Cool concept! I love the isometric view point you chose. It took me a little bit to work out what I was supposed to be doing, but once I got the hang of it was pretty intuitive!
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD38 → Woodcutters

I'm sorry, but could you please put the controls to the game on your Ludum Dare page? I tried to play this but had a hard time figuring out the controls. I'd like to wait with my feedback until I have properly played the game :-)
Very enjoyable once I got the hang of it. Hope to see more levels in the future.
Rather confusing in the beginning,I had some fun once i got the hang of it.
It took me a little bit to figure out the requirements for winning. Once I figured out what tiles needed to go where, I wanted more levels!
Having trouble getting it to play for me, I'm running Chrome, is it because I don't have javascript?
@hierophant yes, you need activated javascript to play the game :)
I liked the isometrica perspective with white background, maybe on a larger playing field the camera could follow the selected tile. Congratulations
Took me some time understanding what to do, but after that it's quite an enjoyable game.
The graphics are amazing. A nice consistent style, and a interesting take on the theme. Some Music would be nice as well, but still, its awesome. My one complaint is the placing system, i suggest replacing it with a mouse click system, but overall, this is a great game.
Ooo very interesting. I liked how much you could do with just spacebar. Was not expecting a puzzle game like this when I started it up. 3rd level took me a while to figure out but it felt great once I did :) Would like to have seen more levels and tiles!
Nice concept, the controls need a bit of work still.
Good entry! I like the Concept but the controls were a bit strange. But my game has that as well so i cant really complain. I hope these votes help you to get a Rank and an overall feedback of where you are! I would also appreciate it if you take a look at my game!
Good idea. I understood target only across three attempts but it's very cool. Good art and great job!
It was cool to play this little puzzle game. I finished all the levels.
But on a small window, pressing arrows game scrolls. It would great to have a resize for window size.
Good job.
Great puzzle game with poor realisation. In fact, once I've understood how I was supposed to interact with it, I started to have some fun. I won the first level without understand the concept. Despite of the lack of musics, sfx and good graphics, the game is very nice to play. Finally, it's the most important thing for a LD game imo.
Here's some improvements I can think of right now :
- Game flow * Add an in-game tutorial. Maybe you should write a mini tutorial here in your LD game page to help people understand your game ? * Improve control. Why not using the mouse buttons ? Isometric movement with those directions is not very intuitive for me. - Art * Better graphics. * Add some musics and SFX. * Some animation (when constructing building on a tile for instance)
Great game tho :D
Great Puzzle. It took some time before I realized how to control the game. Would be nice with mouse controls, to instantly recognize the hover movement on tiles. But, that aside, when I realized the game-mechanics, I really enjoyed it. Would like to see more levels, and of course having some sfx and music would add to the atmosphere.
Congratulations for the gameplay, it is pretty neat. The three levels and their learning curve are nice, as I did understood every step pretty much as expected. I would have loved to be confronted to next levels with additional mechanics, so it's a good indicator that it works.
The controls are not perfect indeed. Moving selection on a 45° space with a straight keyboard wasn't very easy here. It seems that click/touch interactions would have been a lot more appropriate.
Anyway, with an extended gameplay, some animations and relaxing sounds, it would make a nice puzzle game. Bravo !
Nice concept, I like it. Would need a few more levels I think. One issue I have is the controls - the view is angled at exactly 45°, so it's hard to say which direction the arrows should match.
