Damn, this is veru cool
I like the art and style, nice job!
It would be great to add difficulty progression, so you could first learn how to play with a bar size of 2-4.
Interesting concept! It took me a few tries to understand the rules of each monster, but I got pretty consistent afterwards. Nice entry!
As a musican myself i love it.
how to start the game? : D i'm pressing enter but cannot continue?
I've made it to 200 now, I think I have a very solid strategy, each of the monsters has a certain element it really likes, and as long as you find it, you don't run out of energy. Just have to watch out for the 4′33″ enjoyers, but as long as you keep them in mind, I think you can keep going!
Very fun game! I enjoyed finding strategies to make it further and further. My first three runs ended on the first monster, but I slowly worked my way up, it was fun experimenting with the sounds based on what the monster was doing. The little hearts when you get it right are a cute effect, same with the singing of the monsters, I thought that was very cute. Very well done game, great job!
At first, I thought a music-making mechanic based on listening by ear wouldn't impress me. But I was wrong, because it turned out to be really engaging. This game genuinely impressed me. Its simplicity (in a good way) and polished feel are amazing.
Cool concept. Well done!
Nice song composing game! too bad I am tone deaf making it hard to play this game.
Nice little music game ! Maybe controls could have been more convenient, but when you get it, it's fun to play. The graphics are also minimal but clean ! Great job !
It was neat! It felt like sometimes the monster's notes were like, half a beat later than what the pattern was showing, if that makes sense.
I really enjoyed playing this one. As some others have mentioned, I think I had an issue with the audio being delays somewhat significantly and that made it hard to know which beats the notes fell on. I guess there is some trick when the monsters change color but I wasn't able to understand it in time. Thanks for sharing this one, it was very fun.
cool, a PICO-8 game!
Clever idea! I don't think I've ever played a melody matching game like this before, especially not in Pico8. Interface took me a second to understand but once I got it, it was fun to try and match the notes. PS: I think it might be helpful if you update this page to explain the controls for folks who haven't played Pico games before.
