Rude Bear Raid by Alex Rose 2015-04-23T02:47:00
Looked and sounded great. No one else was playing though so I didn't get to experience it.

This was surprisingly very fun. Great job!
Really fun game. Only critique I have is the physics. They seemed...off. It was really hard to maneuver in the air. Great way to use the theme, though.
@doitle: Ya the strafing is actually intended behavior.
@Tortoise and @graebor: Yes audio would have been a great improvement. I just didn't have enough time. This Jam for me was very laid back so I slept a normal amount.
@Javabot: I have never encountered that before. Do you remember what you did to reproduce instead of just shooting a hotdog?
Guys...you can't find the "exe" because it is a bundled app for Mac. It's not for Windows.
Great art. Cute voice. Fun time.
Stunning. The music really hit me. Loved that. I would love to be able to play that as background music while I work.
Super awesome that there's so much voice acting. I did end up getting that bug where you get trapped :/ Great job though!
Well.....that was something :P
Cool mechanics. Questionable theme. Awesome music from the renowned Atmospherium
Beautiful and fun game. For some reason I would get low fps sometimes but that could have just been a fluke.
So addicting for something so simple. Great work. Runs great and the little peons are cute :3
Super great! Well done. Really hard but it is fun. Has that meat boy vibe.
Very interesting theme usage here. Seems pretty polished as well.
Sidenote: You seem to have uploaded the dev version of the application. That's why the file size is so large.
This was really cool. Great art. Ran smoothly. Wished there were sounds. All in all great Jam entry, guys!
*Victory Dance*
Music was amazing
It seems like a lot of people didn't discover this but the arrow keys actually also work as left and right (not jump though). I used the arrow keys to move and a&d to jump. Made this a pretty darn easy game, actually.
Pretty fun. I liked the last level the best!
Way too hard for my liking. The lack of momentum made jumps very hard to judge.
The art reminded me immediately of game dev tycoon...which was fitting :P Cool concept. I'm not entirely sure of the theme alignment but I'm guessing it's like you're "growing" your virus?
Great job, though!
Cute little game. Pretty good for inexperienced programmers. Good job!
Fantastic job. Was super fun to figure out which combinations did what.
Great job! Had a great atmosphere to it.
I could tell that undertale was your inspiration for the middle game :P
Took me a while to figure out the controls because I had to guess. I figured out that s and l did something in the first game but I seemed to not get any progress.
For anyone needing controls:
1: S,L
2: A,S
3: Up,Down
Great fun. Beautiful music and sounds.
When playing I get a BUNCH of Null exceptions. Seemed like an okay idea. The 15 hours shows.
Visually appealing. Very hard. Couldn't get past the first boss. Great work!
Pretty funny little game. The UI seemed messed up a bit and I couldnt change the sound settings.
So you did the jam, a 72 hour competition, in 24 hours? I would have expected more from a jam entry. This would have fit better as a compo but I'm sure there are just reasons that I don't know.
This was a very well polished game. Just when I thought it was getting boring something happened...like the forehead hair :P
Great fun! Controls are very nice. Like ironleonem I think that multiplayer would be awesome and the respawning is a little wonky since sometimes you keep running into the dead zone :P
10/10 would play again.
Interesting concept. It seems to be a little ambitious. What's there is nice though! Good work.
wut
I love the jumping :P
@SketchyGalore thanks! I had a lot of fun this time around. This is probably the closest I've been to completing a game that feels game-y and something that I might actually play myself :D
@snufkinshat yes, that will hopefully come soon
@drprettypatty Ya sorry about that. I was rushing the post and forgot to include instruction. I've updated the post but here they are as well.
On your turn you can either use a floppy disk to run a program on the target or “pass” your turn to code a new program. After each win you get a Hacker Token which you spend/save to get extra Modules to enhance your cyberdeck. Each fight you will Start With Nothing so you must code new programs each time.
