about Unity import presets very late into the project, so I was swapping everything to point filtering by hand and I'm not surprised that I missed one haha.
@pro4 Glad to see our last minute bandaid fix helped! We were considering just having a "warp back to center" thing, but I figured that this would work better.
@arti-dev @lespaul59 Thanks for playing!
Great music and audio! The puzzles were fun, and I liked how every new mechanic had a level where it showcased how to use it before giving us anything hard. Well done!
22 frogs! Very fun and novel entry! I liked the idea, and the theme fit pretty well. Love the main menu art!
The game's pretty good, a little slow, but I liked the strategy involved in picking 2/3 upgrades. Good job!
I get a 404 not found at the itch page -- did you make the game public on the itch.io page?
Haha, I had a lot of fun with this one. A lot of crossing my fingers and clicking hoping it would go to the right house. It was a bit hard to see the Limited Space theme, but the sound effects made the game feel quite fun!
Interesting game! It took me a sec to realize that you needed to right click to water crops in order to get money from them haha.
Great game! I had to stop once because I couldn't figure out the demon lord one, but after retrying it this morning I finally got to the very end. I loved the music and characters! The puzzles were very well designed, tough but not too tough.
Only got 24/40. Pretty neat puzzle. I kind of wish there was a way to move multiple people at once, e.g. to fulfill the "humans have to be the most in the room" by moving two humans at once to a room. Other than that, the art and music were nice. Good game!
YouMadeIt.png
Short and sweet. The fact that you couldn't really tell where each colour was useful meant that I spend most of the game mashing space while walking, which turned the game into a disco hall of colour haha. Well done!
Great game! Fun, good music/sfx, and really good graphics!
Really fun game! I liked the theme, and it played on it pretty well. Does the game end when the enemies stop spawning? I wasn't sure what was happening there.
It was neat! It took me two tries to learn how to play but once I did it made sense. Some of the sound effects were really loud compared to everything else. I liked the variety of units!
Very polished, and quite fun! I really enjoyed the amount of complexity in this game, and was surprised at how many creatures there were! 10/10!
(Double-checked the rules regarding post-LD fixes and apparently bugfixes are ok? So I did a few:) @damien-black @eranot @runningopenloop Yeah the UI being the wrong resolution is a thing we've done poorly in the past -- I just put out a patch that should fix it so that everything is visible.
@jesse-ray Yes that partictular victory condition was bugged on the first release, so I just put out a patch.
@kanity Thank you so much for your detailed review! I have a strong feeling that the UI sometimes does not register buying animals properly -- if you lose resources it definitely worked but otherwise I'm not sure why you ran into that many miscounts... We were trying something new with the UI and I think that messed some basic things up :(
Awesome work! An impressive amount of work for a weekend of work! The sprites are quite cute and I liked how the combat flowed. It would be nice if you couldn't just spam your best move over and over, but overall there was a lot of variety and choice available.
Very pretty, and fits the theme very well! Was there anything to do besides spawn them and watch though? I couldn't figure out if there were goals or not.
Very fun, I liked the pace of the game even if it was frantic! Once you get into the flow though it feels like you're on autopilot -- would be nice if the different animals did something different (like took longer to order or something)
Honestly really cool!! Feels like this was made more for the Cartography prompt than the Depths one haha. Great job, love how you can download your creation at the end!
Here's my map (spoilers below): [dungeon-map.png](///raw/fbd/21/z/6b049.png)
Extremely cute! I like the container restrictions, and kinda wish there was more of a puzzle-y element to that. It looks like you had a good idea going with it!
Incredibly fun! My only complaint is that it wasn't really clear that the red spots were going to be negative-only spots... I woulda avoided them had I known. Beat the game though, very fun!
Pretty neat Motherload-esque gameplay! Needing to click on things to mine/grab was my only gripe (as opposed to auto-pickup with a key or somethin). Great job!
Neat and novel game idea, though the wording of "Getting warmer..." made me think I was in the right folder the first couple times I tried it. For those reading this: the correct folder, when you click on it, will have no pop-up.
