An interesting idea and high-quality execution. Great job!
This was a very clever concept! Also, hi fellow Rustacean! There is some really fun emergent gameplay that comes out of the white block behavior, where you're balancing shrinking your space with making efficient movements. I was able to get a score of 3000 before I ran out of space and green blocks stopped spawning. I think this could evolve into a neat puzzle game.
Nice to see a Bevy entry! Really like this concept, I enjoy how every time I lose I really feel like it was my own fault, the rules are perfectly clear and I just doomed myself with a bad decision 20 moves ago. Visuals are simple but clear and the particles make movement feel good.
The graphics threw me off for a bit initially, but I'm glad that I stuck around for two full playthroughs. My high score was 4750 on my second run. This was a surprisingly tough little puzzle game. I like that the core loop was easily grasped and required very little onboard. The controls and visuals felt very tight and snappy - I think you nailed the speed of the square's movement on the board. What was your high score as the developer? I'm interested if there is some kind of strategy in this beyond just filling in the outer square layers first.

Perfect game for the theme.
Wow, simple, yet engaging. Managed to get 3820 on my first try. Good work!
I've only had nightmares about functional programming so congratulations for actually managing to create a working game with it. I really like the sliding mechanic and I feel like this game really added something to the genre. Could easily be a full puzzle game with level building. My highscore was 3580
a really fun game, had a blast, I think my highest score was 3840, may come back and try to beat it later
Got 4465. This was a really interesting take on the theme! I loved the little bits of polish, like the particle effects when you grab a green or the popping of new tiles into place. This was really fun!
Wow, super fun game! Lots of juice and makes for a really fantastic puzzle game! I absolutely love rust and maybe will try and make a game using bevy! I've used the sdl bindings for rust to make simple things but I think bevy looks amazing. Really fantastic job!
This is an extremely cleverly designed game perfect for the compo. I love it when it only takes a few seconds to fully understand the game mechanics and the game is still engaging and satisfying to play. Managed to get 3865 after a couple of attempts
Very nice idea, simple and elegant
A nice little game! Only problem is that after a while it didn't spawn any more green scares. At least not any I could see. A sort of game over screen would've been nice. I like the particle effects!
Really clever idea executed really well. Honestly, a few extra hours spent on this, and additional polish via the likes of sound and music could make it a really good puzzle game -- especially on something like mobile, where swiping could be used to control. Either way, I really enjoyed my time with it, and would certainly like to see the idea reach its full potential, if you're up for it. Amazing job!
OH boy I am I glad I clicked on this one. Lovely game! Really nice idea, executed well. I wasn't sure what to think when it started but within two moves I understood. Easy to pick up, tricky to master. Wonderful stuff.
It's such a simple addition to the original game, but hits very very nicely. It's a brilliant addition, well done.
I've played a couple where you use the level as the mechanic so far, but this one is my favorite. Such a sleek and simple design, had really good feel too. Would have liked to have an end point when I get stuck but that's such a small detail with how the rest of it is. Great jam!
@euix hi 🦀🦀 I'm looking around for other games made in rust/bevy so I'll be sure to add yours to the list!!
@defrag Glad you stuck with and enjoyed it 🙂 and wow, That's a really high score!! I still can't beat it. Always a weird feeling when someone bests you at a game you made lol
And thanks everyone else for playing I am glad you enjoyed (hopefully) and thank u for the feedback :)
When I glanced at the controls and saw there were only four buttons I had high hopes, and I was rewarded with a clever puzzle game. I managed to get just over 2000 without much strategy, and I know I can do better when I try again. Of course there's room for juice but this is compo and this is a great compo entry. Loved it.
Simple but great mechanics that make for a challenging puzzle! Particle fx are great. Bevy is love.
Super well done, this is a galaxy brain concept!! Love it
This is such a great idea with amazing movement and satisfying controls. If this is your first time using Rust and Bevy, then job well done! I will be honest, Rust is very fascinating language to me, so I always love to see it. I would perhaps include some "Game over" screen once you're no longer able to move. My score:

Simple game but really good execution of the theme. The mechanics are super easy to understand, and it's really fun trying to puzzle my way through this game and plan out the most efficient paths to eat the green squares. The particle effects are also well done and add a lot to the simple graphics of this game. I managed to get a scored of 3925. Great job!
I think it's really in the theme. It's an original puzzle game
Nice and simple idea!
Mechanics are easy to understand even without reading the instructions. It reminds me of the board game "Ricochet Robots". I got 3900 points on my run.
Start and end screens would have been nice to make the game feel more complete. Online scoreboard would have made me play more times to compete with others. Some graphics and sounds could have introduced a mood and given more personality for the game.
For what it is, the game is solid, no bugs occurred. It's also right on the spot with theme!
I did a score of 2155 without using to much the green boxes. I understood quickly how to play and it was fun. The perfect game for the theme !
Hey technostalgic! I decided to give my impressions in video form this time:

Love what you did with the mechanic! Thank you so much!
@trexxak Hey thanks a bunch man!! I really appreciate it. I think video feedback is the most valuable kind of feedback, seeing how someone reacts to the game as they're playing can really help see where I've gone right and wrong
