The game seems unassuming at first, but it really gets interesting when you can start customizing your creature. Really fun idea!!

Amazing game!:D Really fun to play and very challanging, good entry!
I really enjoyed it. it is a really cool game, exceeded my initial expectations
Interesting games! The art and effects are clean, I like the trail after the bullets. The strategy of in what order to play the levels, when they give different food and evolve points, and rising difficulty add extra depth.
The starting movement felt a little too slow, and I miss some drawback from holding down the shooting button. Overall solid entry :)
I'm amazed. This is one of my favorite entries so far. It's such a clever concept and execution. What a diamond in the rough.
You're really on to something with this concept!
My favorite so far. Good job
One of my favorites so far. A lot of fun to play. It would have been nice to see a score of some sort to track how far you have gotten.
Actually incredible. Everything fits together very nicely!
I played 30 minutes to this game ... so much fun ! Really interresting game design.

Nailed It !
Pretty fun concept! Unfortunately the levels tended to drag on a bit too long, but the evolution mechanic you have was really fun!
Love the art style and agree with others, unassuming at first but very challenging
Goog game. Enjoyed the style and art!
Right there with you @khyrgrim (I actually had a horrible start. died twice.... So I was facing those boss things with a pea shooter and no fins, hahaha) but I made it :)

As for the dev: GREAT JOB! that was fun, theming was meh, but the game was on point! have you done anything more ambitious yet? cause I want to see your 3 week games if this is what you do with 3 days ;)
Nice concept to build your own critter. And every level seems to have random monsters. It would be nice if you add some sfx for the shoots. Also the artwork it's cool, its simple. Good work
@morcado Thanks for the feedback! I wanted to put in sound effects (my sound guy even made a bunch for me) but due to my poor time management I didn't have time to include them.
@ordineu I'll keep your comment about level length in mind. The levels scale in length based on their difficulty rating, and looking back I might have made them scale a bit too extremely, especially given that higher-difficulty enemy formations tend to last longer.
Bro, your game is strongly consistent, the lvl design, the Ui,have good graphics and i loved the EVO system. The music is good, but before some time playing i was totally tired of the song. Overall the game is super fun to play, good job!!!
It's like a classic game with a modern upgrade. The gameplay does get repetitive fast, but it's kind of hard to put down. I keep wanting to see how much the next upgrade will help. The enemies do seem to be well balanced. The attack patterns make you think about the shape of the critter you're building.
The graphics overall look fairly good. My main gripe would be the title. The alternating pink and orange letters are not easy on the eyes. I really liked the music. Some sound effects would help.
It would be nice if there was some kind of end goal. A final boss level would have made this entry feel complete. Overall though, this is a well rounded game.
It's my favorite game in this game jam! I like shoot-em-ups and roguelikes and you combined them in a great way! I think it deserves to go to production and I would be really excited to play it when it does. I was really amazed how you kept the balance, it was very interesting till the last level. One thing I was really waiting for was a boss level but it never came. And of course neat graphics and fitting music create a great mood.
I played it for 30 min and I don't regret. Amazing job for a jam game! Do let me know if you're going to develop it further.
Thanks to everyone who left feedback!
@rafa-braga Thanks for the advice about the music - since the game can be played for a fair amount of time, there being only 3 tracks can get a little old. I think I'll plan on adding a bunch of new stage aesthetics and getting music to go along with them so you're not just cycling through the same 3.
@thecritterscove I'm quite embarrassed about the title screen - it was thrown together very very quickly at the last possible moment. Sound effects are high on the to-do list as well (in fact, I've already implemented most of them in a post-jam build I'm working on)
@mykola Thank you for the high praise! I am continuing to develop this - I'll probably resurrect my twitter to post updates about it before too long. At the very least I'm planning on making a post-jam build that implements everything I envisioned implementing during the jam, and then from there decide whether to scale it up to a full-on game. Oh, and on the topic of boss fights, that's high on my priority list too - I want to have a bunch as might be expected from a roguelike progression style.
Really impressive that you managed to make a customization character system in such a short amount of time, longest I've play a jam game so far
The game is strangely addictive and the artwork is very clean. The levels were fun and challenging, though I wish they were a bit shorter.
I liked the game overall, but as others have mentioned it gets pretty repetitive and is a bit too easy overall, and once you get to 5/5 difficulty you keep growing in strength whereas the enemies stay the same. Overlapping the different enemy waves would be an easy way to continue power growth (eventually ending once there are more enemies than can killed or dodged).
I really liked the editor, though I'm pretty sure one of my body pieces disappeared when I placed it down. Not sure how that happened.
