I really enjoyed the cute sound effects
While I can appreciate the humor and effort that went into the intro music, it can be a bit distracting when trying to read how to play the game. Art style is really well done, I loved seeing all the different sprites and assets. It can be a bit hard to control the camera in the web version, though going fullscreen fixes the issue. Music was soothing once you got into the main game. The gameplay was fun. Great job!
Cool game idea, it was fun to pick two different factions to match them together on a team. I really enjoyed the music and sound effects, haha. Overall I think this is a nice entry for the jam, great work!
Great concept. Reminds me of playing the Nexus Wars SC2 mod back in the day.
Love the art, though in the future trying to keep a consistent pixel ratio would go a long way for helping tie everything together. A lot of content for a jam game
@rustywolf haha yeah we definitely bit off way more than we could chew in the art department. We started with a 32x32 pixel ratio and had a fairly consistent style, but then as time got short and we ran out of time we kinda had to throw some stuff together and that quickly went out the window in favor of just getting stuff into the game. Classic Ludum Dare! But thanks for the feedback, one day we will learn to narrow our scope a bit haha
@james-greenleaf Thanks!!!! YES! I think we were all inspired by old Warcraft 3 and Starcraft 2 mods. As soon as we saw the theme we all were immediately thinking along those lines
@mcgank yeah I completely agree with the menu music. I made/ finished the music in the final hour today and luckily we got it in, but we ran out of time before we could implement the mute button on the title screen...so now people are forced to listed to the goofy title music :P
Good tower defense mixed with castle fight experience! Loved the diversity of towers.
Pretty cool tower defense, sorta reminded me of PvZ with the "Braaaains" hah and I liked the strategizing element with having to take care of both sides as well as being able to choose who are combining with
Awesome art style!
@evgenii-victorovich Castle Fight was a pretty big inspiration for this, so thanks for calling it out! :D
@thatfirey @helviett Thank you!
Nice one. Funny idea.
The start screen music rocks. Oh and BRAINS!
the game is pretty and fun) it was nice to play it. thank for your job!
@winie Thank you! TheDugnutt made it in the last couple hours before submission, and I think it really ties the goofy vibe together, haha.
@joriska Thanks for playing it! :D
Love the starting screen!
Dads realm FTW! :joy: Loved the art style, I really enjoyed the gameplay. Congrats!
@newey Thanks so much! :D
@barce Dads were easily my favourite to animate XD Thanks for playing!
Really cool combination of type advantage with mobile tower defense!? Kind of a lot going on! I mostly just wanted a "fast forward" button, because of type matchups I ended up using a lot of whales. Overall good job!
@nardandas Haha, yeah, the Whaleman movespeed was an unintended consequence of trying to implement knockback resistance. Whoops! Thanks for playing!
Had a good time with this one!
The unit types were unique and had a satisfying amount of available upgrades! Only issue I had was the map moving underneath me when I moved my mouse to click the "BUY" or "START GAME" buttons made me feel like I was chasing the UI. Think the weird feeling could be fixed if moving the map was a click and drag sort of thing to allow menu navigation without moving the map. Though that didn't stop me from playing a few games lol!
Really satisfying and fun, great work!
Very good game, great audio 5/5 would listen on my Spotify One problem I had with this is the camera control, kinda weird for me to use
For me the best part was that the game reminded me of the time long long ago when I played Warlord II on MS-DOS. The general idea of having our city and their city (or wizard tower in this case), creating places that spawn units, then upgraded unit... I am deeply nostalgic about Warlord and loved it so much that this resemblance made me quite happy.
Then, the art: the characters design is my favourite part. They look great! Obviously you only had 3 days and kept the background simple, but if you continue working on it in the future, I would love to see a more updated background, maybe with some animation, like flow of the water or rustle of the trees. I love the colour of the river though, and little stones in it. And of course some little adventures/powerups/secrets our units could find on the map would be neat. There I am just day dreaming about Warlord again, to be honest (though I have to note that in Warlord I was in charge of my troops, and here they have their own opinions because of the set path). Anyway these are just suggestions for the future, as for what the game is right now - I think it's neat, even if a bit slow. As I said, character design & character art, pretty river and Warlord vibes are my favourite parts of it.
My favourite unit:

Fun stuff!
I appreciate the variety of units and factions, it adds a nice level of depth to the gameplay. Not gonna lie the menu music made me crack up.
It was amazing experience I love variety of units and factions in this game.
@breadley @dave-septian Very valid points about the scroll features. We're going to focus on UX earlier next time. Our scope was maybe a bit too large for this one, and some UI features suffered for it. Thanks for playing! <3
@kanity Glad our game could evoke some nostalgia for you. Good feedback about the map assets. I was hoping to animate it a bit, but alas, so much to do, so little time. Thanks for playing!
@m-kusy Haha yeah the music gets me good, too. Thanks for playing!
@liniux Thank you! We had a great time making them. :)
Very good Job! Loads of functionality done for a game Jam congrats, as well as large diversity of art and character in the game! Sound effect ware nice too.
In tutorial, some inscriptions are so small, they are unreadable on smaller screens. When trying to click on a hammer at the start the screen scrolls left. That's not what I want or expect from the game. Overall, good job!
Cute graphics! A lot of creatures expand gameplay variants! Great job!
I liked the art quite a bit. The number of different factions, unit types, and abilities was impressive. I appreciated the "unstuck" button in lieu of actually fixing the navigation bug. There were a couple things I would have changed: * The menu music was pretty annoying and didn't really fit the game * The UI was too close to the edge of the screen, and I kept moving the camera when trying to click on something * It took a bit to take in all the information on the screen, with the different building types, unit types per building, and strengths and weaknesses