I wasn't a fan of having a time malus on getting the wrong folder, but it was fun once I got the ball rolling. Got to level 5. Great job!
Took me a long time to understand how to progress after finding the rune but once I got past that the game was very atmospheric and neat. I love the aesthetic and sound design!
Pretty fun! Love the cutsey style, and the difficulty felt just right! I really liked it!
I did run into a bug where like, five customers spawned at once and their orders overlapped so I couldn't tell what any of them wanted except the far right one. Okyakusama.png
Aww, very cute. The controls, concept, and execution were all excellent. I love the dedication to Rocco at the end there <3.
Visuals and audio were nice! I disliked how much randomness the cards added to a game about finding combinations (even once I figured out that you could just combine two of the same to wipe them), reminded me of the frustrations when playing Blue Prince.
Absolutely the most fun game I've played so far. It's very cute, and there's a lot of little features that I like -- for instance, being able to pick up after you've died. I agree that the library feels a bit superfluous but honestly it ties in with the collection theme a lot. Great entry!
@zexurge You betcha! @schu That was definitely one of our references! We did struggle with making the gameplay simultaneously strategic and easier-to-understand, but we'll know better for next time. @kamilah @imos Thanks for playing! And yeah we were all exhausted by the end of it haha
I wouldn't have gotten through it without the comment by @maxime-boyaval -- had no idea we needed to mouse wheel before using any of the cards. I agree that the theme & gameplay was lacking, but it was pretty alright otherwise
A bit confusing at the start -- might've helped if there was a how-to-play screen somewhere or tooltips. I'm still a little confused as to what half of the stats really do. Otherwise it was a neat concept though!
Interesting take on the theme! You should tell the player what causes game overs -- it's the purple soul thingy, right?
Honestly pretty fun, though very silly. The drop down was very disorienting
Oh my god this might be the most gut punch of a game I've ever seen in Ludum Dare. The theme and the personal aspect to it hit me down a trip to memory lane. This was incredibly well done. 10/10
Great execution! The last jump in the bonus level was pretty tough. I liked the visual style!
Honestly quite neat! I agree with the other comments on the lag and coin pickups, but it's pretty fun in spite of that! I didn't play too long -- is there an ending?
Whoa, incredibly cool idea. I like how the leaderboard keeps you coming back for another go, to see if you can do better next time.
@nadia-pixel Yeah! the link plays in HTML
@4farandbeyond @jamesgames1000 Thanks for checking it out!
@t-c Thanks for playing! Yeah we got balance done super late -- level 4 with the cops is brutal in retrospect. Glad to hear you were able to beat the entire game though!
@paulmag There's a submit button below the captcha -- if you've clicked them all and then submit it'll pass the test! @neshtyak Yeah I have no idea what causes that -- probably a bug in Unity itself. Thanks for playing! @noctoc Thanks for playing! Yeah we kept on switching up which game would start the level last minute -- I think it's supposed to be the "I'm not a robot" captcha but that change might've gotten overwritten in the final build @penagwin Yeah! There's an old flash game called The Classroom that we took inspiration from, haven't played the DS game you're referring to tho.
@kanity I don't think I've seen that error before -- maybe try refreshing?
@kanity I've compiled to Windows, please find it here: https://ordineu.itch.io/signal-sleuth-windows
Neat game! I liked the "Do not touch" lever lol. I was a bit confused on the instructions for the wavelength spoofer -- every time I swear I did it right it failed (you have to match the species and then the waveform, right?)
Very cute game! Loved the lil dancing kitty. Did the lowering signal at the top right do anything, or was that tied into the whole "lowered time in buffer" mechanic?
I'm a bit lost as to how you determine what a match is -- what's with the dice and circles at the top left of the cards?
Pretty spooky ending, but a lil anticlimactic at the same time. I liked the vibes, felt like Last Report! Btw for certain characters the Morse code just displayed a ? (e.g. Bow's ~ and ' got turned into ?s)
Awesome game! I was pretty bad at it though, kept on panicking when I heard the owl and then running into the nearest thorn lol
