Interesting little puzzle-game. The movement of your character got rid of my patience some time since I missed platforms because of it and had to start all over x) But other than that, the graphics are fine looking and the music is pretty relaxing.

Good job !

sansman01 2019-10-07 10:20

I like the idea of changing the textures while gathering the collectibles :)

2019-10-07 10:23

To anyone who reads this, make sure to go to settings and set the controls for a human hand.

lumos 2019-10-07 10:26

With a title like this, I _had to_ take a look. Neat little spin on the theme, even if the little lamp-droid is a pain in the arse to command. The 45-second levels start getting a little difficult. Otherwise I can't say it's anything groundbreaking or inspiring, but it's a solid entry nonetheless.

tasakasama 2019-10-07 10:51

@kanonix Thank you for your return, yes I wanted to do something short for a jam is always better than it is not too long but while bringing a little difficulty and retry ... Thank you for having tried :)

tasakasama 2019-10-07 10:53

@sansman01 Thank you for taking the time to play ... I had other ideas for additional collectibles but I tell myself when I sometimes have to make it simple for it to be nice

tasakasama 2019-10-07 10:57

@anonymous Yes, I am French thereby we use the AZERTY keyboard but after many jams a thing often come back people want use different binding they want. So I added the possibility to bind your own keys as you wish.

Thank you for your accuracy and time to play :)

tasakasama 2019-10-07 11:00

@lumos Thank you for taking the time to try. Yes it is not revolutionary indeed but the theme did not really inspire me to a few crazy things... Because of this I remained simple and classic but nice and well built.

notafamousguy 2019-10-07 12:14

This game is simply awesome , i had some issues with the movement but other than that this is an superb game.

suryaprakash 2019-10-07 12:16

The game is simple and yet so attractive. Love what you did with the game.

tasakasama 2019-10-07 12:19

@notafamousguy Yes movements is what brings a little difficulty to the game :) thank you for having played

tasakasama 2019-10-07 12:20

@suryaprakash Thank you for your feedback, it makes me really happy :)

twinturbodouche 2019-10-07 12:32

I really like the lighting and puzzle aspects of your game! Well done!

tasakasama 2019-10-07 12:34

@twinturbodouche Thank you, I'm glad you're appreciated

mira 2019-10-07 13:52

I like the way how you struggled with theme. I think its good idea. And game look very good too.

bjeaurn 2019-10-07 13:56

Amazing art style, music was calming. The initial controls were a tad wonky, but I saw you made it so you can change em in the settings; nice touch! Didn't feel like it, but I noticed on a second playthrough that the levels were semi-random generated; good job!

Good effort, nice little game. Great art style I want to say again.

mantou 2019-10-07 14:15

The Audio is excellent! But there is no rating of the Audio. The movement of the character is difficult for me.

tasakasama 2019-10-07 14:30

@mira Thanks to you :)

tasakasama 2019-10-07 14:32

@bjeaurn Yes the placement of collectible are random at each party, I wanted to do the same with the environment but in a jam time condition I was afraid that there is too much trouble to the generation :)

Thank you and glad that you have more

tasakasama 2019-10-07 14:36

@mantou Yes I like to create games in jam but I do not know how to make music. It is a free music credited at the end of the game and to avoid any misunderstanding I deleted this section to not not be rated by its quality

marcin-j 2019-10-07 15:04

Great audio and visuals, despite being simple they get the point across and look well together creating a chill dark atmosphere. Controlls are pretty terrible and need revamping if you were to continue this project. All said I think this game has potential and people would enjoy a full release.

--EDIT. I should have clarified. I rebinded AZERTY, what I mean about controlls is that they are a bit floaty. I can't describe it better haha @tasakasama

barracudadisaster 2019-10-07 15:05

I liked how relaxed the game was. The light looked nice and it was fun to see when the level progressed as I jumped around adding lights. The movement was a bit unresponsive but it didn't bother so much because of the almost floatin feeling with the character. Great work!

sozey 2019-10-07 15:15

Nice little game, the graphics look nice, although I prefer them before the textures are applied. The concept of a guy running around prepping the dungeon is really funny though, good job!

tasakasama 2019-10-07 15:19

@marcin-j The controls are in AZERTY but there is the possibility of Rebind in settings... if you like it so thank you :)

tasakasama 2019-10-07 15:20

@barracudadisaster The movements are complicated but voluntarily and I think that's also what makes its charm :)

Thanks to you

tasakasama 2019-10-07 15:24

@sozey It is true for textures I did not want to put things more detailed because the game already weighs a lot (thank you UE4)

but I think I should have to change their color without applying a real texture ... I will test it to see what it gives.

thanks to you :)

adamk33n3r 2019-10-07 16:13

The mood was very nice. Only issue I had was the handling of the robot. It felt very sluggish. Took a while to get moving and if you let go of a key you would immediately stop. Because of that, the timer felt really hard. I ran out of time on the 3rd level.