Thanks for playing and pushing through even though it wasn't clear what to do. And thanks for your feedback. I really enjoyed this years. I felt like I had a pretty solid idea for a game. I unfortunately had less 24 hours to work on it this weekend so I didn't have much time for polish
@appix ya unfortunately I didn't get to the balance pass so the numbers are pretty arbitrary, sorry! Thanks for playing though
@sode I'm not sure how you got up to 45HP! Max HP should be 20. The reason you are getting so many programs to choose from is from your level. The amount shown to you is based on your level and I didn't anticipate anyone getting above level 5. That's why they're going out of bounds. While I think that a 2.5 rating is pretty harsh for such a cosmetic bug, I thank you for trying it out.
Edit: I have fixed the bug.
@henrik-pettersson Thank you for trying it out! Balancing is definitely an issue I didn't have time to resolve so I'm sorry that that affected you. If by "manually ending turn" you mean clicking the "Do Enemy Turn" button, that is just because I didn't have time for animations or things to denote that the enemy was taking his turn. Without that, it would go so fast I thought it would be confusing if you took your turn and then it was immediately your turn again (also why I added the enemy play log).
But also FYI there is a way to increase your actions per turn! Acquiring an extra Floppy Drive via the module shop allows you to execute 2 programs per turn!
@jimbly ya sorry about the balancing issues. Just kinda had ideas and put them in without time to see if they were overpowered or not. I'm glad you enjoyed it otherwise though. And ya, was really hoping to have in game descriptions of things but didn't have the time
@jimbly Oh I think I misread your original comment. I thought he kept playing biofeedback. That's really weird if you were just permanently stunned. That's definitely a bug. Sorry about that!
Nice entry. I've been long interested in a TD game but I usually don't think of it when it comes time lol. The sound effects were nice and the visuals were appealing. Thanks for making it!
P.S. The beginning was a little too long I think. I thought I was doing something wrong or that it was broken. The idea was really cool, starting with nothing and getting money from a lightning strike. But maybe speed the enemies up or something.
Liked the world. Looked very nice, especially the water. Ambiance had a nice mood
very cute. nice sounds and pleasing visuals :) great job
This is incredible. Full marks. Very difficult but I had a lot of fun with it
First off, congratulations on finishing your first game! That's a lot harder to do than a lot of people think. This was a fun little entry. It lacked some depth but overall I thought it was a fun distraction. The visuals were appealing and it was pretty straightforward.
The mood was very nice. Only issue I had was the handling of the robot. It felt very sluggish. Took a while to get moving and if you let go of a key you would immediately stop. Because of that, the timer felt really hard. I ran out of time on the 3rd level.
Had an issue where a barrel and a crate spawned inside of me after jumping into the last light and was stuck. Annotation 2019-10-07 121036.png
Definitely reminds me of the games that were popular 5 years ago. Loved the audio design and it was definitely fun! Great job
Interesting concept. Spatial audio is a cool mechanic and it was definitely chill
A fun concept. Took me a couple tries to get it but I eventually won
Really great! I enjoyed playing it a lot. The enemies were hard to hit at times even though it seemed I should have hit them. Not much longevity but for a 48 hr jam game I'd say that turned out pretty well.
Great job. Very fun top-down shooter mixed with tower defence
I thought this concept was pretty unique. The rotation was a very cool idea! Good job
Really enjoyed this one. Great concept. It was really fun trying to control everything
Nicely done. Really cool ideas and fun gameplay.
@kukurammus thanks for the feedback! Do you (or others) have any suggestions on what would make it more "gamey" if we had more time?
Hey great job! I actually found your game because our jam entry url had a -2 at the end so I was like "oh someone else had a game of the same name!" and what's even funnier is that our original idea was similar with the tetris pieces (although we decided against it later).
Anyway, nice entry. Simple, clean, and well polished.
Wow, this was awesome. Job well done! Only complaint here is that it was exceptionally hard for me to keep track of which direction I needed to be hitting, especially when it got faster. I loved the voice over as well, made me laugh. He has so many friends!
