Really like the idea of switching between 3rd person and semi-top down. Controls are a bit annoying to use though since you can't shoot in 3rd person mode.
Overall style is really nice, lacking a bit in the single player game play.
Good work on this, this LD was also for me to learn UE4. Would have liked to see some more lighting / texturing, they make the game look a lot more polished with not much work.
That ain't no puppy. For anyone having input issues, walk the direction you want to shoot and then press the other key.
Was it just me or did the score not work? Anyway nice work you really nailed the retro feel. Would have liked a low / med / high difficulty for speed, but I also ran out of time to add that in my game :S
Good stuff, really liking all the rhythm / timing games coming out of this jam. Wish it sped up a bit faster more though.
Graphics and audio are really nice. Would have liked another mechanic in the gameplay since its a bit too simple.
Ok I feel like an idiot now :( Took me wayyy too long to figure out where to use that screwdriver but it was pretty obvious looking back on it. A lot of polish added to this, nothing much in particular I would say you need to improve (besides obviously more content). Sound, graphics, programming and design all felt perfect to me. Just need more mechanics and levels!
Finally got to posting a review of your game. Saw one of your progress videos when the competition was still going on and thought had similar concepts, and we did! My game [is here](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/masked) in case you want to check it out, but we both had the whole fps, restricted view kinda thing going. I really like the retro graphics and the whole arcadey yet tense atmosphere. Good stuff~
Needs some mechanics! Besides that art style is great, would have like to see a jump animation though. Cutscene was a nice touch but I imagine it took up quite a bit of time :P Sound was really quiet for me I actually didn't realise there was any until I read the comments. Anyway overall quite good, would suggest to focus more on game play and how your controls feel in your next jam.
I like how you have a nice logging system going there, always good practice (which I never end up doing...) :P Really would have liked some background music or noise. The SFX felt really out of place without them. Car controls were great but I wasn't really feeling the food / toilet thing as a gameplay mechanic. It was pretty hilarious though xD Graphics were nice as well. Overall really impressive stuff.
Ooo very interesting. I liked how much you could do with just spacebar. Was not expecting a puzzle game like this when I started it up. 3rd level took me a while to figure out but it felt great once I did :) Would like to have seen more levels and tiles!
I think some small tweaks could have added a lot to the gameplay, make the viewport bigger, tweak the projectile speeds a little. Add a few more powerups / weapons. I think you're a tiny bit short on being something awesome. That being said it was still fun. SFX are great :P really added a lot to the mood!
I liked it! The first puzzle with the shooting turret was really hard, I'd like to see someone not get hit by it. After that it was quite smooth. Game play was good, but I got stuck so I'm not sure if there were more mechanics added later.
Very interesting concept, wish there was more to do though. I think the speed at which the planets come and go is good IF you could do something while you were on the planet. Even something small like jumping. But I can definitely see this being awesome with some sort of small mini game you could do on each planet. 10/10 for concept!
Collisions need work! I clipping through walls and skipping whole levels (and won the game :P). Besides that though I love the mood and the voice acting is great. With a bit of polishing (graphics, puzzle mechanics and bug squashing), I could totally see this being a really great game.
Hey denny, finally got to reviewing your game :P Love the animation, reminds me of [the12principles](http://the12principles.tumblr.com/) and it makes it really convincing. Everything was really well polished, character movement, object reactions, UI and all :) Tutorial was great for introducing game concepts but I just wish there were more levels!
Really cool mechanic! Missed the part where it said press tab to toggle, so took me a while to figure out how to play but once I did it was quite fun. Main complaint is that getting stuck on walls was so frustrating. An easy fix if you don't have time to do full collisions: when you overlap a wall, push the player away from the wall by making a vector (wall's position - player position). Other than that game was fun! :cookie: :cookie: :cookie:
Wow, this was amazing! I wish there was some music and SFX though but aside from that everything was spot on. The aspect ratio as well really added to the feel. Pixel art was excellent and the dialogue as well, I usually end up skipping through dialogue but I read all of this. Good stuff!
Nice game, not a big fan of the hold to change lane controls but I got used to them after a bit. Highest score was 1:49. One criticism is that I found the fresnel emissive on the planet was a bit too high, so you couldn't really see obstacles coming down very well from the top but other than that everything else was great.