Had an issue where a barrel and a crate spawned inside of me after jumping into the last light and was stuck. Annotation 2019-10-07 121036.png

tasakasama 2019-10-07 16:19

@adamk33n3r Nice little collision bug ^^ thankfully the timer restart the level :)

The time is very difficult to equilibre because as the placement of collectibles and torch are random it is possible that some room is more limited on the timer than others ...

daniil-krylov 2019-10-07 16:42

Cool game, particularly great work with interface! But momentum felt too strong.

tasakasama 2019-10-07 18:24

@daniil-krylov It's always difficult to manage a feature that wish and imagine but that can not necessarily be practical at all ... Thank you for your feedback

ktao 2019-10-07 18:41

Good job! The controls are a little wonky, and I highly reccomend rebinding them to WASD right at the start. There's also an issue where I got stuck in the menus somehow and had to restart my game, but other than that it's pretty well polished!

tasakasama 2019-10-07 19:16

@ktao Oh, a bug in a menu? I did not see that in my tests but it is possible ... Thanks for playing

cethin 2019-10-07 19:55

Cool idea with an actual settings menu! That was required though because the default movement buttons were really strange. Why not just WASD like every other game? Not actually controlling your jumps and the acceleration/deceleration speeds being so low made the platforming parts nearly impossible though.

tasakasama 2019-10-07 20:06

@cethin Why not use QWERTY directly? Just because I am French and therefore for tests during development I use AZERTY.

Therefore, I prefer to give everyone the opportunity to use what he wants with binding system... Personally I am frustrated every time I test a game not being able to use my own bind...

I also wanted to do more dialogue but the ludum dare being a jam internationnal I am obliged to translate and limit the texts :)

cethin 2019-10-07 20:26

@tasakasama Ah, ok. That makes sense. I was wondering why the bindings seemed so random! Thanks for including the option to change them though. Most LD games don't include that because of time constraints but I'm glad you managed.

tasakasama 2019-10-07 20:37

@cethin it's the advantage of using an engine rather than doing everything even. The key rebind under Unreal is really not complicated to do

susumu-asaga 2019-10-07 20:59

I really liked this game idea, but I wasn`t a fan of the movement of the character, from the description I think it was intentional to make the movement the way it is, but adding floaty movement with plataforms and a time limit is really frustrating to the player. With more time to polish it could be a great game.

tasakasama 2019-10-07 21:09

@susumu-asaga To put a movement more fluid should have added a lot of level and not be limited to 5. But thank you for your return and I think I will try others. Thank you for your feedback

2019-10-07 22:49

Really the only thing that let this game down was the movement. Even though I was pressing the buttons, I never really felt in control of the character and when there is a timer, it's not the best state to be in.

If you fixed that, it would be a great game. The art-style and models were great. The music was well made and it certainly calmed my frustration and caused me to play longer that I would have. Good Job.

lanalux 2019-10-08 00:01

The lighting and music gave a really relaxing vibe! :)

tasakasama 2019-10-08 06:43

@drakespartan To move as easily as possible you can move one, wait player stop and move again. A bit like we will advance a pawn on a board game ...

Thank you for your feedback

tasakasama 2019-10-08 06:48

@lanalux Thanks to you. This is one of the reasons that pushed me to make a Windows build. I would have been able to export it to the Web but it would have required to reduce the effects of light ...

creativ4eg 2019-10-08 13:40

The lightnings are so attractive!

ferdi 2019-10-08 14:21

Controls are tricky but it's a pretty efficient and addictive game. Your screenshots and overall game art really catched me. Good job!

tasakasama 2019-10-08 15:10

@creativ4eg Thank you, yes visually the light although they are basic but they are very important :)

tasakasama 2019-10-08 15:14

@ferdi Yes, the controls are tricky. It's something that was pointed out to me but I did not think so much I will try just for me to see what it could give if I put a classic movement. what will be my feeling ?

pythooonuser 2019-10-08 20:27

Cool idea to let the level build up. The hat on the character is nice :) The character movement was sometimes hard to handle. It wasn't too obvious where I needed to jump on and where not. Maybe because of the camera angle being very steep.

tasakasama 2019-10-09 07:41

@pythooonuser Oh, you're the first one to point out to me that the angle of the camera was problematic for some platforms.

And I totally agree with you. I myself asked the question during the development. I tried to make sure that the environment is well placed to avoid that but it's true that it's not easy.

Thanks to you

givit-game-studios 2019-10-09 08:20

Nice game well done.

tasakasama 2019-10-09 08:35

@givit-game-studios Thank you for taking the time to try :)

shrapx 2019-10-09 17:03

The fixed camera, i found it quite hard to judge the height (I see you have acknowledged the camera a few comments back). and the unusual always jumping guy made it harder. Its a nice concept of the level creator behind another the making of a game, which tackles the theme perfectly. I think i got through some of the levels by brushing the edge of a light rather than climbing up to reach it from above. Well done with making the game in 2 days :D

tasakasama 2019-10-10 07:22

@shrapx In fact the character does not jump all the time just release the keys so that it stops. That's why I added a timer to add some pressure to the player is trying to make mistakes otherwise it would have been too easy. But there is time and staying constantly in motion is not necessarily the right solution.

Thanks to you :)

pattedecanaard 2019-10-10 14:55

Love the glow effect and it's cool to see the levels being created/textured, good idea ! The game is a bit challenging because of the movement, but i was still able to finish it :) Sometime you can jump below a platform, and the hitbox allow you to pick up the light (it makes some levels easier :p ). The game is pretty calm and enjoyable, good job !

asue 2019-10-10 19:12

tasakasama 2019-10-11 07:28

@pattedecanaard Yes on some pylon collectibles are accessible, I saw it during the jam and I said to myself ok I will fix it before export and I forgot :)

Thanks to you

tasakasama 2019-10-11 07:31

digital-pie 2019-10-28 23:49

really like the idea, I did find it really awkward to controll but it was still a decent game overall