Very impressed with this entry! It looks and plays great. I would have loved some audio, some "ker-chunks" when compacting or something. Other than that, really well polished :)
That was pretty fun! I liked the new take on tetris! Nice sounds (except the pause sound made my ears hurt!) and the visuals were nice.
Really great work, fellas! Loved the atmosphere of the game. The art and sound design was really nice too!
That was amazing. Simple but really funny and a cool little puzzle to boot!
That was a fun experience :) I liked learning from others by just watching and then cooperating for trying different things. Me and this other player found a glitch where you could push the cat back up and eventually I actually clipped into the cat and I could fight the physics pushing me out which was also pushing the cat up :PScreenshot 2022-04-09 221701.jpg
@junklab Thanks for the feedback! My original idea was to indeed have a more unlimited map with a distance goal and to also have a shop with upgrades for your glider. But as I'm sure you're well aware...things don't always pan out lol. I definitely spent a majority of my time on the physics (hardly any online resources for that!) but I think it ended up being a core fun part. That being said, I did add an artificial goal. If you make it through the cave a bit there is a goal platform you can hit to "win".
@glayson The upside down trees will get you. You better watch out! :P I do wish I had some music in there but alas. Thank you for the laugh :)
Wow, honestly, I'm stunned. That was a beautiful game. I love the dynamic music, it worked so well. And the graphics/animations were so good too. I actually left the end screen of the game up for about 20 minutes afterward just so I could keep listening to the music. Needless to say, I can't wait for the soundtrack!
Also works nice on mobile which is cool
Omg the fast credits ending  the visual effects were so cool!
That was a fun experience :) Did you make the music yourself? I really liked the art style.
I loved the transition effect of the scenery and the atmosphere was very moody.
Nice work, I was so confused how many BU each measuring cup was....until I saw the sign on the wall lol. The stated theme application seems a little artificial.
Very polished looking game. I'm impressed. I had never heard of tic-80, so that's cool! Idk if it's something weird with my computer but the html5 version plays at like 5x speed. It was impossible to play. But thankfully the downloaded version works fine. One criticism I have is that there was no incentive to jump around. I would just find a location near the fewest alarm clocks and just stay there until I finished the level, which made it a little trivial. But it was still a fun little challenge/puzzle and I can't fault you too much for it! Also, I loved the art style. Brought me back to my childhood playing Link's Awakening. Great job.
Great game. It's well polished and I liked the ambient sound effects. It was a little tricky to play on my laptop with a trackpad, especially to pan, but it was still enjoyable for the most part :)
Nice work getting this out with the little time you had! The sound effects were a nice touch and while the controls were hard to get used to, I thought it they added to the frantic nature of the plot
Fun little game, nice work :)
Nice entry. The atmosphere/mood was very nice. The soundtrack was exceptional. I'll repeat the same sentiment about balance. It didn't feel challenging. I feel like having the different ship types having different amounts of health would have helped a lot. As it is now, they all die in one hit from the cheap lasers, even the big ones. Speaking of the lasers, I'm not sure why you'd use the rockets. The lasers kill in one and don't have a travel time. But other than that, I really honestly had a great time with the game :)
First off, very nice work! Love the art and the story (tho I was disappointed that the game ended without resolution!). I will say that it had poor balance. It was way too easy. Once I got a few towers down I just waited until I won. Also, it wasn't clear how much towers cost, what they did, or where they were allowed to be placed. I was confused for a while because they wouldn't place down. Screenshot 2022-04-05 005029.jpg
That was fun, and I agree with others that the polish was high! I wonder if you enabled the fullscreen button on itch if that would fix the scrolling issue.
Hey! That was fun! Reminded me of wario ware games. The boulder sounds were really annoyingly layered, but otherwise the art and sounds were great!
Love the music and sound effects! And it was a cool spin on pinball to boot :)
