Interesting take on the theme! You should tell the player what causes game overs -- it's the purple soul thingy, right?

crazypinguin 2025-10-07 22:21

@ordineu It's being out of Cards. The enemies are discarding all your hand cards, leaving you possible out of cards.

Very cool look and feel. I love isometric turn based games. Keep developing it!

Love the Art Style and found the mechanic very interesting. Sounds are some times a bit harsch and loud.

The cards make the screen hard to see at times, but the mechanics are very cool and I enjoyed the art/music. However, the puzzles feel a bit too linear and the step indicator sometimes bugs out.

Interesting concept, at first glanc I would hope for bit more info, what is going on, but after few tries I know what to do. The game loop is very interesting and I like the take on the theme, however not sure if its just me, but it felt bit hard and unforgiving :D But overall very nice entry, good job!

Got stuck and ended up in the water. Super interesting concept, but I felt like there needs to be some kind of additional movement option.

@good-enough We had a lot more planned — consider this a tutorial for the core mechanics. If you have any specific ideas, feel free to share! They might inspire us for the future.

How exactly did you get stuck on the water? We ran into that bug once during testing but couldn’t reproduce it afterward.

I got way more into this game than I thought I would. Great job! Had a lot of fun trying to figure out how to keep my cards from running out. The spacing/placement of card refresh tiles and quest checkpoints felt pretty good with the level of difficulty there was navigating between them.

Only issue for me was the audio balancing. The bgm was way quiet compared to some of the sound effects.

Pretty cool game, love the art style, got a bit confused at first, but pretty cool!

This is really interesting! I wish movement was a bit quicker as it felt a bit tedious at times, but it was an interesting mechanic / puzzle for sure. I also wish maybe there was more of a monitor of which cards were left as it was sometimes a bit hard to strategize not knowing what was coming up. But I really like the idea, isometric games are really cool, and the graphics and sound effects are really pleasant and fitting.

Nice game. I enjoyed playing it. 😍 This is one of the best entries I have played so far! 📈 Have a nice day. 💗

Interesting concept ☺️ I needed a bit of tries to fully understand the game mechanics, but then I was able to plan my moves smarter to progress. However, at some time I found myself looping on a card refresh tile hoping to find the right sequence to reach my objective, which in the end I couldn't. I don't know if it's a card balancing issue or it's just me having to git gud 😆

Even though I couldn't use that idea in my favor, I think the refresh tiles might be used to bully the map a little, for example gradually freezing all water tiles nearby without running out of cards. You might have to put some constraint on their usage when balancing the full mechanics.

Cheers ☺️

Sorry for not playing this early enough to score it (got the deadline wrong). :-/

Interesting take on the theme! I liked playing it for several times, and it brought back memories from some old RPG games of my youth. Reading the other comments I realize I didn't really get the game logic that well, so I kept running out of cards before completing many tasks. So I could have used some instructions.

All in all, a nice entry!

@ste-dtst I really enjoyed frezzing the whole map while testing. And if we got further with implementation, you would have to balance different enviromental effects. (at least that was the plan  )

And mabye we should have explained the overlay from clicking on the deck is showing the draw-order. But we will keep that in mind for further level design.
